My family and I visited for dinner, and there was roughly a ten-minute wait. Interestingly, they now have an all-day, cash-only special menu for select items, such as bibimbap and soon tofu soup. This time, we got the chicken bulgogi with mushroom beef soon tofu soup combo ($31), bulgogi hot stone pan bibimbap ($22), and pork cutlet ($20). The server is really nice and usually prompt with requests, though she may need a friendly reminder when things get really busy. We first got a complementary scallion pancake appetizer. I thought it tasted a little bland, but the tangy sauce helped flavor it. The banchan included, among others, kimchi, broccoli, fish cake, and sweetened potato salad. I wish the side dishes arrived before our orders, though. I enjoyed the kimchi and sweetened potato salad the most. The flavor diversity made this meal enjoyable. All our main orders tasted delicious and flavorful. The mushroom beef soon tofu soup was a tad salty for my palate, but I enjoyed the hearty flavor coming from the beef. The chicken bulgogi was nicely sweet, though some of the pieces were fatty. The pork cutlet arrived as a big dish with long, thin slices. I wish the pork was more flavorful, but it tasted better after we requested katsu sauce. Overall, this is a solid Korean restaurant for big portions of food. During dinnertime at about 7 pm, it was loud as the restaurant is rather small. Next time, I'd want to bring cash next time to try their all-day special menu. For example, soon tofu soup and bibimbap would each cost $13. An order of bulgogi would cost $15. I think that's a good deal to try out. read more

Da Rae is my favorite spot for lunch close to my job! It's a bit hidden in a plaza right next to a busy intersection, so I got lucky when I found this place. Da Rae is a small spot, with about 12 tables total and a couple of aunties waiting tables and running food. Their menu is extensive, and the prices are affordable when you put the portion sizes in perspective. My go-to is the bulnak tofu soup, which has beef and baby octopus. Randomly looking for Korean food in Fullerton and stumbled upon this restaurant. Parking is pretty spacious. We were greeted by friendly ahjummas (?) and ordered a couple of items from their All Day Special. Was pleasantly surprised by the portion size, especially the seafood pancake - which was so flaky and filled with a lot of seafood. Most other places I've tried, the seafood pancake comes out dry. The price does add up though but for yummy food, it's worth! Sad to see that it's temporarily closed as this is definitely a reliable Korean spot in Fullerton area. Little shop with very friendly staff, and I knew the food was going to be good when I kept seeing other Koreans coming in and out. I'm not Korean so I cannot attest to the authenticity but if there are that many other Koreans visiting it must be pretty authentic. At first, I thought the items on the menu were expensive but I understood why it was priced that way when it came out. The portion sizes are really big and it's meant to feed groups of people and you also get bonchon (side dishes) included with the meal too. We were craving "soup" during a chilly winter night. Yelp suggested a nearby Korean Tofu Soup. The Da Rae BBQ Restaurant is not well lite in the late hours. The small restaurant is located behind another Japanese restaurant and wedge between car wash express. The restaurant is very cramped and establishment hasn't be updated for some time so looks outdated. There are approximately 8 tables accommodating small family or groups. Being 1.5 hours before closing, we were quickly seated, orders taken and food came out fairly soon. The only complaint was two items were missed and we had to remind the owner. Ironically, those were "bbq" items. haha! The banchans (complementary side dishes) were good. The kimchi and cucumbers were the best. We ordered a side of japchae (cold glass noodles) and it was disappointing. The tofu combo soup is delicious and flavorful. There are option for spice level so amp it up if you can handle the heat. This place has been in my radar, I finally visited with my family. At first sight, looks very small, and maybe even questionable, but.. you know what they say, never judge a book by its cover. Located in a semi hidden location surrounded by larger businesses and Target, easily could be missed. There is plenty of parking in front and in the surrounding area. I read plenty of reviews about the bad costumer service, we did not experience that at all. We were seated, greeted and give menus almost immediately. Came in as a large party and we were treated like everyone else. The food was good, it came our pipping hot and freshly made. My favorite Korean dish is Bibimbap, very simple nothing crazy but the crispy rice is my absolute favorite. My food was so hot that I had to wait a few minutes to eat, which was perfect because I was able to try all the fixing first. A hidden gem in Fullerton, right next to the tanning salon inside of the strip mall that has Target (and for those of you that are local, it's where Payless used to be) When you drive up to it, you wouldn't expect much as the exterior is pretty lackluster with a little podium that has a waitlist sheet clipped to it. There's also a fold out table and picnic chairs outside set up for "outdoor seating" Upon walking inside, kind of the same vibe, things are very homey looking, and the first thing I noticed was that they still had their plexiglass dividers up (which I think is a huge plus cuz, they aren't hurting anyone and who's gonna get mad at a little added layer of germ or Covid protection??) The staff is so friendly, your classic crew of Korean aunties. The dining area is small and the kitchen area is even smaller but, this is the tell tale sign that the food is going to be good. And this was proven when I ordered my food (to go) and enjoyed it at home. I got a beef and veggie stew and it was seasoned perfectly, big chunks of beef, and came with all the side dishes you would get dining in (all of which were also really tasty) The only unfortunate part of this trip was that I was so famished I completely blanked on taking photos of my meal when I returned home but, I will be back and definitely update my review with food pics in the near future!! It was good to see them completely full on friday evening which means they're popular and there's a lot out front which also gets very full. We got soon dobu (asked for extra extra spicy, but got moderate because I think they were worried my order would backfire), bibimbap which comes on hot stone sizzler plate, not the dolsot bowl you're used to, but this makes it nicer to evenly crisp the rice and gives you a lot of breathing room, and spicy nneungmyun. I had the most horrific experience here tonight. After we finished eating and gave her the credit card to pay the bill. She returned it to the wrong table - that person left with my credit card. They didn't know who the person was and kept saying the other person took it ---- as if it is not their fault for taking it to them in the first place! Found this gem of a Korean restaurant in Fullerton. The owner greeted us as we walked in and was friendly and full of energy. She took care of our party of 7 and food came out fast. Food was delicious and had generous portions. We ended sharing the entrees and splitting it amongst our party due to the portion size being so large. Their food might not be pungent and strong like other Korean restaurant but I can assure you that it means they don't use any chemical condiment such as MSG. I've found a favorite Korean family-owned business in the area! We were craving Korean food for dinner and came here on a weekday night. 1) Spicy Cold Noodle (bibim naengmyun): chilled buckwheat noodles garnished with cold slices of radish, cucumber with red spicy chili sauce. Ironically, even though I'm not super into spicy food, I love the taste of bibim noodles. The sauce is on point - with that combination of sweet and spicy. There are definitely oodles of noodles (they provide you with scissors) so you can cut them into bite sizes; otherwise, the noodles are SUPER long (5/5) 2) Beef short rib soup (galbitang): I loove getting my fix of galbitang. There's plenty of meat in the soup, and interestingly enough, it comes OFF the bone (usually other places serve you with bone-in). It's still flavorful though.
