Food is always good and consistent. The ladies who work here are super nice! I've never been to any restaurant (especially an Asian restaurant) where the service has been this great.

Came for Christmas dinner. Smallish restaurant with not too many tables. The ladies were super friendly and kind (even though they were working on Christmas) and I experienced some of the best service ever. Their gamjatang is great!!!

Free chives pancakes they give you

Came back.. still so good. We got: -MANDOO GUK (dumpling soup)- their dumplings are really good. My son really enjoyed this -CLAMS KALGUKSOO- this was tasty. You can tell they hand make and cut their noodles. - BO SSAM- this was as tasty as I remembered it. The soybean paste that it comes with is super tasty. Their banchan is very good. Can't wait to come back!

Little shop with very friendly staff, and I knew the food was going to be good when I kept seeing other Koreans coming in and out. I'm not Korean so I cannot attest to the authenticity but if there are that many other Koreans visiting it must be pretty authentic. At first, I thought the items on the menu were expensive but I understood why it was priced that way when it came out. The portion sizes are really big and it's meant to feed groups of people and you also get bonchon (side dishes) included with the meal too. We ordered two dishes for two people which came out to around 40 dollars, but it could have easily fed four people.

Kimchi stew spicy of course!! You will not find better in Orange County!!

This little restaurant is just a gem. All the waitresses are so kind and really go out of their way to help you choose menu items and give great service. The food is absolutely delicious. I go here at least four times a month. One of my favorite restaurants so glad I have great Korean food right by me.

I usually call in to order ahead and pick up. $14 for the all day special including tax.

We were craving "soup" during a chilly winter night. Yelp suggested a nearby Korean Tofu Soup. The Da Rae BBQ Restaurant is not well lite in the late hours. The small restaurant is located behind another Japanese restaurant and wedge between car wash express. The restaurant is very cramped and establishment hasn't be updated for some time so looks outdated. There are approximately 8 tables accommodating small family or groups. Being 1.5 hours before closing, we were quickly seated, orders taken and food came out fairly soon. The only complaint was two items were missed and we had to remind the owner. Ironically, those were "bbq" items. haha! The banchans (complementary side dishes) were good. The kimchi and cucumbers were the best. We ordered a side of japchae (cold glass noodles) and it was disappointing. The tofu combo soup is delicious and flavorful. There are option for spice level so amp it up if you can handle the heat. Overall, the service is good. The owner is very cordial. I will certainly return to support this mom and pop shop.

Seems to be a very authentic Korean restaurant! I ordered the kimchi soup and the flavors were very deep and pronounced. I loved it! The veggies that came with the ssambap also looked very fresh and I loved the variety. The staff are also very friendly. There is a parking lot as well so no need to worry about parking. Overall, I would recommend if you are looking for some traditional Korean dishes!

Such a cute mom and pop shop to come when you're here in Fullerton. This place makes you feel so warm and cozy during winter time. Parking: Easy to find parking on a Saturday night. It's located in a small plaza, but the other stores nearby are mainly cleaners Tip: I believe if you order a meal, it comes with a complimentary pancake with a small cup of sauce. Seafood Pancakes: SO SO GOOD. They were made with a generous amount of the seafood (octopus, imitation crab, scallion, red bell pepper) It's so big, about 2 hands spread out. Would highly recommend this dish for anyone. It's pretty filling so I would recommend you to get this dish with a small entree and rice between 2 people. Soft Tofu Soup Combo (korean side dishes, small galbi plate, and small tofu soup) (Mushroom and Beef) Korean tofu soup: Flavoring was a little bit lighter and healthier than compared to the standard chain Korean tofu restaurants. I'm assuming that they made the soup base from scratch or it might be from the alkaline water. Galbi: Great as always.

Japchae

Very friendly people, provided a kind service. Japchae was supposed to be an appetizer so I was surprised by how big the portion was. The food tasted pretty good. Parking was easy.

Right next to the tanning salons within the target shopping center

A hidden gem in Fullerton, right next to the tanning salon inside of the strip mall that has Target (and for those of you that are local, it's where Payless used to be) When you drive up to it, you wouldn't expect much as the exterior is pretty lackluster with a little podium that has a waitlist sheet clipped to it. There's also a fold out table and picnic chairs outside set up for "outdoor seating" Upon walking inside, kind of the same vibe, things are very homey looking, and the first thing I noticed was that they still had their plexiglass dividers up (which I think is a huge plus cuz, they aren't hurting anyone and who's gonna get mad at a little added layer of germ or Covid protection??) The staff is so friendly, your classic crew of Korean aunties. The dining area is small and the kitchen area is even smaller but, this is the tell tale sign that the food is going to be good. And this was proven when I ordered my food (to go) and enjoyed it at home. I got a beef and veggie stew and it was seasoned perfectly, big chunks of beef, and came with all the side dishes you would get dining in (all of which were also really tasty) The only unfortunate part of this trip was that I was so famished I completely blanked on taking photos of my meal when I returned home but, I will be back and definitely update my review with food pics in the near future!! If your in the fullerton, placentia, Yorba linda, brea area, this is your new local Korean restaurant! No need to make the trip to Buena Park, diamond bar or further to get your fix!!

This place has been in my radar, I finally visited with my family. At first sight, looks very small, and maybe even questionable, but.. you know what they say, never judge a book by its cover. Located in a semi hidden location surrounded by larger businesses and Target, easily could be missed. There is plenty of parking in front and in the surrounding area. I read plenty of reviews about the bad costumer service, we did not experience that at all. We were seated, greeted and give menus almost immediately. Came in as a large party and we were treated like everyone else. The food was good, it came our pipping hot and freshly made. My favorite Korean dish is Bibimbap, very simple nothing crazy but the crispy rice is my absolute favorite. My food was so hot that I had to wait a few minutes to eat, which was perfect because I was able to try all the fixing first. I then was too excited that it cooled I forgot to take a picture before eating.. ha. Overall we all had a great experience and enjoyed coming here.

They've got the essence of comfort food down to a T! It's a local mom-pop vibe store where there's seating and you also see the delivery items /garage-ish items out and run by korean ladies who are so warm yet a little strict . Was feeling a little homesick and nostalgic and their bantering tone sent my homesickness away! It was good to see them completely full on friday evening which means they're popular and there's a lot out front which also gets very full. We got soon dobu (asked for extra extra spicy, but got moderate because I think they were worried my order would backfire), bibimbap which comes on hot stone sizzler plate, not the dolsot bowl you're used to, but this makes it nicer to evenly crisp the rice and gives you a lot of breathing room, and spicy nneungmyun. As usual, each entrée comes with complimentary scallion pancakes, banchans and we also got barley tea. We're almost vegetarian and found a lot of options to share and split! They don't serve or allow BYOB, n/a beverages only. I saw the other tables get bbq and their ssam platters looked so delicious! Our faces and stomachs got full, but I think they fixed something in our hearts too.

Do they do catering platters?

What is bidden bop and what should I order when I go to a Korean restaurant for the first time and I don't like super spicy?

Do you guys have any vegetarian dishes?

Yes, they have. I'm assuming you don't eat any seafood. If that is the case, you have a choice of Kim tofu soup, cold noodle with bean broth and bibimbap (ask not to add meat.)

Yes tofu

What's the difference between spicy kimchi stew and kimchi tofu soup?

Kimchi stew (kimchi jjigae) usually has more kimchi and more acidic broth, while the main ingredients in kimchi tofu soup (kimchi soondubu) is the soft tofu.. and some kimchi added to enhance the broth flavor. They are pretty similar I think? But if… Read more

Our server, Israel, was great. Out of all the times I have been to Gen in the last few years, he has provided the best service. Very respectful, attentive, and friendly. I will even go out of my way to say that he set the standard for how all servers should be in the industry. Most servers these days are doing the bare minimum and won't even bring napkins unless you beg for them. On another note, food was good and consistent. Don't be expecting super high quality meats, you get what you pay for. My favorites are the brisket, hawaiian steak, and short ribs. Can't forget to get the korean sweet pancakes for dessert. We ate until we could barely move.

* Who: partner & I * What: random late lunch…read more* When: Saturday a little past noon * Why: hungry after apartment touring * Space/Decor: in a small plaza that had plenty of parking when we arrived. Average space in the sense it's rectangular & like any mom/pop hole in the wall. You step in, tables to your right going all the way back, & left front side has cash register, sweets display, & water dispenser while the rest of the left was the kitchen. Menu was straightforward but could benefit from having a description in case you're not familiar (like my BF). * Service: the reason I'm docking by 1 star. The lady was nice, but not very attentive, & it wasn't like it was busy. We needed to ask or follow up on 2-3 things. My BF was eyeing some dessert when we were first ordering but she didn't try to sell it to us ‍ * Food: surprisingly good as it was both our first time there. He got the adobo bowl & the chicken was tender/juicy & pretty much fell off the bone. I got the tocino plate & the meat was flavorful with just the right amount of garlic in the rice. We also got one chicken skewer & one pork skewer, which was a bit smaller than I'm used to but the smoky flavor & tenderness was spot on. My only issue was the portion compared to the price. * Final Thoughts: mom/pop Filipino food that is great on flavor but leaves something to be desired with customer service. Would recommend & will return again for the food. * Final Grade: B+ or 8.5/10
