I made reservations so we could get the premium set. It was our first time, so not sure what to expect. The reservation for seating wasn't needed as the tables were mostly empty but the reservation was needed to make sure the omakase was available. There was no sushi bar seating, so the omakase came out all at once instead of a piece by piece experience. That's fine. Oddly though, the waiter did not explain which fish each piece was, but the sushi chef James told us at the end of the meal that the waiter was new and Chef James then explained the fish himself. Weird backwards experience but every one was kind and well-meaning. The quality of the fish in the nigiri was exceptional. Some of the best I've had in the area considering how close it is located to competitors like Ooshima and Kaigen etc. The fish all came dressed, which was to be expected. It was all pretty delicious except it was all just a little bit sweet for my taste.. I prefer more savory, salty, or lemony. That being said, the quality made up for the preference in taste which could easily be remedied with some soy sauce, ponzu, lemon, etc. The bite of Wagyu nigiri was genuinely the best wagyu I've ever had. We also tried the mussels and agedashi tofu for hot appetizers. Would 100% recommend either dish. Overall, happy with the experience as wifey was a happy birthday girl. We did not have room to try any regular rolls so I cannot comment on that. The one negative thing I will say is to absolutely skip the handrolls - any of them. The machine compacted rice made a roll that should be delicate feel mishandled and ruined the texture/experience of that roll. That being said, will definitely be coming back again for some more of the best quality nigiri in the area.

We were sat immediately and service was friendly and quick. We ordered a variety of Sushi including blue crab roll, a special cut roll, and of course, the premium sashimi platter. Food came out quickly, and the presentation was beautiful. I love how they use really thick cuts of fish and do not skimp on the portion sizes. I would say, if you are an avid fan of sashimi, the premium sashimi platter is a must here to share (or not!) Overall, I really enjoyed my time here and would highly recommend this as a great sushi spot in downtown Brea. I will definitely be back.

I, however, will be continuing my search for edible sushi. I really wanted to like this place, but it turned into one of those meals where each dish somehow managed to outdo the last. The sushi rice was dry, bland, and completely unseasoned. The fish was sliced so thin I thought I accidentally ordered the "printer paper" cut. There was so much rice compared to fish that every bite felt like I was eating a rice ball that briefly met a tuna. The miso soup tasted like someone emptied half a jar of instant broth into a pot and called it a day. Then came the sauces. The ponzu was oddly sweet, and somehow even the soy sauce tasted sweet. I wasn't expecting my sushi to come with dessert seasoning. The tamago was so sweet it should've been listed under the dessert menu. One bite was enough. The assorted tempura was another surprise, not the good kind. The batter reminded me of the frozen tempura you buy in the grocery store freezer aisle. I've never had tempura at a sushi restaurant that tasted like it came with microwave instructions. To top it off, there were flies and little fruit fly-type bugs making their rounds around the table. Nothing says "fresh seafood" quite like having to share your meal with tiny uninvited dinner guests. The 10-piece sushi set definitely wasn't worth the price. I'm genuinely puzzled by all the glowing reviews. The overall quality was closer to an average all-you-can-eat sushi spot than what the ratings led me to expect. Unfortunately, this is one restaurant I won't be revisiting.

I called to try to make a phone order and the person that answered said they only take online orders. They kindly instructed me to "scroll to the bottom of the website and press order" to place an order. Didn't work. At this point my mother had arrived at the restaurant to pick up the order so I called her and told her to put me on speaker so I can translate and then she can pay to make the process easier. One of your staff members "Sam" refused to allow me to translate for my mother and basically refused to take her order. I don't understand the complication and hostility as I was willing to place the order and my mother pay in person. I really hope you see what I'm upset about and hope this doesn't occur again. Food is delicious & price is reasonable. Service was quick & attentive. My daughter wants to come here for her birthday (her favorite place). We ordered Double Baked Salmon ($16), Caliente ($18). Caliente is my daughter's absolute favorite. She will order this plate every single time we go. Sunkist ($16) Double Albacore ($16) Popcorn crawfish ($8).
