In my 20+ years of eating sushi, I've never had a restaurant not give me ginger with a sushi roll. And whatever, ok sure, I'll politely ask for some. Our first sushi spot had a very long wait time and so we pivoted and found this just a few blocks down the street! It was a very lucky find! I called ahead of time, the server made sure to save us a table for 3, which was very kind. We ordered a bunch of rolls, one of them being a special, the Titanic Roll, and they were delicious. Sushi tasted fresh, different, and unique. It's also located in a small plaza with a coffee place, which is aesthetically pleasing. I only did to go. My order was placed and said time to pick up around 7pm, ok that's fine I'll pick it up after work. I got off a bit early and was only a few mins early. Went in and was greeted immediately and showed the lady my order and gave the name. She went in the back and came out and told me that they are almost done. The food here was perfectly fine! Not particularly memorable even though I went alone and ordered more than my share. What i absolutely do remember is that this restaurant is on a corner so I parked across the street and walked to it, except the garden side is not accessible from the outside. And I wasn't sure where to go so I ended up walking around the entire building and the entrance is through this walkway, past the coffee shop, under this garden gate archway...and then the restaurant is split into two sections so when I walked in, there was no one working around and it just felt very awkward. And then the restaurant very heavily showcases their religious faith...on the walls, on the menu, by the music playing. And it's fine but it was overbearing. I keep hearing about sushi fire and since it's right near me, I figured I'd better go check it out. I am a huge sushi fan and it better be good. Upon arriving our lovely server Me lani was amazing. We had sushi, sashimi, albacore avocado roll, edamame, miso soup, tempura shrimp, egg rolls, sake, you name it lol and everything was spectacular! The place is really cute but the sushi bar side doesn't open until 4 o'clock daytime serves lunch on the other side and on the patio, but the sushi chef is working behind the sushi bar in the closed off room. First time in this nice set up of a sushi restaurant they have plenty of space for outside dining and a small space for indoor. I guess in the evening people tend to take the tables outside. This restaurant is right at the corner of Harbor Blvd and Chapman Ave. My wife ordered the Hamachi Kama Bento box the main dish is the Broiled Yellow Tail Collar and mixed Shrimp Tempura. The tempura was small and burnt and not golden however. The Yellow Tail Collar tasted just like regular fish. I ordered Salmon Handroll and Salmon tempura. Everything was super-fresh and the warm dishes (Crunch, Baked & Cooked Rolls) were cooked to perfection. I had an additional blue crab hand roll. All were excellent. And the fresh wasabi was delicious! The ambience: 3/10. We found the vibe to be a downer. They are obviously a Christian restaurant and play Christian Muzak-style instrumental on a tv screen with the playlist and the lyrics to the songs on the screen. There are also bible verses on the menus. I don't object to their (or anyone's) religious preference, but I don't think it should be foisted on diners who just want to eat some good sushi. The place was all decked out for the holidays... ornaments, lights, poinsettias, & Christmas music all around! There's indoor & outdoor (w/ heaters) seating. It's very cute, quaint, & casual, but could easily be romantic if you choose a table off to the side. Our server was very attentive & sweet. Her voice was almost sing-songy... such a lovely lady! We were very happy with the Nami roll, the spicy crab & scallop hand roll, & another roll I didn't get to photograph because it was gobbled up too quickly! My friend was in the mood for sushi so we decided to try this place next to our favorite tea spot in DTF. To start, this place looks like it needs to be updated, the menu is a bit confusing- they could have the sushi and sashimi in the front and any extra stuff like ramen in the back. Not many staff, so you have to wait some time to get some service. The whole place looks like it caters to women because me and my friend were the only men there. It could be a cool sushi bar, but that's my personal opinion. Restrooms are decently clean. Not a bad place but it left me underwhelmed. read more

I'm writing a review today because this place definitely clears your standard sushi spot. A couple pros and cons based off what I ordered -- the regular rolls had less fish and more cucumber than expected. However, the specialty rolls were a lot better; you pay a little more, but they definitely pack them with more fish. We also ordered the hand rolls, which again had a little more cucumber than fish. The surrounding area is GORG. We were coming from a flea market in downtown Fullerton and wanted a bite to eat, so we settled on this sushi spot. The courtyard in front?! The arch to enter?! Beware, you will not be able to enter on the doors on the outside - instead, you have to go around into the lot (as a pedestrian) and enter through the arch, which the sushi spot shares with a coffee spot. There's plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, but we opted to be inside. It was oddly quiet for around lunchtime, but we enjoyed the space to ourselves and our server was attentive! The patio seating is great on a nice evening, the service was attentive, and the sushi was as good as anywhere, and as expensive. Parking might be tough on a busy night, especially when there's less due to the construction in the lot, but it shouldn't be hopeless.
