Some ignorant teen greeted us when we walked in yesterday around 3:10PM with our 12 lbs. service dog in our stroller. He said we couldn't bring in our dog, we informed him it was a service dog. He said we could sit outside in the 83º heat. We said we would like to sit inside -- there was an area to the left of the door with 2 or 3 empty booths -- but he kind of shrugged and pointed towards the rest of the restaurant patrons like he couldn't serve us. He reluctantly said let me ask, and walked into the kitchen and was gone for awhile so we left. FYI, interfering with a disabled person's right to use a service animal is considered a misdemeanor and carries severe penalties. Handlers who are wrongfully denied access can pursue legal action for significant financial penalties. read more

Long time fan, first time reviewer. Had a great lunch here! Everything tasted fresh, and each dish had its own unique twist. The Salmon Ceviche was a great way to start. The crunchy chips paired perfectly with the creamy salmon and fresh salsa, making every bite satisfying. The Rainbow Roll was another favorite. It was topped with a nice variety of fresh fish, while the crunchy shrimp and "crab" inside added great texture. We also ordered the Galaxy Roll, which had a beautiful presentation and was just as tasty. It was saucy, a little spicy, and full of flavor. The Poke Bowl was equally impressive. The fish portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and it made for a filling, delicious meal. Small but cozy and friendly restaurant. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. One of my favorite sushi spots! The staff is always friendly, the restaurant is clean, and the sushi is consistently fresh and delicious. Lunch can get busy because the specials are a great deal, but the regular prices are reasonable too. I've been coming here for sometime, and my go-to rolls are the Paradise Roll, Rainbow Roll and their new Salmon sashimi. Definitely recommend! FYI ........ They are closed on Sundays. read more

I forgot to take a picture because I was so hungry but I ordered the daily special which happened to be a crunch roll. It was literally as it sounds and nothing out of the ordinary and nothing disappointing. For 6.99, the portion size was reasonable and the flavor was definitely there. You get what you pay for and honestly, I can't complain if it's only $7 for a sushi roll. I wish they posted the daily special somewhere but if you call, they're more than happy to let you know. We had mild monkey roll, salmon lover roll, sweet fire roll, and hurricane roll. They are all flavorful. Came here by myself, wish I looked around before I ordered. Dirty establishment needed to be swept desperately, once my food came there were at least 3 little flies had to swat at them the entire meal. It's a small place and with no music playing it's easy to hear the servers taking, they were staying behind register bad mouthing previous customers and that made me uncomfortable. Also the spicy tuna had a weird moisture as if water had been added? Price is reflected on quality and taste of their rolls. I won't be back and regret eating there. read more

I walked in, was not greeted, but the person behind me was instantly greeted with a "Hello, you can take a seat anywhere if you're dining in!" - I proceed to order, asking general questions if there's lunch specials if certain items are offered à la carte, and I got the most irritated and shortest "yes and no" responses. BEST PART. Once I get my food, I sit down. And she proceeds to tell me I'm not allowed to eat there if it's a take out order.. .. .. the food I JUST ordered from their restaurant! I just got up and excused myself. Before, I left, I asked why I wasn't given the same option as everyone else to dine in (three groups in total walked in after me) and she said in an extremely snappy tone "because you came up to the counter to order" - it's disheartening and unfortunate the way I was treated. J sushi is the special dinner that I can only get once in a while because their locations tend to be in the middle or outer parts of the county. I don't eat here often but if they were closer to my home you'd bet I would be making multiple stops! J sushi has some of the freshest sushi rolls marked at a more affordable price which I love. This was actually one of the first restaurants I ordered sushi from when I was a teenager because of how financially accessible it was. Hands down, the best sushi and rolls in the Brea area! Everything was so fresh and well prepared. I don't like sushi places that drown their dishes in heavy sauces that mask the flavor of the sushi. This place excels at keeping the sushi true to its essence--not overpowering, yet incredibly fresh in taste. Their service is exceptional, with the friendliest servers. The restaurant was sparkling clean and tidy, which is a must for me. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the udon! (sadly, no pic) Their noodle soup was surprisingly pleasing. I expected a store-bought base with an MSG-heavy taste, but they do it differently. The soup was flavorful and had a clean taste. This restaurant is located inside same plaza as 99 cents store and Paris Baguette. Plenty of parking and surprisingly pretty busy. Considering the economy I would call it great for your wallet but don't go if you expect high end quality sushi. But I do have to say spicy tuna was the only thing that was good. No alcoholic beverage on top of that. But workers are great and friendly. When you walk in you have to wait to get seated but they tell you to seat anywhere you like. I ordered takeout tonight. Food was excellent, but what impressed me more was the new packaging. :) Instead of bagging the food in a plastic bag, it was packaged in a nice big brown paper bag. My Bento Box was packaged in a compartment plastic tray type plate and then boxed in a cardboard box that almost looked like a gift box. :) Very nice! I like it! I'm impressed! read more

It's really unfortunate, but the last few times I've visited JSushi they didn't honor the VIP discount for me. I tried messaging them to assist with this problem and they completely ignored me. Still one our local go-to spots for takeout sushi. Decided to dine at the restaurant tonight to spoil the kids. Service was awesome and the food was as good as always. Was pleasantly surprised when the kids were offered a cute building toy each instead of the usual paper and crayons like most restaurants.
