noticed that someone new was being trained during our visit, and she seemed understandably nervous, as it appeared to be her first day. Unfortunately, the trainer was very rude and impatient with her. Instead of guiding her through the process, the trainer would take the plates out of her hands when she made a mistake, complete the task herself, and then hand them back for the trainee to finish. She also seemed distracted, looking outside most of the time rather than paying attention and properly teaching the new employee. It made my partner and me uncomfortable to witness the way she was treated. Everyone has to learn somewhere, and new employees deserve patience and support. I hope she receives better training and is treated with more kindness moving forward. read more

Stopped here yesterday as one of the "local" places I had m=on my list to try. Service was friendly but not helpful. As I was building the bowl I needed to request additional toppings as we built because the initial amount on some (seaweed, jalapeño were very sparse. The real "needle mover" here though was the fish. I got salmon, spicy salmon, Tuna, Spicy Tuna and scallops. While the fish did not appear to be "bad" the consistency was not that of a fresh sushi. kind of soft and unevenly cut. This is the first poke place I've been to that offers Salmon Toro! Although they only offer white rice, brown rice and salad unfortunately. Other places may offer other things like chips and noodles. I do like that they also offer some fish options that come marinaded in sauce, like the spicy creamy tuna, spicy salmon, and creamy scallops. I have to admit the albacore and seared tuna be looking on the dry side, but everything else looks good, especially all the salmon. They offer all my favorite toppings. I was a bit disappointed to be turned around when I came in for an order that would have been done within 5 minutes max. Paid about $20 for a regular bowl and was surprised at the amount of fish they put in it, not a crazy amount especially for $20 but better than I've seen at other places. However the white rice was super grainy and tasted like leftovers. You pay extra for avocado but they put just a tiny scoop of it. The quality of fish and ingredients did not look or taste fresh. I was going to order squid, but they didn't have any available to serve. The price is alright, but the portion size is nearly half of what it used to be. I got about 1 tbsp of seaweed salad, and was told I would be charged extra when I asked for a little more. For my avocado, I only got 2 slivers (less than 1/4 of an avocado). There was also a really little amount of fish. I could count how many cubes they served me...13 cubes. The service was really bad. Where's the fish? Ordered the regular and doesn't look anything like the photos. I think I was eating a vegetarian bowl (lots of onion, cucumber, edamame and rice). Didn't taste any sesame oil at all. The rice was soaked up in house sauce which I think all that stuff that was pooling at the bottom of the bowl.
