Some restaurants are good... and some restaurants you can't stop thinking about after you leave. This was one of those places. From the first bite to the last dessert, everything was delicious and made our family dinner so special. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, sweet, and clean tasting. The Deluxe Sashimi is definitely worth ordering -- and it even comes with sweet shrimp! The BBQ beef short ribs were super tender, juicy, and full of flavor. My daughter loved it so much she said we had to order another plate! We also highly recommend the Truffle Tuna Nachos, Yellowtail Carpaccio, and the Kabuki Specialty Roll -- every dish was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. I paired everything with a Kawaii Sunset cocktail, which was sweet, fruity, and refreshing. And don't skip dessert! The Tempura Strawberry Ice Cream and Taiyaki Vanilla Ice Cream were the perfect ending -- warm and crispy on the outside, cold and creamy on the inside. So good! They also have Happy Hour: * Weekdays: 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM * Weekends: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Perfect for happy hour, family dinner, date night, or special occasions. We will definitely be back again!

As always the food here is good. Service can be slow but at times when they're not super busy you can get a good server. It's typically average here in terms of ambiance. Sometimes it's louder than other times. I have had the tempura shrimp roll, and fried tempura which have always been good. I've had the dream blast which is too much but always yummy! Their spicy spaghetti udon seafood is my all time favorite. If you are looking for a good spot then don't skip this place as it is yummy!!!!

Years later, and this is still my favorite place for sushi and happy hour. I love the hot sake and the sake sangria. This place has the best hibachi rice ever. They have wonderfully priced rolls during happy hour. I always get a Philadelphia roll, and share a hibachi fried rice with my husband and other yummy apps. I love the Krab salad. It is so refreshing and the dressing is amazing. Service is always wonderful here. We prefer the beautiful patio for seating, but inside is always nice too depending on the weather.

The food is good. This Kabuki is smaller than the Rancho Cucamonga location. Our server was nice but seemed to forget about us from time to time. We got our soups first and it took about 15 min in to finally just get our glasses of water. The Tiger Roll could have been tighter and more refined, but it was a generous portion. I always love the carpaccios here at Kabuki...they are reasonably priced and the yellow tail and salmon are always melt in your mouth fresh! Miso soup has generous amounts of tofu. Will be back

Spacious and good food. We each got a bento type lunch, delicious. Very fresh fish. The sukiyaki was surprisingly good. They also offer brown rice without charge. Salad and soup came with lunch. The waitress was attentive, refilled water a couple of times. Overall, decent food with no wait, I'd be back when in area.

This is one of our go to restaurants in the area. They usually have parking available not too far and have indoor and outdoor seating area. They are pet friendly in their patio. We came in for a late lunch and were seated almost right away. I absolutely love their soft shell crab dish that does NOT show up on the menu, you need to ask if they have it as it's seasonal. They serve it on a skillet with onions and lemon. The eel nigiri here is delicious! We ate it before I could snap a picture. We were a bit surprised on the spicy tuna hand roll presentation but it still tasted really good. Their spicy tuna is just spicy enough. This is the first time trying their kimchi hibachi rice which was also tasty. Probably not what I expected, but we still really enjoyed it. The cilantro albacore rice was perfect! The sauce it came with had a kick to it that just completed the dish. My mom really enjoyed her roll. For dessert we shared the tempura banana which is my favourite dessert! Our server, Matt, was great. He kept checking on us and did a great job at refilling our teas without having to ask for it.

I love this place! The food is delicious, I got the Sun-kissed rolls and my bf got the lava roll. We also ordered the cucumber salad. BUT the waitress didn't ask us if we wanted dessert just brought the bill over, like bye! Costumer service was not the best today but over all I always enjoy the food!

This was our fav spot. Great prices and good food but the last handful of times here have been a major disappointment. Service is always great, what's lacking lately is the sushi. Tiny rolls with tiny pieces of fish. I know people are scaling back as the economy is rough but man, coming here and leaving hungry when I order the same stuff every time is just not the experience I'm looking for. I hope it gets better.

Kabuki is located in the corner of the Target shopping center. Parking has been a bit more cramped and challenging since the huge apartment building was built on the corner. The restaurant has the typical Japanese restaurant feel with well positioned tables and booths as well as a counter sushi bar. Outdoor seating is also available. Greetings from the host/hostess and from the sushi chefs have always been genuine and friendly. Greetings from the servers lately has been mostly miss. Less than welcoming attitudes and lack of attention for drink refills have been a huge disappointment. Unfortunately, the best server we usually had (James) hasn't been working when we've come in. Food is well prepared and tasty. A new found favorite is their Krab Salad. It's quite a large portion of spring mix with cucumbers, daikon, crab "salad" and a delightful sesame dressing. Happy Hour prices in select appetizers, sushi and sashimi are available from 2:30-5:30 M-F

The food at this place is good! I have seen a lot of negative reviews about the food quality, however when I went it was surprisingly amazing. I went on a Saturday night around 5:00 pm and it was not packed at all. I tried several rolls and plates including the Alaskan Roll, Ramen, Sunkissed Roll (my favorite), and the Cilantro Albacore Roll (a Kabuki exclusive). All of these dishes were good and had good flavor. The broth of the ramen well seasoned and had good taste. The service at this place is okay as they seem to be short staffed sometimes. It took me longer to get some rolls because the waiter made a mistake in the order, but they finally brought it towards the end of my meal. The ambience at this place is good. Overall, if you are looking for the best sushi that is not that pricey, I would highly recommend this place.

Great lunch spot on the patio! Everything tasted fantastic but my favorite was the spicy tuna on crispy rice. I could eat 3 plates of that! Great service and nice patio setting.

We were shopping at Men's warehouse and saw and this place from across the parking lot so we decided to grab dinner here. It was early dinner we at 6pm on Saturday. We got a table for 2. My husband and I had the platter, feeds 1-2 people for $40, it was good amount of food. For some reason we ate 3/4 and were full. It came with 1 bowl each or miso soup and 1 bowl of salad, 2 bowls of rice and we did drink a lot of soda while waiting for the food. I had to ask for wasabi which server brought out with ginger. It took a while to get the server attention for refill and then when we were finish to ask for a togo box and our check so we can leave. The server was busy covering the dinning room, front desk and answering phones in the bar. The bathroom was completely out of toilet paper and seat liners. I notified staff. I'm not a fan of Japanese food or sushi so will most like not return. If you like it give it a try.

Salmon hand roll

I came around 11:30am on a Sunday and to my surprise, we were the only ones there. The restaurant was pretty nice and spacious, they even had an outdoor seating area. We walked in and we were greeted by the hostess who was very welcoming and kind enough to walk slow since I was with my 93 year old grandmother. Our waitress was okay... she didn't smile and I didn't really know where she was most of the time. The food was great, my grandma ordered a Nabeyaki udon, I ordered a tonkotsu ramen, and a salmon hand roll. The ramen was pretty good, but I especially enjoyed the salmon hand roll. There was a ton of salmon in it and it came with 2 pieces. Very well worth it. I'm pretty surprised they have a 3.5 star; Usually I would probably not go to a place with under 4 stars, but I gave it a shot because they're one of the only places in the area that has Nabeyaki udon (please add a tempura nabeyaki udon to the menu). I was very pleased, I'd definitely come back and would like to try more items on the menu or just stuff myself with those hand rolls.

Ask the Community - Kabuki Japanese Restaurant

Can I get sushi rolls with soy paper instead of nori?

Hello, yes you can make the roll with soy paper, but as long as it is a roll, not sushi, plus it is wrapped with seaweed. Hope this answer was helpful.

The chicken was seasoned so well. The shrimp pad Thai was delicious, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. We also got the green chicken curry with eggplant, which was so flavorful. My husband and I agreed it's one of the best curries we've had! The papaya salad was refreshing with a little spice. Since they're known for their Thai style chicken and rice, we tried that too. The fried chicken was my favorite, it was wonderfully crispy. We finished with Thai tea and a galaxy honey lemonade, both of which were refreshing and not too sweet. We started with the Blue Butterfly Pea Flower drink, and it honestly tasted like water with syrup. I asked our server about it and was told it was honey. He did offer to replace it, which I appreciated, but the interactions throughout the meal felt awkward and not particularly welcoming. We also waited quite a while to order while tables that arrived after us were helped quickly... The coconut shrimp was good and probably gave me too much hope for what was coming next. Crispy, flavorful, and paired with good sauces. The Thai tea was also really good. Unfortunately, the Panang seafood curry was a big letdown. The portion was small with a lot of rice, the squid was extremely chewy, and the catfish had a very strong fishy taste. There were also leaves left throughout the curry that were unpleasantly bitter when eaten. The pad kra pao was another disappointment. I was actually excited to see it on the menu since not every Thai restaurant around here offers it. We ordered medium, but this was WAY beyond what I would consider medium. I enjoy spicy food, but there's a difference between heat that enhances a dish and heat that keeps you reaching for water. The portion was also small compared with the amount of rice, and the fried egg was overcooked with basically no runny yolk. Presentation was nice, and there were definitely a few things I enjoyed, but between the portions, inconsistent food, service, and overall experience, I left disappointed. For Thai food in the area, I'd personally rather make the drive elsewhere. 3/10.

We got a variety of dishes to try out, and overall it was just ok. The soup was good but was a little light on ingredients, the papaya salad was decent with a little kick, noodles didn't really have much truffle taste but was ok, green beans were crunchy and probably the best dish here, and the mango sticky rice was not ripe. Most of the mango pieces were hard / not sweet and proportion to the rice was off. The staff was friendly and the space is very open and welcoming. Everything was creatively planned and decorated. It was also very clean and spacious inside and out. When you go in, there's a tea sampling station with the menus so you can see which tea you would like to order. Our server was really sweet, but she was the only one serving all of the tables, so she would come by every 10-20 minutes to check on us and some things we asked for didn't make it to the table. If they had more servers, customers would be happy with quicker service. The food and tea were delish! There were 6 of us so we shared a bunch of different teas. I really enjoyed the teas they had. The sweet and savory treats were really yummy! I really enjoyed them. Each person got 5 little savory treats and 4 sweet treats. I kind of wish we got one or two more for $45, but either way they were delicious! We had a great time and were sad to learn that the business will be permanently closing down tomorrow (6/28/26), I would have loved to continue going back!

BUT THIS ONE?? THIS IS DIFFERENT. The chicken is suuuuuper juicy tender like gushing out juice let me tell you. Not a single dry or over fried piece. You can also tell it's fresh chicken not something that's been fried and refried a million times. Also! The chicken is completely cooked while still being that juicy no sus looking bloody pieces here (yes yes I know it can be safe to eat, but I just don't enjoy that). AND!! The meat is so juicy and the skin is fried so crispy. Truly best of both worlds I had a great time. Also I will alwayssss prefer a dry rub over wet marinade AND THIS PLACE HAS IT DOWN SOOOOO GOOD!! They do variations of flavors so it's not just "Lemon Pepper" where sometimes it's just too sharp too sour for me (sorry wingstop) but "Lemon Pepper Curry" where now there's that savory flavor from the curry and is making everything more well rounded. Their seaweed flavor is also amazing (don't let the black color scare you) and tastes just like those fried seaweed snacks !!! Umami yes yes super good. The Lemon Pepper Curry ($1) and Gim ($3) add ons are super worth I promise. They even half the price when you order the flavored mixed so we paid 50 cents and $1.50 for the flavors. I cannot vouch for other flavors and next time I come back I will be getting these flavors again. And maybe just original fried because why not. The chicken is fried so good yknow?? Spicy Carbonara Tteokbokki ($17)-- Ok visually ngl they really threw me off with that broccoli so I had pretty low expectations like hmmm... interesting. BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD!! The dish and also surprisingly the broccoli in it. It's not too sweet like how some places do their rose (or like the buldak carbonara) and instead it's savory and rich almost like pasta sauce? I dipped the chicken in this sauce like the sauce was 10/10 amazing. They give you a sauce and pickled radish when you order. Sauce was ok not bad, but I just liked dipping in tteokbokki sauce more. And you don't even really need the sauce because the skin is so flavorful. Parking is easy since there's a big lot. Definitely will be back!!!
