Wow for the price you are paying i feel like the omakase set was so great! They even have a HH Mon - Wed 5-8 pm. We got a bottle for sake for 20% off. We got 2 omakse sets and chirashi! Really good. Will be back! Only down side is the chirashi bowl did not have sushi rice. That was disappointing! I probably would have deducted a star but overall enjoyed the experience and we got a free plate of the yuzu sea-bream and that was a nice touch for our first time here!
This is my new favorite sushi spot in the Brea area! The fish quality is always really fresh tasting. I like getting their chirashi bowl here since you get a few cuts of a variety of the standard fish along with some premium fish like scallop, uni, and sweet shrimp! Their uni pasta here is also really good. It has a good creamy, uni flavor along with an enhanced garlic flavor. This place has a nice ambiance for a date night or a casual dinner. The servers are very nice and attentive and the food comes out pretty fast. I've come to this spot a couple times already and I'll definitely be back to try out more things!
Great spot for skewers and sushi! The Trust Me Menu was delicious with assortment of sashimi presented beautifully. The bacon wrapped scallops were also super soft and delicious. Uni pasta wasn't bad, but manly tasted of Parmesan. A5 Wagyu plate was very rich and melt in your mouth and hamachi carpaccio perfect amount of acid and flavor. Chicken thigh skewer was on dryer side but 100% get the sashimi platter or bowl. Overall great spot and quality food
We found this while my parents were visiting and we've been back a few times!! Solid sushi spot, cute decor, nice staff. Only 4 stars cause they were out of several things while we were here, but it won't keep us from returning. Just means they have what the people want.
We've been coming here for a while now and the rolls, sushi, and service have always been consistent! I think they've been open for a little over a year now. The ambiance is very chill and cozy definitely a great spot to have conversations at.
servers were not attentive. The quality of ingredients were poor... I had to ask the cooks to re fry the shrimp heads bc it wasnt crunchy or breaded/ deep fried correctly. Pretty much came as boiled in oiled' shrimp heads... if you know sweet shrimp, you know it does not look like this. For $90 bucks worth of sashimi, sushi, and a couple of beers..., you would think they would put out more effort in presentation??? Like dang, at least add a cucumber or lemon or something.?!.. The sweet shrimp had spots on its tail-which means it was not live & older. Presentation and chefs had no pride, experience/ care. AYCE quality for the price of resturant quality is wild.Staff were not focused and talked amoungst each other like kids after school. Will not be returning. Waste of money. What I should have done was returned all of it back for the quality and presentation.... Prob the worst experience I've ever had in southern california. I only review sushi resturants when its bad. LOL Dont really care if it was a monday night. Look at my food compared to other photos. Like what in the world ?!
The foods are amazingly good. But ima be honest, it took about half an hour for one dish to come out. Then the waitress spent another half an hour talking to her friends instead of noticing customers. My meal takes almost an hour and a half. Then I asked her to pack the remaining dishes to go, she came back and asked me what else I'm waiting for. Bruhhh she read back the order when we first ordered. Sorry but never again
A lovely sushi spot with delicious dishes. Worth coming back to dine! I had: 1. Mango salmon crudo 2. Prime beef kushiyaki 3. Ika karaage kushiyaki 4. Pork belly kushiyaki 5. Uni Pasta 6. Sweet Shrimp/Ama ebi Sushi 7. Hokkaido Scallop/Hotate Sushi 8. Yellowtail Hamachi Sushi 9. A5 wagyu sushi 10. Soft shell Crab Slider 11. VIPS Only roll 12. Garlic Edamame 13. Octopus Tako Sushi 14. Go den snapper/kinmedal Sushi 15. Madai/Seabream Sushi 16. A5 Wagyu Entree
This spot gets packed!! After a long day walking around the Brea mall, we were starving and were craving sushi! We ended up doing take-out and had to wait an extra 20 minutes because they were that swamped! Our takeout order: Salmon Skin Salad* Karaage VIP Roll* Brea Roll Hamachi Kama (Yellowtail Collar)* *favorites Generous portion of salmon skin in the salad. VIP roll seemed to be popular and it ended up being our favorite roll. It has a variety of fish (salmon, tuna, yellowtail) so I can see why it's popular. The Yellowtail collar was grilled with lots of flavor. Karaage was a little dry for me. They had a lot of great options that we didn't order this round. We'll try to dine-in the next time and order more!
Service was great, maybe too attentive. Every roll was flavorful and didn't fall apart + Soft shell crab slider ($12): surprised to see them served in Hawaiian rolls, expected those white buns. Was okay, some sweet sauce (7.5/10) + VIPs only roll ($18 for 8pc): smokey and well packed (8/10) + Sunkiss roll ($18 for 8pc): refreshing with the ponzu sauce and lemon slice. (8.8/10)
Stopped by here at 1:30PM on New Year's Eve after leaving Kura because of a 1+ hour wait that we were not going to wait for. (But we still had the sushi craving.) At 1:30PM, there was 1-2 other tables with us in the restaurant. We were sat by in the booth closest to the door. (Definitely do not recommend this booth, there's decorative plants that kept me sitting at an angle the entire time so it didn't hit my head.) Both the food and drinks menu had a wide variety to choose from. We ordered 1 x Chirashi ($48), 1 x Toro Ikura Uni Don ($42), 1 x Tempura and 1 x Sweet Shrimp Sushi. For the price, the Chirashi and Toro Ikura Uni Don are slightly lacking compared to other $45-50 Chirashi/Dons. The bowl is on the smaller side and has a solid amount of fish but with 2-3 x smaller cuts each vs. some places that do a single cut of thicker fish. That one is a personal preference depending on your choice. My only gripe was the heads from the shrimp were not fried to the extent other restaurants would do the heads. After eating one, it had me wondering if it was meant to be eaten or if it was actually intended to be for presentation.
If you're looking for high quality premium sushi, sashimi of Izakaya, the Sushi Club is where you want to go! Everything was super fresh, expertly cooked or prepared and flavorful!!! From the most beautiful omakase and presentation to more casual bites, this sushi bar and Izakaya has it all for a great date night. As a part of my 50 First Date Series I am taking my parents to experience food they never got to try before. Eating here was an experience!!! My parents always shy away from raw fish or sushi so I wanted to take them to try very best spot to put it to the test, and so it was a no brainer to go to the SUSHI CLUB which is at nearly 5 stars on yelp!!! And I understand why. From their first Izakaya Kushiyaki skewers, raw oysters, uni, caviar and omakase, and A5 Wagyu ribeye, they got to enjoy the best of the best. As it turns out, they do like raw fish after all. Ate everything up! The Wagyu just melted in your mouth. My sister and I also enjoyed everything! Definitely recommend you try it and make sure to make reservations. The vibes were also great and intimate our servers Jennifer and Olivia were very attentive and so warm!
Such a cute place, very vibey! The food was delish and most of all, Michelle was so great! As a server myself back in the day, I can recognize when a server truly cares to provide a spectacular experience - Michelle definitely elevated our visit and was a highlight! She's attentive, friendly, and kind! Get the VIP roll! Thank you Sushi club and Michelle - we will be back and bring friends!
I may have just discovered my new excuse for not driving across town for sushi. I'd actually been here before for happy hour, which I enjoyed for the value--drinks, a variety of bites, and enough sampling to convince myself I was conducting "research." But I wanted to try the sushi before officially handing out my Yelp verdict. Verdict: this place is going into the rotation. We ordered the 20-piece omakase, and I liked that the chef wasn't afraid to get creative. This is definitely not traditional sushi, and that's a good thing. Yuzu and other unexpected touches were worked into several pieces to complement the fish and add some personality without turning every bite into a chemistry experiment. The service was excellent, too. Our chef even threw in a few extra pieces--which I will never object to. Free sushi is one of the few things in life that requires absolutely no convincing. I also love the location. It's close enough that this could become one of those dangerous neighborhood spots where "let's just grab a quick dinner" somehow turns into an omakase and a couple of drinks. Creative sushi, great service, good happy hour, and conveniently close to home. Basically, everything I need to make this a regular stop--and everything my wallet probably didn't need. read more

The food was great, the ambiance was nice, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal! The only area that could use some improvement is the service when guests first arrive. There wasn't a host at the front and no one greeted us, so our party wasn't sure if the staff even knew we had arrived. Also, when we were seated, our table didn't appear to have been properly wiped down. There were tempura crumbs and water rings from previous cups still on the table. With a little more attention to greeting guests and table cleanliness, this place could be even better. The food itself was great and definitely worth coming back for! read more
This might be my favorite sushi spot in Brea. The servers are attentive and friendly, and they even gave us a complimentary roll, which was so nice of them. The atmosphere inside is clean, cozy, and softly lit, making it perfect for a date night or catching up with friends. We visited during happy hour, and the deal was amazing, buy 2 rolls, get 1 free. Their happy hour also runs until 8 PM, which is a huge plus since most places end theirs much earlier. The appetizers were just okay in my opinion, but the sushi rolls were absolutely delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. I'll definitely be coming back! My favorite would be the salmon baked roll, but the mango tango and dragon roll were also really good. read more

First time trying this sushi restaurant as i saw the advertisement. Sushi rice was overcooked and very vinegar heavy, gyudon bowl was okay nothing special, sushi quality didnt taste fresh at all hints of fishy taste. Crispy rice has liquid everywhere which i never seen in my life. Unfortunately, this place was very underwhelming and disappointing. Cant believe i spent hard money to eat some sushi that was worse than Tokyo Central i mean damn Stater Bros sushi tastes better. read more

Came here for the first time for my friend's birthday. The location is very clean and provides a well lit but not too bright environment. I ordered the Luxe set as well as the Blue Crab and Uni Kaiseidon. It was very fresh and delicious! The price for it was pretty fair in my opinion too. The servers were very kind and I am also glad they offer yuzu kosho as a complimentary add-on to add to my order. I will definitely be back sometime in the near future! read more
PARKING (4/5): Parking is free in this plaza, but can get busy during peak hours (weekends and dinner time). Still shouldn't have an issue finding parking. AMBIANCE (4/5): It's at the end of the plaza next to a small Starbucks. If you've ever been to that Starbucks you'd think this restaurant might be the same size on the inside, but it's actually much larger than the Starbucks. It's a casual-ish spot. SERVICE (4/5): Service was quick for only having 2 waitresses for the entire restaurant. Sometimes had to flag ours down a couple of times cuz she was at the other side of the restaurant and trying to hustle so wasn't looking around at other tables. Might need 1 more server to have excellent service and not make tables wait. FOOD (3/5): I thought all the food was good quality, just nothing was incredible. It's a lot of non-traditional dishes in my opinion, but was nice to have something different. The rolls and carpaccios we ordered were just "different". $9 GARLIC EDAMAME: huge portion, great starter. $9 CRISPY RICE WITH SPICY TUNA: comes with 4 pieces. I didn't think it was spicy, but my friend who can't eat spicy stuff said it was spicy for her. This was good, rice portion was too big, at least for my tiny mouth to bite it, had to deconstruct. $24 BLUE CRAB SALMON CARPACCIO: it's a lot of blue crab! Texture is a bit mushy, could use something crunchy, but I still liked it. Very different, not your typical carpaccio. Blue crab is wrapped in Salmon! $28 TUNA CARPACCIO: spicy tuna wrapped in blue fin tuna. Another unique way to serve carpaccio. Was good, just needs something crunchy for texture otherwise it's all mushy. $29 FINE THANG ROLL: this also looked so unique and said it was popular so I had to try it. There is a TON OF CHIVES. Possibly, a little too much. But I loved the crunch of the pickled radish inside. Topped with blue fin tuna. Just different, but good, very light! Since it's mostly veggies. OVERALL (4/5): I wouldn't go out of my way for this place, but I do want to come back and try some of the more traditional dishes to reevaluate the restaurant as a whole. read more

5 star experience all around. Arriving at 8pm on a Monday night, there wasn't a wait but the place was mostly filled. Good ambiance. We opted to sit at the bar and got to interact a bit with the chef during our meal. We ordered the 8pc omakase ("trust me") which comes with 8pc nigiri, blue crab handroll, miso soup, cucumber/seaweed, and tamago. It was amazing. 5/5 for sure. We also got the 3pc a5 wagyu with uni and caviar but the chef was kind enough to give us 4 pieces! On top of that, we were given an extra hand roll each (chopped toro) so that was a nice surprise. For drinks I got the yuzu cocktail and my husband got the old fashioned. I loved my drink and will definitely order it again. For dessert we got the yuzu sorbet. Next time I would ask for less of the red sauce on top since just the white sorbet is refreshing enough for me. Parking easy peasy. All in all, great experience! read more
Came on a Friday night and there was no wait The interior of the restaurant is very modern and aesthetically pleasing, could be a good place for a date just for the vibes. I tried their waygu ribeye bowl, salmon & tuna roll. The waygu was pretty good- buttery and rich. But they definitely overcooked it. I prefer it medium rare, slightly pink in the middle. They didn't ask for a preference so i assumed it'd be medium rare. After all, who'd eat waygu well done? The salmon and tuna roll was nothing special. It was pretty fresh but the fish to rice ratio was so bad. 3 items after taxes and tips came out to $89. For this price i'd go to an ayce waygu place or ayce sushi. read more
Excellent sashimi (especially the tuna), sushi and other dishes. Highly recommend the carpaccio (sashimi cuts with different flavors and no rice, seared tuna which you can taste the smokiness, the VIP roll, seaweed salad and garlic edamame. The fried rice cakes topped with spicy tuna and salmon were alright. The hamachi nigiri was ok. The chicken karaage was a tad over-cooked and in the dry side. The soju manhatten cocktail was decent. We were full and happy. Prices are decent and portions are reasonable. read more

sushi club is the ideal spot for the perfect date night. the vibes, service, and food are of very high quality compared to other sushi restaurants in brea. the tuna is a must here. it is flown in almost every other day from spain or mexico. i recommend ordering the toro and adding some of their fresh pickled wasabi on top. their other items such as the garlic edamame, salmon skin salad, jalapeno hamachi carpaccio, and yuzu delight roll are my go tos. the portions here generous and they always comes out fresh and quick. make sure to order a side of their cilantro jalapeno mayo and their house mayo !! both of these sauces are made in house and are a great addition to any items you get. additionally, the owner, kenny, remembers his regulars and treats his guests well. this is an establishment where i always feel taken care of and would definitely want to return to try more of their menu. read more

Wow this place is a hidden gem. We didn't have any expectations for the takoyaki but it turned out really good. The sauce is great. We ordered a uni and toro bowl, uni was great, the decor was beautiful. Next time I want to try the chirashi bowl, it looks good as well. I also had the eel roll and it was great. One thing I didn't like was the ramen, the pork was good but the soup was salty. But it's okay because all other places are like that as well. Overall it was a great experience and I will come back. read more

Not a bad spot at all for the price point. The quality is solid and you get good value for what you're paying, which is getting harder to find for sushi in this area. We ordered the sweet shrimp and my daughter was hoping the fried head would come out extra crispy. We even asked when we ordered a second round, but it was prepared the same. No big deal, just something to note if you like it really crunchy. The space is on the smaller side but it has a hip, modern look that makes it feel lively without being too loud. Service was smooth and the food came out at a good pace. Big plus is the location. Right off the freeway so it's easy to get to and you don't have to deal with the usual local traffic. Overall a good, casual sushi stop and I'd come back again. read more

It was a busy Saturday night, but I got seated right away at the bar since I was alone. The service was great! The waitresses were friendly and were always on top of the order coming in. The food was delicious. I ordered the VIP roll, the Uni pasta, and the pork belly skewer. The VIP roll was so good I ate it all. The salmon and tuna on top were delicious. My mouth is watering as I type. The pork belly skewer was so crispy and regret just ordering one. This was my first time trying Uni and now I'm a big fan. Definitely trying it again. It was so soft. It didn't taste fishy to me. read more

Finding great sushi is a challenge. Most places are either overpriced or low quality. I'm particularly picky about yellowtail, which should never have that unpleasant, fishy odor. BUT the fish here is incredibly fresh, reasonably priced for the quality, and has officially become my new favorite go to spot for rolls! My favorites are the Yuzu Delight, the VIP, and the baked scallop rolls. The shishito peppers and baked mussels are well balanced with their sauce. My least favorite is the baked blue crab roll was a bit too sweet for my taste. I do really like blue crab but the sweetness was way too overwhelming. While the sweet shrimp nigiri was fresh, the heads weren't deep-fried long enough to be crunchy. The shrimp tempura was also underwhelming. The interior is nice, and the servers are incredibly nice, friendly, and attentive. Definitely coming back! read more
