Previously named MAKI YAKI sushi. This location still has delicious, high quality sushi and lots of fun options for AYCE. Even with the new owner / name change, the food, atmosphere and service remain outstanding. We will thankfully continue to come to this location to satisfy all our sushi cravings

A sashimi plate

My family visited this restaurant while in town visiting a friend. We ordered a sashimi plate and some tuna hand rolls. The fish was incredibly fresh and had perfect chewy texture. I wasn't a big fan of sashimi before, but that night completely converted me. My sons also loved the hand rolls and soup udon. The seasoned fish in the rolls paired perfectly with rice and veggies. The soup udon was one of the best! We loved everything! I was so bummed I don't live nearby. We can't wait to come back next time we're in town. Best of luck!

Menu

Probably the best AYCE sushi place in the area in terms of food quality to price ratio. They have à la carte menu as well. Fresh fish. Great friendly service. It's a mom and pop place and I love to support these type of small businesses. Great ambience as well. 100% recommend!

from maki yaki to now kohuku sushi, this place has been my favorite go-to sushi spot for over 3-4 years. i've been bringing people here whenever i get the chance & nobody has told me they disliked it once and always asks why when we're coming back :) everything is so fresh and delicious. haven't ever gotten sick from this place either! (a record if you ask me) all the staff are so lovely and accommodating, i've not once had a bad experience here. the overall vibe is also so cozy! wonderful lighting & music playing in the background that's not super loud. if you're here to eat alone or with friends, both their ayce & regular menus have a wide variety of things to choose from. there's gonna be something for everyone! 11/10, would recommend for anyone looking for a new go-to sushi spot

One of the very few places in the OC that I love going to with my close friends on a Wednesday…read morenight. Especially when the Art Of Sax plays here! My go to meal here is specifically something light and good. Don't want anything too heavy, especially dancing on the dance floor, lol! The Irish Country Salad I posted in the pic has apples, goat cheese, candied walnuts, croutons, frisee, radicchio, drizzled with honey vinaigrette. I highly recommend this salad when coming here! Our server, Devin was pretty good despite the place was packed and he had alot of tables to wait on. My food came out pretty quick and he did check up on our table from time to time which is awesome. Never had an issue here service wise. Wednesday nights are always a fun night here with food, singing, and dancing!

Macallan's has the look of an Irish pub; dark wood, Celtic décor, the whole atmosphere is there…read more But if you're going to lean into Irish identity, the details matter, especially with Guinness. I've watched it poured straight into a regular pint glass with no 45-degree angle and no pause for the proper two-step pour. It comes out flat, with barely any creamy head, which completely changes the texture and experience. Guinness isn't just another draft beer; it needs to settle, and it should be served in a proper tulip or Guinness glass to get that classic presentation. The fix is simple: slow the pour down and train the staff on the traditional method. The pub has the vibe. Now it just needs to respect the pint.

Passed by this place and decided to give it a try. What a unique German restaurant right in Brea…read more It instantly reminded me of the Hofbräuhaus in Vegas with its friendly and welcoming food hall. I'm not super familiar with German cuisine, but everything felt authentic and traditional. I ordered their popular Ruben sandwich, served hot with corned beef, sauerkraut, and a Russian dressing on rye bread. It was delicious and packed with meat and flavor. The fries that came along with it were so crispy and tasty. I also tried the breaded veal cutlet, which is a German specialty. Both dishes were very good and hearty. They also have a great beer selection on draft. I went with the Spaten Pilsner, which paired perfectly with the meal. I love that each of their beers is served in its own branded glass. It was just super filling, I wasn't able to finish everything. Overall, a great experience and definitely a spot I'd come back to and try their various specialties (like their sausages) !

I said I would be just ordering a beer while waiting on my friend, and the bartender let me sample a couple before making my decision for a nice German beer. I decided to sit outside and enjoy the warm sunshine, and a server came out to check on me. My friend had texted a different place for dinner, so I visited the clean ladies room, paid my tab, and received a warm farewell and invitation to return for dinner another time. Neat place, solid German menu, and super friendly staff will make this a dinner stop for me in the future!
