The curry tastes like my grandmas and that's hard to do. Not sure if it's homemade or a curry concentrate (grandma doctor golden curry cubs lol) The only thing that caught me off guard this last time I was there was being charged 50 cents for Sriracha on a to go order. Oof. I hate to leave 3 stars for this joint, especially after the exceptional service, the on-point ambiance and a menu that read like sushi's greatest hits. But win some lose some I guesses I ordered the bento 2-piece combo, which looked like a good deal, two items plus soup, salad and rice. My spicy tuna roll was flavorful, with good heat and texture; salad was excellent, and miso was miso -- nothing special but hit the spot. The second part of the bento however -- the sesame chicken -- was close to inedible. Heavily breaded and then criminally overcooked to the point where it was as hard as gravel. I could find some softer bits of chicken if I dug way deep but it was just a few slivers. So disappointing after all that other good stuff. I would come back but order something different; the place has potential even in the weird empty mall location. read more

The sushi was good but a little small for the up charge. I paid $4 extra for the sushi (not worth it) and $1 for the roll. Now, my issue is this, if you are touting a lunch special, then make it a good value. The two item bento was already priced ($ 18) to have easily covered the options without being up charged, in my opinion. My friend had hot green tea and I had iced green tea. Both were very good with free refills. The menu itself was huge, with lots of selections and options. Service The waitress was attentive, helpful, but not constantly hovering. The food took a while (20 minutes) to make but the service was good. Ambiance As this place is tucked away off Harbor and there are only a few places left in that complex, it is easy to get the impression this place may be a little divvy. It was very nice and clean inside. Low lighting, well appointed tables, booths, and sushi bar. It gave good vibes. Value for price The total bill for this was $68 for two people inclusive of tip. Not terrible, but also not lunch special pricing. The rolls seemed a little high in price too. Maybe that is the by product of being one of the last businesses here, or a sign of the times. I double checked my order on my end everything was included in the order. She then texted me back that there was a note written and left on the receipt that they ran out of her bosses order. I am pretty sure that you are supposed to notify Postmates or Uber Eats of any out of stock or missing items so that they would notify the buyer to change and update the order. Delicious! -2 sushi rolls BOGO for 50% off - Happy hour menu: 2 salmon handrolls, 1 spicy tuna handroll, takoyaki, eggroll, and 2 sashimis (salmon & yellowtail). HH ended at 4pm when we were there on a Saturday. Everything we got were tasty and prepared fresh. -Complimentary 3 miso soups and a birthday matcha ice cream cake.
