First time here, but the experience was very disappointing. The service was attentive, but the food during lunch was terrible. The miso soup was overly salty, and the bento items (tonkatsu and tempura shrimp) were overcooked and extremely dry. Even the three pieces of sashimi were tasteless, and I ended up with an upset stomach afterward. I'm not sure if there is a professional chef overseeing the kitchen during weekday lunch hours. Super disappointed in this establishment... The two waitresses were so busy socializing and drinking with the men at the bar that we got seated 10 mins later when the restaurant was nearly empty. Seemed pretty unprofessional that the waitresses were throwing back beers with the customers to be honest. What a fantastic experience! I am sad that I did not try this place sooner. I made a reservation for 2 people last Friday at 5:30. The service was wonderful. We were instantly given some complimentary miso soup while we looked over the menu. The server had informed us that the salmon was super fresh and just arrived. We tried so many things! We had garlic edamame, mixed tempura, salmon carpaccio, Philadelphia roll, lovely salmon roll, rainbow roll, and 2 spicy items featuring spicy tuna. Everything was so flavorful!! The lovely salmon roll was my favorite. The lemon was so refreshing with the fresh salmon. The soju drinks were also lovely. We had passion fruit and they let us try the raspberry. My daughter and I went in for lunch today. Not too busy in there probably three or four tables with people in it. A couple of dirty tables. Ordered an iced tea, tempura appetizer, and two rolls. After about 15 minutes watching the waiter on the phone for quite a while still no drinks no appetizer. So after waiting 20 minutes, he brings our rolls over. We went for dinner on a Friday evening. There is a ton of parking available. The ambiance is simple and quaint. A very comfortable Japanese restaurant. You can tell that they have a lot of repeat customers by the way the staff greets so many of them by name. You can't beat the personal touch. We got mixed tempura which was crispy and light batter with delicious and sweet vegetables and shrimp. Perfect way to start our meal. Next up was a yellow submarine sushi roll. It was almost too pretty to eat. The jalapeños and the yellowtail along with a tropical flower made the roll really stand out. It was refreshing and delicious. The quality of yellowtail told us we weren't going to be prepared for the freshness of the rest of the sashimi and sushi we had ordered. We had the sashimi mix next. Large, thick cut and some of the freshest sashimi ever was in front of us. We added the Toro which was well worth the extra $5. We couldn't get over how each piece melted in our mouths. This place is located in a litte strip mall with plenty of parking and it's easy to find! Inside is beautifully decorated and has a chill vibe with it. You're greeted very warmly here and feel very welcomed as soon as you entered. And the welcomed feeling stays throughout your stay! The quality of the food is amazing! Starting with the tempura! It's crispy perfectly cooked, and definitely full of flavor! The miso soup is quite delicious. Very comforting and warm. Our waitress would be completely MIA at times. When someone else would bring a dish we would try to order other things but it's like everyone just flat out ignored us. My order was wrong. But I just ate it anyway because we were on a time limit and items were taking forever. We asked if our bill could be split (before she took any orders because we're polite) and she said yes. We came ftom SF to visit my daughter's family and she wanted us to all meet at Ginzaya. Parking was plentiful. On a Tuesday evening, we arrived around 6:15pm and was seated quickly for a party of 4 adults, infant, and 4 years old child. The dining room was fairly filled and clean. Our waitress was very nice and helpful with ordering our food. We ordered several bento boxes and sushi plates. The food was fresh and tasty. The portions were large which we took home. Our the food was severed within 20 minutes. We were amazed how our waitress was able to cover several tables . The restroom both men's and women's rooms were clean. The waitress was so kind that she severed use ice cream which the kids loved. It was nice that the staff all said bye! It felt nice as if we were family. I recommend this place. read more

Went here after a show at the La Mirada Theater. Very spacious and had no wait for us so we were seated immediately (although it did fill up some minutes later). Service was very nice (if a little overwhelmed that day). I appreciated that they knew that things were taking awhile before we said anything and the sweet server gave us a free dessert to make up for it. The green tea and fried oreo were really good so I'm glad we got to try it otherwise I'm not sure if we would have ordered it since we were so full. The portions here are really awesome and you definitely get a bang for your buck here, which is so important in these times. Everyone in my party were very satisfied with what they got. Nothing blew us away but I would say it did the job and the menu was pretty extensive so there's something for everyone. Plus they had Dodgers on the TV. What more could you ask for? read more
