We have been customers for a few years. This was one of our top two sushi places in the area. We usually do take out and order in advance. The past several times, they gave us a time and we got there around the time our food was supposed to be ready only to have to wait another 20+ min. A better name for Sushiholic should be "Teriyaki N' Sushiholic" because their teriyaki chicken and beef... the sauce is just as amazing as their sushi rolls. Yes who can resist their spicy sliced jalapeño topped Peppered Salmon Roll or their texture paradise "Jessica Roll" that's like a Rainbow Roll but with crunchy tempura inside. I feeling extra crunchy today and enjoyed their Calmari Tempura served with their addictive spicy mayo! The other side of Sushiholic that outshines the creative rolls has to be their teriyaki plates. I can't say which is better, chicken or beef because both are delicious. What's makes a good teriyaki is of course their sauce. It's a great balance of sweet, salty and saucy but not too sticky. The way this spot grills their chicken and beef is just perfect. The beef is tender and not dry at all. That also goes for the grilled chicken. Even if it didn't have the sauce, the teriyaki meats still have flavor. Service is attentive. I came on a Sunday for lunch. I ordered a roll and mixed tempura. I forgot the name of the roll but it was basically a California roll with eel and avocado on top of it. I enjoyed both items I ordered. The prices were reasonable and the service was pretty good. It was definitely busy but that's always a good sign. That means customers get fresh fish. To me, it's your typical mom and Pop shop focused on sushi. It is owned by a Korean couple and they have hired high school or college student to help. I plan to come back to try other items. After saying I would stop by to try the food for 2 years, I finally did. I'm sad to say that it was not good at all. First, the customer service was lacking. We were not welcomed nor asked if we needed assistance. The overhead menu is very dark and hard to read. The ambiance of the location is drab and dark so we decided to order to go. We tried the gyoza, veggie egg rolls, cucumber salad, water eel roll (not what we originally ordered, she messed up), and 2 pieces of tuna sushi. Every item was watery and disappointing besides the cucumber salad. The rolls were unusually warm and the avocado did not taste very fresh. The veggie egg rolls were very soggy as if they were once frozen, defrosted, and not crisped up all the way through, the gyoza was also wet, fell apart at the touch, and severely lacked flavor. The sushi pieces tasted more like water than fish. Was everything frozen first? The cucumber salad was the only thing that tasted as it should. My family are legit sushi and sashimi lovers and knew from the overall appearance of the order that this wasn't going to go well. I should have canceled the order and left when I saw a pot of seafood in running water in the sink behind the sushi chefs. Was this just a bad day or have they gone down? Saw a TikTok of this place and immediately sent it to my husband. It was for this big back style bento box if I recall but we ultimately didn't get that. My husband was running errands in the area and came in to get us some lunch to go. I got a crunch roll, because that is my go to roll and I can usually gauge whether the place is good from how their crunch roll is. I also always get edamame too. That's also a tell on how the place is. If their edamame is good, the place usually is too. I was in a hurry so I quickly skimmed the menu but they offer a variety of foods. I'll def have to try again. We ordered a crunchy shrimp roll, 3 orders of California roll and edamame and I think chicken teriyaki bowl and it came out to $53 ish which isn't bad. We got our favorite, Pink Lady, along with Mango Salmon & Baked Scallop Roll. We also got their delicious Salmon Skin Salad with avocado and their spicy garlic edamame. It was the perfect spicy garlicy taste you want in your garlic edamame. Since it was takeout we didn't get serviced, however the order only took 15 minutes to prepare so I'm sure it would have been just as good in house. To begin, the service was EXCELLENT! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We had 3 rolls during our visit and all 3 were delicious! The Pink Lady was a yummy rice free roll with salmon crab and avocado, the baked lobster roll was one of the better ones I've had! I think the topping was especially tasty, there was plenty of lobster(crawfish) cheese, caramelized purple onion, and LOTS of crab, over a California roll! It was definitely our favorite of the three! Last we had a basic Philadelphia Roll. This roll was basic, but a good size! We were very full at the end! I had to remove one star for a few reasons, first, in my fresh rolls I like the fish to be cold- this fish wasn't warm, but it was about room temperature, seems to take away the fresh feeling, although it tasted fresh the room temp is off putting to me. Second, compared to all the sushi restaurants I've been to there were no little extras... no miso soup or mini salad served, no edamame, no lemon slices on the side, nothing complimentary at all that makes it really stand out, like a restaurant might give a bread basket or something. Finally, if you pay with card they bring the iPad and stand there while you decide the tip and sign for your check, I'm a good tipper, but it felt a little awkward! I might have left more if I had a moment to think, but I felt pressured by the iPads automatic tip recommendation... The price was average, it was not cheaper than others, just about the same. We spent over $50 with tip for the 3 rolls, no drinks. We will visit again though and give it another try! read more
