One thing I like to do at an AYCE sushi restaurant is to mass-order the nigiris and rolls so that they are presented on a large wooden platter just for the show. This is PURE SPECTACLE. Of course, I would end up finishing whatever that we ordered, but this opportunity mostly knocks on your first round. If you can do this on your second or even third, you, my friend, are a monster that can devour with a great appetite. I also noticed that the amount of rice served comes in a tiny portion, as well as the cut of the fish, smaller than a typical nigiri. And somehow, it feels like it is playing tricks in your head that you ate a lot; therefore, you have accomplished your mission. However, I think if you ate around twenty pieces, you technically finished half at a typical sushi restaurant, which is still a lot of fish in your belly. read more

Poor service, extremely unprofessional, and unpleasant to be argued with and have the owner raise her voice at us. Please go give your money to a business that treats their customers with respect and courtesy. The waiter was not attentive and checked on us one time. The owner yelled and argued with us at our table as we told them we got one roll and our party size of 3 had been charged for all you can eat sushi and we were waiting on our second order which didn't come until the we asked for the check and wanted to leave. AYCE sushi was dangerously good. Like... "we're not leaving anytime soon" good. Rolls kept coming, fish was fresh, and we were fully committed to the all-you-can-eat lifestyle. But the real MVP was the service. One server running the whole place all night and she handled it like a boss. Always checking on us, drinks never empty, orders flying out like she had clones. Back again! All you can eat sushi! It doesn't get better than that! My husband does the all-you-can-eat premium sushi for $40. That's such a great deal!! You get 10 items each time and 3 rounds total. All in all, you could eat 30 items if you wanted. That's a ton of sushi! lol This time, I wanted to try something different. I got the salmon teriyaki last time, and this time I went for the vegetable udon. The vegetable udon was HUGE! They brought this giant bowl of soup that was scorching hot!!! The restaurant is brightly lit inside and the decor and music makes it feel very lively. Service is fast and I appreciate that the waitress checks in on us frequently. I took off a star because I still prefer the neighboring ayce sushi locations. One complaint is that the sushi proportions are slightly off. The sushi has a double layer of rice in some areas. Overall pretty great experience but other ayce restaurants like Kairi or Aikan have more variety while also maintaining a very high quality. read more

We came to fill the sushi craving for dinner and were slightly disappointed. The restaurant is spacious and lively; the service was quick and efficient. However, the food could be better. The best part of dinner was sadly the mixed tempura. Second was the sashimi since they were fresh. One of my favorite part of sushi is the unagi, so I was sad to get some pretty dry unagi here, making them hard to get through. I not a big fan of rolls because of how much rice they pack, and there were extra bad because bottom part comes with overlapping rice. I was excited to try the chicken yakitori, and I was the thoroughly surprised that it was fried soy sesame chicken on a stick. I was also disappointed to find out that I don't get a ramen option. Overall, this is an alright place that open until late. I probably won't be back as there are other options that I prefer over this. read more

Nope. In fact on Weekends they charge dinner prices. Haven't been back to Hello Sushi since we found the great place in San Diego. Also some of their employees don't wear face masks as you can see my previous Yelp review regarding this!!

Now, I should probably explain that I am VERY new to seafood. My girlfriend has slowly been introducing me to sushi and different types of fish, and I've discovered some things I absolutely love and others that I still can't get past. So when everyone said omakase, I'll admit, I was a little intimidated. But as someone currently on a mission to explore seafood, challenge accepted. We started with the cucumber sunomono, and this was an excellent way to begin. I added some fresh ginger and absolutely loved it. Light, refreshing and immediately had me excited for what was coming next. Then came the asari clam miso soup. This one wasn't really for me, but I gave it a solid try! That's basically the entire point of this seafood adventure anyway. Next was the chef's choice sashimi, which I believe included salmon belly and yellowtail, and this was REALLY good. Beautiful cuts, great texture and flavor. Raw fish continues to be where I'm finding my happy place. Then came the main event: the nigiri. This was probably the most adventurous I've gotten with seafood yet. We had everything from uni and bluefin toro to kampachi, madai, scallop, black cod and unagi. I especially loved some of the lighter-colored fish with the bright, citrusy yuzu flavors. Those were easily some of my favorites. The food also started coming FAST. I remember scarfing down what I thought was my last piece of nigiri only for another plate to immediately appear with the unagi and black cod. I've learned from my previous seafood adventures that I really like unagi, and that held true here. The unagi was delicious. Black cod, however, has now gotten multiple chances from me and I think I'm finally ready to admit we're just not meant for each other. There's a particular fishy flavor that I haven't been able to get past. We finished the omakase with the negi toro hand roll, cut in two, and by the end I felt like I'd just completed an entire crash course in sushi. We also added a few things outside the omakase, including jalapeño bombs and chicken karaage. And after ALLLLLL that sushi... The chicken karaage was my favorite thing of the night. I know. I know. I survived an entire omakase, tried uni, toro, kampachi, madai, scallop, black cod and eel...and walked away talking about the fried chicken. But that karaage HIT. Overall, this was an awesome experience and I'm genuinely glad my girlfriend convinced me to jump into the deep end. The omakase helped me try several types of fish I probably never would have ordered individually and, more importantly, helped me figure out what I actually enjoy. Would I do the omakase again? Probably not, but that's not a knock against it at all. I feel like it accomplished exactly what I wanted it to. Next time I'd love to come back knowing what I like and explore the rest of the menu, maybe a bento or another entrée. For a former "I'm not a seafood guy" slowly figuring out that maybe I actually am a seafood guy...Kaori Sushi was one hell of a training session.

Arriving at 8:55 p.m., a full hour before closing time at 10:00 p.m., we were promptly seated by our waiter. Immediately, we were informed that despite being an AYCE establishment, we could only order a la carte. The reason provided was puzzling: apparently, due to having only one chef on duty, ordering a la carte would ensure our meals arrived promptly without delay. This explanation seemed illogical to me since we would have ordered the same amount of food regardless of the serving method. Disheartened by this unexpected restriction and feeling unwelcome due to the rushed explanation, we made the decision to leave. It's disappointing that such a crucial detail like the change in service format was not disclosed anywhere until we sat down. Yesterday , on Wednesday April 13, 2022. I went to hello sushi, Fullerton for dinner with my girlfriend. This is her first time trying sushi. This is the first time happens to me in the same night i got bad experience from hello sushi. 1. Dirty plate was served to me 2. I order ice water for my drink. As i finished half of my drink, i found a sponge left inside my cup. It was white sponge. So i requested for new cup and new drink. All i got just an apology from server. I have been to this restaurant for years. And this is the first time i experience. In this situation usually, the manager should come to table to apologize and offer something in the house or maybe at least a discount on the check. But i did not have the manager come to the table for apology. Nor compensation...for bad experience i got from the restaurant. Other than that .. everything else is good. Once we arrived, the waiter was ready to seat us down so there is no waiting time. Plus, we are talking about a saturday here so that already was excellent! The point is I was in a party of 9 and our service was good until the food came out. But becuase they automatically charge you 18% gratuity fee it felt like they no longer needed to do a follow up to see how everything was for us. Once food was delivered we no longer saw anyone. We wanted to order more food and ask for refills but after about 45 minutes of waiting we just decided to pay and leave. We walked up to the front to ask for the check and the employees were just standing at the front talking. My first experience there was not well enough for me to return. As a former employee DO NOT EAT HERE. They fill old ginger buckets with ice, wait for the ice to melt and scoop them to serve water. Sometimes will fill a large clear container with water that gets cross contaminated when people wash their hands. Their random cups are usually mouth side down on a rusted counter top. Never fully dry. It's absolutely disgusting inside the kitchen. There's dried food everywhere and I don't think they've ever once cleaned any corner of their establishment. This "mom and pop" style aesthetic they have is super unclean for a place to serve raw fish. People buy into it cause it's convenient but truly I'm surprised more people haven't gotten sick from this place. read more

She checked on us constantly and got us everything we ordered. The food was really good . Our server came to take our check and asked if we could leave a yelp review, which we told her we would do. She didn't come back with our card or receipt until we left one, and yes she asked to check our phone. She held onto our card for 15 minutes until she seen we had left one. Kim spoke with her coworker and they were able to accommodate. Kim took our order ahead of time so the staff could prepare for us. When our group got to Hello Sushi, we had Militon as our server. AMAZING SERVICE!!!! He was very patience with us. He was quick with everything. Very professional and friendly. He continued to check in with our group periodically. We opted for rolls with mostly salmon in them. You can't go wrong with salmon. They tasted fresh and overall good. The restaurant feels small. Not to sound picky but there seems to be a lot going on around the register area which is a little distracting when you're trying to enjoy a nice meal. You want to feel relaxed and comfortable when eating good food. But the overall service is friendly. Might possibly come back.

The handrolls were fresh and packed with flavor, the fish was beautifully presented, and the grilled skewers had that perfect char and smoky-sweet glaze. The shishito peppers were another favorite. The open-kitchen setup makes it fun because you can watch everything come together right in front of you. Between the fresh food, variety of dishes, and attentive service, we really enjoyed our visit. Definitely a spot I'd return to. Still a few things on the menu I need to try!
