I came to Sushi Pop for a weekday dinner with my friend and really enjoyed it! They menu consists of a variety of sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and a few rice bowls and noodle dishes if you're not feeling sushi. I ordered the Euclid roll and enjoyed it! We were also given tempura that had stuffed imitation crab in it on the house and thought that was very good (and so nice of them!). Service here is super friendly and attentive. The store itself is on the casual side, but is cozy. When I came on a weekday at around 7, there was no wait. It is located in a strip mall with a lot of parking. Overall, this is a solid sushi spot!
Stated that wait time was 20 minutes have been waiting over 40 minutes. Was about to get seated by one employee, but female employee intervened and made us wait an additional 30 minutes. Mind you there are empty tables and we are holding a 1 year old infant. Wish all employees would be more considerate of their customers. To top it off I over heard a table raising a concern about their meat being undercooked. Get more staff please, do better. This place has gone DOWNHILL. Last time we visit this place until they can hire more employees

After a movie with the grandkids, they really wanted to get some sushi. We looked on Yelp, and this spot had decent reviews and was super close by, so we decided to try it out. The kids had a California roll, a poke bowl, and shrimp tempura. I tried the Alaskan roll and the udon soup. Everything was good, although a bit on the pricier side. The service is friendly and quick, and the restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere.
Came back again and food was just as good! The crunch roll was very delicious and fish was very fresh. We got Morgan as our server and he was very kind and checked up on us multiple times! Loved the ice cream here too

The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and served warm and timely--exactly how you want it when you're craving something satisfying. Every dish came out with consistent quality, and you can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. Our waiter was truly exceptional. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling overbearing. They checked in at the perfect moments, made great recommendations, and kept everything flowing smoothly. It really elevated the whole dining experience. Overall, delicious food, great service, and a place I'd happily come back to. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable sushi spot.
I've passed by this restaurant on numerous occasions and stopped by for the first time today. Our waiter Haram (very sweet albeit the name haha) was so sweet and attentive. The restaurant has a fun lively atmosphere especially with their 90s and 80s hits playlist. We ordered the poke bowl, sashimi bowl and the lobster dynamite bowl. Usually poke bowls at sushi places are quite small with the spare cuts of meat. To my surprise there was plenty of fish, perfect amount of yummy sauces, and a large portion. The food was beautifully presented as well. The fish itself wasn't the freshest (mom and I went 6pm Thursday). They even served us quite a large portion of ice cream, and 2 sushi pieces on the house.
Food is really good but sushi chef (might be owner) needs to get training or help because at the time that I arrived they didn't have much customers besides 2 families and he kept going off on his employee which if she did anything wrong I would suggest to talk to her maybe in the back but he kept yelling and making comments in front of everyone which made everyone very uncomfortable again food is good and service from that employee was amazing but that chef or owner needs to fix that

We came hungry and they were ready for us. We were seated quickly, got some tasty edamame and drinks right away and got out order in very quickly. The server was courteous and diligent. The sushi rolls were amazing. The vibe was good. Would highly recommend

It's been awhile since I've been here but don't let the Happy Hour "Everything 20%off" fool you. Not everything is 20% off. Drinks and alcohol are full price. What else is not covered?? DECENT FOOD, TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT I've been here twice, and I can honestly say I think the food is decent, but the manager needs additional training or something. Let me tell y'all what happened and why I will not go back, ever. Service: 0/5 I ordered food to-go for my staff members birthday; I waited about 40 mins. Like others have said, they're very short staffed here and maybe that's problem #1. After some time went by, I think they realized I was sitting for a very long time for a small to-go order, so they rushed & possibly didn't secure my bag of food properly. I ordered a spicy YAKIUDON noodle meal, spicy edamame, and a fried "San Diego". When the young man gave it to me, I asked him if it was secure because it feels heavy and I'm taking it to my staff member and wanted it to be ready for him to eat. He said everything was there, it was packaged well, and sorry for the wait. WELL- LONG STORY SHORT IT WASN'T. lol. I immediately called after I got to my staff members job (15 mins away) and nothing was secure. It leaked so badly EVERYWHERE! My car, my clothes, the food was soggy- it was a literal disaster. After calling- the man apologized profusely and said he will replace EVERYTHING and to come back any time. My staff member and I were out of lunch and it was honestly embarrassing because it was their birthday. I wasted my time, spent 2x the money, and I had an extremely dirty car. I took pics, threw the food away, and went back a few days later. When I got there- the cook/ possibly owner was MAD as heck when the guy told him I was there to recollect my order. After shouting and shaking his head- I saw him cooking. When my bag came- it was awfully light and a very tiny box. I asked the server if that was everything and he was so embarrassed and kept saying he was sorry that the owners said "no." They will not replace it after all. They gave me a literal small side of noodles and that's it. The meal I originally bought came with rice, a salad, a dumpling etc. I also didn't get the edamame, or the fried San Diego! All around- I felt bad for the young man who was so embarrassed and ultimately put in the middle. He said it was wrong what they're doing to me but ultimately this place was going back on what they should do to make it right. I didn't make a scene or argue, I opted to never come back. F O O D OMG everything was absolutely scrumptious! We got a combination of fried and fresh options: Rainbow Spider Roll Scallop Roll Hooters Roll Crunch Shrimp Roll I'm hard pressed to decide what my favorite roll was. I saw that there were tons of options such as ramen, curry and such, but we were craving sushi and it did not disappoint. It's a bit out of the way now that I live in HB but if I'm in the area and craving Japanese this is definitely my to-go spot from now on. I also saw that they have weekday Happy Hour! S E R V I C E The service was so good! It wasn't too busy when we came during the week, but the service was still very good considering it seemed like there was only one server and one chef working. I always appreciate when staff provide good service at all times, especially when it's slow because they're not taking advantage and slacking off. The food, the service and ambience are exactly what I expect when I go out to eat, especially when I have my 2 kids. The udon, chicken and vegetable, neither one of my kiddos left a drop. The sushi, we did about 7 orders of nigiri sushi and every one of them hit. The Angels special roll was out of left field and fantastic. I'll def be back for the rest of the menu. The sushi rolls were perfect . Tasty and well presented. We ordered the sexy shrimp rolls, baked lobster Baked salmon and they have a kids menu and we got the grilled beef. It comes with steamed rice , 2 dumplings and salad . The inside is pretty and clean . The servers were attentive. read more

I ordered and paid in advance on Friday because I needed it Monday evening. When I arrived at the pickup time, they had completely forgotten my order. They said it would take 15 minutes, but I was worried it would be rushed, so I picked up other food first and came back 45 minutes later. It used to have AYCE, but they stopped during pandemic shutdown and then never brought it back due to inflationary pressure on the cost of fish and other ingredients.

Nope. They have a great selection on a-la-carts sushi and other foods as well.

I love both but sushi pop is my regular spot. Service and price is way better. Quality at damu is slightly better but not enough to make me choose it over sushi pop!
