With inflation continuing to drive up dining costs, AYCE options have become an increasingly popular and practical dining choice. The Sushi by Jin is a convenient and affordable option in the area for those craving variety of sushi without breaking the bank and long wait. Even though the restaurant is small and may look outdated, the atmosphere is casual and not too crowded. We came during weekdays lunch, service was good, and orders arrived quickly Menu here offerings a wide selection of rolls, nigiri, and appetizers, just like any typical AYCE sushi spots. While the quality doesn't quite compare to à la carte sushi spots, the rolls, nigiri sushi, and sashimi we had were all fresh and delicious, fish selection, texture, and freshness were all above average, definitely worth a try.

It was my first time trying this sushi place because I wanted some AYCE sushi. I think that the price and quality are pretty on par. The menu has a good amount of selections and I enjoyed all the fresh sushi pieces I tried! I went for dinner on a Saturday night and did not have to wait long for seating. The service was fairly quick and the workers were very attentive. I would definitely revisit if I wanted Ayce and am in the area!

Small AYCE restaurant - it'll do the job if you're craving, but service is very slow and rolls are served in full sizes so you get full faster (I prefer AYCE places that serve half rolls so you can taste test more rolls). The salmon & bluefin toro sashimi were the stars of the show -- doesn't melt in your mouth but still got a nice fatty bite. Pink Lady was the best roll -- I really enjoyed the cold big bite of salmon & imitation crab. The crispy rice & spicy tuna was alright -- rice wasn't the crispiest but the avo and spicy tuna on top are still yum. Overall, probably wouldn't come back because the service was too slow (and forgot my miso soup both rounds...sad). Food was alright tho, would consider doing a la carte for the sushi fix.

Baseball and sushi. Our players were so excited to go have sushi today!! As soon as we sat down they knew they wanted spicy rolls, chicken teriyaki, edamame, shrimp, etc. Our patient and kind server was awesome as we chose All You Can Eat and we went 3 rounds of hand rolls, scallops, eel, salmon, tuna, and shrimp. The chefs were amazing and the kids were full in the end, except for the free ice cream. Thank you Sushi by Jin. Our lunch was delicious.

I'm fairly new to the sushi game. I've only been eating sushi for a couple years, but out of all the places I've been to in the Bay Area, Maui, and SoCal, this is probably my favorite. Everything was fresh and flavorful and the service was top notch. Definitely coming back.

First time and decided to do ayce regular lunch for $29.99 per person. I figured 2 rolls would be the equivalent of $30 so I went for the ayce in order to try a variety of things for the same price. The bill came out to about $80 for 2 people including a 20% tip and one coke. You get 80 minutes and 3 rounds. There is a premium ayce for about $38 with more choices. We got to try a variety of things from miso soup to salad, sushi, no rice rolls, and speciality rolls. They also served us something crispy with fish and sauce on top on the house so that was nice. We also requested thin lemon slices to eat with sushi (it is a game changer to add a thin slice of lemon on sushi and eat it!). We ended the meal with green tea ice cream. All in all we did enjoy our food and if I was in the area I wouldn't mind coming back. 4.4 stars!

This was my second visit and it was the best value for money. I'm so sorry that I only ate sushi, but thank you so much for making it so quickly and deliciously. The servers are also very friendly and fast, so I praise them. Whenever I feel like sushi, I just go here. The sushi is reasonably big and easy to eat. Most All You Can sushi restaurants look pretty and are made very small. Most sushi restaurants look good but have nothing to eat.

A HIDDEN SUSHI GEM IN FULLERTON I came in around lunch time and got seated immediately! The server was so accommodating and recommended her favorite dishes from the AYCE menu! The sushi chef also gave us a crispy rice on the house The interior was very spacious and loved the dark-ish ambiance. It really set the mood and I was able to enjoy my meal~ Despite it being AYCE, you could taste the HIGH QUALITY selections of the fish from each plate. Every single sashimi MELTED in my mouth! If you're in the area or even looking for a new sushi spot to try, I highly recommend checking SUSHI BY JIN IN FULLERTON!

    My fingers for size comparison.

Fifteen courses that are surprises because even tho there's a "template" of types of dishes, each one is ultimately the chef's choice. As each course was brought out, our waiter did an excellent job of describing what each item was and it's place of origin. Fifteen courses is alot to try to remember each specific dish so I decided to stay in the moment (after I snapped a pic) and enjoyed each one as we had them and talked about the flavor profiles and what we liked best about it. When my son had made the reservation he must have told them we were celebrating my birthday because in addition to the regular dessert course, our server brought me a birthday dessert which included green tea ice cream and a slice of matcha cheesecake. The full omakase experience was delicious and so fun! I told my son that it was like an advent calendar ~ each course we "opened" had us saying "ooo, how yummy" and left us with almost giddy anticipation of what we'd discover next. If you're looking for something fun and unique for a special occasion, I highly recommend the full omakase experience at Akashiro!

So we found this place and it was in the same vicinity and yay, they took reservations. Made reservations same day for a 18:30 seating. Service is impeccable. We were welcomed with hot towels, and this impressed me: when our server asked if we wanted cold or hot water. Love it! We opted for hot, better for digestion :) Our libation: Kubota sake - semi dry, rich, clean Our dishes: Assorted sashimi (16 pcs) - omakase. No soy sauce needed. Chef prepared with delicious flavors in mind. Tiger scallops - served in a what appears to resemble petrified wood, carved into a long boatlike dish. Hokkaido shrimp, cilantro oil, chilaquita (Peruvian onion relish), sweet potato crisp, smoke aji Amarillo (Peruvian yellow chili) Leche de tigre (rich emulsion of limes, Peruvian spices and chilis) - A complexity of flavors that comes together so completely. Eat with spoon. The delicate potato crisp finishes the bite with a little crunch. Udon picante - bell peppers, quinoa and 2 jumbo shrimp. Love the heat level. Comfort food at its best. Salmon parmesan - Nikkei sushi - seared salmon, parmesan bitter, eel sauce , arare, lime. Amazing. O toro sushi - the fattiest cut of tuna. Eat as is. Again chef prepared. No added seasoning required. Parri maki - fried shrimp, cream cheese, seared tuna topped with chimichurri, aji amarillo, chalaquita, ponzu. Food experience was enhanced by their impeccable taste in music. Super chill, soft beats stream the restaurant. With its perfect lighting too sets all the good moods for us. Don't wait for this fine dining experience of Japanese and Peruvian fusion. Note: when they ask if you want soy sauce, say No, thank you. It would be a shame to kill the taste of a beautiful dish with any added sauce. Kampai! Salud!

DECENT FOOD, TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT…read more I've been here twice, and I can honestly say I think the food is decent, but the manager needs additional training or something. Let me tell y'all what happened, and why I will not go back, ever. Service: 0/5 I ordered food to-go for my staff members birthday; I waited about 40 mins. Like others have said, they're very short staffed here, and maybe that's problem #1. After some time went by, I think they realized I was sitting for a very long time for a small to-go order, so they rushed & possibly didn't secure my bag of food. I ordered a spicy YAKIUDON noodle meal, spicy edamame, and a fried "San Diego". When the young man gave it to me, I asked him if it was secure because it feels heavy and I'm taking it to my staff member and wanted it to be ready for him to eat. He said everything was there, it was packaged well, and sorry for the wait. WELL- LONG STORY SHORT IT WASN'T. lol. I immediately called after I got to my staff members job (15 mins away) and nothing was secure. It leaked so badly EVERYWHERE! My car, my clothes, the food was soggy- it was a literal disaster. After calling- the man apologized profusely and said he will replace EVERYTHING and to come back any time. My staff member and I were out of lunch and it was honestly embarrassing because it was their birthday. I wasted time, spent 2x the money, and I had an extremely dirty car. I took pics, threw the food away, and went back a few days later. When I got there- the cook/ possibly owner was MAD as heck when the guy told him I was there to recollect my order. After shouting and shaking his head- I saw him cooking. When my bag came- it was awfully light and a very tiny box. I asked the server if that was everything and he was so embarrassed and kept saying he was sorry that the owners said "no." They will not replace it after all. They gave me a literal small side of noodles and that's it. The meal I originally bought came with rice, a salad, a dumpling etc. I also didn't get the edamame, or the fried San Diego! All around- I felt bad for the young man who was so embarrassed and ultimately put in the middle. He said it was wrong what they're doing but ultimately this place was going back on what they should do to make it right. I didn't make a scene or argue, I opted to never come back. I think things like this show the character of an establishment and it is what it is.

I'm not sure what it is about this place, but the mayo ratio in the food is just too high. I lose my appetite long before getting full from a strange aftertaste in any of the items that use mayo. The service speed varies on how busy they are as well as how big your party is, so if you're coming in with 6 big eaters, at peak dining hours, expect the food to trickle in little by little at a rate that will likely sneak up on you. It's easy to accidentally over order here because of this. My issue was the gagging sensation I'd get when eating anything with mayo in it. Maybe it's the brand or mix ratio. It's hard to say. Maybe if this place is here in 4 years again, I may drop by to give it another chance.

I expected a kitsune broth (umami-rich with dashi) as the restaurant specializes in sushi. Regardless, it was decent; the accompanying shrimp tempura were good. Interestingly, this restaurant is also mentioned in the Michelin Guide. I believe this is due to the quality of the rolls. The tuna tasted amazingly refreshing. I liked the California rolls too. For the quality served, they were decently priced. I'm sure more premium items would taste delicious. Walking inside is like entering a small traditional izakaya densely packed with Japanese decor.
