Inconsistent. I've ordered here through DD multiple times and the biggest issue I have is inconsistency. You honestly don't know the quality until you get it -- My usuals are the Panang curry for example. Sometimes it's great, and this most recent order the curry was literally water. Came here for a quick dinner with my wife on a Thursday night. The restaurant was spacious and we were seated right away with no wait. We ordered the pad see ew with extra veggies, BBQ chicken, and summer rolls. Overall, the food was good and service was smooth. That said, some dishes lacked presentation--specifically the BBQ chicken. I was expecting it plated with rice, but it came on a skillet and looked pretty plain. We went here for dinner and got the chicken satay (five skewers), pad thai with fried tofu, and red curry with pork. There weren't many people in the restaurant, and we got seated after the server took care of a pickup order. Although there weren't many people inside the restaurant at the time, it took a little while for the dishes to arrive. Also, they brought over the appetizer and the red curry at the same time. The red curry also didn't have bamboo shoots as shown in the menu. However, they were able to take back the curry and put in the bamboo shoots. They were also a little slow with providing the check. Despite some challenges with the service, the red curry tasted great. The Thai basil added fragrance and made each bite flavorful. The jasmine rice that went with the meal was too mushy for my liking. It's a matter of preference, but I'd rather not have rice watery. I've seen this place plenty of times and I have been curious to try it. They have signs outside of being voted best of OC in yelp and trip advisor so we had to try them! They are small local business located in a big strip mall with a lot of parking spots available. They have a host stand right at the entrance. The ambiance is cozy and family friendly. I did notice that some of the artwork on the walls are for sale from local artists that I thought was a very nice touch to help give visibility to the community. The place is not too big but tables don't feel cramped. The waitress was very patient with us as we looked through the menu. We ordered black iced tea which tasted freshly brewed and refreshing. We started with the egg rolls that were very crisp and a generous portion. They were good, but my bf likes them with less veggie filling and more protein. For our main dishes we ordered: chicken pad Thai, mixed Thai fried rice and chicken mango curry. The chicken pad Thai was the best out of what we ordered. The noodles were perfectly cooked and everything tasted delicious. The mixed fried rice was also good with the beef being our favorite protein on it. Lastly the mango curry had a good flavour but it was too watery compared to what I'm used to and the chicken didn't have too much flavour. It was the impression of it having been boiled separately and added to the curry later. All of these didn't really have any spice to it. The curry is the only one that had a hint of kick at the end. We would've liked to have some hot sauce to add some spice to it but there were none on the tables. We didn't ask for any either. Overall the food was good for the area, but I would not say the best. Came for lunch today. Not too familiar with Thai chow, so I requested Pad Thai because it's the only one familiar to me. WAS DELICIOUS. Especially with the Thai chilis in "fish sauce" as the lovely staff lady said. You can order mild-Med- or Spicy. I got Spicy and it was typical spicy I'd say 6 out of 10 on my scale--meaning you can feel the heat but it's nowhere near uncomfortable. The Thai chili adds a TON of flavor. My favorite hole in the wall! I have yet to have Thai food as good as they have it here! My go to is the chicken sataay as their peanut sauce is pure perfection. My boyfriend got the combination pad see ew and he could not stop eating it, even when he was full. We tried something new and got the appetizer sample. It was nice to try their crowd pleaser (popular) plates all in one. Lastly we finished with the mango sticky rice. This always hits the spot at the end of the meal. Light and full of flavor. Our server was kind and didn't hover over us. We noticed the servers watch from a distance instead of constantly checking on the table. Decided to try this Thai place out as it's close to my work. I ordered for 6 of us as it was a birthday celebration at work. We decided on some Thai staples: pad thai, pad se ew, tom yum, egg rolls, red curry, and basil fried rice. All were about average and I would say the fried rice and tom yum were above average. What surprised me the most was the portion sizes. I opted for the dinner a la carte option and it came in a small/medium Glad size box. I would've hope the portion sizes would be bigger! Such as the size of the typical white styrofoam boxes. Lastly, we ordered 2x egg rolls advertised as 5 rolls each order but only received a total of 8 rolls. I used to eat at Thai Specialty many moons ago. I was in the area and decided to eat here and see if the food quality is still the same. The decor has been tastefully updated and very welcoming. It was the end of your typical lunch rush and I was seated immediately. They have lunch specials and I ordered my go to, pad woon sen with chicken. This dish comes with a veggie egg roll. Came here for lunch, was craving some Thai food today! Got the cashew chicken with Jasmine rice, Delicious, wish it had a bit more of a kick as far as spice goes. But it was tasty and filling. Also ordered the yellow curry but I forgot to take a picture of it so bummed. The server she was really friendly and smiled a lot. The fried rice was brought out about 25 minutes after I ordered, and by itself without the chicken satay, 10 minutes later, after the fried rice was cold of course, came the chicken satay, which was undercooked! A couple came in 5 minutes after me, and were served before me! What's more, while I was waiting, the same server for me walked around asking customers if they'd like water, but didn't ask me! Got takeout from Thai Specialty and received two items, here is a breakdown: Pad Thai w/ Tofu: the pad thai here is good but not great. If you're in the mood for pad Thai in this area it will get the job done, but there are definitely better around. Chicken Satay: this was my favorite of the two dishes. Flavorful and moist chicken skewers with a peanut dipping sauce. The peanut sauce was rich and delicious and went well with the chicken. Overall, this is a solid restaurant for Thai, it won't blow you away but it will get the job done. The service was fast and efficient. read more

Checking around the area for a Thai restaurant. Tried this place and we're very disappointed. Grew up eating Thai Food since the early 80's and that's over 4 decades eating different Thai Restaurants all over California... Bbq Chicken is old and of course very dry, ordered the catfish and they served us fish belly instead of filet and the Pad See Eiw very dry. The waitress very nice and the place is clean. This is my to-go Thai food place in Brea, usually is consistent with their flavor but today was different. The food although looked as usual was unbelievably bland (Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and Tom Yum)... even the rice on the side was hard. I was very surprised by how unflavorful it was (at least the bean sprouts tasted good). I'm really disappointed with the quality I received today, my family couldn't even finish it. First time visiting this restaurant since the late 90s. The ambiance has changed a lot since then. It is a nice clean space with good sized tables for 2. 4. or 6. They are closed between 3 and 4 pm (lunch and dinner). We arrived just before 4pm and they opened up and seated us. Service was really good as the place was not busy. Food was tasty. We started with chicken satay and chicken pot stickers as appetizers. Then had the crying tiger and bbq chicken. The crying Tiger had a great flavor but was a bit tough. The energy here as I walked in is good vibes, smells good, and looks clean. I was immediately greeted with smiles and warm welcomes from all of the employees. I received my Thai coffee instantly and they took my lunch order right away. I ordered the pad Thai with chicken and veggie egg roll. Before tasting the meal I'm already happy with this review. I would give this restaurant a zero star if I could! Went to this restaurant at 2pm on a wed afternoon and tried to order some food to go. I literally had to stand there for 10 minutes before anyone come greet me. There were 2 waitresses at the restaurant but not sure they didn't see me or they saw me when I walked in but decided not to acknowledge me right away. After standing there inside the restaurant for 10 minute, one waitress finally came with no smile on her face, and the first thing she said to me was "if you gonna order take out, you have to wait for at least 40 min. The kitchen is busy now." Wow, this is the worst service ever! Our egg rolls were completely frozen on the inside. It was very discomforting because we don't know if the filling was completely cooked all the way before they were frozen. I hope we didn't bite into raw chicken... But we told the sever and they fixed it by re-frying our egg rolls. My catfish padped was very delicious though, it was slightly crispy with a flavorful red chili sauce. It's a little spicy so beware if you're sensitive. For the price, I wish they provided more meat though. My friend got the chow min or "veggie ramin". It was stir fried instant noodles with cabbage, carrots, and onion. It was fairly bland and it was obvious that this was the cheap packs of instant noodles you'd get for $0.50/bag.
