    Salmon Poke Bowl
    Jessica G.

Cassie took my order she is so sweet! The place was empty when I came in, I tried this place once before and it was pretty good! I'm not a big poke bowl person but needed something healthy to eat today. So decided on this, I got one protein, salmon and white rice with spicy crab, spicy mayo, onions, scallions and some fried onions for some texture, also some cucumbers and ginger! Very simple but delicious bowl, the salmon was a tiny bit on the fishy side but I still ate almost the entire bowl. I got my bowl quickly they have inside seating. Lots of parking it's near Albertoson's and a bank. I would come back here it's not my first choice but the service was amazing so that makes me want to come back again. Thank you for fantastic service and my delicious poke bowl. Have a beautiful day :) Aloha

Brown rice; salmon, tuna, spicy tuna. Lots of seaweed, house sauce. Joy.

Some of the best Poke I ever had! Was not impressed at first. Place is small but clean, menu is modest, prices high. And the scoop they use to retrieve fish is so small it might as well be a thimble. I got their "Medium" with 3 thimbles, their large is 5. Tuna, spicy tuna, and salmon; brown rice; all the toppings plus extra seaweed, and house sauce. Delicious!

Walked in and was greeted by who I think might have been the wonder, super nice and respectful. But first thing I noticed was the smell. It was not a pleasant one to walk into. But I still had hope. When we got our food and took it home, we started eating. I then noticed the smell of my rice and it was again not a pleasant or fresh smell of rice. It actually smelled like either dirty water rice or when you let the rice sit out to long kind of smelled. The rice I had ordered was the sushi rice and my wife had ordered normal white rice. Both smelled incredibly bad.

Service and food... nobody came to the bell for minute , then young girl with inappropriate clothing appeared and couldn't get order right for which bowls I wanted and had to be reminded. Scoops my rice onto my plate using the lid of the plastic Togo container. Then when I said to please remove the cucumber since it was frozen and soggy from defrosting she looked at me like nothing is wrong with it. When I asked her if she sees it's bad she says I don't kno I got in 20 minutes ago. Then when I asked for house spice and ponzu she says they are the same thing which they are not and puts spicy mayo on it and we don't eat mayo. I said that and she looked at me like that's my problem. I asked if it can be removed she said she would have to charge me. I said she could have asked me which spicy I wanted since there's 3 of em. Instead when I told her she only doesn't care but I won't be back here she says she doesn't care doesn't like my attitude. Then when my hand is out for my change she sets it down on counter behind my reach and leaves to the back. I had to bring her back out just to get my receipt. WE HAVE BEEN RETUN CUSTOMERS AND NOW I WILL NOT BE BACK... good luck

Despite the horrendous reviews, I decided to give Grindz Poke a try. When I walked in, contrary to what others said, the smell of the store seemed perfectly normal. Even if there was a smell, how much can that hurt? It's just a little bit of added personality. The environment was extremely well maintained and a nice young lady welcomed me into the store. I wasn't able to get her name but she was very kind and had a very warm smile. As for the food, I have nothing but a raving review!! The salmon was fresh, not in the slightest fishy. I consider myself to be a connoisseur of poke bowls and this one just might be in my top 10! The rice was a bit moist but it was well compensated with the ratio of fish I was given. The salmon is a must try and the avocado was absolutely fresh. I'm really glad I gave this place a try, and I most DEFINITELY will be back.

The Poke is fresh. The Medium size is filling. Had enough leftover for a later snack. Will definitely return again. Friendly staff.

Sometimes they can have a long wait, but that proves that they are great at their craft. Not only do they serve ramen, but they also offer rice bowls if you aren't in the mood for something soupy. They are a small shop, but I am always impressed with how quick the food comes out no matter how busy or how slow the restaurant may be. This is a great place for the winter or if you are out late with friends and you want to eat some good food!

Ages ago, during Titan-con, the anime/nerd convention run by the college, my friends and I decided to grab some ramen here. I could barely fit in the car since I couldn't take the Oda Nobunaga hat off of my head without taking off the wig, so that was a very hilarious memory. We came slightly before the weekend lunch rush so we didn't have to wait, but I can see this place getting super busy and fisted. There's bar counter seating (which we got) that surrounds the entire kitchen area and a decent amount of tables, but knowing people's love for ramen, and how a lot of the OC is a hellscape, it can get quite fisted. Service was friendly and welcoming, being in such a busy area and near a college, I'm sure staff have seen and experienced much more and polite people in cosplay weren't too much of a shock. I got their Aka Ramen which is made from kara (spicy) miso. Comes with 2 pieces of chashu and a seasoned soft boiled egg. I'm not a fan of beansprouts, so I made sure to donate this to a friend. Nice rich miso broth, and like many Japanese restaurant places (that don't have the ability to super build and customize), it has a slight heat, but not super spicy in the slightest. Noodles are thin style and had a nice texture to it that went well with the broth. Overall, not bad.

My first visit to Chubby Sushi felt like coming home…read more As a party of one, I was welcomed in and given a seat right at the chef's table, where I got to watch all the artistry and hard work that goes into every dish. It turned what could have been a simple dinner into a memorable experience from the moment I sat down. I ordered the sashimi plate, and it was absolutely outstanding--fresh, beautifully prepared, and surprisingly well-priced for the quality. What impressed me most was the honesty of the staff. I was considering ordering a larger portion, but they actually talked me out of it because they knew I wouldn't finish it. They were right. That small gesture showed me they cared more about giving me a great experience than squeezing a few extra dollars out of my wallet. That kind of customer service is rare these days. What makes this experience even more memorable is that I had just come from X Fish Izakaya, where I spent nearly an hour waiting to be seated while watching people who arrived after me get seated first. I left feeling frustrated and completely overlooked. Walking into Chubby Sushi was the exact opposite experience. Here, I felt welcomed, appreciated, and genuinely taken care of from the moment I walked through the door. As if the food and service weren't enough, on my way out I met a well-known food reviewer and even got the chance to hold a giant tuna head that Chubby Sushi had on display for a photo. It was one of those unexpected moments that made an already great night unforgettable. Sometimes a bad experience leads you exactly where you're supposed to be. I'm genuinely glad X Fish Izakaya dropped the ball because it led me to discover Chubby Sushi. This wasn't just a great meal--it was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time and one I'll remember for years to come. I'll definitely be back. Chubby Sushi didn't just earn my business--they earned a customer for life.
