Having visited the Chino Hills OMOMO, I had to check this out since I was in the area. Located in a popular plaza next to Craig Regional Park and Brea Mall, OMOMO finds itself in a super busy area where traffic is pretty much heavy all day as they share same plaza with In-N-Out and Popping Yolk. First impressions is that this shop is a bit more spacious than the Chino Hills one, they got some seating but not too many, mainly just for waiting for your order. Most people just stand around the wall or outside while they wait for their drinks. Staff here is friendly and quick. They get their drinks out pretty quickly even though they're busy most of the time. My go to drinks at OMOMO is always their signature "OMOMO Matcha" and their Osmanthus Oolong. Personally, if you love matcha, their signature is a must try. Very refreshing, not too sweet with a sugar adjustment (50%) and on top of that, their boba is always easy to chew and very tasty. We ordered the taro milk tea and the gyokuro milk tea with boba. The taro milk tea had taro paste inside the drink and is a hit if you love taro! The taro flavor was super strong. The gyokuro milk tea was decent. It's light. The tea flavor isn't really strong but it's not bad. Personally, I prefer my milk teas with a strong tea flavor. Service was great! I'm legit crying inside, cuz I was seriously addicted to that drink..so when I stopped by today & found out, I had to find another yummy substitute. *sigh & tear* I was in a fruity & refreshing mood, so I opt'd to finally try the strawberry tornado fruit tea. I've been so hesitant in the past, cuz I didn't know how'd I feel about the cheese foam, but shockingly..to my surprise. I LOVED IT! OMOMO Tea Shoppe was a disappointment sadly. The menu doesn't offer the best options but they do have a variety of different mixtures. They lack providing better descriptions of drinks for new customers and the options are boring. There were zero pastries or food options to pair with your drink. It was only a small drink menu. The customer service was good! The young lady at the counter was very kind and did her best to explain different sweetness and bitterness levels but she couldn't really describe the drinks and recommend anything based on comparisons with what is more popular. As for ambiance it was empty and had no customers. There were no tables to sit and enjoy your drink. So I think people prefer to go to other boba shops that offer at least a small seating area with a table. That was disappointing to see when I walked in. As for flavor... my drink tasted powdery and warm. The boba pearls were a bit stale. I wont be coming back. There are plenty of other boba locations that offer much higher quality drinks and the price point is exactly the same. HOLY ! This might actually be the first boba establishment whose boba justifies the 20-25 minute wait. I got the Uji green milk tea creamomo,50% sweet, and it was perfect. The sweetness from the honey boba coupled with the creaminess of the drink is pure bliss. I would 100% be willing to wait again in line for this spot. I think my next try will be the matcha creamomo. They play well with the minimal and warm colors, emphasizing on the wood decorations and design. It feels open, spacious, and inviting for a smaller size of business space. There wasn't a line when I got in, but I've heard on busy days they can get pretty backed up with lots of people. Nonetheless their menu is straight forward and the people at the front are extremely knowledgeable and helpful for any indecisive people! I got the osmanthus and the crème brûlée Thai milk tea, both of which were sweetened just right, not too sweet but it definitely didn't lack. I love OMOMO and it's large variety of drinks, especially their Creamomo. It's great for those who enjoy their drink with cheese or tiramisu foam. I got their Black Jade Milk Tea and the tea flavor is so rich, with a hint of bitterness that isn't too overpowering. My sister got the Strawberry Tornado which is refreshing with yummy strawberry bits. The service was amazing and they are very generous with adjustments made to your drink. The drinks come out very fast too! The only downside is that there's nowhere to sit inside, so it is really meant to be a place to get a quick drink and leave. The inside, however, is very clean. Omomo has very high quality tea, and very reasonable prices. I've balked at drinks going over $7 or $8, but a solid milk tea at Omomo is still $5.50 or $6. I was craving some milk tea and found that Omomo was nearby. The plaza has some spots right in front, but on the weekends can be busy with many other nearby shops. Inside there are some appealing columns, that break up the space around the pick up counter. The order register is in the back, and the line of four people was quickly worked through. The order process was seamless and quick, even though there's 30+ items on the menu and everyone has multiple customizations. We waited maybe 4 minutes to get two drinks. The Magnolia Milk Tea was extremely fragrant, a clear floral aroma and taste, and balanced against the tannins in the green tea. The first few sips were so refreshing we went back in to get another. I thought the 30% sweetness was just the right level, a hint of sweetness but still the magnolia was the dominant taste. We also got a 0%, though I find this to have a slight bitterness from the green tea. The second drink we tried was the Taro Paste Fresh Milk. The item normally comes with blended ice but we were able to get it without ice, so it was milk and taro paste. Here no sweetness was needed and this let the taro paste shine as the sole flavor. And this is no caffeinated so children can have it too. read more

Review 81/365 Day Challenge My 1st time having Omomo Tea Shoppe was probably 7 years ago in their Irvine location. Than there was a huge line for it and looks like the hype hasn't died down. Finally made my way over to one near my city of residence, Brea Sunday evening with my cousin n his wife visiting along w my nephew. We were excited to try. What we ordered ~ Omomo Matcha is a blended drink. I asked for 50% sweetness. With it being 50% sweet, it's still sweet per my 8 year old daughter. So definitely recommend adjusting the sweet level. I can't imagine it being 100% sweet. Really great matcha cold drink for a hot day. ~ itchy peachy is good also. ~ Jasmine Green tea The boba is top notch chewy good. The brown sugar boba has a sweet taste to it Agar boba is good n crunch to it. We love agar boba There's no indoor seating nor outside. It's decorative is simple modern vibe. Associates were nice n even though there was a line. We got our drinks in a good timely manner, Located in the same plaza as Fogo De Chao, in n out n next to Do Coffee shop. I think omomo is ok, but I don't get the hype. The Brea location is in the in n out plaza across from the mall. The parking lot is kind of crowded. The line is long but it moves at a good speed. I got the watermelon green tea and my husband got the oolong super lemon. The watermelon green tea is ok, at 25% sweet it was good. They use fresh watermelon which is nice. The oolong super lemon is ok too. It's a punch of lemon and an oolong aftertaste. I thought the drinks were ok but wasn't mind blowing. It's a tea drink with cheese foam or tiramisu foam on top. If you're a coffee lover, don't get the coffee here. But if you're into dessert drinks, the Creamomos, specials, or milk teas will float your boat. My Selection: I've been to this shop a few times, but this review will focus on our last two drinks: My wife got the Ceylon Creamomo and I got the Wicked (which is a seasonal drink inspired by the movie and is a combo of matcha and ube). She loved her drink and gave it a 10 out of 10. While I prefer drinking matcha by itself, traditionally, and find that it tastes odd when mixed with sugar or other flavors, I actually enjoyed my drink. I give it a solid 7 out of 10. The Service: The entire staff was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Grade A+. The Location: This location of Omomo is located in a decent sized strip mall shared with In-N-Out and across the street from Brea Mall. That double whammy can make the traffic a bit messy during peak weekend hours. Fortunately, the area is safe and clean. Inside, the shop is pretty narrow and there are no tables or chairs -- clearly not a hangout spot, which is a bummer if you like to chill with friends while sipping on your drink. The Prices: Another con. The cheapest drink is $4.50, while the most expensive is $7.50. Throw in add-ons like brown sugar boba or taro paste and your single drink can cost almost $10. The Conclusion: If you want your boba drink to be more like a dairy-filled dessert, and can afford the premium prices, then Omomo is your jam. But if you prefer to eat your desserts and not drink them, then just say "Oh no no." Unfortunately, every location I've checked--whether in Irvine, Mission Viejo, or Brea--has been out of it lately. Today, I tried the Strawberry Tornado with brown sugar boba for the first time, and I have to say, I'm not a fan. It might be because I ordered it at 30% sweetness, but the strawberry flavor just didn't hit--it tasted a bit off, maybe due to the type of strawberries used. For an $8 drink, I expected something more satisfying, so I probably wouldn't order it again. That said, their Camel Thai Milk Tea and Ceylon Milk Tea are always solid and consistent. But I will say that the staff are very very understanding. And since strawberries are not in season or maybe the batch they got does not give that strong strawberry flavor they were able to exchange it for me. read more

Oolong Milk Tea 10/10 - I get this everytime coming to Omomo without fail. I love the deep flavor of their oolong tea while still being sweet. The game changer for me is the tiramisu foam. Adds a nice creaminess to the drink and gives it more of a chocolate oolong flavor. Boba is cooked well as it's nice and bouncy with good amount of sweetness. This is for sure on the sweeter side so I would recommend going 30 or 50 percent sweet. One thing I can say about Omomo after having visited all of their locations is that they continue to remain consistent in terms of quality across all locations. Genuinely one of the best spots for any kind of tea (I've never tried the coffee here, I don't really drink coffee but I've heard good things about it here from my friends.)
