Even though the line looked long, it went by quickly. Unfortunately, they were understaffed on a Friday night so I felt bad for the single employee at the front. Lots of nice indoor seating but parking is in that busy plaza with bad drivers going the wrong way. Their matcha and hojicha were pretty basic and the jasmine milk tea was weak. Wouldn't recommend especially with how fierce the competition is. Chahalo makes a great jasmine milk tea. The peach camelia was great and had a great floral scent. Strong tea here and I actually wouldn't recommend the jelly as it detracted from the tea. Nice packaging but I hope they hire more employees.

UG Tea, located in Rowland Heights right off the freeway in a large, predominantly Asian plaza with a large parking lot, has many people here on weekends. I waited in line to order an Orange Jasmine tea with regular sweetener, but I think I should have said 50 percent more. The server already said it wasn't that sweet but I guess everyone has their own taste buds. This place has some small chairs to sit on, and the inside looks very green and super bright. My drink was alright but maybe needs a slight adjustment for sure.

Second time here. Came this time for their BOGO: Matcha Strawberry and Matcha Mango. Very modern, clean, and very "green" interior. Some bench seats, good for waiting for drinks but not really good for working or studying. One self-serve kiosk for ordering. My two drinks took 10 minutes (not counting the waiting in line). The BOGO deal definitely made wait time longer. My drinks were decent. Nothing really stood out. I barely tasted the strawberry or mango. The matcha was very strong (which would be fine if I just ordered straight Matcha, but I didn't). Considering the price and the fact it's a matcha- focused place, I expected more from the drinks. Glad it was BOGO. Overall, I would come back only if there's deals.

This is a matcha-focused shop with a modern, clean, and stylish green-themed interior with subtle industrial touches. It has a trendy look and seems to stay pretty busy. I ordered the Cloud Matcha. The presentation was nice, but the cream on top was quite heavy and tasted mostly like regular whipped cream. I was expecting a more unique flavor or something that would make it feel like a signature drink, but nothing really stood out to me. The matcha itself was decent, but considering the price, I expected something a little more special. Service was okay. Nothing particularly stood out, but I had no issues with it either. Overall, it's a nice-looking matcha spot, but for me, the drink was just okay and felt a bit overpriced for what it was.

If you are planning to visit UG, my biggest advice is to go on a weekday. The shop is located in a plaza that gets incredibly busy and turns into a parking headache on weekends, whereas weekdays are much more peaceful and far easier to park. The initial grand opening hype has definitely settled down, so you will not have to deal with long lines anymore. I swung by on a weekday right before dinner time and there were only four other customers inside. Ordering through the self-serve kiosk was seamless, and I was completely in and out with my drink in under ten minutes. The pricing here is very reasonable. I really enjoyed their oolong tea, which has been great so far. I have not tried their matcha options yet, but they seem to carry a wider variety of matcha drinks here compared to what I remember seeing at UG in Taiwan. The interior setup is straightforward and clean. While they do not have large tables for big gatherings, there are a few comfortable seats that work well if you are hanging out with a small group. Overall, it is a solid spot for quality drinks with minimal wait, as long as you drop by on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowd.

Finally, the first UG Tea that isn't UGH to me. LOL, but I digress. They're still in the growing pains of opening, so even if you order ahead of time through their app, mobile ordering, etc. It can still take quite some time, even if you got at some weird time during the middle of the week. My order was slated to be ready around 12:20 PM, but it I wasn't done until 12:50 PM. So just an FYI. ALSO MORE LIKE a 3.5 but I'm rounding up. I just feel super bad for the sweet girl that was doing her best in the front. Like once in a while some guy would come out to help her and somewhat take orders from the cashier, but it was literally just here there putting the lids on and organizing the orders and then some dude was angrily malding and yelling at her in Chinese, throwing his phone and slamming it on the counter, raising his voice, and then tapping the counter angrily. Bro everyone was staring, relax. Another customer had to calm him down and then he was weirdly polite to me when he opened the door. So if you want to see angry people, I guess you can also see them at UG Tea... Customer service is doing their best, but they definitely do need more staff in front and maybe also in the back too, considering how popular and busy they are. The location is where The Alley used to be in Diamond Plaza. I went at an off time, so it wasn't fisted yet, but the plaza can get quite hectic and busy, especially during the dinner rush and on Friday and on the weekends. UG Tea was a bit crowded when I went too. In terms of decor, the SGV location is the winner and is the best for pictures, but it is the biggest one, but this location clears Milpitas which is the worst one for me. For this visit, I got the: 1) Hibiscus Roast Milk Tea: -I got this 70% sweet. It's a unique enough floral milk tea, but it's super, super light in flavor. Barely a floral taste to it, slight apple after taste. -Mostly you taste the roasted milk tea flavor. I'd skip this. 2) Cocoa Cloud Smoothie: -It's a cocoa smoothie. You're literally drinking a chocolate smoothie. Very creamy. It's a sweet chocolate-y treat. I mean you can technically get this cheaper somewhere else, but it's easy and yummy to drink. 3) Mango Rice Floral Fruit Tea: -I got this 70% sweet and I added in tea jelly as a topping (nice to chew on, light tea taste). -Super good. If I had to have a go to drink at UG Tea, it'd be this drink. -Comes with real mango bits inside and it's a not too sweet mango tea with a delicious roasted rice flavor to it. -The description says there's a pandan finish (didn't taste it lol), but it's actually UNIQUE (like the boba place's namesake) and good. 4) Supreme Hojicha Latte: -It's their limited edition colalb drink with someone named Warren Hue (idk who this is as I listen to only anisong, visual kei/J-rock, and pinponpanpon). -For something named supreme hojicha...it's just okay. The hojicha flavor isn't that strong, I'd say Cha Redefine has a stronger hojicha...I'd skip this one too... I can't say that UG Tea is at the same level as any of the Chinese franchises that are sweeping the 626 boba wars (Chahalo, Molly Tea, Nai Snow, Charlie's Tea, etc.), but it's at least a tad better than Chayan and Guiji in my eyes now. Especially since the drinks are around $7-9... Overall, I would have given a 3, but the girl was super nice and trying her best. Way better than any of the other 2 UG Tea locations so I'm rounding up just for that.

This is a Soft Opening UG in Rowland Heights. I came here yo support this business because I won a jacket designed by Warren Hue in Collaboration with Head in the Cloud. I tried both the Hojicha Latte and the Cloud Matcha Latte at the San Gabriel location where I picked up my jacket. They both tasted so creamy and strong tea flavor. I immediately got hooked on the Hojicha Latte, so I came over as soon as I heard they were opening in Rowland Heights. So close to me! Service was friendly and welcoming. I still believe this location the tea flavor is less strong compared to the one I tasted in San Gabriel. May be a little adjustment will keep the customer keep coming back. The aesthetic feel does not keep me from taking videos all over the places lol, along with the background music, it's just feel so relaxing and enjoyable while drinking my milk tea. I will suggest to have some kind of promotion since it's Soft Opening for a week, may be BOGO for a week? Gotta have some perks for returning customer like me, right? I will come back again soon to try their other drinks on the menu.

Delicious teas and specialty drinks! Having used to work at a Tea Station I can be somewhat of a snob when it comes to these tea joints and this one is a good one. I got to try their matcha lattes and the green milk tea, they were both bomb and will be in my mind when I'm craving for the days of past. The prices seem on par with other tea joints and for the quality, I'm a satisfied and full customer even if I can't afford more than one cup a week. Here's to hoping UG Tea will be a staple in Diamond Plaza. Cheers!

Greeted upon entering by the friendly and helpful staff. The place and decor looks clean, modern and almost clinical. We ordered the Matcha Cookie Smoothie (70% sugar-just right, not too sweet), Blueberry Blizzard Smoothie (70% sugar-still a bit too sweet for our taste), and the Peach Camellia Fruit Tea sub Floral Tea Jelly (70% sugar-just right and had a good amount of caffeine!) which was our favorite! Will definitely come back again!

Came here for the back to school BOGO on the Supreme Hojicha Latte, which is such a steal! One already costs $7.99 so you are getting your money's worth. I love the newly remodeled interior and decor. The green really stands out as their brand color. Service was standard as you self order on the kiosk to get the BOGO deal. My drinks were made relatively quickly though.

I don't really see what the hype about this place was. I got the blueberry frostie and it was alright, it was super sweet even though I got 30% sweetness. I also tried the rice drink and the jasmine tea which to me was both very under whelming and not very good for what the price point is. They don't serve you because they have a kiosk which is normal in drink stores now. They don't even call out the numbers either a machine does it so you just walk up and pick up your drink without ever talking to a worker. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the store is very green. Very spacious and was nice and clean inside.

    Jessica W.

Delicious and refreshing! I know they are well known for their matcha and everyone had matcha in their hands, but I wanted something refreshing and this hit the spot. 10% sweetness was still a bit too sweet for me, I'm going to see if they have no sweetness next time. Cute set up with the chairs and wall decor. I love their number system on their TV that calls out orders. Very organized. Will try matcha next time.

New matcha place! They have pretty fast service during grand opening. We got the next level matcha for bogo. It was pretty good. But too bad we can't adjust ice level, we can adjust sweetness and their recommendation is at 30% which was interesting

There are so many tea and boba shops opening now...startups or from Asia, and honestly most of them…read moreare disappointing. Some of the most popular and hyped-up shops have weak tea flavors, yet their wait times and sales are through the roof. Maybe it's placebo, maybe it's the hype...and today, I was invited to try ChaHalo's new Lychee Series, and these are my honest thoughts. (Also the shop is in a busy parking lot with lots of restaurants, stores, and grocery. The shop has very cushy chairs!) I tried all of the lychee drinks at 100% sweetness and tasted them immediately, as the ice started to settle, and again after the ice completely melted and am impressed that the flavors held up through each stage. I'd get them again except for the smoothie. Lychee Oolong Milk Tea: This was my favorite. It's milky with a pleasant sweetness, but neither the milk nor sweetness overpowers the oolong tea or lychee - the flavors were harmonious. The lychee adds just a tiny bit of tartness, while the oolong is fragrant without being too strong and they create a buttery flavor. Lychee Smoothie: This one was my least favorite, but mostly because I'm just not a huge smoothie person unless there's some creaminess to it. The smoothie also melts a little too quickly for my preference. There was a generous amount of house made lychee jelly, and I really liked it. The jelly didn't taste watered down at all. Every sip was smooth and pleasant, and the jelly added both a nice texture and an extra layer of lychee flavor. Lychee Jasmine Lemon Tea: This had a really nice sweetness, and again, the flavors worked well together. The jasmine tea was prominent, while the lemon was mild and added a pleasant fragrance without making the drink too sour. It also wasn't bitter, very light and refreshing. I want to point out: I actually hate the flavor of canned lychee. I love fresh lychee fruit, but canned lychee has a very distinct flavor that I personally don't enjoy. Canned lychee is used at probably almost every boba shop, so it's something to be mindful of when ordering lychee drinks. You should expect that distinct canned-lychee flavor rather than fresh lychee but depends on how the shop uses it. (same with longan) I think ChaHalo used it well. The lychee flavor was noticeable without completely taking over the tea, and the drinks continued to taste good even as the ice melted.

My wife and I visited during lunch on a weekend and it was no wait whatsoever. Easily placed our orders and it was about a 5-10 minute wait for our drinks, very nice overall. Staff is friendly and quick which is always nice to see for a tea shop. They have plenty of options to go around, usually they'll have a sample for you to try which is nice if you can't decide on your drink choice. I absolutely love the mango or lemon condensed milk series, it's a mix of yakult style drinks on top of a bit more of a gushy feeling when you're sipping. Mix that with a bit of kick and you have the perfect drink for a hot day. Absolutely recommend trying it. Overall, a well maintained shop, although can get really packed during the peak hours, it's absolutely worth checking their store out. Very high quality drinks, consistent across all San Chen locations and definitely my choice of tea shop whenever my wife and I are in the area.

It was exceptional. - Chocolate Dirty Egg Tart 5/5 Flaky chocolate pastry filled with custard. It was perfectly delicious. Definitely, I recommend Lelecha. What a place! Everything we tried was uniquely delicious and flavorful.

5 stars for their "butter caramel tart" ($5.5), which is essentially a gigantic [easily 2 or 3x the…read moresize of a] Chinese "dan tat" or egg custard in a light, buttery, flaky crust that's better than what you'd get at a French pastry shop. The smooth, light, melt-in-your-mouth custard is nice and thick, so the ratio of custard to crust is like 15:1 (how it should be, in my opinion!). Pictures do it no justice--you absolutely have to try it. I tried it the next morning after refrigeration and microwaving for 22sec, and it was so delicious, I finished the entire piece! And now I'm super full. But it was worth it. They also have a chocolate version that I was considering, but opted to go with their most popular, which is yummy enough to go out of your way for. Also tried their floral quartet oolong milk tea with boba. Tea was ok but boba was lackluster, a bit too stretchy and not sweet enough. That custard pastry though, easily brings this spot up to 5 stars. Small shop just to place your order at the counter and leave with goodies. Cute bread themed interior: baguette door handles, a variety of bread squishies for the kiddos to play with while you order, and a large rolling pin light fixture above you. Do yourself and your friends and family a favor and bring home at least a few of the butter caramel tarts. They're each nicely packaged in a windowed bag with branded sticker, so they're easy to gift. And each one comes with a packaged glove with which to enjoy your treat and not have to wash your hands.

I recently left a review about my experience with Thirsty Water's Roasted Oolong Milk Tea because I…read morefelt the tea flavor was a little underwhelming. To my surprise, Crystal personally reached out to me afterward and let me know that they had recalibrated their tea machines and invited me back to give it another try. I really appreciated that gesture. It genuinely made me feel like my feedback was heard and taken seriously rather than simply acknowledged and forgotten. When I came back, I tried the recalibrated Roasted Oolong Milk Tea. While it was still a little lighter in tea flavor than I personally prefer, Crystal was incredibly accommodating and suggested I try their Roasted Oolong Original Tea instead. Brandon, the barista who helped make my order, was also super friendly and accommodating throughout the experience. The original tea was exactly what I was looking for. It had a perfect balance of roasted notes while still allowing that distinct oolong flavor to come through. Personally, I would probably order it with less sugar next time so the tea itself can shine even more, but I can also see how the regular sweetness complements and brings out certain notes in the tea. It really comes down to personal preference. And of course, the boba was soft and chewy as usual! What impressed me most, though, was the customer service. Crystal didn't have to reach out, explain what they had changed, or invite me back, but she did. As someone who has spent many years working in the bubble tea industry myself, I have a lot of respect for businesses that view customer feedback as an opportunity to improve rather than something to dismiss. Thirsty Water is somewhat tucked away in a large plaza with plenty of other bubble tea competition nearby, so it can be easy to overlook. But between the quality of the tea and the way Crystal and Brandon handled my experience, I would absolutely recommend giving this shop a try. Thank you again, Crystal and Brandon, for making me feel like my feedback genuinely mattered. I'll definitely be back!

You order from a kiosk and they have a tab dedicated to the collaborations that makes it easy to browse through the menu. The drinks were great and everything (cups, tables, walls, etc ) were branded in such a way that it makes it feel like an actual pop-up. Overall, great spot and glad it was worth the trip all the way from the SFV.
