Originating from China, this tea shop is known for their Chinese-style milk teas, fruit teas, and tea frappes, which have strong brewed-tea flavor profiles instead of overly sugary drinks. I really like the vibes from this shop. It feels like a modern Chinese tea lounge with seating rather than a grab-and-go boba shop. The store itself as well as the cups and packaging are aesthetically designed and visually appealing. I had the Black Tea Frappe, which tasted smooth, authentic, and lightly sweet. The whipped cream and crushed honey-roasted pecans on top were delicious when mixed into the tea. I also tried some of my husband's Osmanthus Milk Tea, which tasted creamy and had a light floral finish. Both drinks were very aromatic with the perfect balance of tea and milk. I would definitely recommend both of these drinks.
Had to check this spot out after hearing it was opened so my wife and I visited on a busy weekend afternoon but our drinks came out really quick. First impressions is that they have two self ordering kiosks. Already a HUGE plus. Space is pretty standard for a grab and go combo with hangout spot. Couple of tables inside and all pretty spacious. Very clean as well which is a nice plus. I love the subtle light green deco all around the shop, which gave of chill vibes overall. Parking - Free in a large outdoor parking lot. Some spots can be a bit tight so watch out for that. One thing I always look at when I visit new tea shops are their cups. Chayan has great cups, sturdy, cute yet simple design, and easy to hold. It's also pretty unique compared to other shops when you think about it. -- WHAT WE ORDERD -- -- Peach Oolong Milk Tea -- ($6.29) - This might be the perfect drink on a HOT DAY. It's refreshing, not too overpowering when it comes to the peach. Very standard and to the point. Very easy to sip and finish within seconds! -- Black Tea Frappe -- ($6.89) - Love this drink. It comes with an option to add Pecan nuts on top of your whipped cream thats above some fresh milk tea. Made the drink very creamy but also very savory to a sense. Refreshing and perfect on a hot day. It's also one of their most popular options, highly recommend. Overall, a wonderful tea spot addition to SoCal. Loved the vibes here and it's certainly one of my go to tea places now whenever I'm in Rowland. With similar vibes to Molly Tea when it comes to quality, I'm excited to visit again to try other drink options. They do seem to have BOGO promotions along with other promotions often as well which is nice.
I was in the area and stopped at this shopping center for tea. There are several options, hot, cold, sweetness level, plus add- on toppings and Boba. I chose Peach Oolong tea. I added whipped cream and some crunchy chopped nuts on top. I realize it's been awhile since I've been here. I will make a note to go by in the coming week to see what the flavor of the month is. Besides United Kingdom, Chayan also has locations in Vancouver, Toronto, and Seattle. [Parking]: I had no issue finding an available parking spot within the plaza on Saturday at 9:30 PM. [Ordering & ambiance]: Customers place orders via kiosk machines and there are no outdoor tables. The shop offered free samples and it was Pre-Qingming Milk Tea on the day of our visit. [Menu]: The top recommended drinks on Yelp are Osmanthus Lychee Milk Tea and Black Tea Frappe; however, the shop offered one-day only BOGO (buy one get one free) deal for Pre-Qingming Longjing Milk Tea and Matcha Pre-Qingming Longjing Latte. Our party ultimately went with both drinks. Just like Chagee and Molly Tea, this shop offers mini straws that make drinkers to take small and slow sips. *** Pre-Qingming Longjing Milk Tea ($6.29) & Matcha Pre-Qingming Longjing Latte ($5.99): Both drinks weren't overly sweet at regular sweetness. The matcha drink wasn't too bad and not watery & it was a solid option; however, I personally preferred the milk tea as it had a really nice and smooth finish. *** I like Chayan a bit better than Chagee - slightly better quality and more drink options to choose from. A solid 4.5-star for the drinks, but round up to a 5-star due to the speedy service.
They had another BOGO for pre-Qing Ming Festival so we went and tried both drinks available for this promo. We came about an hour after they opened so they weren't busy and there was no line to order. -longjing milk tea ($6.29): creamy milk tea with tea flavor but couldn't tell it apart from other green milk teas. (4/5) -longjing matcha latte ($5.29): smallish cup and not very strong matcha flavor. Leans more on the milky side but wasn't quite creamy either. (3/5)
Stopped by because we were curious about the "Best milk tea from the UK"! The store is very clean and organized. You can self-order on the two kiosks. Drinks were made very quickly. GENMAICHA FRAPPE: the frappe is just the whipped cream on top. The drink itself is not blended, but the tea is fragrant with notes of rice tea. Pecan bits on top are a fun crunch. PEACH OOLONG FRAPPE: real peach flavor which is unique from other places. My favorite drink in the rotation. DA HONG PAO MILK TEA: fragrant tea as well. I like how they have the small skinny straws to allow you to savor the drink slowly and get all the notes Saw on their wall that if you bring in your pet, you could get a little treat for them too!
Drinks were made faster and they have kios system which makes it so much faster! I was a little disappointed with the drinks tho especially the lychee milk tea. This drink was really weird and tasted very chemically. Not sure if I'll come back for the same drink but maybe try something different
Chayan was exactly what I was looking forward to in Chinese-style premium tea. I was missing these drinks badly after my trip to China, and stores like Chayan are exactly what I was searching for! The teas are high quality and uniquely crafted with a rich taste in every sip. Not to mention, their cups and the interior of the store are so fancy! I got their Peach Oolong Tea Frappe. It had a pink whipped cream and sprinkled atop were honey-roasted pecans. It is one of their most popular drinks, and for a great reason. These teas are pricy, so I will always miss how cheap these teas were in China, but they literally brought it here in RH for you to enjoy. I really suggest Chayan if you have never had Chinese-style premium tea drinks before.
I picked up a jasmine green milk tea with less sugar and ice. On Fantuan, there was a minuscule discount that made the cost $5.49. Unfortunately, the tea flavor was on the light side this time, so it was difficult to discern and savor it. It was still pleasant, but I wish the tea was stronger. My tea was ready in ten minutes, and the pickup process was easy. The boba shop was quiet and relaxed with a few people inside.
I can see why people like the drinks from here. The tea flavor was strong and aromatic. I got matcha cloud jasmine tea, and it was not too sweet with a punch of jasmine tea flavor. I really liked the pecan added on top of the matcha cloud, it was nutty and crunchy, a perfect pair with the tea. The interior was pretty standard for a new tea shop featuring 2 kiosks to order drinks. I'm looking forward to come back to try other drinks.
We ordered the Osmanthus Lychee Lemon Tea and the Black Tea Frappe--both were absolutely delicious. The lemon tea was especially refreshing and PERFECT for these warm days we're having. Service was amazing too--everyone was so nice and welcoming. And major bonus points for being dog-friendly! They even give pawpaw cups for our doggos, which we absolutely loved. Such a cute touch so our dogs could enjoy the visit with us :) Definitely coming back!
Stopped by here before heading home, my sister bought me a milk tea and it was really good! I already knew it would be high-quality because of the fancy cups, the insulated carry-out bags, and the tiny stirrer-straws which usually indicate it's a higher-quality tea house, and I was right haha! 3.5 rounded to 4... I ordered online and it was ready for pickup pretty quick! The store was aesthetic and it seems like people order on the tablet. There's a good amount of seating and it's a good hangout spot. I got the lychee osmanthus milk tea and it was alright. Theres barely any tea flavor. It was more milky than anything. I got it less sweet and it was good enough for me. The aroma of lychee was there but I think it's just the lychee syrup. Overall maybe if I was in the area I might be down to try another drink but I have a feeling it might be too milky for me. read more
I enjoyed the drinks here. Chayan was open late and we came in late on a weekday night after dinner. The lot has plenty of spots in the late hours of the night. The location does kiosk ordering and there's about 3 tables inside if you want to enjoy your drinks there. The staff interaction is fairly minimal until it's time to pick up your drinks. They do offer a pitcher of samples to pour for yourself. I ordered the Matcha Coconut Milk Tea and my wife the Da-hong-pao Tea Lemon Tea. The drinks were done fast as we were the only ones at the time. As far the flavors, I was a fan of the Matcha Coconut Milk Tea. It was light and flavorful with balanced sweetness. It must of had a decent amount of caffeine because I was awake for a bit longer. Lol. My wife's lemon tea was also a good selection. Especially, if you don't want any matcha or latte drinks this was a great Tea option. The location is cool and they have info about each of their teas on the wall. The drink was great but the frappe was around $7.50 which I think is kinda pricey. I engulfed the drink real quick. The drink was good and service was fast because I was the only one there. Buying 2 drinks already come with their cooler bag unlike other places with 4 drinks. read more

The peach oolong milk tea was so good! I got less sugar but it was still pretty sweet enough IMO. The peach & oolong flavors were very strong. It wasn't that busy so fast service. The price being under $7 for a speciality boba shop is a steal in this economy. Would be back! read more
Ordered teas through DoorDash from this place. I have tried peach oolong tea with soy milk and matcha coconut milk latte. The teas weren't very strong but still refreshing. Not my top choice for teas though! read more

Very cute small boba place. Their tea quality is very good. We got the Osmanthus Lychee Lemon Tea and Camellia Oolong Frappe. All the flavors in the tea were very distinct and were refreshing. The Frappe is seasonal and was very floral and light. Drinks also came out quickly! Definitely try it if you're in the area! read more

Second time visiting and the quality didn't change from the first visit. We came back to try out the new drink flavors. Peach Oolong Tea A refreshing peach tea base that is light and creamy with a slight oolong taste. You can opt for whip cream with pecans on top. Aftertaste has a slight fragrant taste of peach. 9/10 Da Hong Pao Milk Tea Refreshing Oolong tea base that has a light taste. Aftertaste has a slight hint roast flavor and creaminess. 8/10 Ordered on the kiosk and we got our drinks pretty fast. Staff kindly asked specifically for optional whip cream and nuts for the Peach Oolong tea. Clean and spacious with tables and seating for hanging out with friends. read more
Chayan is a very aesthetic boba shop in Rowland. When you walk in, the space is decorated with a festive Lunar New Year theme. As soon as I entered, the worker asked if I needed help, and I gave her my online order number. She was efficient, friendly, and I noticed they were offering a few special deals for Lunar New Year, which was a nice touch. There's plenty of seating, making it a good spot to hang out with friends. A group of six was sitting near us, so it did get a bit loud, but the space overall feels open and comfortable. As for the drink, it was just okay for me. The flavor leaned more toward milk than tea, so the tea taste wasn't as strong as I prefer. read more
Super cute tea store! We made the trek from Alhambra and it was so worth it! It's like a mix of MoonTea and Molly Tea. Interior is very well decorated with samples at the front. The samples are in a very clean container (compared to a typical press lever dispenser) and it was super cold and yummy. We ordered the -Da Hong Pao Milk Tea (7/10) -Da Hong Pao Lemon Tea (7/10) -Matcha Green Tea Frappe (6/10) -Camellia Oolong Tea (8/10) Teas averaged from $6-$8 dollars. I liked the flavors but the gripe was that the frappe wasn't really icey moreso a matcha latte. Otherwise it was a fun experience. Staff were really sweet. read more

Once you step inside the shop, multiple staff greeted us with welcoming smile. They were super friendly and helpful. Ordered 2 drinks via Kiosk. Da-Hong-Pao Lemon Tea Guava Lemon Tea (Jasmine Tea) Both drinks were delicious with fresh fragrant. Cute cup cover like a trending teddy bear. Service was great. Ambiance is nice. Few tables inside or you can just grab and go. I will definitely be back to try non dairy latte next time. read more
we got the osmanthus milk tea and oolong milk tea!! the osmanthus was definitely the highlight and we 10/10 recommend. we're literally on an osmanthus high right now there are self order kiosks and they accept card only. the staff were friendly and efficient with orders even when crowded! there's seating for about 10-15 people and bathrooms for customers only. we also appreciated the slow sipper straws they have so you don't finish your drink fast like you do at other tea places. of note, there's no add-ons here like boba or jellies. read more

Chayan is a UK-based Chinese tea shop with its first U.S. location being in the Rowland Heights area. This spot is located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a modern setup with a decent amount of seating options. For their menu, they have a unique selection of different milk tea and fruit teas to choose from. Wifey got the Da Hong Pao Cream Cloud and I opted to get the Osmanthus Lychee Lemon Tea. There was definitely a wait to get our drinks but it was well worth it! read more
Another overseas tea franchise enters the fray and it's an all out boba battle since so many of them are popping up nearby and within the same time span. I initially got try Chayan since my boyfriend brought back one their milk tea pouches, but I finally got a chance to visit recently when they were having their BOGO free for their Gardenia series, which is either their Gardenia milk tea or their Gardenia tea frappe. The pouched milk tea I got was just a standard milk tea. Reminds of something you can get at an HK cafe with the dense milky flavor of it. Pretty good. Sadly the same cannot be said for the Gardenia series drinks that I got during their BOGO. If I paid full price, I don't think I'd be very happy, but at the very least I got BOGO free. For both the Gardenia Milk Tea and the Gardenia Tea frappe, I got it with less ice and 0% sugar. I usually order at this level to get more of the actual tea, floral, etc. subtle notes to the drink that isn't just sugar, but that's what really made these drinks fall behind in the boba wars. Both of the drinks were really light in flavor and honestly tasted just like their standard creamer milk if it was brewed next to a gardenia flower. I think La Croix has a stronger flavor than the drinks that I got which was pretty disappointing. Maybe the tea wasn't steeped long enough due to the high volume of orders, who knows? The tea frappe had foam at the top which was pretty to look at, but this, along with the thin trio straws, are the newest trend in all of the tea franchises opening around and sadly Chayan didn't stand out. Their cat stickers are pretty cute though and the bag is aesthetically pleasing. read more
After a really good dinner with some good friends it was time to look for a boba spot to go enjoy some after dinner drinks before heading home. While at the restaurant I was asking the server where we should go nearby and he say by the time you are done there is a really good spot that is still open and he recommended here. . It was a great choice because it was so good that I after one drink I had to order another one just for the road. So this tea place is actually from London and it is the first location that is opening up here in California. I really like the high quality tea and it was really strong and drinks are not sweet or you can do it without sweetener. . I enjoy the milk tea that I ordered with a really nice settle floral and refreshing milk tea. They do not have toppings like to Boba or anything else and it is just straight up tea and milk. It was so good quality that I had to go and order another one after the drink. The second drink I order was straight tea and some lemon and lime slices inside which was really refreshing and perfect for a citrusy lover drink. . The Ambiance inside is simple and the service is great and quick on making the drinks. There is plenty of parking outside. We all got two drinks because we really enjoy the tea quality here. The place had nice seating and parking was not as bad but I did go during the night on a weekday. This may vary depending busy hours as the plaza can get packed. As for drinks, we got the peach oolong milk tea and iced matcha latte. The peach oolong was not too sweet and you can taste the peach at the end. Matcha wasn't too bad but wasn't the best. The packaging is super cute though! I would try the other drinks with another visit! read more

PARKING: It's a huge parking lot! Plenty of parking! SEATING: A more casual seating situation! About 3 to 4 tables and a huge counter top for about 6 people to sit at. When I went there were tables available to sit at but I took my order to go. SERVICE: The kiosk was self serve. They were quite busy so I didn't have much to ask. The bobarista did ask if I was allergic to nuts because of the candied pecans. Other than that, she was nice and wished me a good day! FOOD: I got the Peach Oolong Frappe. I got it half sweet and it was perfect. The tea was fragrant and not too sweet. The whipped topping was yummy, but the real star of the shown was the candied pecans. I wish I had more of it! So, if you've seen some of my other reviews, y'all know I'm not the biggest milk tea fan. Not for any other reason, but that I usually prefer pure or fruit teas instead depending on my mood. However, since I had such a great experience with ChaHalo and was in the plaza already, I decided to give this place a try. I opted to order from Fantuan for pickup while I was waiting for my order (of delicious veggie rice at No. 1 Rice) and decided to stroll over slowly since the app said it would take 15 min. First, for a rainy day, the place was surprisingly busy. Service was super friendly, with staff asking me if I need any help since I entered and just stood to the side. When they heard I was picking up an order, they asked me for my number and let me know the order was ready to go and asked if I wanted a bag; something I super appreciated since sometimes I don't need a bag and feel bad when it's already bagged. Grabbed the drinks and headed home to try; here's what mummy and I decided; all teas were less sugar: Peach oolong milk tea, less ice - solid peach flavour, but more of a "kids drink" feel for us. Could see my nieces and nephews liking this one. Gardenia milk tea, cold (no ice) - very solid gardenia flavour, not overwhelming but definitely gardenia-y. Tried this spot recently and was pretty disappointed with the milk tea here. The shop itself has quite a few tables with seating which is nice. The plaza also has plentiful parking. Service was nice and offered us samples of the jasmine MT and osmanthus MT. I decided to get the jasmine MT since that's usually my go to for comparing new boba spots. Their regular sweetness is half sweet already so I would recommend just sticking with this if you usually get half sweet. Unfortunately, it was quite diluted and watered down and didn't have a very strong tea flavor. They also have a foam top that has pecans in it but they did not make the allergens clear and I'm allergic to pecans so hopefully they make this clear for other customers in case of any accidental ingestion! read more
