The black tea tapiochi doesn't really have any flavor but the brown sugar tapiochi has the distinct roasted taste, which adds more character to the popcorn milk tea. So I got the popcorn milk tea and I feel like that's the only thing I only want from them now. It's a strong toasty tea blend with rich creamy buttery popcorn flavor, tastes just like a cereal milk or almost like a corn milk! A small but cozy hangout spot with some minimal aesthetic decors, it was half packed with teens and adults around 8pm on a Sunday but plenty parking outside. Service was fast and nice. Only complain I have is that this small cup of drink does not really worth $9 to me. They do have some other interesting teas but the price is just little shocking to me. read more

This review is specifically for the Jasmine Oolong with Brown Sugar Mochi Jelly because this drink is SO HEAVENLY that I literally refuse to try anything else here. The drink is super smooth and creamy with really strong jasmine and oolong flavors. And the brown sugar mochi jelly??? Boba WHO? It's soft, chewy, and honestly so much better than boba. The best part is that you can even save your drink for the next day and the mochi jelly stays soft instead of getting hard like boba does. I cannot recommend this specific order enough. There's a reason Torotea has expanded so much! I'm not the biggest fan of the Diamond Bar location purely because of the line, so I'd recommend trying one of their other locations if you don't want to wait as long. You can also order online on weekdays to avoid the line, but there is a small online fee. Also shoutout to whoever designed their shops because they absolutely killed the boho vibes. The chino location seems to be more convenient to me only because they have a larger parking lot. I got the creme brulee drink which is always very good. I also got the matcha duo einspanner which i felt like wasn't as good as the regular matcha einspanner. I'm used to the toro tea in Chino making that one a thick texture so I assumed the duo einspanner would be the same but more matcha but the flavor and texture just wasn't as good. One of my favorite milk tea spots! Bummed at their recent price hike - one of my favorites the popcorn milk tea is now around $9... I tend to get their fruit teas like the calamansi oolong twist as their milk teas, albeit incredibly fragrant, are not as strong as I'd like after milk is added. I used to love coming to torotea from OC, but after today I probably won't visit as often or at all. While the drinks have remained consistent as far as I can tell, there has been a SIGNIFICANT price increase across all drinks on the menu. The lack of a rewards program also makes it less enticing to return, as they used to have one in the very beginning. We went when it wasn't super busy but when it is you can join the virtual waitlist to secure your spot. We really tasted the freshness and the tea in both drinks which is always what you want and expect in your milk tea. The jelly had only a mild passionfruit flavor but was still good and unique. Grabbed my ride-or-die Koan-Im Oolong Latte and paired it with a donut from my favorite donut shop like I was assembling the perfect duo for a late night snack. The tea was lightly sweetened perfectly to my liking, smooth, and clearly crafted by someone who respects tea leaves more than I respect my sleep schedule. The cloud top was basically dalgona candy foam and felt like a bonus dessert after finishing the drink. Even with a lot of people waiing, service moved fast, in & out in about 7 mins. I enjoy their tapiochi a lot, it's a mix between boba and mochi as the name implies, so it's a softer texture than boba. This is what makes Torotea unique, along with their high quality tea. I'm personally not a huge fan of their popcorn milk tea, but I think that's because I don't like popcorn or "buttery" notes. I'm a huge fan of their misty oolong milk tea, which they say is malty, roasty, and creamy. It's the ideal nutty milk tea that I envision. Their jasmine oolong milk tea is more floral so sometimes I go for that instead. I'll happily go to Torotea every time I'm in Diamond Bar, but I hope they open in OC soon! Although my previous 3 star review of this place, i still think its a decent place to come so from time to time I would still come but it is just not a 5 star boba shop overall including services. And trust me, i have been to hundreds if not thousands of boba shop including international. This time around, I went there to order a popcorn milk tea as usual without ice. First they came out having ice in there...fine little mistakes , no biggie. I told them about it and the server apologized and took it in for people inside to change it. Good service right there. Now when it came back out, the cup is wet and i saw a chuck of ice was gone...AND milk tea ( not sure if the wetness if the cup is water or milk tea ) but regardless #1 they didnt even give an effort to clean or wipe down the cup for me after taking out the ice #2 they obviously didnt refill any milk tea back #3 the main reason for me not having ice was i dont want my milk tea to be water down by ice overtime and it was there with ice for a few minutes, im sure it watered down some so they didnt even bother to fill back the missing tea. Inside you'll find a nice seating/waiting area with a kind of South western decor - kind of like Sedona AZ. Server is very friendly and welcoming. The drinks here seem to be better quality than other places. The drinks have a good tea flavor as the base. We had the Dalgona Cloud Top Kian-im Oolong Latte and the Ember Milktea with barley Jelly. I was recommended this place by a coworker who drives from Orange to Diamond Bar for these drinks. All in all I see could the hype and understand why she and others rave about Torotea. I had to check my credit card statement to confirm that I have been here 5 times in the last 6 weeks. I order the Osmanthus Citrus refresher with osmanthus jelly every time because it's the perfect wind down drink after a shift. Since the place is often packed, I choose to do an online order and when you arrive you can go straight to the counter and pick up your drinks. Also a good thing is they place your drinks in a cooler so it doesn't melt. The staff are always friendly and offer samples that pique my interest to try other drinks. It's been a while since I've been here. Decided to make a pit stop on a Friday afternoon since it was traffic. It's just as I remembered it. It has such a chill and modern vibe. You can find there menu on a projected screen facing the wall where you order (which can be hard to see once you walk in). There is also a menu up against the walk where the self ordering kiosks are (but doesn't seem to be working). I ordered the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi and tried the jasmine matcha latte. The popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi was just as I remembered it. It was delicious. Nice and toasty, just like popcorn. You get that milk tea taste as well. And the brown sugar tapiochi balances the toasty flavor you get from the popcorn. The jasmine matcha latte tasted like straight up matcha. Didn't really get any taste if the jasmine. But I guess that's cos matcha is such a strong flavor. I wish they had an option for light ice cos it seemed like the drinks were full of ice. The guy who took my order was nice. Received great service from him. He was very friendly. 4.5 stars : I understand why I've been hearing about Torotea more lately. They do have different flavors with unique additions. Tried the Ember tea with Barley "boba." It really reminds me of grass jelly, but with a lighter taste - very nice. Also tried the Dalgona tea with the cloud (Himalayan salt) and that one edged out the other as the favorite for me. You can tell they're using good quality ingredients. Came on Sunday afternoon and there was no line, although plenty of people came in and out - popular place! It seems like it's more of a "to-go" place since there are no tables. But there is a "bench" along the walls for people to sit as they wait for their orders. Both drinks are so unique in how it's made that you will not find it anywhere! They are a bit pricey but worth it! The popcorn milk is boba taste like popcorn, not too sweet and chewy! The milk tea that goes with the popcorn is not sweet! So the complements each other where the drink is not too sweet! The oolong tea is made from quality tea as well. The Creme Brulee Icemilk with Brown sugar is out of this world!! Its a house made brown sugar tapiochi with creamy & chilled home-made milk base. They top it off with freshly toasted creme brulee caramelized layer. Its caffeine free too so perfect drink if you want to be able to sleep at night! Torotea is so busy that before you had to add yourself to the waitlist before they allow you inside to take the order! It was so ridiculous! But it was worth the trouble! One of my current absolute favorites. Normally Milk Teas at my age aren't my go-to, but I'll always make the exception for Torotea. My favorite drink so far is the Koan-Im Oolong Milk Tea (Less Sweet & Regular Ice) w/Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi. Just the right amount of floral notes & roasted flavor without being too sweet & the brown sugar mochi texture has all the best part about grass jelly & boba all in one. Regular Ice is also just enough ice so that your drink stays refreshingly cold & I actually end up with no leftover ice normally. I've been a huge fan of ToroTea ever since they first opened. Unfortunately, I do feel that their quality has gone way down hill. I was in denial this past year and have ordered from them a few more times, always thinking that each bad order was just a one-off, but always regretting paying for - yet again - a watery, flavorless $7 drink. Alas, I think it's safe to say that this may be my last time ordering from them. When I first tried ToroTea, I was convinced this was the best milktea shop in Southern California. It really was. However, this past year, I've noticed that the quality has been on a decline. For example, I was obsessed with their popcorn milk tea. Now, (according to the last two times I've ordered it) the drink hardly tastes like tea (or milk for that matter). I fell in love with ToroTea for their tea-forward drinks, but now, I can hardly taste the tea. Sipping their drinks tastes like drinking watered down milk with a whisper of tea. I was also obsessed with the Koan-Im milk tea, but that one tastes like water down milk with a slight cardboard (not even strong) flavor (hardly taste the tea). I feel bad because the service and ambiance are great- although, you can really tell people have moved on because there are hardly any lines or anyone chilling in the shop anymore.
