Torotea is a boba tea shop with multiple locations across the Southern California area. This one is located in a small plaza in Diamond Bar. We went when it wasn't super busy but when it is you can join the virtual waitlist to secure your spot. We got the jasmine oolong milk tea ($6.60) with passionfruit jelly ($1) and the misty oolong milk tea ($6.60) with brown sugar tapiochi ($1). We really tasted the freshness and the tea in both drinks which is always what you want and expect in your milk tea. The jelly had only a mild passionfruit flavor but was still good and unique. The brown sugar tapiochi was interesting. The drinks were on the pricier side especially with the smaller volume. The quality of the tea was good though so if that's what you value, this is a good place to go. read more

This location is a bit smaller than the San Marino location. Parking is also more impacted. Despite the place being busy we got our drinks at a reasonable time! Misty oolong milk tea 3/5 super light oolong tea. It's on the lighter side. I would prefer the oolong tea to be stronger! Stopped by Torotea this afternoon and was immediately surprised by how busy it was. The parking lot is tiny and completely packed, and the tea shop itself was just as crowded. The space is clean and minimalist, with a menu that offers a good variety of drinks. We ordered the Dalgona Cloud Top Oolong Latte and the Ember Milk Tea with barley jelly, and both were delicious. The flavors were unique and the tea tasted high quality, The drinks felt a little pricey for the size. There is some seating inside, but with how crowded it was, I'd much rather grab my drink and go. The staff was efficient and got orders out quickly, though a little more warmth and friendliness would have made the experience even better. Torotea might just be my new favorite drink spot! The inside was super unique, felt like you were in a clay house, and the service was great. I told the lady it was my first time and she recommended trying a sample of the Jasmine oolong tea, which tasted amazing so I ordered one with Osmanthus jelly, which she recommended would pair nicely with the Jasmine oolong tea ($7.34). I enjoy their tapiochi a lot, it's a mix between boba and mochi as the name implies, so it's a softer texture than boba. This is what makes Torotea unique, along with their high quality tea. I'm personally not a huge fan of their popcorn milk tea, but I think that's because I don't like popcorn or "buttery" notes. I'm a huge fan of their misty oolong milk tea, which they say is malty, roasty, and creamy. It's the ideal nutty milk tea that I envision. Their jasmine oolong milk tea is more floral so sometimes I go for that instead. I'll happily go to Torotea every time I'm in Diamond Bar, but I hope they open in OC soon! Had to make my 1000th review count, so naturally I chose Torotea, the place that keeps my tea addiction thriving. I usually hit their San Marino spot, but this location still delivered the goods. The shop's a bit small inside, but service was nice. Grabbed my ride-or-die Koan-Im Oolong Latte and paired it with a donut from my favorite donut shop like I was assembling the perfect duo for a late night snack. The tea was lightly sweetened perfectly to my liking, smooth, and clearly crafted by someone who respects tea leaves more than I respect my sleep schedule. The cloud top was basically dalgona candy foam and felt like a bonus dessert after finishing the drink. Even with a lot of people waiing, service moved fast, in & out in about 7 mins. Although my previous 3 star review of this place, i still think its a decent place to come so from time to time I would still come but it is just not a 5 star boba shop overall including services. And trust me, i have been to hundreds if not thousands of boba shop including international. This time around, I went there to order a popcorn milk tea as usual without ice. First they came out having ice in there...fine little mistakes , no biggie. I told them about it and the server apologized and took it in for people inside to change it. Good service right there. Now when it came back out, the cup is wet and i saw a chuck of ice was gone...AND milk tea ( not sure if the wetness if the cup is water or milk tea ) but regardless #1 they didnt even give an effort to clean or wipe down the cup for me after taking out the ice #2 they obviously didnt refill any milk tea back #3 the main reason for me not having ice was i dont want my milk tea to be water down by ice overtime and it was there with ice for a few minutes, im sure it watered down some so they didnt even bother to fill back the missing tea. Come on torotea, your shop is already overhype in the beginning but you cannot even do some common sense basic service now? read more

High quality tea shop near the DB post office. Located in a shopping center with good parking available. Inside you'll find a nice seating/waiting area with a kind of South western decor - kind of like Sedona AZ. Server is very friendly and welcoming. The drinks here seem to be better quality than other places. The drinks have a good tea flavor as the base. We had the Dalgona Cloud Top Kian-im Oolong Latte and the Ember Milktea with barley Jelly. It's been a while since I've been here. Decided to make a pit stop on a Friday afternoon since it was traffic. It's just as I remembered it. It has such a chill and modern vibe. You can find there menu on a projected screen facing the wall where you order (which can be hard to see once you walk in). There is also a menu up against the walk where the self ordering kiosks are (but doesn't seem to be working). I ordered the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi and tried the jasmine matcha latte. The popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi was just as I remembered it. It was delicious. Nice and toasty, just like popcorn. You get that milk tea taste as well. And the brown sugar tapiochi balances the toasty flavor you get from the popcorn. The jasmine matcha latte tasted like straight up matcha. Didn't really get any taste if the jasmine. But I guess that's cos matcha is such a strong flavor. I wish they had an option for light ice cos it seemed like the drinks were full of ice. The guy who took my order was nice. Received great service from him. He was very friendly. 4.5 stars : I understand why I've been hearing about Torotea more lately. They do have different flavors with unique additions. Tried the Ember tea with Barley "boba." It really reminds me of grass jelly, but with a lighter taste - very nice. Also tried the Dalgona tea with the cloud (Himalayan salt) and that one edged out the other as the favorite for me. You can tell they're using good quality ingredients. Came on Sunday afternoon and there was no line, although plenty of people came in and out - popular place! It seems like it's more of a "to-go" place since there are no tables. But there is a "bench" along the walls for people to sit as they wait for their orders. My go-to place is closer to home, but these flavors are unique and worth trying out. I need to try the popcorn tea - apparently that's a popular one. read more

Also the tapiochi is chewy and sweet which is a good compliment to the drink. Overall, service was very fast even with a lot of people ahead of me. One of my favorite Boba Tea! Luckily for me it's only a few minutes from my house. My 2 favorite drinks are the popcorn milk tea ($7.60) and the creme brulee milk tea ($7.85)! Both drinks are so unique in how it's made that you will not find it anywhere! They are a bit pricey but worth it! The popcorn milk is boba taste like popcorn, not too sweet and chewy! The milk tea that goes with the popcorn is not sweet! So the complements each other where the drink is not too sweet! The oolong tea is made from quality tea as well. The Creme Brulee Icemilk with Brown sugar is out of this world!! Its a house made brown sugar tapiochi with creamy & chilled home-made milk base. They top it off with freshly toasted creme brulee caramelized layer. Its caffeine free too so perfect drink if you want to be able to sleep at night! Torotea is so busy that before you had to add yourself to the waitlist before they allow you inside to take the order! It was so ridiculous! But it was worth the trouble! I've been a huge fan of ToroTea ever since they first opened. Unfortunately, I do feel that their quality has gone way down hill. I was in denial this past year and have ordered from them a few more times, always thinking that each bad order was just a one-off, but always regretting paying for - yet again - a watery, flavorless $7 drink. Alas, I think it's safe to say that this may be my last time ordering from them. When I first tried ToroTea, I was convinced this was the best milktea shop in Southern California. It really was. However, this past year, I've noticed that the quality has been on a decline. For example, I was obsessed with their popcorn milk tea. Now, (according to the last two times I've ordered it) the drink hardly tastes like tea (or milk for that matter). I fell in love with ToroTea for their tea-forward drinks, but now, I can hardly taste the tea. Sipping their drinks tastes like drinking watered down milk with a whisper of tea. I was also obsessed with the Koan-Im milk tea, but that one tastes like water down milk with a slight cardboard (not even strong) flavor (hardly taste the tea). I feel bad because the service and ambiance are great- although, you can really tell people have moved on because there are hardly any lines or anyone chilling in the shop anymore. One of my current absolute favorites. Normally Milk Teas at my age aren't my go-to, but I'll always make the exception for Torotea. My favorite drink so far is the Koan-Im Oolong Milk Tea (Less Sweet & Regular Ice) w/Brown Sugar Tapioca Mochi. Just the right amount of floral notes & roasted flavor without being too sweet & the brown sugar mochi texture has all the best part about grass jelly & boba all in one. Regular Ice is also just enough ice so that your drink stays refreshingly cold & I actually end up with no leftover ice normally. Parking isn't too bad, vibe is super relaxed, sort of spa vibe with relaxed lighting. Whenever I'm somewhat close, I always drop by for a quick boba! My family and I have been here multiple times so this review is long overdue. We visited after Soccer practice on a Monday around 7pm yelp live wait under 5 mins so I didn't check in actually pulled up no wait party of 5. We personally love the Osmanthus tea perfectly sweet with ice add the osmanthus jelly or passion fruit jelly either you can't go wrong! Love how this tea is caffeine free! Popcorn milk tea is also yummy you will certainly enjoy! My niece got the Crème brulee and she enjoyed that she said it was creamy thick and delicious! Employees are super nice and welcoming! I had heard about Torotea a while ago on TikTok but i knew that it could get pretty packed so i hadn't had the chance to check it out. But last night while in the area i saw they were open late and decided to check it out . Even at 10 pm there was still a huge crowd outside and in. Inside there isn't much seating and it's pretty small but it has a really clean and chic vibe. They had free sample of oolong tea to try and it was really tasty and refreshing. I decided to order the Popcorn milk tea which is their most popular and i was pleasantly surprised. It did smell like butter and had a hint of buttery taste but overall it was really light and refreshing. It also had tapioca squares which were really good. A Unique Experience, But Not Quite Worth the Return This place has been around for a while, but I never visited because the signage outside gives absolutely no indication that it's a bubble tea shop. I only stopped in after a friend's recommendation. Walking in, the music is blasting at a level that's honestly hard on your ears. That said, the interior decor is quite distinctive and has a cozy, comfortable vibe. One thing that surprised me -- and not in a good way -- is that they still use manual ordering instead of the screen-based ordering systems most modern boba shops have adopted. It feels a bit behind the times. Now, the drink itself: the first sip is genuinely impressive. The milk flavor is rich and pronounced, the jelly pieces inside are delicious, and there's a creamy top layer that adds a lovely aroma. It's not overly sweet either, which I appreciated -- for many Asian customers, the sweetness level felt just right. However, the downsides are hard to ignore. There is no customization -- you cannot request less ice or adjust your sugar level, which is pretty standard at most boba shops today. The cup is tiny, roughly the size of a Starbucks short, yet costs over $7. To make matters worse, about half the cup is ice and the rest is mostly milk. After that amazing first sip, the drink starts to feel heavy and cloying. Another frustration: the cream clings to the sides of the cup, making it nearly impossible to enjoy fully. Torotea is one of the most unique tea houses. I love the aesthetic and decor that they have going on, as it's very minimalist and somewhat brutalist in design. Speaking of the uniqueness, I believe their selection of drinks is one of the most unique menus you can find by OC. The parking can be a bit rough at busier times, but worse than that is the waitlist if you don't manage to find a time that isn't busy. Every time I've gone, there's been a 20-40 minute waitlist, which is incredibly long to wait for drinks in my opinion. The drinks do taste great, but do note that the waitlist can be incredibly long at times. There's not much space inside so it's more of a stop and go type of cafe as well. I ordered the popcorn milk tea myself, which includes brown sugar tapiochi, and my girlfriend got the dalgona cloud top koan-im oolong latte. She wanted to add mochi to her drink, but they didn't allow it for some reason, which is a bit of a downer. The drink itself was also kind of watery, and didn't have much taste to it. I will admit, however, that I LOVE the popcorn milk tea. The title itself is interesting in its own right, but it has the most unique taste to it, topped with the brown sugar tapiochi, creates a unique and sweet profile to it. Overall, besides the waitlists and restrictions for what can be added to drinks, I would still recommend trying Torotea if you're nearby. Overrated and expensive. With the servers recommendation, I got the popcorn tea and asked for it WITHOUT their tapiochi and she said ok. My drink comes with it and asked if I can get it removed but they said they can't remove it because it's a preset in their system and so I was charged $1 for something I wanted removed. Money aside, I can't comprehend why they couldn't just NOT scoop their tapiochi for my cup. Is it a foreign concept to not serve tapiochi in their popcorn milk tea? Like you can't just not put that thing in my cup before pouring ice and tea? I don't get it. "Less sweet" is a little too sweet for me. The tapiochi was alright but I'm still hung up on the fact several employees said they couldn't NOT scoop that thing in. So weird lol. The milk tea was fresh and creamy, but the tapioca was honestly overrated. It was less chewy and more like a jelly, which I personally did not care for. And for a person who loves their boba, their ratio was honestly too high. More than half of my drink was just tapioca, which I thought was too much. Still my favorite tea place. I've tried almost all the milk tea variations, but the Cassia, Koan-Im and Bamboo Jade are my favorites. I can't believe the cassia is caffeine free. It's the perfect option to get in the evening if you're caffeine sensitive. The popcorn was the first one I tried but after trying other options it's no longer on the top for me. Bamboo jade oolong milk tea -no ice -less sweet -brown sugar tapiochi Creme brûlée ice milk with brown sugar tapiochi -no adjustments -JUST KEEP MIXING -I feel like this drink was a workout. The cream will of course float to the top, but you can't get the best of both the cream and drink unless you're constantly mixing. -if I were to get this again, I would do it without topping so I can just sip from the top and save myself all that energy. The last 3 oz of drink was just the cream! And trust me I mixed rigorously before every sip! Torotea has been my go-to spot since its grand opening in 2024! Their drinks are all so fragrant, and I have most likely tried every drink the key. My favorite milk tea is the Koan-I'm with the black tea jelly, and for fruit drink, it would be osmanthus citrusy refresher, which is a very refreshing and light drink. The ambiance is very calm, and it's a very modern interior. There's limited seating though, and more of a grab & go spot. The staff are always friendly and thorough with every explanation of drinks everytime I bring a new friend here! I'd recommend checking it out if you're in the area. read more
