I don't often come to Cafe BT. When I do, it's usually because I'm craving an almond milk tea. Most boba places don't offer almond milk tea anymore. It's been a while since I came here so I'm not sure if they have it anymore. Today, I wanted something more refreshing and opted out for a grapefruit green tea. Since it is still a bit warm, it was definitely refreshing. Upon arrival, it is a very cute cafe. Dimly lit but there's still sunlight entering from the large windows. This place is definitely a hot spot for a lot of students from the surrounding schools. It is warm inside due how many people are inside. They also have an outdoor patio which is great especially since there's more space outside than inside. Service was fast and were able to get my drink out quickly. read more

I've been coming here for over 20 years, and it was the first place where I ever tried frozen yogurt. Even though I live farther away now, I always make a point to stop by when I'm in the area. The owner is incredibly friendly and still recognizes me after all these years. The patio area is a great spot to relax--I have fond memories of watching Lakers games there and hanging out with friends. I'm glad to see they're still thriving. I've been coming here since it was previously known as Boba Time - vs BT Cafe. They've made the outside patio area in the side a nice place to hang out - weather permitting. Inside is a nice seating area too, but it's smaller than the outside area and it can get busy. Their drinks have always been very good and well made. Our go to is the red bean smoothie - nicely blended and good flavor. Sweet but not sugary. This place used to be a 4-5 star place for me, but lately it's been taking longer to get my drinks made. Last time we were here it took about 20 minutes for our drinks to be made. Also, the sizing of their cups are smaller than what we used to receive. We still go occasionally to get their red bean shake, but unfortunately not as often as previously. read more

They still have good drinks, but the cups seem smaller and the prices seem higher, which doesn't mesh well with me, all things considered. It also took a very long time to get our order. We had to ask about it and this was already after waiting a good 20 minutes. Then we had to wait a little longer. They have a really nice patio outside and it's great for gathering together. Inside there are always a lot people working or talking. Overall it's still a good place, but it's definitely gone down a bit in my opinion. The red bean smoothie is still good, but didn't hit the spot quite like it used to. Maybe it was an off day in terms of service and the smoothie, but it definitely put a damper on this visit. read more

It's pretty warm if you're inside. There's an outdoor patio area and it's very cute and spacious! There's a couple heaters as well. It usually gets more crowded towards the evening = gets noisy. There are outlets inside and on the patio, but not everywhere so be selective of where you sit. Parking lot is small, but never found it hard to find a spot even when it was crowded. TDLR: 100% on the pricier side, but if you don't mind, it's a super cozy place to study or socialize. The ades are pricey, but tastes good and a good option for caffeinated drinks. Chai latte is mid. Sweet potato latte is pretty good. Inside area is warm, patio can get cold even with warmers. I've always found parking. Wifi and outlets available, but not everywhere. read more

I love coming here to study! The outdoor patio is huge, which makes it perfect for bringing a large group to work on assignments, prepare for exams, or just hang out between classes. There's plenty of space, and the outdoor setting makes studying feel much more relaxed than being stuck indoors. I also really appreciate that they're open late, especially when I need a place to focus in the evening. The drinks are consistently good, and I especially recommend the strawberry banana smoothie. It's rare to find places with this much space; there are tables for both small groups and larger ones of up to 7-8 people, plus comfortable seating throughout. There's even more seating outside, which has become popular now that the weather's warming up--perfect for soaking in some sun while you work or relax. They do serve food, though I didn't try any this time. I went for the passion fruit ade, and honestly, I'd get it again. That one drink alone convinced me the rest of their drink menu is probably worth exploring. Though it did seem like their boba was popular too. Overall, it's a great spot for productivity with a solid drink menu and food options if you need them. I came here because I was looking for a place to study and have a meal at the same time. I saw they served food and thought 'ok!' I hade a strawberry matcha tea that was actually amazing 10/10. I was first introduced to this place by my friend and I really enjoy the cozy atmosphere. The cafe is a bit small, but they also have outside seating so whenever it's sunny out, it's nice to do some studying. This place is really popular amongst students so if you're looking to study here, I recommend going earlier during a weekday. I was told that the dana slush is good so I gave it a try and this has been my go-to order whenever I get the chance to visit. It's the perfect amount of sweet and sour and it's enough to share with 2+ people. The staff are really nice and they make sure that you get your order as soon as possible. Hello! I started to come regularly a couple weeks ago and it was starting to be a great place to study. i liked the service by all the young workers and the drinks were pretty decent from the menu change. until last week and today, my vibes kept getting killed by this man with a white hat. i'm pretty sure he's like the owner or something. sometime last week i just needed to use an outlet real quick to respond to an email on my computer. the only other outlet open was the one near the disability table. so i was just going to use it for a minute to charge and sit somewhere else. not even a couple minutes, the man in the white golf hat just told me it was for people with disabilities, which i totally understood. i told him i'll move in a second because there were people still in the seats and because it was hot outside. but what really bothered me was that he said "Yeah go sit somewhere else". His tone sounded like he was treating me like a child. I didn't appreciate it but I went on my day seating somewhere else in the store. The incident today was insane. i literally came into the store to buy a drink, but didn't even get to do so . i walked in the store set my water bottle, backpack and energy drink down on a table. this man literally just tells me "no outside drinks" and points at my energy drink. i was im the store for like 5 seconds. i was literally about to buy a drink from the store man. i were him i would've waited until i ordered and then kick me out . gotta get the money first and then enforce policy. i totally get if there's policies, but he could've said please every time. he just ket sounding demanding like i was a kid. if i come next time and he gives me an attitude i'll just let him know to sound a little nicer to his customers. we're here to help support the store, the least you can do is be nice to them. even if we're not Korean. the older people in the store really favor you as a customer if you're Korean. if you're not, they might ignore you and have the younger workers serve you. 진짜 예의 없어요 :/ read more

Awesome place to hang out with lots of seating inside and outside. Open late which is always a plus. Service was great. Had the Dana slush which was certainly a very interesting drink with a cool combination of yogurt and slush. The drinks here were not bad but a lot of boba shops in this area and in the LA area in general just make better tasting drinks. read more

I've been going to this cafe for years and I am SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED by this new change in cup size. Making their drinks "one size only" which spoiler alert is smaller then the original size. And the audacity to raise the price for a smaller amount of drink... I would have rather pay a little more and get the normal size than pay more for half the amount. when yelp describes this as the perfect study/hangout spot they aren't kidding!! there's tons of cozy seating both inside and out, umbrellas, outlets, free wifi, a late closing time, and an atmosphere with just the right amount of noise!! the crowd is definitely other college students so be wary if that's not your thing, but for my friend and i it was perfect! the service was also really great and i actually wish i tipped more since i didn't initially realize the staff would bring the food over to me. when ordering, i initially chose the sea salt jasmine tea and wanted almond milk in it, but the worker swiftly informed me that the sea salt foams were premade with a different milk, but that i could still get a normal jasmine tea with almond milk foam and that's just what i did! the tea was fragrant and just the right amount of sweet for me. absolutely delish! we also split their house shaved ice with red bean which was a great price for two people and kept us both pretty full. it was loaded with fresh fruit and i don't think we even finished it all. we also both actually locked in and got our work done, which tells u how effective of a study spot this is. not to mention they have good music playing at the perfect volume while being located only a short drive away from the universities. so excited to study here in the future :) read more

Came here on a Wednesday evening around 8PM and it was pretty busy, but thankfully my friend and I were able to snag a table. If you're looking for food, they close the kitchen after a certain time, so just be prepared. I ended up getting a strawberry yogurt smoothie with boba and it was yummy! The yogurt smoothie base tastes like yakult, so having the strawberry chunks at the bottom helps cut some of the tartness. I was worried the boba might get a bit tough since it's a smoothie, but it stayed nice and chewy. The yogurt smoothie only comes in one size (L) so it can be a bit pricey with boba ($7.65) but was a nice splurge. Would definitely come back in the future! read more

Boy, am I glad our original plan didn't work out, otherwise we would not have found this super cute and charming place!! Picture walking into the home of your best friend or coziest person you know. That personifies that vibe of this place. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating - we sat outside. It reminded us every bit of our own homes...lots to look at, lots of plants, great books, and cozy spots where you can chat and enjoy a dessert, coffee, or light snack. We opted for dessert as we had just eaten brunch and loved every bit of it! We shared the fruit shave ice which consisted of perfectly shaved "snow" ice. The environment of this cafe is nicely set up and the drinks are pretty good. However for studying purposes, this place is NOT good to lock in and focus on your academics. It is one of the hottest days in California (103 degrees Fahrenheit) and everyone in the cafe is sweating. We've asked the employees if they can adjust to a lower temperature, which was set at 85 degrees, and they're not able to do so. There is also a big table that has reserved on it that they will only allow parties of 5 or more sit at and if you are not a bigger party they will kick you out when seating is a free for all. We gave up our table to sit at the bigger table and they ended up kicking us out when we payed for drinks to stay in the cafe because we were students. They also lied to us saying we had to leave because a bigger party was coming in to sit at the big table and we said we would wait till they came in. Instead they said they actually only save the table for non-students, but the table says reserved so who is supposed to know who sits there? read more

*FOOD QUALITY* Overall: I remember back in the day when this was BobaTime and it was a hookah joint as well - so happy to know that the Dana Slush still exists on the menu with the cafe rebrand because that was a legendary boba culinary experience. Turkey Avocado Sandwich (5/5): I appreciated the cut-up strawberry chunks on the plate as well as the presentation which was so appealing and vibrant to look at! The croissant, turkey slice, and avocado combo is never a miss and this one was good :) Large Milk Tea (5/5): LOVE the boba texture - so firm and bouncy but had a perfect sweetness. The milk tea was also well flavored and did the classic well. *CUSTOMER SERVICE* The servers reminded me so much of being in a kdrama - they were dressed to the prime and were very friendly and patient with our orders. They would bring the plates and drinks to where my friend and I were seating, and you can often see them maintaining the space such as cleaning the windows/doors. *AMBIANCE* The outdoor backyard area is very cutely decorated with plants and furniture that show a modern, chill vibe. It's great to catch up on a warm summer, early fall night - every time that I've been there it's been a gathering of older folk smoking and a mix of young students hanging out. The interior of the cafe is so endearing (re: cafe and servers reminding me of a kdrama) - the lighting and details in furniture and coloring is fantastic as well as the large windows flanking the two sides of the cafe allowing sunlight to glimmer in. Many different demographics spend time here, some on their laptops working or studying, others are young children with their parents, etc. *PARKING* The parking lot for this plaza is a bit small but I found spots to the side of the Cafe BT, facing the buildings on the other side. read more

I wanted to like Cafe BT--it's got a great vibe and decent coffee. But my visit was awkward and the service from the staff really bothered me. The café wasn't busy at all when I was there; plenty of empty tables. I was settling in to get some work done when I noticed a few customers who were studying or working with drinks from the cafe being asked to leave by the staff. Their attitude was pretty abrupt and it just didn't make sense given how empty the place was and how these students were paying customers. It left me feeling pretty confused and uncomfortable. I'm all for cafes having their own policies, but when there's no crowd and you're treating people unfairly, it just doesn't sit right. It felt like a real slap in the face to people who were just trying to use the space like I was. I called the cafe the next day to ask if they had any policies on how long a paying customer could stay if the place was slow and they said they had none. HUH? So what did I just witness the other day? Unnecessary treatment and bad service? I hope they can work on making their service more consistent and fair, because as of now, I can't really recommend this place if you're planning to meet with a group of people or studying. read more
