I have Matcha Cafe Maiko bookmarked for a while. It is located at Atlantic Time Square. The cafe has indoor seating. I like the Japanese art around. The cafe has cozy vibes. They have a high quality matcha and many matcha drinks for matcha lovers. The menu includes hot drinks, tea , latte , kokuto jelly drinks, frappe, shaved ice, soft- serve ice cream, parfait, float, and more. We ordered strawberry Matcha latte and Banana Matcha Latte. We got the large size for an extra dollar. We paid $21.32 for two dinks including tax. The drinks are kind of pricey, but the quality was good. The service was very fast. Yes! I will come back to try other drinks or ice cream
The matcha soft serve was so gooood but as for anything else matcha... it falls flat for me. The soft serves were great but I personally wasn't a fan of any of their drinks. The service is standard and the place is small and tucked away in a plaza. I would recommend getting their soft serve!

We ordered the Maiko Special, matcha and ube soft serve cones, Mango Matcha Latte, and Cheese Foam Matcha Latte. The Maiko Special was definitely my favorite. The soft serve was super creamy with a nice matcha flavor, and it came with so many toppings like mochi balls, red bean, chestnut, sponge cake, cornflakes, and jelly. Every bite had something different, and it wasn't overly sweet. The matcha soft serve had a nice earthy flavor, while the ube was sweeter and creamier. Both were really good, especially if you're craving something cold. For drinks, I really enjoyed their new Mango Matcha Latte. I wasn't sure how mango and matcha would taste together, but they actually worked really well! The Cheese Foam Matcha Latte was another favorite. The creamy, slightly salty foam went perfectly with the matcha. Overall, really enjoyed everything we tried. Great spot to grab a matcha drink or dessert with friends. I'd definitely come back to try more of their menu!
10/10 Ube and Matcha soft serve swirl - Omg this is literally perfection right here. The aesthetics, the combination of flavors, and the crunchy, delicious cone!! I love this spot. I've never been to a location I haven't liked. Cost - $8.29
Right next to my favorite Hawaiian restaurant, it was hot, so we decided to try the matcha/vanilla swirl soft serve. It was good -- the vanilla helped smooth out the taste of the matcha. They have lots of other flavors, and it was busy. Shares parking with a large strip mall, and service was quick!
Enjoyed the ube matcha swirl soft Serve in a cone. Service was okay. There are tables outside to sit and enjoy. Also there are tables inside to the right of the store.

I shared it w my roommate today and we demolished it Thanks to the sweet cashier and great weather today

With tax it ended up being almost $10 which is steep BUT the ice cream swirl on top is massive so I'd say it's worth it if you share. It's inside a small food court with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, and desserts/drinks are ready almost immediately.
SHAVED ICE REVIEW You have two options. Both are matcha shaved ice with scoop of red beans, 2 pillowy soft mochi balls and a cute chestnut... but one has ice cream and the other only condensed milk. I got the one with ice cream and my God it was the most creamiest delicious vanilla soft serve! Mixing the melted ice cream w/ the matcha ice creates a refreshing drink at the end. If you're sharing this I advise you add extra mochi balls because you're going to want your own lol. read more
There's something about a delicious matcha soft serve that just closes out a meal perfectly, and Cafe Maiko nails it every single visit. Initially, the shop doesn't scream out anything other than grab-and-go, but the taste and quality go MUCH deeper. The matcha flavor is exactly where it should be: genuine, but not so intense that it overwhelms you. It's the kind of balance that's more difficult than it sounds, and they've just got it. Smooth, creamy, and clean-tasting from start to finish. Whether it's in a cup or on a cone, it is also extremely customizable, as you can add any topics you would like. And for what you're paying, the portion is generous. No complaints there. Honestly, it doesn't need much more of a pitch than that it's a really, really good matcha soft serve. Simple as that. Whether you're wrapping up dinner nearby, having grabbed a bit to eat next door, or making a dessert run, Cafe Maiko is worth the visit. The shop is also located within a plaza, so you'll find parking. There are also chairs/tables outside, so you can bask in the fresh air while enjoying your soft serve. Highly recommended! I ordered the Matcha Soft-Serve Ice Cream ($7.55). It tastes like medicine. It's bitter, watery, and not sweet. Although the matcha felt premium, its overall taste is unpleasant. At the very minimum, it makes a pretty photo. I arrived at Matcha Cafe Maiko (Rowland Heights) on Sunday (around 12:03PM - near opening time). Parking felt easy this weekend. The lot is big with many open spots. The sign says, "60 Minutes - Customer Parking Only." When I arrived, it was surprisingly crowded. Matcha Cafe Maiko (Rowland Heights) has an attractive, vibrant exterior which draws people in. Fortunately, the line vanishes quickly. Staff is professional and pleasant. Staff works very fast. My order took about 30 seconds. Very quick! As mentioned, I disliked the Matcha Soft-Serve Ice Cream ($7.55). It's like kissing a pretty partner, only to suddenly start coughing out white powder. This ice cream is grainy. It's silky, cool, and attractive; however, it tastes like chilled, bitter water. I noticed how the people surrounding me, repeatedly saying "instagram-instagram-instagram," slowly began to stop eating. Concerning ambiance, Matcha Cafe Maiko (Rowland Heights) is very small. There is no restroom, but if you peruse the other connected businesses, you might find one. Thankfully, they have a bottle of hand sanitizer. The location is also very clean, but there's no tables or seating inside. This is an order-and-leave place. The outside area has tables which are shared amongst the businesses. There's about seven outside tables. I also like how the exterior is colorful and modern, like a mini town. Overall, I had a disappointing experience at Matcha Cafe Maiko (Rowland Heights). The ambiance and service are above-average, but its ice cream tasted like regret. Hopefully, it improves. 3.2 out of 5 read more

My friend recommended this place and as soon as I pulled into the parking lot I knew it was going to be good. There's a bunch of good eats inside the Yes Plaza where the store is located. Their menu resembled something you would see in Japan. I ordered a banana cream matcha latte. Upon ordering, I asked the worker if the drink ran on the sweet side and she said yes. I asked for the sweetness to be adjusted to make it less sweet and it came out good. Paid $9.50 for a medium. A bit on the pricey side, I don't think they have the option for a size small, only medium and large. There's no seating inside but there's a few chairs and tables in the patio outside that is shared with some of the other stores in that corner. Parking is tight so be careful. read more
Stopped by on a warm day and ordered the half matcha, half ube soft serve which was the perfect treat to cool off. The swirl looked beautiful and the matcha flavor came through nicely. The ube was tasty too but it leaned a bit sweeter than I preferred. The texture was more on the icey side instead of being smooth and creamy, but it still hit the spot. Service was friendly, but definitely on the slower side during my visit. Still a refreshing treat on a hot summer day and something I'd consider ordering again if I'm in the area. read more
I wanted to give this place a try after driving by so many times. Their matcha seems pretty high quality but their prices for medium and large is way more than I was expecting for the size of their drinks. However, the actually drink is solid. Just know you are paying for quality over quantity here. The front cashier lady was pretty cool though. Very friendly. read more

If I can leave a zero star, I would. The cones were very watery and the matcha floats had no flavor with too much ice. I've heard too many times the machine was not working properly therefore the cones were watery. Stop the excuses if they want to remain in business. Fix the machine and live up to the premium matcha name. read more

You can never go wrong with Maiko! Although the ice cream & drinks are on the pricier side, it is so worth it. The drinks are delicious and flavorful, & I will also say that the taste of their matcha & hojicha is super strong, which I like! The ice cream is also really creamy and the portion that they give is huge. Service is just ok, and Maiko doesn't have a specific seating area, but there is one in the same building as well as some more seats/tables outside. Maiko is the perfect place for a sweet treat, especially if you want matcha or hojicha. read more

One of my go to dessert spots in the area. They have delicious matcha ice cream and many dessert options. Flavors for the soft serve include vanilla, matcha, ube, and mixed. I've had the maiko special parfait, soft serve, shaved ice, and their lattes. They are all delicious and for someone who usually can't finish ice cream by myself, I was probably able to eat the entire soft serve because it was just so good. Today was my first time trying their shaved ice and it was gigantic and super yummy. Me and my friend were able to finish the entire thing, just be aware that the ice cream may fall since it's stacked on top of the already huge mound of shaved ice!! (we learned the hard way haha). There's seating in the back and also outside the shop as well, and restrooms are right around the corner. Cute spot to share some dessert! 10/10 highly recommend read more

One of the best dessert shops around here. I can see why there is always a line out the door. I had the matcha latte float with matcha/ube swirl soft serve ice cream. The matcha latte was very smooth and creamy, which was complemented really well by the soft serve on top. It is clear that they use high quality and authentic matcha. The soft serve melts pretty quickly, so some of it will definitely melt into the latte before you can eat all the soft serve. With the soft serve mixed into the latte, the drink becomes even sweeter and creamier. I love that the matcha flavor is prominent and did not taste diluted at all. This is the perfect place to satisfy your sweet tooth. I am so glad that there are plenty of free parking spots in this shared lot. read more

I tried the Maiko Special with matcha and ube mixed soft serve. Premium matcha, very flavorful. Came with green tea sponge cake, coconut mochi balls, red bean, coconut jelly, Frosted Flakes. It's huge, and I only ate about 40% of it lol. Costs about $13, definitely worth trying. Shop is located in the corner of the buildings, only one worker working at the time, she was nice and quick. Seating just around the corner by the arcade area. Overall great experience would love to come back and try the latte floats. read more
This is truly top-tier matcha -- easily the best I've had in my 28 years. The flavor is rich, smooth, and just delicious. It is on the pricier side, but honestly, the quality shows. I've even driven 30 min out of my way just to get it again, and it never disappoints. My go-to is the strawberry matcha. Just a tip: ask them to go light on the strawberry so the flavors stay balanced. The first time was perfect, but the second time it was a bit overpowering so just mention it when ordering. When they get it right, it's amazing. The shop itself is very small, more of a grab-and-go spot. There is some outdoor seating, but not much room to sit and really hang out depending on how busy it is. Still, for the matcha alone, it's worth the stop. Overall, quality is top notch, the flavor is unmatched, and it's become my number one matcha spot. Just be prepared for the price but you truly get what you pay for. read more
I loved the ambiance of where this cafe was located. Especially at night when all the lights outside turn on. Looks like a small little village inside a busy plaza. This place is small so as it got quite busy, there was little room to stand and wait. Luckily we didn't wait long. I got the soft serve mix (ube/matcha) and it was very good. The matcha is a little overpowering so I can taste only the slightest flavor of ube but I still enjoyed it. There are tables outside and a sitting area at the end of all the restaurants. It goes all the way to the bottom of the cup and then melts to become a drink. Better as ice cream though! It's hard to find a place with high quality matcha, but Matcha Cafe Maiko has your back! They source their matcha straight from Japan and you can tell the quality is there. However, it is a bit on the pricey side so I come here only every once in a while. A great pick-me-up for work after my lunch! Have not tried their matcha soft serve yet, but planning to eventually. read more

They opened their first store in Hawaii, and all of their products are imported from Uji, Japan. It's my favorite Matcha cafe. Their matcha is the best. It was a perfect day to have ice cream because it was so hot. We got 3 soft-serve ice cream (2 Mix flavors with Vanilla & Matcha) and I got the Matcha soft-serve. ($7.25 each x 3) We all chose the soft serve with a crispy cone. They were a bit pricey, but we had a good amount of ice cream, and they tasted so good. My Matcha soft serve was not too bitter, and I could taste the rich matcha flavor. Delicious! read more
Cafe Maiko is a small counter in a shared hallway in Yes Plaza. There's always a line, but it seems to move relatively quickly. I got the Matcha Cream, which is their Matcha Latte with whipped cream, and the Strawberry Matcha Latte. Drinks were very matcha forward, but definitely on the sweet side. I ended up cutting my matcha cream with more ice and water when I got home, as it was a bit too warm and sweet for my liking when I received it. Might just be me, but the strawberry tasted slightly artificial, like a hybrid of real strawberry pureé and strawberry flavored syrup. read more
