Horrendous plaza, just letting you know. I always preface my reviews for ANY business in this plaza that it's an absolute PvP zone. With so many eateries in such a small place, everyone is fighting for spots and the parking can get quite tight and cars that aren't the most compact are parking in those spots. People are driving like maniacs so keep that in mind. Afters is always just an alright chain to me. I remember for the longest time, it was Rick and Morty forever, but that might have just been a fever dream since they've definitely had collaborations other than that (the Avatar live action on Netflix too and I think currently BT21 for the Army out there). Despite being in a super busy plaza, this location itself isn't super busy and the workers were friendly and I was able to get my order pretty quickly. Ambiance is very casual and trendy. They have ice cream bars, merch for sale, and ice cream by the pint as well. I've gotten the cookie monster, dark matter brownie batter (I feel like this is a remnant of Rick and Morty but I'm not too sure, don't quote me on that), milk and cereal, and the Saigon coffee. There are times when the ice cream is really dense and the flavor is strong, texture is creamy and it's a solid ice cream (usually for the coffee and the brownie batter), but there are other times where the ice cream is too icy (like water iced over on it and it's like an ice cream that was melted and reformed again). This is a mixed bag I get with other flavors. For the stress it takes to even get into this plaza, it's not worth it considering there are other dessert options nearby. read more

So I tried 3 samplers, the jasmine tea, the Dubai chocolate and strawberry matcha... Jasmine milk tea flavor was too floral for my liking and the Dubai one didn't have the crunch I was looking for... This is my first time coming here and as I walked inside, the room felt so sleek but colorful, and a neon bright aurora draws you into a contrast of the freezer counter full of whimsically named flavors of ice cream. Luckily no line was forming behind us when we got in and as we started lining up I took a quick glance at their own merchandise particularly if they still had their hilarious puns on shirts. The flavors were a variety of familiar and unexpectedly surprising combinations for ice cream such as milk and cookies or milk and cereal. I was able to ask to try some of the intriguing flavors such as: 1. Milk and cereal which tasted exactly how they described, the milk after eating a bowl of Frosted Flakes (my gosh good times). 2. Ube brownie: I didn't get any ube with the tasted and got more brownie so I thought it was a smooth ube ice cream with brownie chunks. 3. Dark matter brownie: super fudgey and thick brownie ice cream with chunks of brownies, it was so creamy and coats your mouth. I really wanted chocolate flavors and couldn't decide on the two brownie ones so we got both in one bowl to share, the ube on the bottom and the brownie ones the top. We asked to get two scoops in a cup to share rather than one cup each. As we walked to the register I saw BTS' bt21 merchandises and they had pins and keychains of the bt21 characters and ice cream related poses. When we got our scoops it was in a slightly wider bowl than a single scoop cup, so our ice cream looked flat but there's actually a lot of ice cream. I tried a little of: 3. Matcha berry crunch had chunks which chewing them made it like your chewing strawberry and cream which I liked since the matcha flavor was also strong, complimenting each other. 4. Strawberry cookie crunch which my taste didn't have any cookies but was still very smooth and creamy. The brownie ice cream was so thick and creamy, every bite was so indulgently good, so satisfyingly filling, a bit regretting the second scoop, but also curious when you get to finish and start the ube one. As we finished the brownie the ube started to surface and yes I ate some ube chunks to my surprise, I thought it was smooth but being wrong this time isn't bad. Since there were also brownie chunks each bite gets me so confused as if I knew it tasted like ube but what if it's brownie soaked with so much ube flavor that it tasted like ube chunk?? I have only been to 2 Afters locations, but I have to say that I know I love their ice cream. A long time ago, they were one of the first shops in the area to have more fun and unique flavors. To this day, their quality is still pretty consistent in terms of taste and service. I personally enjoy how thick their ice cream is. Their ice cream is thick, but not chewy. Their flavors are all rich and I have never had issues with watery/icy bits in my ice cream here. I have been to afters a handful of times and every time is a different experience with different flavors. Tonight was kind of a let down though. Service was good, ambiance was normal and upbeat, but the ice cream flavors were not it! My favorites are usually the Cookie Butter and Churro, they had neither (cry me a river, I know!!) It was a nice treat to enjoy an ice cream after playing a few hours of pickleball. Went with some friends a little while ago and I'm always impressed by the flavors they have. Service was solid and offered us samples like always. It's a relatively small shop, so it's generally grab and eat outside to talk or grab and walk around with it in hand, but I kinda of like not having to sit down while eating my ice cream if I'm able to just walk around or anything like that. The cashier was welcoming and offered great service he also answered all of my questions swiftly! The store was very clean and organized, there was no line so it felt even comfier! She put them separate because the I said yes to the chamoy and tajin on the mango sorbet and then charged me seperate as in each a single scoop. Second time which is today, I ordered pick up triple scoop for mango sorbet and when I asked for the chamoy and tajin, she said it had to be in the instructions, I already looked there and looked again and couldn't find an "add something" and the special instructions was locked. Came in Sunday November 16th at 11pm about a hour before closing to 5 staff members all sitting on the counter tops doing nothing but texting. Ordered 1 milkshake and the worker who was young blonde Caucasian girl with bangs and glasses looked at me for a solid 10 seconds with an irritated look before she started making the shake. When shake was done she didn't even tell me it was ready she just very aggressively placed the shake down on countertop and I proceeded to say thank you and doesn't say anything but walks away with attitude. Very disappointed with the customer service and the staff was extremely rude and lazy. Seems like based on other reviews other customers are having the same experience with the Sunday night crew because the pictures of the girl that was caught texting doing nothing was doing the same thing tonight. This location has a poor customer service! I was next in line when the servers stopped serving and decided to do other things. I understand if they have other important things to do BUT at least acknowledge my presence. I was standing right in front of the two servers chatting, then turned their back went to the kitchen-I think?! Neither of them even bother to say hi, say I will be with you in a moment or at least look at me in the eye as a recognition or awareness. They just left me waiting. The place wasn't busy. You place get your ice cream first and then pay at the register. $5 for one scoop, with a 50 cent half flavor charge. Credit cards are accepted. There's no indoor dining and there aren't any chairs outside available. There is an awning if you'd like to stand outside, but since it was raining, we just ate ice cream in a car.
