Cookie Monster & Saigon Coffee
Kwang C.

Got a Single Scoop, Half & Half. Cookie Monster with Oreo was good, but the Saigon Coffee really stood out. (Both are insanely sweet though!) 點了份單球雙拼。帶有 Oreo 的餅乾怪獸表現不錯,但濃醇的西貢咖啡更深得我心(但都甜度爆表)。

The ice cream here is thiccccc. Jasmine milk tea is good but it is caffeinated so beware if you're caffeine sensitive. The new matcha berry ice cream is excellent. Mango sorbet is refreshing. They offer samples so definitely try before ordering.

This is my first time coming here and as I walked inside, the room felt so sleek but colorful, and a neon bright aurora draws you into a contrast of the freezer counter full of whimsically named flavors of ice cream. Luckily no line was forming behind us when we got in and as we started lining up I took a quick glance at their own merchandise particularly if they still had their hilarious puns on shirts. The flavors were a variety of familiar and unexpectedly surprising combinations for ice cream such as milk and cookies or milk and cereal. I was able to ask to try some of the intriguing flavors such as: 1. Milk and cereal which tasted exactly how they described, the milk after eating a bowl of Frosted Flakes (my gosh good times). 2. Ube brownie: I didn't get any ube with the tasted and got more brownie so I thought it was a smooth ube ice cream with brownie chunks. 3. Dark matter brownie: super fudgey and thick brownie ice cream with chunks of brownies, it was so creamy and coats your mouth. I really wanted chocolate flavors and couldn't decide on the two brownie ones so we got both in one bowl to share, the ube on the bottom and the brownie ones the top. We asked to get two scoops in a cup to share rather than one cup each. As we walked to the register I saw BTS' bt21 merchandises and they had pins and keychains of the bt21 characters and ice cream related poses. When we got our scoops it was in a slightly wider bowl than a single scoop cup, so our ice cream looked flat but there's actually a lot of ice cream. I tried a little of: 3. Matcha berry crunch had chunks which chewing them made it like your chewing strawberry and cream which I liked since the matcha flavor was also strong, complimenting each other. 4. Strawberry cookie crunch which my taste didn't have any cookies but was still very smooth and creamy. The brownie ice cream was so thick and creamy, every bite was so indulgently good, so satisfyingly filling, a bit regretting the second scoop, but also curious when you get to finish and start the ube one. As we finished the brownie the ube started to surface and yes I ate some ube chunks to my surprise, I thought it was smooth but being wrong this time isn't bad. Since there were also brownie chunks each bite gets me so confused as if I knew it tasted like ube but what if it's brownie soaked with so much ube flavor that it tasted like ube chunk?? By the time I decided that there might have been actual ube chunks in it we finished the cup. Overall such an indulgent and satisfying way to end dinner.

I have only been to 2 Afters locations, but I have to say that I know I love their ice cream. A long time ago, they were one of the first shops in the area to have more fun and unique flavors. To this day, their quality is still pretty consistent in terms of taste and service. I personally enjoy how thick their ice cream is. Their ice cream is thick, but not chewy. Their flavors are all rich and I have never had issues with watery/icy bits in my ice cream here. I personally love their classic jasmine milk tea flavor and the killer brownie is a new favorite.

Afters, Afters, Afters..... Came here to get a sweet treat on a warm night. Naturally it was busy, which most Ice Cream places are when it's warm. I have been to afters a handful of times and every time is a different experience with different flavors. Tonight was kind of a let down though. Service was good, ambiance was normal and upbeat, but the ice cream flavors were not it! My favorites are usually the Cookie Butter and Churro, they had neither (cry me a river, I know!!) LoL So I settled for milk and cereal w/ a cap'n crunch mix in, it was "ok" no where near my favorites, but I dealt with it. I usually love Afters, but 3 stars tonight due to lack of flavors.

Afters is always so yummy, the unique flavors are definitely my favorite-there's really nothing like it. The cashier was welcoming and offered great service he also answered all of my questions swiftly! The store was very clean and organized, there was no line so it felt even comfier! That said, I ordered the salted Oreo, and brownie batter, they were both delicious! The Salted Oreo had a great mix of sweet and salty, and the crispy waffle cone topped it off. Every bite was a burst of flavor, super yummy, and definitely worth the trip. These flavors were a first for me but absolutely amazing--. Such fun flavors to try, if you have a sweet tooth you have to stop by Afters!

AFTER KOREAN BBQ, WE WANTED DESSERT. THEY RAN OUT OF WAFFLE CONES AND THE REGULAR ONE WAS STALE I am a cookie girly, not an ice cream one- however, I figured I'd give it a whirl. All around, I will not come back. It was expensive, stale, and very "MID". Isn't that how the kids say it? Haha. ICE CREAM: 3/5 I really loved the cookie butter, it had a good taste. It was creamy, not overly sweet and decent. One scoop is rather small, but more than enough for me (again, I'm not a huge ice cream fan) Price: 1/5 We paid $16.00 for two ice creams. In my honest opinion, it was not worth it. My nephew who's a teen and not picky, loved his. So, he begs to differ lol All around: 1/5 My cone was hard as a rock, the staff was weird, and the price was off. I won't be coming back, but I will admit the cookie butter was decent tasting!

Milk and cereal ice cream with Cinnamon Toast Crunch and ube brownie

I got the single scoop of the milk and cereal ice cream, which comes with a free cereal topping. The milk and cereal flavor is pretty spot on, it tastes exactly like Frosted Flakes in milk. My friend got the ube brownie, which honestly was really amazing. The ube flavor wasn't too overwhelming and I really liked the unexpected combo with the brownie. They have a lot of fun ice cream flavors, be sure to sample them all!

Single Scoop - 1/2 Saigon Coffee & 1/2 Cookie Monster
Michelle N.

I knew Afters wouldn't let me down no matter the location and I'm glad I wasn't proven wrong! I was glad to find out that I can get a Single Scoop and do a half scoop of the ones I wanted since I'm always stuck on the same 2 and don't usually finish my double scoops! I got my go to: Single Scoop - 1/2 Saigon Coffee & 1/2 Cookie Monster. The combination of the coffee and the creaminess of the cookie monster is what makes this so good. If you're not crazy about sweets, give this combo a try and fall in love with ice cream again!

OPEN LATE! GREAT FOR DATE NIGHT! nothing can separate me and their milk & sugar cookies for too long. not even when it's freezing outside during winter! I GOTTA HAVE IT!! as per usual the team members were so sweet and patient. letting us try all the samples we wanted and packing our ice cream exactly as we liked. we were in and out quite fast and felt like superstars through out the visit. thank you to the night team for treating us like royalty!! also shoutout to whoever was on aux!! as soon as we walked in it was a good time:) yes! i definitely recommend as a late night treat, nice second course or date night!

Ice cream is FULL of unnecessary dyes. Mint ice cream is BRIGHT green. Brownie ice cream was BLACK. Why? My mouth & teeth were black. Ice cream taste was 4/10.

Ice cream is average. Price is expensive. Boring small shop with no place to sit. Located in a busy strip mall.

Their Products are imported directly from (Harima Garden) in Uji, Kyoto, a family-owned tea estate operating since 1858. I am obsessed at this place I first tried it in Vegas and it was soo good! This one I located in Rowland Heights and they have soo many options to choose from shaved ice, latte, parfait, ice cream and all my favorite flavors are here matcha,Ube, hojicha and more! The quality is 10/10 not too sweet, very creamy and soo delicious. Ambiance is casual mostly to go, but there's plenty of seating outside in a cute little plaza. The service is amazing, the server greeted me nicely recommended me the best one! She even showed me that their matcha is authentic and from Japan! Loved the ambiance as well, there was very cute decor and wall art and place was very clean! Overall, it was a really enjoyable treat, and I'd definitely go back for it again.

I took my mom here for a Mother's Day brunch and my birthday celebration because it falls around…read morethe same time every year. I am so glad we chose Hide Out Cafe in Rowland Heights to have our celebration. The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the cafe is so cozy and welcoming. My brother was sponsoring our meal since he couldn't make it, so of course we had to go all out and order two drinks and two main dishes. (Thank you, big brother)! I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Overall, my mom and I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for another sip of their lattes and try another fun drink on their menu. We left with happy smiles and full stomachs, and can't wait to come back soon.

It's a brown sugar milk tea with caramel foam with a floating frozen milk tea bear. ADORABLE!! The set even includes two house-made cookies. WOW! TASTY!! (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment.) I arrived at Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) on Wednesday (around 10:21AM). Parking is very easy. The lot is big. However, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is very hidden. It has no visibility from the street! Staff is very professional and welcoming. Staff politely and cheerfully answered all my questions. Staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. For example, the location does not have a paper menu; all the menus are accessed via QR Code. Fortunately, Staff let me borrow their iPad which allowed me to see the menu on a larger screen. When I'd arrived, Staff asked if I was dine-in or to-go. I was immediately seated. When I'd inquired about the boba. Staff honestly told me that they needed 15 additional minutes to prepare the boba. I brightly waited. All in all, after the 15 minute wait, the drink took an additional 10 minutes before being ready. As mentioned, I ordered the Boba Bear Set ($8.50). CUTE!!! It's a very aesthetic and memorable presentation. The boba pearls came perfect; they're bouncy, perky, and playful. The brown sugar milk tea mixed with the caramel foam tasted honey-like. It's very TASTY! My biggest nitpick is that the amount felt tiny. Still, it's a wonderful memory that I'm so happy to experience! On ambiance, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is comfortable and clean. There's about 13 interior tables, and there's six patio tables. The music is slow-tempo, and the tall ceiling made it feel spacious. In addition, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) has utility. There's customer internet with password; details are available on the QR code menu. There's also about four electrical outlets. I also appreciated the self-service water station. There's also a gender neutral restroom in the back. Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) felt very hidden yet well-maintained. It's a lovely spot. Overall, I had a magical, memorable experience. I discovered AMAZING milk tea and many precious memories. If searching for someplace special, I happily recommend. 4.9 out of 5

There was an unusually long line around 8:30 PM, but we waited anyway. By the time we ordered, the kitchen was closed, so no fries, my kids were pretty disappointed. We ended up just getting boba drinks, but unfortunately the boba pearls were severely undercooked and extremely hard. It made the drinks unpleasant to drink, and I ended up throwing mine away because the boba is the whole point of milk tea. What made it more frustrating is that your phone line doesn't even work, so there's no way to call and let management know directly. The only way to bring attention to the issue is by leaving a review. I understand busy nights happen, but if the drinks can't be made consistently or the boba isn't ready, it's probably better not to serve them at all. At the very least let the customer know that the boba is not ready or no bobas available.
