Love this place! So delicious and made with so much care. The workers here are very friendly and nice. Cute decor and vibes as well.

Chocolate Coffee Bun with Korean Coffee

Sobok Sobok is a great find in the area. I was looking for a quick breakfast spot and they had a coffee bun with coffee combo. For the price point, it was a good deal! The base of the coffee bun is fluffy and pillowy, making it wonderfully soft to bite into. I got the chocolate flavor and it had that subtle sweetness with a hint of buttery richness. As for the appearance, this is where I think it could have been more visually appealing. It comes in a white paper bag but because the coffee bun is warm, the chocolate chips melted into the paper already! Guess it can't be helped! I was very happy at how warm the coffee bun was on this cold day, complementing the Korean coffee I was drinking with it. As for ambiance, the place had a nice warm glow to it, a perfect place to start your morning or enjoy some time with friends. There were plenty of tables and chairs. I did not get to check for plugs or WiFi but this could be a good candidate as a study spot!

Came here for the Injeolmi red bean bingsoo, but the aroma of fresh baked bread was too heavenly to pass up. The cashier was patient while taking our orders. When we got our order, the injeolmi red bean bingsoo was very good. Red bean was not overly sweet. There were a few tables and chairs, as well as counter type seating for dine in. This place is a better choice than S&B, the wait was minimal and parking was readily available.

Cute Korean place for sweet snacks. We got the shaved ice, whipped ice cream and the Korean buns. How can you go wrong with matcha and dole whip soft serve? It's always a 10 unless something went terrible wrong in the universe. The strawberry shaved ice was taste but way too big for just 2 people to share. The buns remind me of those Chinese pineapple buns you get at a bakery or dim sum. I quite enjoyed all the flavors aside from the original flavor, that one was junk to me. It was savory not in the best way possible. Would I make the 40 min drive again? Idk

Always included in my list whenever we're in the area. A good start of the day or for dessert. Brought a friend here for the first time and very satisfied with the coffee bun and coffee. Spacious parking , friendly staff. Good food , though the mini buns are always out whenever we visit, hopefully next visit we're able to grab one box. Looking forward to bring more friends in the area.

Wish there were more locations. Freshly baked, fluffy, tender coffee buns with just the right amount of sweetness to go with your coffee. By coffee, I mean coffee that you recognize without the names you can't pronounce that are loaded with a ton of sugar like most of the drinks at Starbucks. The best way to describe a coffee bun is like a cross between a Mexican concha and Kings Hawaiian bread. They also offered various flavors of the shell topping with a freshly whipped buttercream inside! I just had the standard house coffee black. Excellent quality coffee bean without the overly roasted bitterness. Smooth and easy. The storefront, dining area and restroom are impeccably clean. Friendly service with a smile. A+++

Located in a big plaza next to an in-and-out Burger. I did not have issue finding a space to park at 11am. The shop has see thru glass which you can see these coffee buns made. I ordered a set of gift with all 5 flavors of coffee buns. I tried 3 of them myself. They are all delicious. Slightly crunchy outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Some flavors could be a bit overly sweet. They are priced fairly, like most bakeries around town. Service was ok, nothing much to comment. They offer touchless payment method thats linked to the phone. Overall, it is good. Probably a good option for office in the morning. Its gets a 4.4 out of 5

Cute little Asian dessert place. I took my family to try their shaved ice. We got the matcha redbean, strawberry, mango and redbean shaved ice bowls. My recommended flavor was the mango. The mochi on them was a bit too hard for me. Coffee bun was light and delicious.

I love their watermelon Bingsoo! But the service sucks. The lady was not friendly. So it made the experience not so great. Maybe I'll just take it to go next time. Hahaha

This café surprised me in the best way. Their coffee bun bread is on another level--soft, warm, and perfectly fluffy, the kind of bun that melts into your coffee and makes the whole experience feel luxurious. The owner even mentioned that customers come all the way from the East Coast and other states just to enjoy these buns, and honestly... I get it. I also tried the pineapple soft ice cream, which was refreshing, light, and a perfect balance to the warm pastry. The whole place has a cozy, inviting atmosphere, and the service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. If you're looking for a café that delivers comfort, great flavors, and a memorable experience, this spot is absolutely worth the trip.

    Angela N.

Their original coffee bun is sooo good! Freshly baked, no caffeine, or preservatives. They offer six different bun flavors: Original, Chocolate Chip, Cinnamon, Walnut, Almond, and Yogurt Chip. Original is hands down the best! This place gets very busy so go early if you can. We went around 2pm on a Saturday and they were almost out of a few flavors. They also offer drinks, ice cream, and various flavors of bing soo. I tried their iced Korean Style Coffee. It was okay... nothing special. I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

So glad I got to visit Sobok Sobok. It's located in a plaza so parking wasn't an issue. When we walked in there was no crowd or line so we got to order right away. But after a few minutes there was a line forming and the place got crowded. I ordered the box of 6 and got chocolate chip, almond, walnut and cinnamon. I want to say chocolate chip and cinnamon were my fave and it was so delicious I'm having cravings. I also ordered the cold brew float which was also very good!!! I'm definitely coming back! I would recommend!

Delicious coffee buns with a variety of flavors! Perfect for holiday gifts or enjoying yourself A great choice for afternoon tea. The mango shaved ice is also very sweet and super fresh -- highly recommended!

Horrendous plaza, just letting you know. I always preface my reviews for ANY business in this plaza…read morethat it's an absolute PvP zone. With so many eateries in such a small place, everyone is fighting for spots and the parking can get quite tight and cars that aren't the most compact are parking in those spots. People are driving like maniacs so keep that in mind. Afters is always just an alright chain to me. I remember for the longest time, it was Rick and Morty forever, but that might have just been a fever dream since they've definitely had collaborations other than that (the Avatar live action on Netflix too and I think currently BT21 for the Army out there). Despite being in a super busy plaza, this location itself isn't super busy and the workers were friendly and I was able to get my order pretty quickly. Ambiance is very casual and trendy. They have ice cream bars, merch for sale, and ice cream by the pint as well. I've gotten the cookie monster, dark matter brownie batter (I feel like this is a remnant of Rick and Morty but I'm not too sure, don't quote me on that), milk and cereal, and the Saigon coffee. There are times when the ice cream is really dense and the flavor is strong, texture is creamy and it's a solid ice cream (usually for the coffee and the brownie batter), but there are other times where the ice cream is too icy (like water iced over on it and it's like an ice cream that was melted and reformed again). This is a mixed bag I get with other flavors. For the stress it takes to even get into this plaza, it's not worth it considering there are other dessert options nearby.

I am so glad we chose Hide Out Cafe in Rowland Heights to have our celebration. The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the cafe is so cozy and welcoming. My brother was sponsoring our meal since he couldn't make it, so of course we had to go all out and order two drinks and two main dishes. (Thank you, big brother)! I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Overall, my mom and I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for another sip of their lattes and try another fun drink on their menu. We left with happy smiles and full stomachs, and can't wait to come back soon.

However, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is very hidden. It has no visibility from the street! Staff is very professional and welcoming. Staff politely and cheerfully answered all my questions. Staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. For example, the location does not have a paper menu; all the menus are accessed via QR Code. Fortunately, Staff let me borrow their iPad which allowed me to see the menu on a larger screen. When I'd arrived, Staff asked if I was dine-in or to-go. I was immediately seated. When I'd inquired about the boba. Staff honestly told me that they needed 15 additional minutes to prepare the boba. I brightly waited. All in all, after the 15 minute wait, the drink took an additional 10 minutes before being ready. As mentioned, I ordered the Boba Bear Set ($8.50). CUTE!!! It's a very aesthetic and memorable presentation. The boba pearls came perfect; they're bouncy, perky, and playful. The brown sugar milk tea mixed with the caramel foam tasted honey-like. It's very TASTY! My biggest nitpick is that the amount felt tiny. Still, it's a wonderful memory that I'm so happy to experience! On ambiance, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is comfortable and clean. There's about 13 interior tables, and there's six patio tables. The music is slow-tempo, and the tall ceiling made it feel spacious. In addition, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) has utility. There's customer internet with password; details are available on the QR code menu. There's also about four electrical outlets. I also appreciated the self-service water station. There's also a gender neutral restroom in the back. Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) felt very hidden yet well-maintained. It's a lovely spot. Overall, I had a magical, memorable experience. I discovered AMAZING milk tea and many precious memories. If searching for someplace special, I happily recommend. 4.9 out of 5
