Haven't been here since it was a Ding Tea. I was desperate for a matcha einspanner, but not enough to drive down to my usual place in Westminster. After reading the reviews, I thought I'd take the risk and give Teatopia a chance and I am so glad I did. We ordered at the kiosk, but failed to notice a posted sign that said they were out of green grape, which is one of the things we ordered. When only one drink came out, the super sweet girl behind the counter offered to make any drink from the menu for us -- regardless of value. MATCHA EINSPANNER: 4/5. Truly surprised by how good this was. Matcha forward, super creamy. 100% sweetness was just right to me. I just found my local spot for when I don't feel like making the trip to GG or Westminster. LYCHEE TEA: 4/5. 100% sweetness here was a little too sweet for me, but my partner loved it. The flavor of the tea itself was delicious. read more

Yikes. I was in the area shopping and getting errands done. I had a 25 minute ride back home so I decided to get something refreshing from here first. It was a Saturday evening about an hour before they closed. When I walked in there was a couple in front of me and it appeared they had issues ordering from the kiosk. The one worker who was there that night came out with the most unfriendly face and vibe. Even though she wasn't serving me yet she even made me feel uncomfortable and that's hard to do. Lmao. After we all ordered our drinks, we could not help but talk about how grumpy she looked. I gave the benefit of the doubt knowing it sucks to work alone on a Saturday or maybe she's tired but the strangers i was talking with said everytime they come here she's always unfriendly. The one star reviews on here confirm that. I kid you not I was looking for the manager to share this concern with because it was that bad. There was no one else in sight. I didn't feel like confronting anyone that night, but if they read their yelp reviews please consider providing customer service training to your employees. With so many boba shops opened now in brea including the 3-4 spots in brea mall alone, good drinks and good service will keep your business alive. 2 stars for my pineapple Green tea. It was decent but the ice level sucked. Very little ice was given and the ice they used melted super fast. read more

It's pretty good, when I got the lavender matcha there were like lavender stems in it... kinda interesting. Still pretty good though! I got the biscoff matcha and it's yummy, just wish it was a little bit more strong because they do advertise high quality ceremonial grade matcha. I would recommend this place because service is good and they do have a decent amount of options. It's a small place but it is nice and cozy, not too crowded so no complaints! Try it. read more

Came across this gem through a Yelp buddy's review. Doug, if you see this, thank you, haha! I've been hitting up Brea once a month for an errand, and I always scout for a coffee spot afterward. Somehow, this spot never came up even though they have coffee. I got the Biscoff Crunch Matcha and felt like coffee too, so I ordered the coconut coffee. The Biscoff matcha was a new flavor combo for me, and I liked it so much I finished the whole thing on my drive home. The coconut coffee was solid too (only took a few sips) but I just couldn't get enough of the match. Just a note... Yelp showed it closing soon (11:00 AM) when I arrived, 8 minutes before 11, but the hours on the door said otherwise. The girl was already scrubbing the counters in the back when I walked in. I LOVE the matcha drinks here. Prices are fair and quality is great. U have ur choice of any milk and an extra gram of matcha at no extra cost. I LOVVVEEEEE the banana cream matcha. It has chunks of banana in it and some toffee bits. Perfect flavor palate. I love that the banana doesn't taste overly ripe. It's just perfect. I've been addicted and coming here 5 days in a row lol my daughter tried the coconut matcha and the strawberry matcha and she loved them. I didn't really taste much coconut in her coconut matcha honestly. The strawberry matcha had the perfect strawberry taste. They do a good job of the fruit matchas tasting fresh :). I have gotten it DoorDashed and I have also gone in store and the quality was great both ways. It's a cute small spot displaying art specific to OC, and has a few tables inside playing jams quietly in the background. Tried their matcha einspanner and added on the "1 extra gram of matcha" for $0.75. The einspanner top was sweet and delicious and mixed well with the rest of the matcha, especially since I added the extra gram which I feel like made it ever so slightly additionally "bitter" or more matcha-y so they balanced out! It was hard not to continuously drink it during the 30 mi drive home!! My drink came out fairly quickly and I was the only one in the store at the moment. Love the artwork on the wall! The area is also clean and a couple of tables and chairs to hang out. read more

I have been coming here for years, and I almost always order my same kumquat lemon green tea. I saw on their Instagram account that they have a few new drinks that looked interesting. They were offering a great promotion on the new drinks, so I thought I'd stop by and give them a try. Green Grape Smash Tea - (Ordered 50% sweet, 25% ice, with boba, $5.95 base price, boba $0.85 extra) The drink has a nice tartness, and at 50% sweetness, it is just right. I think any higher than 50% sweet would be too much and would overpower the tartness. I love the smashed grapes at the bottom, definitely a unique "topping". I eat my grapes like my boba, I munch on them once at a time for a little bit. The grapes were very fresh and the mash was crisp, with a mix of smaller and bigger pieces. They add to the refreshing aspect of this drink. Mango Coco Sago - (Ordered 50% sweet, no toppings, $7.50). My first few sips were definitely interesting as I tried to analyze the flavors. The slush had a nice texture. I definitely tasted the coconut milk, which also has a nutty component to it, perhaps from the sago. This is the first time I've had sago pearls which are like tiny boba with a softer texture, and there are a lot of them. The mango flavor is there, but more in the background for me. The mango puree at the bottom was very fresh and flavorful. This is a richer drink, and a slow sipper for me unlike flavored teas that I have to stop myself from drinking too fast. They have wintermelon, my fav boba tea flavor because it tastes a lot like milk tea but without the caffeine. And they make it perfectly here. When we first got the boba the boba was hot which eventually cooled in the iced drink but tasted weird that you're drinking really hot boba with cold tea. I would wait for everything to cool. Maybe it's ok when the weather is cooler but when it's 90 degrees outside and you just bought a cold drink to cool down, it's a downside. Very glad good boba place is open so near me. Parking: busy lot because it is right next to Trader Joe's. Everyone is going there instead. free parking at least. Service: self-serve kiosk in the front. staff is friendly and fast. Food: the coffee drinks are hard to customize. I wonder if you can ask the staff to change some things such as light ice otherwise all other drinks are pretty customizable. read more

My coworker and I come here all the time, as we work down the street. I get the taro and Thai tea with a side of popcorn chicken with medium spice level. Prices are on the regular high price. Around $8 for a one size drink with 1 topping. Small little shop with seats for up to 8 people. The egg pudding is great! And will continue to come here with my coworkers when we dig boba tea. I had posted a video on TikTok about my recent cafe visits and Teatopia commented on my video to stop by so I said "Say less!" The space was small and cozy and the workers were nice. They were helpful at providing recommendations for me after I was debating on getting the banana cream matcha latte or the double matcha. I was surprised at how good my banana cream matcha latte was! Decent new tea spot in the Trader Joe's/Protein Lab complex! Staff was kind and offered quick service. Cool Orange County themed mural inside too! Ordered the banana cream matcha latte. Not bad! I wasn't expecting the nut topping, but the cream did have a good banana taste and the drink did taste like matcha. One of my favorite matchas in OC! I get the matcha einspanner with oat milk full sweetness. The drink has a strong matcha flavor, green color, and creamy consistency. The cream also compliments the drink well. My drink is always consistently good with friendly service. There was one instance where they forget the sweetener in my drink but they remade it for me. The inside has a few tables and chairs. The store itself is small so it's good for a quick grab and go or chat with friends. I would not recommend studying here. Overall, I love the matcha here! Great spot for matcha! When I don't feel like making my own, this is where I'd go. They use a generous amount of unsweetened matcha powder (they even offer 1 FREE gram of matcha), so the drink comes out bold, smooth, and well-balanced, not grainy! For sweetener, they use agave so that pairs well too. I'd recommend ordering with less ice, to avoid dilution. This may be my new favorite matcha spot! The banana matcha latte with oat milk was absolutely delicious. You could really tell the banana topping was fresh and the matcha was high quality. It's one of those drinks you want to keep sipping, even while trying to take it slow to savor the flavor. Teatopia is located in a busy shopping center, but there was still plenty of parking. The menu has so many options, I'd love to try them all! The flavors are good and you can adjust your sweetness or add toppings and there's a lot to choose from which is always great. There is an order screen or you can order with a staff member. Our matcha lattes were tasty, unfortunately they were out of banana cream which is what we originally came there for. I would recommend playing music to add to the environment. They were short staffed the day we went, which resulted in drinks taking a little longer to make but they were fresh and I will definitely come back another time to try more. :) read more

I'd say it's better suited as a grab-and-go kind of spot. I liked that they have a self-order kiosk, so you don't feel rushed while deciding what to get. My friend really appreciated that they offer milk alternatives and even a free scoop of matcha to make drinks stronger, especially considering how pricey matcha powder is these days. Tried their banana cream matcha for the first time. The cream was super good and it had the right amount of sweetness with the banana flavor. The 3 star is due to that it was way too small considering that it was almost $9 and they put too much ice in it. I finished the whole thing under 5 minutes. read more

I was lured in by their $4 matcha einspanner deal and I think their trap worked and I will be a regular here. There's FREE milk substitutes and the menu is so big there's something for everyone. I even see a kid's menu with smaller portions and hot food items. There's maybe 3 tables in there so a small group could come to study. The person who took my order was so nice and knowledgeable about the menu, and turns out he was the owner working the front. He was telling me that their banana cream match is actually the most popular drink, so I'll have to try it next time. Green Thai Tea was my favorite of the two. Never had green thai tea but will be back again to get this. Also 50% sweet was just right. Boba was fresh. Ice level was also perfect. drinks were okay and service was slow. they have a large sign stating buy 2 drinks get 1 free with *matcha menu excluded from FREE ITEM* which is understandable since matcha is expensive, but when i went in to order a matcha einspanner and a hokkaido to claim that third free drink (we were getting taro for the freebie), i was told i couldn't get the free drink because the matcha because it was excluded entirely from the offer? i don't really understand that, what difference would it make if im paying for the matcha? you're saying if i want to pay more (buying 2 matchas at $8 each) to claim a free cheaper drink, i cant do that? it's like being told hey you don't get a freebie with this $8 drink you're paying for, you have to buy this $7 drink instead to get the free one. idk i dont really get the mentality with that. not sure if the wording is off on the advert or if the cashier ella had the wrong idea here? i ended opting for their mango sago instead of the matcha which ended up being the best of our 3 drinks. the taro and hokkaido tasted a bit watered down and the hokkaido had more of a coffee undertone than anything. don't think we'd come back. read more
