Japanese inspired small coffee shop with really great matcha. My matcha came out in 2 minutes and tastes very authentically.
so obsessed with the nutty cloud! It's a latte with peanut foam. Better than the one at commence in my opinion. The drink also isn't sweetened with any syrup or anything so all the sweetness comes from the peanut foam (already pretty sweet enough) The coffee here is pretty strong but not too acidic nor bitter. The cortado was suuper strong. The place is also so cute and staff are friendly. Definitely want to come back soon!
I have visited this place twice now and ordered the same drink twice because it's that good. I get a Mont Blanc which is a cold brew w a sweet foam/macadamia notes/orange zest and it's one of the best cold brews I've ever had. I typically don't love cold brews bc some places make it bitter or not to my liking- but this spot has a very smooth and tasty cold brew. The orange zest I think is what makes it unique and delicious. My husband has tried the orange bianco and he also said it was one of the best espresso w the cream he's ever had. He tried the matcha today and it had a strong matcha flavor. Brea is over 20 min from us so whenever we're in the area- we will return here. Inside is pretty small, there's just some small tables and long bench like chairs. Only downside I would say is that the parking is super limited. A lot of the spots say it's for the tire shop or the shipping shop. I also think their menu is a little confusing bc many of the drinks don't have descriptions so the line can take a little longer bc I can hear everyone asking what certain drinks are. But the staff is super kind as far as explaining goes.
Came here on a Saturday morning to meet a friend for coffee, and it was such a cute little spot! Parking is very limited, so keep that in mind. I got lucky and grabbed a spot as someone was leaving. The shop looks like a house from the outside, which adds to its charm. There are a few outdoor seats, and inside it feels cozy, homey, and airy. The interior actually reminded me of a hanok, a traditional Korean home. There aren't any tables and chairs, so this isn't really a place to work or study for hours. There are a few small bay window seats, and on the other side of the shop you can watch the drinks being made. The drink menu is so unique and creative. They serve coffee in all kinds of fun ways, from espresso shots and espresso with lemongrass to espresso ice cream and coffee popsicles. If you love caffeine, you'll probably find something interesting to try! We noticed a few dogs inside, so I'm assuming it's dog-friendly, although I didn't see any signs confirming it. The staff were kind, welcoming, and happy to answer questions and give recommendations. I ordered the classic matcha latte, and my friend got the espresso shot. The espresso shot came in a cute, classy shot glass with a salt rim, which my friend said made the flavor really interesting. My matcha was creamy, earthy, and perfectly balanced. The only thing I wish was different is that it came in a glass cup instead of a plastic one since we were drinking it there. It would've matched the beautiful aesthetic of the shop. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back to try more of their drinks... and maybe the ice cream too!
Tiny new cafe in Brea The parking is tiny also in the back lot, lots of ppl were parking across the street and walking over which was pretty dangerous. I tried to see the menu and it was only in the front with very small font with a very long list of pour over which I think they specialize in. They did not have a cream top latte, which I always try out at every café. I went for the Mont Blanc. It had not mag flavors with a vanilla cream top with a cold brew on the bottom. It had very much floral hints, but it wasn't bad. The indoor seating is very limited with only low tables around the other side of the café. There are no real tables to sit at nor plugs on the wall walls. The line can get pretty long waiting for ordering. I think the size makes it difficult for people to enjoy when there is an influx of customers. Especially on hot days I feel like more seating and more space could accommodate for the high demand.
Cute space & friendly staff! I was really excited to try this place after seeing many posts about it. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the drinks we ordered, especially the watered-down coffee which had more of a burnt taste. Maybe it's just the decaf since I've seen other positive reviews about their coffee drinks? It was $0.50 extra to make the drink decaf, so I was expecting a higher quality bean. The coconut water matcha was ok and the color was great! Not a bad experience, just not a shop that I would go out of my way for to try again.
Another new coffee shop in the city of Brea but it's definitely not your ordinary little coffee spot. This place specializes and takes great pride in their espresso so I had to give them a shot. I arrived on a weekday afternoon and thankfully there was only one party ahead of me. I asked for a rundown on the menu and their popular drinks so the girl working kindly did that for me without hesitation. Here's what I ordered: **Orange Bianco: The layering with this drink looks amazing from the cream top to the espresso to the orange juice on the bottom. The cream top itself lacked flavor and didn't taste like anything. The espresso was bitter and lacked flavor. The orange juice was your plain jane oj. The drink mixed together created chunks and wasn't the most appealing drink overall. **Long Black: This was the closest thing to an Americano so I ordered it. A Long Black is prepared with a layer of water and espresso on top while an Americano is the opposite but I swear it's the same thing because I've seen people prepare Americanos both ways. The espresso was very bitter and lacked overall depth of flavor. I initially went because I did see a tonic based drink on the menu but when I got there, the menu had changed. A day or two later, they had a different tonic based drink available. I also like to order a basic espresso based drink like an Americano but the Long Black did not meet any expectation. The interior is quite minimalistic but the feel isn't all there. From reading prior reviews, I read that the owner was present and providing excellent customer service to everyone but that wasn't the case for me. I saw a person that resembled to be the owner but he did not say a peep even though I was the only one in house at the time. I wish I had stellar experience like 90% of the prior reviewers but this spot is a one and done for me. I can't justify coming back if your espresso lacks depth when you present your shop as an espresso bar.

Coffee 5/5 Price $$$ Service 5/5 Ambiance 3.5/5 A former boba shop has found new life as one of the neighborhood's newest coffee destinations, and after visiting during its soft opening, it's easy to see the potential. One of the baristas shared that the café was only in its third week of operation and graciously apologized for still perfecting their coffee program. The apology turned out to be unnecessary. The Banana Mocha was the standout--refreshing, subtly sweet, and infused with real banana flavor that never veered into the artificial. It disappeared so quickly we never managed to take a photo. The Matcha Blanco was equally impressive, striking a balance between creamy and rich while preserving the earthy, traditional character of quality matcha. Watching the drinks come together added to the experience, as each matcha was whisked to order behind the bar. The café's design already has a strong sense of identity. The exterior, service counter, and thoughtful decorative details create a charming first impression. The interior seating, however, still feels like a work in progress. With just a few wall benches and small stool-like tables, the space is better suited for a brief visit than settling in for an afternoon. Even so, this is the kind of neighborhood café worth seeking out. Come for a thoughtfully crafted drink, bring a friend you're hoping to impress, and plan on a quick catch-up over coffee. If the quality of the beverages is any indication, this young café is already off to a promising start.

The drinks were great. There were a lot of different options. We appreciated the variety. The cafe is located in a house along Imperial Street. There is ample parking. Servers are friendly, helpful and fast. The cafe is trendy. My only issue is there isn't sufficient seating. I wouldn't be able to sit and work there. But if you're looking for good coffee, would recommend.
I think I have a new favorite spot. They opened just a week ago, but the service is great and the drink I ordered (banana moka, less chocolate) was AMAZING. The space is simple and small, but aesthetically pleasing and clean. Very limited parking. A few designated for the old shop in this spot before. I visited at 8am on a Monday and I was able to get an easy spot with several left open.
Pros: * Parking lot * Friendly staff * Very clean Cons: * Drinks were just okay * No food * Hard seating without outlets, so you won't be studying, working, or hanging out here It is an Asian styled coffee house so very minimal decor. Almost austere. But did give you that zen feeling.

Coffees are great! I have tried 3 different drinks over the past 3 days. Their Madagascar is made with homemade vanilla syrup and is delish. The strapazzato is a Neapolitan espresso with brown sugar and a dusting of cocoa. The espresso is rich and satisfying as is. There are drinks that you must enjoy in the cafe which I absolutely appreciate. Enjoy 5 minutes in ur day with an espresso drink in a proper ceramic cup. You deserve that much! read more

Okay, I've been meaning to review this place for the longest time. Definitely loving the vibes and simplicity of the interior of the cafe. Their little metallic tables are heavy and do their job to keep stable haha. Service was friendly and easy going! Bon Bon - 5/5 espresso with condensed milk, definitely wakes you up and love the light bitterness with the espresso and sweetness of the condensed milk combined. Just perfect. Orange Bianco -4/5 citrusy coffee, sorta like a morning mimosa coffee taste. Refreshing, but not for my palette. Mont Blanc -5/5 top creamed lemony light sweetness with the coffee underneath. I think it has lemon floral notes to it, I love the subtleness. Banana Moka - 5/5 sweet bananas, very engaging with taste, definitely up my alley. Matcha Blanc - 4.5/5 I enjoyed the matcha very much, but if I had to rate against everything else I tried so far, it's just below the Banana Moka and Mont Blanc. The creamed top was rich and melted well with the matcha below. Overall, very much enjoyed my time there and their drinks. I actually really don't drink coffee too much, it's rare for me. So, the fact that I enjoy their coffee surprised me and I look forward to it whenever I visit Brea. Wasn't a coffee lover, but now I am :)! read more
Had a great matcha latte here! Asked for it half sweet and it was perfect - not too sweet and high quality matcha. The person working at the counter was so nice! Drink came out quick and the worker was very friendly - wish I knew his name to give him the compliment. Smaller seating area, maybe not a place to do work, but great for chit chat! Very cute and minimalist interior. It was a hot day and it was pretty warm inside, so I'm not sure if there's A/C or it's just warm due to the big windows. Small parking lot behind the cafe - I didn't have any problems finding a spot but I'm sure it can get busy. Overall, really enjoyed my experience and will be returning! read more

This is one of a kind cafe in Brea. As a disclaimer, this is a grab-and-go kind of place, but you can also stand and enjoy the interior as you sip on your choice of drink. Also, unless you're an espresso advocate, it may be hard to order some of those typical drinks, like a Cream Top Latte. Try exploring their more robust espresso drinks! I came in during the soft opening and I can say it's quite impressive. Great service, great explanation of their drinks, and great presentation. I had their Cold Brew and Mont Blanc, and I can say that their drinks are quite robust. The Cold Brew isn't too acidic, yet has a good nutty and light cherry chocolate flavor element. The Mont Blanc is their popular cold drink, so I would recommend that. I always rank cafes based on cold brew taste, and by that standard, I definitely recommend it. I hear that their espresso is something worth trying while enjoying the cafe's ambience. I'll definitely be coming back to enjoy their espresso drinks. read more

I'm not usually the type to leave reviews, but I heard a new coffee shop had opened near my neighborhood, stopped by out of curiosity, and it quickly became one of my favorite local spots. It's right off busy Imperial Hwy, a road I drive by all the time. Unlike most coffee shops around here, it's in its own house with a private parking lot, which gives it a unique feel. The interior has a nice mix of Asian inspired details and modern design that really gives the place its own character. After a few visits, I've tried the Long Black, Mont Blanc, Orange Bianco, and a few of their matcha drinks. Everything I've tried has been unique and really well made. You can tell they put a lot of thought and care into each drink. Personally, the matcha has been my favorite. I love that it's not sweet or covered up with too many flavors. You can actually taste the quality and natural flavor of the matcha itself, which I really appreciate. Really happy to have a unique cafe like this in the neighborhood. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to. read more

Writing this as I'm waiting to get my drink... the vibes are off and not what a coffee shop should be. Customer service could be so much better, maybe smile a little? and it's $9 for a MATCHA?! Let's see if it's actually worth the price... It's good but I've had much better matcha that's under $9. Update: just mixed my drink and this matcha is WAY TOO bitter. This coffee shop has so much potential as Brea doesn't have a lot of coffee shop nearby. Disappointed, hopefully they can take criticism. read more

Food: I got the Orange Bianco. It reminded me a lot of those chocolate bars with orange zest, but instead of chocolate it was espresso haha. The bottom is orange juice, then espresso, and then a cream top. It was really refreshing and had a good amount of caffeine. I was pretty jittery for the rest of the day, but didn't experience a caffeine crash. Service: The service was fast and helpful. I spent some time looking over the menu and the staff were great about recommendations. They asked what I usually drink and suggested items based on it. I feel like most places just suggest what's popular, but I enjoyed they personalized it to my taste. Ambiance: It's a cozy little space. It's overall quaint, so a nice place to unwind with a friend or two. I wouldn't suggest a super huge gathering. There's only bench style seats, so not ideal for a place to work or study. We were so excited to check out SoulCiety! Unfortunately, we were short on time, so we had to grab our drinks to go instead of hanging out and trying the coffee bar--but we'll definitely be back for the full experience. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the gentleman at the counter was so friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the different coffee options and gave us some great recommendations, which we really appreciated. If you're a banana lover, I highly recommend the Banana Moka! I usually avoid banana-flavored drinks because they tend to taste overly artificial, but this one was the complete opposite. It had a fresh, natural banana flavor that paired perfectly with the coffee. The space itself is adorable, with a cozy atmosphere and plenty of seating if you have time to stay. Just keep in mind that parking is a bit limited in the back, so I'd recommend visiting during a less busy time if possible. Overall, it was a great first visit, and I'm already looking forward to coming back! read more

Menu: Simple and not very specific. It doesn't tell you what size the drinks are or whats in them. Drinks: I paid $7 for a small Banana Moka. Its decent but not worth the price for how insanely small it is. My friend got the Matcha Coco and it was almost $9! She said it tasted bitter and unsweetened, she couldn't even force herself to finish it. Very sad about that. Service: I asked the girl working the front a couple questions about the drinks and she was completely clueless. I even asked what milk they used and she didn't really have a response..Maybe she is new, but another worker had to chime in and help her with the drinks. Service was mediocre at most. Ambience: Not much space to sit, very simplistic and definitely not enough room to be studying in. Overall: Im sure some might like this place but I definitely wouldn't see myself coming back. Tried this amazing coffee spot for the first time today! We ordered the Banana Moka and the Nutty Cloud the Banana Moka is made with their in house banana milk and chocolate drizzle. The Nutty Cloud has a peanut butter taste and is so good! I can't wait to return and try some of their matcha specialties the staff were friendly, helpful, and the service was so quick! read more

An elevated coffee experience than anything else in Brea. I'll definitely return to work my way through the menu. I ordered the orange bianco and although I don't think I found my drink in this, I can see the appeal. It reminded me of an orange espresso tonic with cream top. Can't wait to return! read more

I stopped by to try this coffee shop and ordered the Matcha Blanc. Before ordering, I asked what it was because I wasn't familiar with the drink. There seemed to be some confusion among the baristas. The employee helping me asked a coworker, who told her it was a matcha latte with cold foam. I ordered it with oat milk instead of regular milk, which was a $1 upcharge, bringing my total to $9.70 after tax. While I was waiting, I overheard the baristas discussing the drink again. The employee mentioned that the Matcha Blanc actually comes with oat milk, and an older gentleman then said it wasn't supposed to have milk at all. At that point, I wasn't really sure what I was receiving. Unfortunately, the matcha itself was pretty mild and didn't have a strong matcha flavor, and the cold foam didn't really taste like much either. I think I may have enjoyed the drink more if it had been prepared the way it was intended, but the confusion among the baristas seemed to lead me in the wrong direction. The menu isn't very large, so I think it would be helpful if everyone on staff had a clear understanding of the drinks they're serving. That said, pictures of their other drinks look really good, so I'm hoping this was just an off experience. I'd definitely be willing to come back and try something else in hopes of having a better experience next time. read more

New coffee shop in the old Hapa Cupcake building. Small parking lot but enough for this small place. Coffee menu is a bit confusing and not very detailed so I got a cold brew. The men behind the counter were nice but I wish the menu was more detailed so I could try something new. My husband got a shaken espresso which the menu said he couldn't take to go. They served it in a martini glass which was unusual. The seating is awful, just a wood bench with 1/2 inch blue, individual padding (see pictures in previous posts). Not comfortable at all and not so great when there are sneezing, rambunctious kids really close to you. We couldnt leave with our coffee because of the glass The coffee was good but very small portions for the price. Not a relaxing cup of coffee for sure. read more
