Philz Coffee is a wonderful addition to the ever-expanding Brea Mall. I've tried their Tiramisu Latte. Surprisingly super smooth for an iced latte. Rich and creamy tiramisu flavor with perfect balance of coffee flavor. Not powdery at all. I've also had their Iced Mint Mojito which is minty and refreshing with bold coffee flavor. My new favorite is their Campfire S'mores. Great blend of coffee & cream, marshmallow swirl, cinnamon, and cocoa flavor. There's also marshmallows on top but haven't actually eaten them as I usually just sip through their lid. Service has been great. Baristas are super friendly. Drinks would arrive within a few minutes. When they hand the drink, they'd tell me to let them know if the drink is perfect or how the drink is. They'll also ask if I would like a lid. There's plenty of indoor seating although usually packed with patrons. There's also a few tables outside. I love their coffee drinks. Will be back for another visit.
So grateful to have a Philz Coffee close to home! Love this location, the service was great, and it's such a nice spot to catch up with a friend while sipping on their mint mojito iced coffee.
I am a regular at the Whittier location and up until now it has been my favorite. They have competition! I cannot fully put into words how friendly and welcoming the staff is here! Amazing service, the quality of the drinks is stellar, and the ambiance is so fun and cozy! Very nice outside seating. Highly recommend!
The Bottom Line Up Front: In a world filled with corporations masquerading as sophisticated boutiques, Philz is a growing chain that still retains a cozy atmosphere while serving up great coffee. I've been to other Philz, but this review will focus on this Brea location. The Drink: I got the seasonal salted caramel cold brew and it was delicious. Picture Starbucks' caramel macchiato but less sweet and with less acidic espresso. This Philz drink was smooth and creamy, with enough caffeine kick to keep me powered throughout the day. The Service: Our barista was very knowledgeable and offered a few suggestions and a couple of samples so that I could make the right selection. Grade A service! The Setting: Located in the new section of Brea Mall, this Philz location is a freestanding building so you have to walk outside of the mall to access it from the southwest side. There's no street parking, so you'll need to park in the large parking structure across from Nordstrom (currently...but they are doing more construction so this could change in the future). The Conclusion: As part of a franchise that doesn't act like one, the Brea location of Philz offers great coffee with excellent customer service.
If you are tired of standard lattes and want a coffee that is genuinely tailored to your taste, Philz is a must-visit! Unlike typical cafes, every single cup is brewed as an individual pour-over using their own custom bean blends. This location has spacious seating and lots of outlets for working remotely as well!
Saw they have a Philz in Brea Mall. Trying their feature Caramel Coconut. Requested for light sugar and still tasted too sweet. Ordered through the app and it was easy and fast. The inside was freezing cold, so I ordered a hot version of Caramel Coconut. Tastes pretty good except a bit too sweet.
Brea was long overdue to have its own PHILZ location. I have to admit the new remodel of the mall is spectacular for the city of Brea. I particularly really love the Phil'z location, because it is so easy to get to being on the outside of the mall as well as having a small play area on the outside for the little ones to enjoy or to sit down and enjoy your Philz Coffee. My personal go to is always gonna be the mint Mojito or the iced rosé, but that does not dim the light on their seasonal menu. I just had the chance to check out the butterscotch cold brew, and if you're a beer fan, this is the coffee version of it. The butterscotch flavors were very rich and deep that appeared so great with their coffee. I also have just become the biggest fan of their breakfast burritos. You can never go wrong with the green hatch chili burrito!
I was wanting a caffeine fix and saw that Philz is now open at the Brea Mall! It's located in the newer section of the mall, with construction still all around it. I love the spaciousness of this location. It's bigger than other Philz I've been to and there's plenty of seating. The decor is very cute, I especially love the "Cup of Love" lighting inside! What a clever way to light up the cafe! The outside of the shop opens up to an astro-turf lawn with seating and an area where kids could play, so that's nice. The have a couple new limited drink offerings: Salted Butterscotch or the Caramel Coconut cold brews. I decided to forgo on my usual Mint Mojito and try the caramel coconut cold brew and I'm so glad I did. It was so good - perfectly sweet but I could still taste coffee. The baristas were super friendly and helpful, and didn't make me feel rushed at all even when I was standing in line forever trying to download their new app. Luckily I was the only one in line at the time!

I go to Philz Coffee often near my work, and their staple drinks are usually solid, which is why this experience stood out -- unfortunately not in a good way. We visited the Brea Mall location around 10am. There was no line or anyone else waiting for their orders, so we ordered two drinks and a muffin right away. Even though I'm sure they had a few online orders to work through, that was totally fine -- we waited patiently in the large seating area. Our drinks came out after a few minutes, but the muffin didn't. We continued waiting, and it seemed like our muffin order had been forgotten. My husband politely asked about it, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the delay. Again, not a huge deal -- we just wanted the muffin. We stood near the pickup area for several more minutes while the employees were chatting, and another five minutes went by. It was frustrating trying to understand why heating up one muffin was taking so long. When we finally received the muffin, we needed napkins, but none were available in the seating area, so we had to ask again. At that point, it felt like we were constantly interrupting workers who didn't seem interested in helping. I still like Philz and will continue going to other locations, but this particular visit at the Brea Mall location was disappointing due to slow service and lack of attentiveness. Beautiful location, poor service.
Glad to see a Philz Coffee in Brea now. This is the right location for this brand and it looks like the logo was updated since my last visit to the Pasadena location? All coffees are made by cup to order and to your taste. I recommend the Philtered Soul or Tesora options. The secret to Philz Coffee is that the use dark brown sugar and heavy whipping cream to make it taste better. You should try Philz! They were featured in the TV series 'Silicon Valley' since they started in the Bay Area.
Awesome addition to the Brea Mall! Every time we go there, the service is quick and friendly. Mint Mojito is our go to! They have pastries here which are good too! There's plenty of seating inside, but the best part is that just outside is the new play/relax seating area of the mall. Great place to relax with your drink and people watch or enjoy the sunset.

I've tried other things on the menu, and there are so many options to choose from, but somehow I always come right back to my Mint Mojito. Philz coffee is at the new corners of Brea mall. It looks very upscale. The shop is fairly big with tables chairs and even sofa inside. The line system is good. Service is better than expected. This coffee shop was opened about 2 weeks ago at the Brea Mall. I am not a coffee person, but love to drink hot or iced Teas. Ordered Iced Mint Mojito with Almond milk - it was bit strong, but I enjoyed the flavor. Toasted Jalapeño Cheddar bagel with Cream Cheese. It simply good and delicious. Nice ambiance. Friendly staff. Good not great. Better than Starbucks drinks but not super memorable. I enjoyed my Philtered Soul (hazelnut & caramel) drink but my husband, who is the actual coffee connoisseur, didn't like his Ether drink. He actually preferred mine which almost never happens! Lol. This location just opened up with the expansion of Brea mall, so the wait took VERY long...about 30 minutes for 2 drinks. However, I do anticipate they'll get the groove of things as it comes with time. It was also super cold inside bc AC is blasting so not ideal to study unless you bring a sweater. Hopefully, this location will improve overall (taste, service, ambiance) because they have a prime spot! read more

A brand new Philz just outside of the Brea mall next to Nordstrom. There is a neat turf area outside with chairs to relax while sipping your coffee. I came here twice. Once on a weekday and the second time on Saturday. Lily was really accommodating when I came here on a busy Saturday. I ordered two drinks and there was some confusion on one of them and she remade it for me to my liking! The drinks will take a while to make since a lot of them are made like pour overs, specifically the way you order them so expect a wait. Not sure why people are giving low ratings because it takes a while. This is not Starbucks. It's waaaay better! Also, it's not espresso type drinks, it's drip coffee. read more

Honestly, the Honey Haze here is my absolute go-to. When it's made right, it is a 10/10. the mix of the Philtered Soul cold brew, oat milk, and honey is literally the perfect smooth and sweet combo.The only reason I'm dropping a star is that the consistency can be a hit or miss depending on who is working the bar. Sometimes it comes out a bit watered down compared to normal and not mixed so I find the honey at the bottom in the end which is not the best .Also, just a heads up if you're driving here, parking can be a total hassle. Since it's in the mall area and there are so many new spots opening up lately, the lot gets packed fast.That being said, most of the time the coffee is amazing. This Philz location is perfect for a post or pre-shopping fuel up or if you just want to sit in the courtyard patio and sip a drink in the sunshine. The staff is super friendly. On the holiday drinks: Yesterday, I had the BEST Gingersnap. I had been getting it hot at other locations and tried it iced per the recommendation of the barista. LOVED it. I got it with low sweetness, oat milk instead of heavy cream. It was delicious. The cold foam on top is chef's kiss! I also added the blueberry bear claw. So yummy. The blueberry is unexpected. Love the Philz brand and have frequented the Fullerton spot for years. Super excited to see an outpost in Brea mall now. Let me just start with the positive- the layout, seating and flow of the shop is gorgeous. It is also situated near an outdoor (artificial) greenway which is great for seating or having the kiddos run around. This all being said, the coffee needs work here lol. The Caramel Banana drink we tried here was not very good. No banana taste and heavily sweet (though we asked for 1/2 sweetness). Alas a mixed review for now, but I promise to return and adjust my rating accordingly! read more

I tried Philz Coffee at the Brea Mall and was immediately drawn in by how cute and modern the shop looked. The line was long, but it moved fairly quickly. I ordered the Honey Haze and the Oatmeal Cookie Cold Brew. Since it was my first time, I tried asking a few questions, but the staff wasn't particularly friendly or helpful. Giving it 4 stars mainly because of the long wait times, which seems consistent no matter when I visit, and the floors and seats could be tidied up a bit more.
