I came here craving a bagel early in the morning and ordered the lox on an everything bagel. The filling was so good and fresh, with the perfect amount of cream cheese, and the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, the bagel itself was a huge disappointment. It was cooked unevenly. One side was soft while the other side was hard, and it tasted like it had been sitting out for a day or two. For a bagel shop, I expected much better quality. Honestly, I can get a whole pack of softer, fresher bagels from Costco for about the same price as one bagel here. I really wanted to love this place because the customer service and filling were great, but the quality of the bagel was very unsatisfying. Sadly, I don't think I'll be returning. read more

I haven't been convinced to have bagel as breakfast every morning, but their signature one, I think it's called Lux, is pretty good. It has smoked salmon and veggies and cream cheese so it's well balanced. The CTA is not that good and I think it's pretty bland comparing to the signature Lux. Stopped by this bagel spot tucked next to a business complex. The place is chill. Concrete floors, white tables, TVs going, and the guy working the counter was super friendly. I'm pretty sure he was the owner. He had that vibe, and you could tell he really cared about the place. It was a cold and rainy day, so the place was empty while I was there, but I'm sure once the weather clears or it gets closer to lunch, it fills up quick. I got the lox bagel on a jalapeño bagel with cream cheese, tomato, onion, and capers. I've had a bunch of lox bagels before, and this one looked clean and fresh. Nice layer of cream cheese, fresh tomato slices, capers tucked in under the salmon, and thin-cut red onions on top. Everything stayed in place too, so it wasn't falling apart the second I picked it up. The jalapeño bagel had a little heat, not crazy spicy, just enough to give it a nice kick. I also grabbed a second bagel with cream cheese on an Asiago cheese bagel. That one was bomb. You could see the golden baked cheese on the crust, and it added a little crispness when I bit into it. The cream cheese combo with the Asiago was simple but really hit the spot. I'll definitely stop in again next time I'm in the area. Yummmmm! This spot is unique with their cream cheese. When I bit into the lox bagel, the cream cheese was more creamy versus a hard cream. The owner takes so much pride in his food and service and it shows! This spot is a pretty big space and accommodates a lot of parties. I saw a few families enjoying the bagels on a Sunday morning. I love breakfast bagel sandwiches so I was excited to see a new bagel shop had popped up in the area. The menu has a decent sized offering and I decided to get the "Sunrise Sando" ($8.75) which included a couple of eggs, cheese, avocado, bacon and tomato on a bagel of your choice of which I opted for Sourdough. While it couldn't top one of my favorite bagel shops in the north OC area, it was still a solid bagel sandwich that I thoroughly enjoyed. Perhaps I should have gotten it on an Everything bagel or Garlic bagel instead though. The interior of the restaurant is fairly spacious and has a decent amount of seating for a bagel shop which I appreciated. The restaurant felt clean and I also appreciated the cheery smiles of all the workers. There's a nearby parking structure which I parked in which was convenient and the restaurant doe validate for parking however, I didn't need validation when I came in on a Saturday morning as they apparently keep the structure gates open on weekends. read more

They mistakenly forgot to add the tomatoes and the avocado that comes with the sunrise sando. We told them and they kindly made a new one for us! Even told us to keep the one we had. My husband and I had tried several of the popular bagel spots around the area and all were disappointing. As former New Yorkers, the quality of the bagels at NY Bagel are outstanding compared to some of the shops in North Orange County. This has easily become our top spot to get bagels when in town. The establishment is on a side street close to CSU Fullerton. Their establishment is new and well-maintained. There is plenty of seating options available for customers who would like to dine in. Upon entering for our first visit, we were surprised to see the owner of our favorite bagel place in the Inland Empire standing behind the counter. After experiencing so many misses with the other local bagel places, we knew we had to be in for a treat based on the quality we experience from the owner's other location. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Tasty local no frills bagel spot near CSF that makes a proper Lox bagel! We decided to stop in here on a Yelp whim and we are glad we did! An almost perfect Lox bagel awaited us (yes they had egg bagels) with a nice slathering of cream cheese, lox, red onions, yumm. We did come a bit later in the morning so they were sold out of some familiar bagel flavors, but we settled on a toasted everything bagel as our second option. Spoke with the gentleman working here and found out this is actually their second location as they have another one in Rancho C. There is limited street parking or you can park in the structure nearby. The shop is small but, there is plenty of seating available. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We ordered two specialty bagels. ::CTA - cream cheese, tomato, and avocado with a dash of lemon pepper. I opted for no tomato. The bagel was soft and nicely toasted which gave it a crispy texture. I think the poor guys running this place either are clueless, had a huge run on the bagels before I arrived, or need a better manager because there were very few fresh bagels when I arrived at noon. They also ran out of coffee and creamer and milk in the containers, but were able to fill my cup from the brewed coffee behind the counter. I watched one guy slice open numerous bagels on display before realizing they were moldy and tossing them out. He replaced them with another stash, again in the back. I chose the rainbow one because it was the largest of the selection, not because I'm gay.:) It also looked the most appetizing of the puny selection. Basically, it was good to eat and drink, but definitely not going to go out of my way again to visit. These 3 guys reminded me of the 3 stooges in the way they were running this place. It was unprofessional, disorganized, and offered very little to the customer. They need to find a better supplier and if they are making it themselves, they need to make it more creamy and whipped. Like real New York cream cheese. Theirs is hard and flavorless. Asked about the 3 tubs of cream cheese, the lady asked the manager/guy working and he walked over and said it was in the top box... but the way he looked when he said it wasn't convincing. So, because I was taking this to a client, I opened the top box to be sure, and guess what, no cream cheese. He then points and said, oh I put it in the bottom box. Again, not wanting to drop off 24 dry bagels to a client, I open the bottom box. No cream cheese. I look at him and he has this very guilty face, legit was trying to send me out with out it. He then sheepishly reaches down and pulls the already bagged and ready cream cheeses out of the fridge. The shop is located under apartment buildings so parking is a paid garage shared with the apartment.
