Tried their tofu soup with beef. Good flavor and tasty. The sides are refillable. The only downside is that they didnt have bean sprout. Came on a sunday night no wait.

I visited Ap Gu Jung for lunch on Wednesday with my friend around 1 p.m. I was seated upon arrival without a reservation. Ap Gu Jung is a small store inside the plaza on Golden Springs Dr in Diamond Bar. We ordered the Pork Backbone Stew ($47.99). The portion is pretty big, and it can feed 3 people, even though it's listed as serving 2 on the menu. The Pork Backbone was very delicious. It also came with traditional Korean cold dishes like Kimchi, seaweed, rice noodles, etc. The service was great! I will definitely visit again to try other dishes, like the Korean Pork Sausage, which sounds very interesting.

The soondae plate here is absolutely delicious. Nothing like the frozen version you buy at the supermarket. It is soft and chewy, and the outer skin is not tough or rubbery. My friend and I ended up finishing the entire plate the sides were also delicious, our favs were the kimchi, fish cake, and seaweed. I think we enjoyed the shareables more than what we ordered individually. The menu is pricier, however the portions are hugee. Overall 5/5 will be back :)

    Octopus with noodles

Food was authentic and delicious! The seafood pancake was so crispy and had so much seafood in there! We also ordered the octopus noodles - spicy, savory, sweet, chewy, and addictive. It comes with noodles but it wasn't enough to go with all the octopus. I would recommend also ordering some rice on the side to eat with the delicious sauce. Service was prompt but what you'd expect from a hole-in-the-wall Korean restaurant. Would visit again to try different things on the menu.

The service was great. They were accommodating. They moved us to a nice bigger booth when it became available. The food satisfied my cravings. I love variety and the banchan they served. The pork was delicious.

I came here with my husband and tried their spicy pork bbq and galbitang, it was very delicious and their banchan are really tasty. I came again a few days later craving some spicy cold noodles, but they don't seem to have it, so I tried the cold noodle soup, again their food is so delicious. The lady there is very sweet and recognized me when I came the second time. I'll be back again to try other food on the menu. The restaurant is small but cozy.

My number 1 go to spot for cold noodles, bossam and soondae guk bap. Oh and samgyetang Those are the items I've tried so far and so good! The service here is amazing. I come here alone and I feel comfortable and happy. Place is snugged away in the back of the shopping complex. If you miss home cooking and nice service i highly recommend coming by here.

Authentic Korean food. Waitress is very kind and sweet. Tip her kindness generously. Vibes are nice. Outside there is a bright led sign. Inside is comfy but not small. A comfortable arrangement. Design is very nice.

It was my first time dining at Ap Gu Jung, and I was immediately impressed upon entering. Most of the guests were Korean, which made me feel more confident about the authenticity of the food. We ordered the Bossam and the Seafood Pancake. The portions were generous--we couldn't finish everything and had to take some home. The food was excellent, especially the Seafood Pancake, which was full with shrimp, squid, and crab sticks. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, making the experience even better. What a unique experience!…read more Grilling, bbq-ing, etc is a norm but steaming your food on the table? Now that's something else! I really enjoyed the dinner I had, they offer lots of options, from freshly made buns, dumplings to fresh seafood. The menu is pretty extensive and they also offer cooked dishes from the kitchen. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They made sure we get the best experience as it was our first time dining at this place. We had the big eye fish as they called it and they steamed it at the other empty table because our buns and dumplings were steaming at the same time to save time. They finish the fish at the kitchen with the hot oil and sauce. We also had the pork and shrimp buns, and beef dumplings. They were delicious! You can make your sauce at the station too and they provide good options. We also got the baby oysters appetizer that was soaking in some sort of light soy sauce marinade. Also got the soft shell crab and you get 3 whole crabs for $10! It was so worth it! The whole restaurant looked clean and inviting. The booths were spacious. I would definitely come back here and try other dishes!

Came to YOUPENG Seafood recently and overall had a really enjoyable experience…read more The crab was fresh and beautifully presented. The meat was sweet and tender, and the sauce had a nice balance of savory flavor without overpowering the natural seafood taste. You can tell the quality of the seafood is solid. The sea urchin egg custard was super smooth and silky. The uni added a rich, slightly briny depth that paired really well with the delicate steamed egg. Definitely a standout if you like uni. Each dishes had its own highlight. Ambiance is modern and clean, giving a slightly upscale seafood house vibe. Service was decent and the food came out nicely presented. Prices are on the higher side, but for fresh seafood and quality ingredients, it feels reasonable for a special meal. Would come back again to try more of their live seafood options.

We've been exploring our new neighborhood recently and stumbled upon this hidden gem a few minutes…read moreaway from us. We were craving siomai and Peking duck for dinner. Fortunately, they serve both. We both love siomai, duck, and crispy salted squid so we ordered the trio. The siomai was fresh. Tasted as if it was just off a lunch cart. It's delicious and the serving size is quite generous. The price is unbeatable too. We really enjoyed its balanced taste. Sometimes, siomai can be a bit bland but this was packed with flavor. The Peking Duck was great too. Reminded us of our time in Hong Kong. Less oily but still delicious. The buns were great too. We both enjoyed every bite. The sauce was excellent too. It had sweetness to it from the pineapple sauce. The salted crispy squid is balanced. Salty yet a bit sweet. It's definitely more of the indulgent side of things. Best paired with rice. We skip the carbs that night, but we'll definitely order this again paired with something else. The service here is great. Everyone is welcoming and helpful. It doesn't feel like rushed service. Ambiance here feels like your typical Chinese restaurant. It's clean and you can tell it has aged over time. You're here for the good food though, not the aesthetics. This will definitely be our local go to. We genuinely enjoyed the food and can't wait to explore more of the menu during our next visit.

The menu includes your typical dim sum items, and pricing of each type of dim sum is color coded so you are aware of the cost. It does also have your traditional dim sum cart that come by your table to serve your popular dim sum dishes like Har Gaw (rice-skin dumpling with shrimp), etc. For items that are not in the push cart, you can order these directly with the waiter. For two people, we ordered steamed chicken feet, shu mai, shrimp rice rolls, ham sui gok (deep fried meat dumplings, and creamy egg yolk buns. Food wise, taste as expected and portion is plenty for two people. It's good enough if you are craving for dim sum locally, and don't have to travel all the way to SGV. Service wise, make sure when you wave down your server to order all your dishes, or it may take him/her a while to come back around. Pricing wise, great value considering the local area. Worth checking it out when in the area. Come and support our local businesses!

Food was fine, but the service needs a lot of work…read more It was our first time coming here, so I had no idea how anything worked. When we first arrived, the front was completely disorganized, and there were no lines at all. People were just crowding around the hostess table, so I had no idea how to add my name to the waitlist. There were no signs that showed where the line starts, and no line was being formed at all. The hostess kept having to walk people to their table, so it was nearly impossible to grab her attention. When I did manage to do so, she was very rude and prioritized other people before us. She obviously saw us come in before other people, but ignored that fact and just added other people to the waitlist first. Ridiculous. Their waitlist system is through Yelp, which sends you a text when your table is ready. Based on the app, it said that our table wouldn't be ready for about 1.5 hours, so we decided to walk around the outlet in the meantime. After nearly 1.5 hours, I saw that we were 2nd in line and decided to have our family walk back to the restaurant. While we were waiting outside for me to receive the text, we heard the host call my name and say that our table was ready. We met with him, and I said that it was odd since I hadn't received the text yet. He said, "Oh no, the hostess told me about you guys. You said that your phone was dead, so you'd hang around the restaurant and wait for us to call your name." No. We never said that. They have us confused with a different party. This means that if I hadn't checked the waitlist regularly and had just waited for that text, it never would've come, and we never would've gotten seated. What a messy system. Also, I've never been to a seafood boil restaurant where we have to ask for the bibs. Normally, they're given to us right when we're seated, so it was weird. We noticed other people were given bibs right when they're seated, so we're not sure why this happened. Other Kickin' Crab locations also give you an entire bottle of ketchup, whereas this place only gives small plastic cups. Weird. I think the employees and other customers would agree with me when I say that the entire place is completely disorganized because multiple orders around us were being messed up. The table to our left was missing its piece of corn and sausage in its bag of shrimp, while the table to our right was missing crawfish in their bag. The workers were obviously trying their best to straighten things out, but it didn't seem to be working. The menu is consistent with their other locations, but the market prices are a bit higher than what we're used to. Compared to the location that we always go to, this place offers bigger frozen crawfish, but the bags were mainly just the claws, so it seemed like a big ripoff. * Cajun Fries: 8/10 - nice cook, but there was only cajun seasoning on the top * Shrimp (Head-On): 9/10 - good flavor * Crawfish (Frozen): 6/10 - big crawfish, but the bag was mostly just claws and not enough garlic The place is located at the Shoppes of Chino Hills outlet, so parking is relatively easy. After being seated, the servers were nice, but it was difficult to enjoy the experience because of everything that had already happened. Overall, the service was a huge letdown, and we did not feel comfortable eating here. Places like this are why tipping is optional. The workers at the Kickin' Crab location we usually go to are way more laidback and friendlier, yet still maintain impeccable service. Would not return.
