C1. Galbi (BBQ Beef Rib) & Tofu Soup / 갈비&순두부 / 烤牛排骨 & 嫩豆腐

In my favorite city, this is definitely my go to Korean spot. It's always consistent, fast, super hearty, and just really good every single time. The kind of place you end up craving because you know it'll hit every time. Also extra points for being open late until 10 PM because it's honestly so hard to find spots in this city that stay open later. Perfect for late dinners or when you just want something comforting at the end of the night.

This is the third time we come back to Tofu Bean! The food is always delicious and the service is great. I highly recommend the tofu soup. I got the seafood/beef tofu soup in a spice level medium. It was a big spicy, not too much. I love the sides and how they are attentive and give you more of what you need.

I decided to try Tofu King KBBQ in Diamond Bar for a quick dinner, and I ended up with a 3.5-star experience. I only did takeout this time around, and I have to say, the process was super easy and convenient. One thing they definitely get right is the portion size. I got a lot of food for what I paid, which is always a win. However, the main event was a bit of a letdown. I found the tofu soup to be really lacking in both texture and flavor. It just didn't have that rich, savory punch I look for in a good soondubu. In my opinion, Young Dong Tofu just down the street still reigns supreme when it comes to the soup itself. Since I didn't eat inside, I can't really comment on the dine-in vibe or service, but it's a solid enough spot if you're looking for a heavy portion of food to-go. I'd probably come back for the KBBQ meats, but I'll skip the tofu soup next time.

Got seated immediately on a Sunday afternoon. Service was efficient despite there only being 2 staff members working at the moment. They kind of seemed frazzled having to do so much between only the two of them. I ordered a seafood tofu soup and the reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that the soup had a slightly buttery flavor that I didn't like. I highly doubt they use butter in the soup but it just tasted like that. I loved the banchan, especially the cucumbers. I like that they have purple rice. I would return if I were in the complex, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

For $16.99, tofu bean hits the spot when craving a hot hearty soup. The service was good and there's plenty of parking in the plaza. Inside was clean and we got seated immediately on a Friday night. I ordered the tofu soup with beef intestine and although there wasn't that much intestine in it, it was still delicious and chewy. My sister opted for the tofu soup with oysters which only had around 5 pieces and her bf got the tofu soup with pork or beef which he thoroughly enjoyed. Would have liked the tofu soup to have more in it, but the side dishes were all delicious and fresh. Each order came with a side of yummy purple sticky rice and an egg you plop into your piping hot soup to cook. The fish cake, kimchi, cucumbers, pickled radishes, seaweed, bean sprouts, and mashed potato's were all soo good plus free refills! You can also ask for complimentary hot barley tea. A pretty good soup place and would come try their other menu items! Also mild spice was not spicy at all for me so definitely go with medium if you prefer a little more of a kick. Maybe will try their seafood tofu soup next :)

Fresh Korean food from a nice tofu soup chain. The place is run well with easy online ordering for pick up. No markups with their ordering system. Easy access parking in a strip mall. Order was ready on time and placed in a box for easy take out. The food is expected, good fresh tofu, crunchy and soft on the inside pork cutlet, nice rice cake and classic bibimbap with purple rice. The portions are fair the cost is about expected in the current climate. Would consider returning for great Korean food dine in next time.

3rd time back and it's just as delicious. The banchan is so delicious and comforting. Kind, cozy, welcoming staff.

The food was really good, the katsu and fish were nicely fried. The sides had a mild taste but held its texture that made it taste fresh and nourishing. Not many places serve potato salad but I really enjoyed the smoothness and subtle sweetness of it. The service was great and they were always ready to refill any drinks and sides. The place was quiet on a Monday but well kept and they gave kpop videos on their monitors. I would 100% come back to get their pork cutlet.

I got the stone pot rice and tofu soup, specifically the kimchi and beef, and it tasted great. It stays hot for a long time, so you actually have to be careful. Full of flavor and very satisfying. The service was great, and the banchan was solid as well. The kimchi gets my approval. This has to be up there in my rankings of tofu soup places. I will definitely be back.

S2. Bulgogi / 불고기 / 烤牛肉

As my husband says, "I can't find anything wrong with it." Lol. This is one of our go-to restaurants when staying with my parents in Diamond Bar. I've been going to this place for over 25 years! I think they've changed ownership over the years, but the food has stayed consistently good. Love the combo with kalbi or bulgogi with the oyster tofu soup. I like spicy foods but generally still order mild and find that it's a nice level. But medium would probably be fine, too. The banchan (little side dishes) are all great. My favorites are the seaweed, the bean curd, and the potato salad!

Kid friendly, clean and casual ambience, with kpop silently playing on several tv screens. They offer many dishes from of course their name sake tofu soup or soondubu and noodles, dumplings, grilled or fried fish , seafood pancakes, and more! We ordered the bulgogi with soondubu for lunch to share with the kids. We got mild spicy though you can get NO spicy for kiddos. Great price for the combo and good for splitting as a family or couple! We just added extra rice for sharing. Very easy to find parking. Grand Fresh Market is nearby too so good for combined activities.

My goodness, the buttered crab was freaking fantastic, the eel was great, the lemon pepper salmon delicious. We need to get Atoyubu out into the mainstream, we need them to be on every street corner. I was so hyped eating these little pockets of flavor that I couldn't stop. I think next time I'll have to order 100. But in all honesty, for a single person 3-4 is perfect amount, they are packed with rice and a great deal of toppings, and each flavor is better than the last. I ordered their rice pockets, but they were almost entirely filled with rice and contained only a tiny, minuscule amount of fish. The portion sizes are very small, especially when compared to the high prices and what you get at other similar places that sell these types of pockets. I also tried the spicy version, and it was waaaay too spicy, to the point where it completely overpowered everything, and I couldn't taste the fish at all. On top of that, the ordering process is a hassle. They don't take phone orders anymore, forcing you to do everything online, which is just cumbersome and inconvenient. When I went to pick up my food, the service was kind of cold. The staff basically just hand you the bag without a word, yet the payment system still expects you to leave a tip. Really? For just passing a bag over the counter? No thanks. Between the lackluster portions, over-the-top spice, inconvenient ordering, and cold service, I won't be coming back.
