The food was delicious. One thing I know is when Koreans say spicy - they mean spicy. The yupdduk with level original spiciness - I spicy. So be cautious when ordering. We enjoyed the fact that it was spicy, chased it down with a coke. The gentleman working was kind and attentive We'll be back.

First time trying Yupdduk! Very delicious and flavorful spicy Korean rice cake and pork cutlets. We also tried the seaweed fries. My family enjoyed it, we will definitely go back.

I was so hungry with others that we practically ordered a lot of food, but the food was GOOD! It's in a plaza that can be fairly packed so beware finding parking with a big group of people. Service was fast as there wasn't a lot of people upon arrival but then right when dinner came around, there was more people. For food, we go the classic yupdduk which can vary in spiciness and you can add additional toppings too. For toppings, we got the glass noodles. It was definitely delicious with a lot of variations to choose from! We also got the seaweed rice ball, assorted fries (veggie fries), fishcake soup, and kimbap! I love the sides and would definitely come here again as it didn't miss!

I really want to give this better review because it's been on my list forever, but had a rather disappointing experience here. I came here about an hour to closing, but there were still some customers and plenty of employees around. I waffled between regular Yup Dduk or the rose yup dduk and opted for the original. I also got fried seaweed noodles also. I decided on the mild since I thought it would be ok with the spice. Everything was ordered through an iPad, which I had no issues with. The fried item came out first. I was hoping that yup dduk would come out fairly quickly after so I can dip it in with the sauce, but no luck so I ended up eating pretty dry seaweed roll, which would have been better with a sauce. A long time later the yup dduk came out. Immediately I noticed how watery the dish was. My guess is that since I came a little close to closing (although it was still an hour left and plenty of customers came in after me), they didn't reduce the sauce long enough. This might have been my mistake, but for mild it was so spicy (and I can handle spice normally). There was not enough cheese, so just spicy overall. I ended up ordering tuna mayo rice to counter the spiciness. Definitely would suggest ordering extra mild the first time. The other thing is I never got an heads up from the employees. Even the tuna rice, I saw later on Yelp that you're supposed to make it into rice balls, I got no instructions for it (or gloves which I think you're supposed to get). I left pretty disappointed and still slightly hungry because i definitely couldn't finish the meal. I don't think I will be back, but if you want to try, I would recommend getting it extra mild and definitely doing some research before going here.

tteokbokki: 4.5/5 - Rich, spicy, and flavorful sauce with just the right amount of heat. The chewy rice cakes pair perfectly with the melted cheese swirl, adding creaminess to balance the spice. gimbap: 4/5 - Fresh and well-rolled with a nice mix of fillings. The sesame seeds on top add a good nutty touch, though a bit more seasoning in the rice could make it even better. Parking can be tricky during peak hours as there is a supermarket in the same plaza.

We visited in a large group so I was fortunate enough to sample many dishes. The tried and true is, of course, the yup dduk in which both extra mild and jja jang are delicious. My new favorite discovery that I was skeptical about at first was the Parmesan squid steak. Cheese and squid sounded like an odd combination at first to me, but I ended up reaching for it again and again. There's plenty of indoor seating so they were able to accommodate our group of 8.

I thought I had done a review for this place but it must have gotten missed. Yupdduck Diamond Bar is located behind Hanmi Bank and Market World in Diamond Bar/Walnut. Parking can get little busy especially due to more electric charging station being added. Yupdduck is known for their tteokbokki and you customized it however way you want to spice level or sweetness to adding more toppings on top. You can also pick from more fish cake or more rice cake option as well. For the amount of food they give you the price is reasonable. Inside is fairly small but food tastes really good. This time I went little crazy and ordered lot of different food to try because I was with big group of friends. We had to get the OG regular tteokbokki and we also got their jjajang tteokbokki. Other side dishes we got were, whole grilled squid, omurice (omelette rice) is how they call it, and fried chicken, seaweed rice balls, fish cake soup, two kinds of kimbap (tuna and ham) and fried goodies (tempura, mandu and seaweed roll (gimmari). Service was top notch. They kept coming to see how we were doing and refilled our waters and I had ordered Fanta in a bottle and Coke bottle they had were from Mexico. Definitely coming back to this location to try to rose tteokbokki and other korean comfort food. They are definitely super busy with take outs. Think we definitely attracted cutomers who walked in after we got our good because they were asking us what we had gotten so they could order the same dish. Love supporting small and legit business. The flavors are great and to add on top their service is amazing as well. So if you crave korean food this is the spot to try.

Cozy vibes to hang out with friends and good service. * Mala Yup Oh [$29 with Egg extra $3, Cheese extra $3 + Chinese noodle extra $4 =total $36] This reminded me of Taiwanese hot pot. Definitely has kick even though we ordered extra mild. Sweet and spicy but more savory than OG Tteokbokki. Rice cakes were a nice soft chewiness and not undercooked. * Spicy Chicken Wings $20 (comes with several rice balls)- sauce remind me of mixture of gochujang and soy sauce. Definitely a spicy savory kick. * Soondae R $16: Super soft and not as tender as expected because it's filled with glass noodles.Different from a Vietnamese sausage and even English sausage.

Been wanting to go here and finally went one night after dropping my daughter off at CSUF. It's so cute and quaint in there. The servers were very nice and guided us to the menu on the table. We got our food and portions were great. We ate the fried chicken, 1/2 yupdduk rose, calamari, and the spam fried rice. I don't usually get affected by spice but their mild was already a little spicy. Will definitely come back and when I do, no spice. Hehe

I order mild and original before but not spicy at all. I normally eat original or mild in K town and it was spicy at there. I like spicy but not super spicy. (Like K town one) Which spiciness should I choose? Did It improve now? Thank you

Had it recently and It's still not as spicy as the K Town location so probably get the next level up.

Is the sauce for the YUP DDUK wheat free?

Can I request no sugar in the rice cakes and noodles I know there syrup but I can't have :(?

Are your rice cakes gluten free? Do you offer any wheat free food options? (my son has a wheat allergy)

Hello Angela, The rice cakes are not gluten free. Wheat free food would be our charbroiled items. You can control the spiciness level of those as well!

When we call for a delivery do we pay cash when you come to the house or by card?

We can take both cash and card! :)

Hi, why are the rice cakes all cut down the middle? Just curious.

How spicy is the mild version? Can kids eat the mildest version or is it still spicy for kids under 10?

Mild is not a regular mild, it's SUPER spicy. I would recommend extra mild for kids

Everything we had tasted so delicious and flavorful, even the side dishes that consisted of kimchi, fish cakes, and some chives. We kept asking for more and the employees were more than happy to keep them coming! For food, we got the bossam, sulungtang, and yukgaejang. The bossam arrived on this grill that kept it warm throughout the meal, which I can appreciate. The sulungtang and yukgaejang were both phenominal and hit the korean comfort food cravings. Get the purple rice!! Not to mention they had deals on alcohol too. I believe $5 for beer and $7 for a soju bottle -- cant beat that in this economy! The pork is consistently tender, and the banchan (side dishes) are always fresh and high quality. The braised beef was good, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. It could have been braised longer, and I felt the sauce didn't really penetrate the meat the way it has at other places, so the flavor was a bit lacking. The only real downside was that the older woman working that day was a little short with us. Other than that, the food is consistently solid. Overall, 4/5.
