Pomegranate Soju and Mojito Flavor Soju
    Vivian T.

Hanshin Pocha is that one restaurant for the late night eats and drinks if you choose to do so. This is not the first Hanshin Pocha I've been to, but this location is pretty spacious and can easily accommodate small groups. We saw a big group of 20-ish that tried to combine their tables, but since they were circular, they wouldn't connect very well. I tried their Spam Kimchi Pancake, Pomegranate Soju cocktail, and chicken wings, in a mild buffalo sauce. I liked the pancake, and it was just the right amount of sourness from the kimchi. It tasted great with the dipping sauce. The chicken wings were dry and small. The promo for it looked better than in person, so if we were to re-order I'd choose a Korean fried chicken. The service is attentive, and the place is great for all types of occasions. In the corner of the restaurant was also a photobooth which I didn't get to check out but might be easy to miss. I'd consider coming back with a bigger group since portion sizes are quite big!

"Pocha" is short for "pojangmacha", which means "cover wagon", referencing the tarp-covered food stalls of the past that provided affordable food and drinks to workers. The restaurant originated in 1998 in South Korea as the first large-scale indoor Pocha, designed to combine the nostalgic atmosphere of street carts with cleaner, more hygienic environment. The chain is associated with famous South Korean celebrity chef Paik Jong-won, known for his appearance on Netflix's Culinarily Class War. This spot is a vibrant destination for late night Korean comfort food and social gatherings. The interior features a hip, trendy, and contemporary atmosphere with k-pop music and modern decor. It's a lively, sometimes loud, environment popular with younger crowds and groups. Service is quick, cheerful, and accommodating. Popular dishes include the Spicy Chicken Feet (Dakbal), Pork Mozzarella Cheese Fondue, DIY Rice Balls, and Korean Fried Chicken. We like their Tteokbokki, Spam Kimchi Pancake and Kimchi Fried Rice. Everything we've tried was savory and flavorful. Free parking in a shared plaza lot with somewhat tight, limited parking.

We stopped by Rowland Heights on our way home from LAX and stumbled upon Hanshin Pocha off of Gale and Nogales, just north of the 60 freeway. There are plenty of eats in the area and we thought this would satisfy our hunger for something hot and satiable - and open late night! After perusing their menu, I was drawn to the steamed egg and, likewise, the rest of our party wanted the same thing. We were only a party of 5 (4 adults + 1 child) so we thought we would order 2 of the steamed eggs and a couple other items. When we placed our order, the server questioned us why we ordered 3 and asked, "Are you sure?" We said, "Yes." After bringing out all our orders, we understood why the server asked his question; the steamed egg dish was a huge portion!!! Whoa! It was really good especially since it was cold outside. We also ordered other items to share like their chicken wings, calamari, and fries with chicken for the child in our party. Parking can be tricky even in the late hours. Overall, we enjoyed the food and the vibe here. It's casual, a little loud, but we were all comfortable and enjoyed the ambiance.

    Chicken feet

Missed this vibe, just having casual drinks with friends with Korean bar food so I took my parents instead. I only started eating chicken feet few years ago, I was a little skeptical at first but fell in love with them when I discovered the spicy chicken feet! I used to LOVE the ones at DAN SUNG SA in ktown but those were hard to eat because they were grilled and the meat was extremely hard to get from it. Hanshin's spicy chicken feet with soup is great! They also give you or now you need to order the side of rice balls but they do give you bean sprout soup to help ease the spiciness. We also got the gizzard and the whole squid and both were great! It was good to see that my parents enjoyed all 3 items hehe Service was a bit slow but they did look very understaffed. They were friendly though!

    Beef belly Tteokbokki

Was craving Korean fried chicken and Tteokbokki so we decided to check this place out. We ordered their Beef belly tokbokki - spice level was just right, the beef belly gave it a deeper flavor although the meat could be a little bit more tender. 4 stars Chili and garlic chicken - fried whole chicken pieces doused in sweet chili and garlic sauce. Flavor is good, I am missing the crunch from the fried chicken. 3.5 stars Boneless fried chicken and fries - fries were hot and crispy, the chicken was not. This would be a great choice for those who enjoy mild tasting food. 3 stars Pork and chive pancake - the pork pieces were seasoned well and tasted great with the chives. My personal preference would be for the pancake to be a little crispier. 4 stars It's a casual dining place with many tables and chairs good for small and big groups alike. Service was prompt and attentive, even though our server was working the dining area and cashier station by himself. Parking can be an issue because of the many establishments in the plaza. Overall 3.5 stars rounded off to 4 for good service.

Spicy Pork n Cheese with DIY Rice Balls

Always a good time drinkin here with my homie. They have a sick special where a soju + beer combo will getchu another beer! We ordered the Spicy Pork n Cheese with DIY Rice Balls which was not only decadent and delicious, but it will also easily fill you up. Service was solid. Waitress met our needs quickly and checked in just the right amount of times to let us yap away. Our environment looks like any bar restaurant youd find in Korea and I particularly like the barrel seats they have it's sick haha. Maybe a lil more dim or neon lighting instead of overhead would make it perfect. Cant wait to come back for the next drink

I went to hanshin pocha quite a while ago. As with going to any shop or restaurant in this complex, the parking is a nightmare but if you go at the right times you shouldn't have too difficult of a time. We ordered so much food for 4 people, but my favorite was the gyeran mari / rolled egg! It was huge!! And it was so good. We also got fried rice, meat pancake, squid, and fried chicken. I thought the rest of the food was good too, but not amazing. I could go back for it if I'm in the mood for this kind of food.

Korean street food is absolutely amazing! Service is excellent! Ambiance is superb! Parking is a pain though! If you come with a party of 8 or more, get ready to pay about $240.00 total, plus tips.

Located off Gale Ave in Rowland Heights. Parking is shared with the other businesses in the plaza. Parking is a bit tight and not easily to maneuver around. The place is not big but it is opened pretty late. Some of us came here to hang out, catch up and drink after dinner at Tokyo Lobby since they closed at 9:30pm. They also had some food selections as well. The service was good and the staff were good. Overall a good experience here and some good Soju and beer. I only had the soju but my frat bros pounded down the beers and soju lol.

Visited on a Saturday and it surprisingly wasn't very busy. The server was welcoming and friendly. They played K-pop music and had a projector showing the mv. They also have plenty of large tables for bigger groups. The parking lot can get crowded at times. We ordered three dishes, and it took about 30 minutes before everything arrived at the table. The food was your basic Korean dishes.

    Sarah Y.

We got the DIY rice ball, grilled whole squid, and the chicken with grilled onion. The rice ball and grilled squid was good and tasted as expected. I think we interpreted the menu picture wrong for the chicken as we were expecting it to be crispier with grilled onion but it was more of a grilled/stir fry chicken dish. I am not sure if it was due to the method of cooking, but the chicken dish was a bit more dry than we had preferred. Overall, the food was decent and service was not bad.

    DiamondLee R.

The food was actually good. This is actually a good Korean chicken spot. The spiciness of both meals were great. They both have their own flavoring The radishes were a must and a plus Free! The salad is weird though. I think they use ketchup on it. The shrimp were delicious.. i'm actually surprised that the food stood warm and juicy the whole time we were there.

We decided to split both dishes, and the portions ended up being pretty large for the price. We were full and still managed to have leftovers to take home afterward. Overall, the food was filling, seasoned well, and well portioned without being overly expensive. The only downside was that our waters were never refilled during the meal, although it honestly looked like there was only one server working at the time. Great place to get some hearty stew on a cold day, during lunch or dinner. Super generous portions and definitely enough to take home for later as well. Restaurant is quite spacious and with lots of booth seating, but I can only imagine how busy it could potentially get. There's plenty of parking in the plaza since the 2 main stores/market chains are now closed. For our visit we got a medium gamja jeon-gol, which is their spicy pork bone soup with potatoes. There's a slight heat to it, but not super spicy as I was with some Cantonese people who can't handle spiciness, so they had it at mild. Still a rich umami taste with flavor to it. Pork is moist and plentiful and so are the potatoes. There's also lots of greens and I think, leeks in the stew. Lots of banchan to snack on too and all of us got a small bowl of purple rice as well (my favorite!) About 1/3 of the way through, we packaged most of the stew to go and we had our complimentary fried rice which is made inside the same pot as the stew, absorbing the delicious stew flavor. There's nori seaweed strips and sesame seeds added in for taste and flavor too. Good stuff. I'm, unfortunately, not a fan of picking meat off the bone so this was kinda hard when the soup was still boiling hot, but other than that, delicious.
