I thought I would update my review from before since it's been a few years and am sad to report that it has gone downhill. I know times may be tough, but yikes! BROILED SALMON & MIXED TEMPURA BENTO BOX: I ordered this to go and it came with a scoop of rice, 4 spicy tuna cut rolls (used to be 6), a small clump of salad, tempura (came without the tempura sauce), miso soup, and the saddest/hardest clump of fried/broiled salmon (came with side of teriyaki sauce). The portion has SIGNIFICANTLY shrunk especially for the salmon. The salmon was basically the size of the sauce dish container...I finished it in 2-3 bites. Dont miss it by pulling into the market plaza, but im sure you may park there. The place is small and not too busy when i visited. They offer a physical menu with limited selections, along with a QR code on the wall to scan that includes additional dishes. Before we even ordered, they quickly brought out complimentary salad, miso soup, and steamed edamame. What a nice surprise! Uni Rice Bowl was listed as market price but was very reasonably priced . It had about 4-5 pieces of uni, served in a very presentable sea urchin shell. It was light and very good. I can never pass up uni when it's on the menu! We also ordered some rolls, a variety of sushi , and toro sashimi. They do prepare sushi with a lot of rice, but I loved that they generously portion with large pieces of fish along with it. I've been coming to this gem for over 20 years! The lady owner is always incredibly welcoming and hospitable. Even with inflation hitting hard lately, you can still feel their sincerity in every dish. The portions are huge, and the sashimi is sliced generously thick! What touched us the most was when we mentioned how much we loved the tea, the owner immediately gave us a bunch of roasted rice (Genmai) so we could brew it ourselves! Slow service but otherwise good. Parking is very small but doable. Went during lunch and got a lunch box special which includes ice cream. I got the chicken one and it was a bit dry. Side dishes, on the other hand, were absolutely amazing! I'd say this is a decent lunch spot. read more

Great quality sushi in a friendly mom and pop restaurant! The restaurant itself is very cozy, limited seating but luckily on a Tuesday evening, there was no wait. Small private parking lot adjacent to the restaurant was convenient! The meal starts with complimentary salad, miso soup, and edamame. These were a nice surprise! We then went on to the fried calamari and baked mussels. Calarami was nice and perfectly crispy with a drizzle of a sweet sauce, it was perfect to share amongst three people. The baked mussels were amazing!! Topped with cheese, a sweet and savory sauce, the mussels were juicy boys and definitely got us excited for our main sushi entrees! We went with the albacore roll, spicy tuna roll, eel sashimi, salmon roe sashimi, dragon roll, and yellow tail sashimi. Initial impressions - great presentation, and came out relatively quick! The sashimi was FRESH, and the perfect amount of rice. I dislike when there's any more than a pinch of rice and Mansun did the portions just right! The salmon roe was a generous portion, and with each bite, they popped heavenly in my mouth. The rolls were meticulously made as well and tasted amazing! For the three of us, I think we did well with the portions and by the end, felt quite satisfied... This is when the waitress offered complimentary ice cream! How could we say no...so we all decided on the green tea ice cream. It wasn't too sweet, and was the story book ending to our meal. They do offer bento box style meals with tempura as lunch and dinner specials as well, so in the future I'd absolutely like to try these out! Overall, highly recommend and will definitely be back. I can't believe I've been driving by this place for years without stopping in--what a hidden gem! The food here is absolutely amazing and unbelievably fresh. The fish quality blew me away--so high-grade, so clean-tasting, and not fishy at all. I was genuinely surprised at just how good everything was. I tried the sea urchin bowl, which was insanely fresh and flavorful, and the lunch special teriyaki chicken with tempura--the portions were very generous and satisfying. I also ordered the sushi lunch special, and honestly, the fish quality was mind-blowing. It felt like something you'd expect at a high-end sushi spot, not a casual place you just stumble into. On top of the food, the service was excellent. The owner is so kind and welcoming, and they even give out free ice cream at the end, which was such a nice touch. My go to spot for sushi in the Diamond Bar area! In my opinion they have the best combination of quality, price, and service. The owner/lady in charge is super nice and provides great recommendations, and the sides come quickly when you sit down. Our family hasn't been here in a while. One Saturday, we decided to take a break from cooking and placed an online order. Glad to see that they were still consistently good even for to-go orders. Their online ordering system was powered by ChowNow and was very easy to use. Since our order was for a pretty early pick-up, the restaurant was still pretty empty when we arrived. Came here with my buds tonight to grab some early dinner and we got an assortment of sides along with our main course. We ordered the large Sashimi platter which included tuna, salmon, sea bass, halibut, octopus, salad, edamame & ice cream. We got some many banchan dishes to go with it that our table was so full. We also got a freshly cut uni bowl which was very nice and I totally enjoyed that dish. Before I forget you get a side of edamame with your checkin on the Yelp app. With our order we got shrimp & vegetable tempura which was very good as it wasn't overly battered and it was good tasting. We got a side of soft shell crab I failed to take picture of but it was freshly made and tasty. We got oyster shooters which we all took a shot. We got some grilled little saury fish and grilled shrimp. The grilled salmon head was really good tasting. Service was top notch and ambiance was good. This place is a bit hard to spot but we ended up parking at the farmer's market lot and walking a few steps over. Our family sat in a private area room where everything was already set up too. The lady who took care of us (I'm assuming is the owner) was very sweet and patient. She even offered a few items as complimentary. All of our food items were brought out extremely quick! Sashimi Platter- It was very fresh and filling! They had no fishy scent or after taste. This can easily accommodate for 4 people. Shrimp and Mixed Veggie Tempura- This came out hot and crispy! Very delicious with the dipping sauce. Soba noodles- This was a refreshing appetizer with a little kick of spicy. eel Rice Bowl- So so good!!! The pieces were very rich and flavorful. Even though the bowl looked small, it could definitely be shared between 2 people. Lobster Seafood Pot- They gave this by using the lobster head from the plate to make the soup. Since it was a cold night, this warmed us up! Mansun Boat- This was by far the most eye catching dish! Very delicious! All the fish serves were fresh and made beautifully. We had 11 people and we barely finished this on top of the other dishes. Udon- The soup was warm with the right amount of flavor! It came with tempura, the fried tofu, and fish cake. This also came with pieces of tuna rolls on the side. Salmon Kama- This was salmon collar and they grilled it nicely. It was very filling and pairs well with rice! Katsu- Crispy and tender! My party order the sushi boat, and it was enough to feed nine people to a decent degree, but there was still room in our stomachs afterwards. Just a funny detail, but the sushi "boat" that we got was actually a sushi bridge. I think that this restaurant is Korean owned since you get the Korean dining experience of all the appetizers and dishes that come before the main meal. It reminds me of the banchan that you get at Korean tofu soup places. We also ordered several uni bowls - as a tip, this is a rare commodity, so if they do not have uni, they will limit the amount you can order. For the market price we paid, the uni bowls were a little lacking especially in how much uni was provided. However, the rice in the bowl was pretty warm and delicious! We came for a birthday, and the server was extremely sweet which is why I bumped my review up to five stars! The service here was fantastic, as she provided some happy birthday glasses, a plastic cake for celebration, and several complimentary drinks on the house!
