Broiled Salmon & Mixed Tempura Bento.
    Tiffany L.

I thought I would update my review from before since it's been a few years and am sad to report that it has gone downhill. I know times may be tough, but yikes! BROILED SALMON & MIXED TEMPURA BENTO BOX: I ordered this to go and it came with a scoop of rice, 4 spicy tuna cut rolls (used to be 6), a small clump of salad, tempura (came without the tempura sauce), miso soup, and the saddest/hardest clump of fried/broiled salmon (came with side of teriyaki sauce). The portion has SIGNIFICANTLY shrunk especially for the salmon. The salmon was basically the size of the sauce dish container...I finished it in 2-3 bites. Due to this, I will sadly not be returning.

The restaurant is located along the side of the street. I was able to find parking on the street right in front of the entrance. Dont miss it by pulling into the market plaza, but im sure you may park there. The place is small and not too busy when i visited. They offer a physical menu with limited selections, along with a QR code on the wall to scan that includes additional dishes. Before we even ordered, they quickly brought out complimentary salad, miso soup, and steamed edamame. What a nice surprise! Uni Rice Bowl was listed as market price but was very reasonably priced . It had about 4-5 pieces of uni, served in a very presentable sea urchin shell. It was light and very good. I can never pass up uni when it's on the menu! We also ordered some rolls, a variety of sushi , and toro sashimi. They do prepare sushi with a lot of rice, but I loved that they generously portion with large pieces of fish along with it. The fish was fresh and were great quality. Oh and free yummy green tea icecream to end our meal too!

Slow service but otherwise good. Parking is very small but doable. Went during lunch and got a lunch box special which includes ice cream. I got the chicken one and it was a bit dry. Side dishes, on the other hand, were absolutely amazing! I'd say this is a decent lunch spot.

I love this place, the woman who works here is so friendly and nice. Me and my family came here for a birthday and they made it really special. The sea urchin bowl is really good and unique. The sushi boat as well. And the lobster seafood hotpot. It is casual but I think because of the staff it is special. Would recommend!

Great quality sushi in a friendly mom and pop restaurant! The restaurant itself is very cozy, limited seating but luckily on a Tuesday evening, there was no wait. Small private parking lot adjacent to the restaurant was convenient! The meal starts with complimentary salad, miso soup, and edamame. These were a nice surprise! We then went on to the fried calamari and baked mussels. Calarami was nice and perfectly crispy with a drizzle of a sweet sauce, it was perfect to share amongst three people. The baked mussels were amazing!! Topped with cheese, a sweet and savory sauce, the mussels were juicy boys and definitely got us excited for our main sushi entrees! We went with the albacore roll, spicy tuna roll, eel sashimi, salmon roe sashimi, dragon roll, and yellow tail sashimi. Initial impressions - great presentation, and came out relatively quick! The sashimi was FRESH, and the perfect amount of rice. I dislike when there's any more than a pinch of rice and Mansun did the portions just right! The salmon roe was a generous portion, and with each bite, they popped heavenly in my mouth. The rolls were meticulously made as well and tasted amazing! For the three of us, I think we did well with the portions and by the end, felt quite satisfied... This is when the waitress offered complimentary ice cream! How could we say no...so we all decided on the green tea ice cream. It wasn't too sweet, and was the story book ending to our meal. They do offer bento box style meals with tempura as lunch and dinner specials as well, so in the future I'd absolutely like to try these out! Overall, highly recommend and will definitely be back. Don't let the unassuming exterior appearance of the plaza dissuade you from giving Mansun a try!

I can't believe I've been driving by this place for years without stopping in--what a hidden gem! The food here is absolutely amazing and unbelievably fresh. The fish quality blew me away--so high-grade, so clean-tasting, and not fishy at all. I was genuinely surprised at just how good everything was. I tried the sea urchin bowl, which was insanely fresh and flavorful, and the lunch special teriyaki chicken with tempura--the portions were very generous and satisfying. I also ordered the sushi lunch special, and honestly, the fish quality was mind-blowing. It felt like something you'd expect at a high-end sushi spot, not a casual place you just stumble into. On top of the food, the service was excellent. The owner is so kind and welcoming, and they even give out free ice cream at the end, which was such a nice touch. It really feels good supporting a local small business when the experience is this good. (5/5) -- Fresh, delicious, generous portions, and amazing service. I'll definitely be coming back again and again.

This place was amazing. Our server was very quick and sweet. As teens we normally don't expect such great service but everyone in the restaurant had positive energy and was very efficient. Along with this the food was great.

Ordered to-go around 11:40 a.m. on Sunday. Food came out fast and was nicely packed. Few sea urchin spines were mixed into the rice, which was a little disappointing, but everything else was fine. Side dishes were light and tasty. Regular size was $33 (large $44 with tax). I'll probably go for the large next time--it was better on my last visit.

The food is always so good here! The sashimi is fresh and the uni bowl was soo flavorful and yummy. I came with my boyfriend and the sushi chef was sweet and made us the most adorable swan couple out of an apple. The owner is a nice Korean lady who has the nicest smile. Service is 10/10 and the food is also a 10/10! I highly recommend this place especially if you like uni!

My go to spot for sushi in the Diamond Bar area! In my opinion they have the best combination of quality, price, and service. The owner/lady in charge is super nice and provides great recommendations, and the sides come quickly when you sit down. One of my favorite things about this place is the Banchan they provide since it's Korean owned. The place itself is small and cozy and really never too crowded so you can get seated quickly. Great place for casual dinners as well as celebrations (love their sushi boat, it's a great deal)

The food is fresh and large portion. The service staff is friendly and gave us great recommendation. There were five of us and we have our room.

Huge thank you to Yumi, who was an absolute angel and made us feel so welcome (like we were her grandchildren and wanted us to stay). The food was genuinely great quality and the portions were way more filling than expected. At first, I thought we hadn't ordered enough and i was mentally prepared to order more... but by the end, we were so full. Truly a lovely experience. They also give you complimentary edamame and cucumber salad, which was such a nice little bonus before the main event. One of my friends ordered the chirashi bowl and it looked like a bouquet of all kinds of fish. We also got the chef's assorted sashimi (amazing assortment) the ankimo special (SO good), and the 4 piece hand roll special (could probably skip this one and save stomach space). For nigiri, we ordered uni, toro, tai, and yellowtail (all amazing.) The uni was especially creamy and delicious. The salmon belly was mesmerizing, the yellowtail belly melts in your mouth and did I mention the ankimo? We also ordered a fish only tempura, and they even gave us our own tempura dipping sauce. It's the small details like that that really make a difference. 10/10, come hungry, leave very full and slightly emotionally attached.

I still enjoyed my meal and the service was very friendly and attentive with my water getting refilled several times. The fried food was nice and lightly crispy. The salmon collar was tender and a large piece. The baked lobster roll was too sweet with too much mayo. The sashimi and California rolls left a lot to be desired. Maybe it's because these are just the items that came included in a combo, and maybe it's because I didn't order the right things...but I wasn't too impressed given all the reviews about how this is the best Japanese food that needs to be discovered. This time, I tried the omurice, which is egg-wrapped, curry-flavored rice and chicken with your choice of sauce. I chose their curry, which I've always enjoyed. This also came with your choice of corn or miso soup and a salad. I also ordered a side topping of sautéed chicken as I was especially hungry that morning. The omelet wrapping the rice was nicely fluffy with a deliciously subtle blend of savory and sweet flavors. I enjoyed the diverse spices from the curry-flavored rice. With small chunks of chicken, the dish was slightly more filling. I wish there was just a little more curry portioned out. The sautéed chicken on the side was delicious and reminded me of times I enjoyed pan-fried steak dishes from Hong Kong cafes. Interestingly, the omurice came with seasoned fries and steamed carrots and green beans a slight touch of American cuisine). Overall, it was delicious combining all the flavors from the curry, rice, omelet, and sautéed chicken into one bite. Service was good. All our dishes had a nice and careful presentation. Filled with typical things like shrimp tempura, egg, and fish cake, it wasn't anything extraordinary. 2) Curry with Hamburg steak: 6/10 I can see the hype about this curry. It was a tad spicy for me but it was packed with so much flavor. The curry was super filling but the Hamburg steak wasn't as soft as I would have liked. Tasted better than a regular beef patty you can get at In N out but I had expected to be more juicy and tender. After halfway, the curry was starting to feel overwhelming because of how thick it was, plus the addition of white rice. I also appreciated how this meal came with corn soup so pretty good for the price. I would visit again and try some other things on their menu.
