Slow service but otherwise good. Parking is very small but doable. Went during lunch and got a lunch box special which includes ice cream. I got the chicken one and it was a bit dry. Side dishes, on the other hand, were absolutely amazing! I'd say this is a decent lunch spot.
I've been coming to this gem for over 20 years! The lady owner is always incredibly welcoming and hospitable. Even with inflation hitting hard lately, you can still feel their sincerity in every dish. The portions are huge, and the sashimi is sliced generously thick! What touched us the most was when we mentioned how much we loved the tea, the owner immediately gave us a bunch of roasted rice (Genmai) so we could brew it ourselves! The interior is always cozy and spotless. It's rare to find a place that maintains this level of quality and warmth for decades. Highly recommended!
Great quality sushi in a friendly mom and pop restaurant! The restaurant itself is very cozy, limited seating but luckily on a Tuesday evening, there was no wait. Small private parking lot adjacent to the restaurant was convenient! The meal starts with complimentary salad, miso soup, and edamame. These were a nice surprise! We then went on to the fried calamari and baked mussels. Calarami was nice and perfectly crispy with a drizzle of a sweet sauce, it was perfect to share amongst three people. The baked mussels were amazing!! Topped with cheese, a sweet and savory sauce, the mussels were juicy boys and definitely got us excited for our main sushi entrees! We went with the albacore roll, spicy tuna roll, eel sashimi, salmon roe sashimi, dragon roll, and yellow tail sashimi. Initial impressions - great presentation, and came out relatively quick! The sashimi was FRESH, and the perfect amount of rice. I dislike when there's any more than a pinch of rice and Mansun did the portions just right! The salmon roe was a generous portion, and with each bite, they popped heavenly in my mouth. The rolls were meticulously made as well and tasted amazing! For the three of us, I think we did well with the portions and by the end, felt quite satisfied... This is when the waitress offered complimentary ice cream! How could we say no...so we all decided on the green tea ice cream. It wasn't too sweet, and was the story book ending to our meal. They do offer bento box style meals with tempura as lunch and dinner specials as well, so in the future I'd absolutely like to try these out! Overall, highly recommend and will definitely be back. Don't let the unassuming exterior appearance of the plaza dissuade you from giving Mansun a try!
I love this place, the woman who works here is so friendly and nice. Me and my family came here for a birthday and they made it really special. The sea urchin bowl is really good and unique. The sushi boat as well. And the lobster seafood hotpot. It is casual but I think because of the staff it is special. Would recommend!
I can't believe I've been driving by this place for years without stopping in--what a hidden gem! The food here is absolutely amazing and unbelievably fresh. The fish quality blew me away--so high-grade, so clean-tasting, and not fishy at all. I was genuinely surprised at just how good everything was. I tried the sea urchin bowl, which was insanely fresh and flavorful, and the lunch special teriyaki chicken with tempura--the portions were very generous and satisfying. I also ordered the sushi lunch special, and honestly, the fish quality was mind-blowing. It felt like something you'd expect at a high-end sushi spot, not a casual place you just stumble into. On top of the food, the service was excellent. The owner is so kind and welcoming, and they even give out free ice cream at the end, which was such a nice touch. It really feels good supporting a local small business when the experience is this good. (5/5) -- Fresh, delicious, generous portions, and amazing service. I'll definitely be coming back again and again.
Ordered to-go around 11:40 a.m. on Sunday. Food came out fast and was nicely packed. Few sea urchin spines were mixed into the rice, which was a little disappointing, but everything else was fine. Side dishes were light and tasty. Regular size was $33 (large $44 with tax). I'll probably go for the large next time--it was better on my last visit.
My go to spot for sushi in the Diamond Bar area! In my opinion they have the best combination of quality, price, and service. The owner/lady in charge is super nice and provides great recommendations, and the sides come quickly when you sit down. One of my favorite things about this place is the Banchan they provide since it's Korean owned. The place itself is small and cozy and really never too crowded so you can get seated quickly. Great place for casual dinners as well as celebrations (love their sushi boat, it's a great deal)
Esther was an amazing server for my friends bday dinner! The food was so good , she was so friendly and funny. Made us feel like family! We had a private room that was great for an intimate bday setting.
The food is always so good here! The sashimi is fresh and the uni bowl was soo flavorful and yummy. I came with my boyfriend and the sushi chef was sweet and made us the most adorable swan couple out of an apple. The owner is a nice Korean lady who has the nicest smile. Service is 10/10 and the food is also a 10/10! I highly recommend this place especially if you like uni!

This place was amazing. Our server was very quick and sweet. As teens we normally don't expect such great service but everyone in the restaurant had positive energy and was very efficient. Along with this the food was great.
The food is fresh and large portion. The service staff is friendly and gave us great recommendation. There were five of us and we have our room.

Come to this place to have this restaurant's 엄마 to come serve you a delicious meal. She's the server, waitress, hostess and all around help here. She recommended the $70 per person Mansun special combo sea sushi plate and this dinner did not disappoint. We originally wanted just 1 order of this sushi plate, but you have to order a minimum of 2. Plenty of food for 2 people and we even had a little left over. Everything you see in the attached photos were included. Loved the fresh sashi lobster and at the end they take the head & claws and turn it into a soup. So comforting after a huge meal. Parking was easy. Came here around 5:30pm and was able to get a seat right away. Sushi cuts were generous and fresh. Highly recommend this place. read more

This is the best Japanese restaurant I've ever been to. The food is super fresh, the service is really fast and friendly. I go here on days when I'm craving sashimi or sushi, and on days when I'm craving sea urchin rice. I also recommend this restaurant on days when I have a gathering with friends. Always amazing service here. I stopped by after work to pick up dinner and the quality / quantity were both great- the owner who was packing my order gave me two sea urchins because she said they were on the smaller size today which I appreciate and it shows how fresh their product is. I also got a Philadelphia roll which weirdly only had crab inside, no cream cheese or avocado which makes me think I got the wrong roll but still tasted good. On the side she also included edamame, banchan, and miso soup which were all tasty. I never regret coming here and will definitely be back! read more

We called in to ask about the $70 per person special, and came in for my birthday. The sashimi was very fresh, and the portion was even a bit overwhelming for us, so we had some to take home! The lobster soup at the end was a nice palette cleanser as well, very savory and comforting. Would recommend for someone looking for a full course meal! read more

We loved everything we ate here. The we had the $70 per person sushi and it comes with lots of banchan, we were almost full just eating what's come beforehand. The sushi is so very fresh and the uni bowl is to die for. Highly recommend. It's on the pricier side but worth the trip if you are into good fish. You can also order a la carte and it's cheaper than most Japanese restaurants. read more

Such a great hole in the wall restaurant. I think the greatest compliment I can give is that this is the type of place that I would want to be a regular at. I went there solo three times on my work trip and sat at the sushi bar and I'd encourage anyone to go in, get a sushi roll, and strike up a conversation with the staff! They're super friendly and will chat back and forth as they have time. The three dishes I had were the ManSun Special, several sushi rolls, and the Chirashi. Everything was great and the portions were plenty - especially the ManSun special which came with a handful of Korean sides that I wasn't expecting - So be hungry if you order that! The fish was fresh - especially the Halibut which they have on hand (they also have a lobster tank). Overall - I encourage anyone to stop by, I'll be stopping by again when I'm back in town! read more

Already came here for several times. Nice sashimi, chill environment. The servicer was always friendly. We ordered the man sun boat. It was very good and beautifully presented. Overall, I highly recommend Mansun for anyone craving for sushi. read more
Don't let the beautiful presentation fool you. Invited a few friends for dinner because I saw their amazing looking uni bowl and regret everytime I see the pictures in the phone since then. Service was okay, we were greeted and was given some banchan (small appetizer) for the table. Ordered the Man Sun Dinner Special and the Uni Bowl. The sushi and sashimi were not thawed correctly and was still freezing cold when was served to the table. It was so horrible that a discounted sushi package from the supermarket would've tasted better. The uni bowl was pretty, but when I looked at it again, I couldn't help but asked "Where is the uni"? It was literally a uni shell packed with HOT rice (yes.. Steaming Hot Rice), 2 tiny pieces of uni, octopus, roe and seaweed. For what was served in the bowl, it was ridiculous that they charged $30 for it. And to make matter worse, steaming hot rice made it extra disgusting. Tempura was okay, but was not good enough for me to give it a 2 star rating. I understand this is a cheap sushi fix option, but they really need to step up on the quality being served. So disgusted with my meal that I would NEVER return to this restaurant. Sorry, but this is definitely going on my NO-GO list. read more

The Bento box lunch specials are the best deal at this restaurant. For $13.99, you get a huge portion of a selected entree, rice, 4 sushi pieces, and a very generous portion of freshly fried tempura of vegetables. I had chicken teriyaki Bento Box today. The chicken unfortunately was a bit over-cooked. I will try a different meat next time. Others at the table had salmon Bento box, spicy fish soup, fish-roe and uni rice bowl. All were tasty. The lunch specials included also a dessert, so we were served a scoop of strawberry ice-cream. I did feel very thirsty after leaving the restaurant so I will ask for less MSG the next time. read more

Pros: the side dishes and the sushi were delicious and the fish was pretty freshly made for us! The tea is really good too. They usually give you a roasted tea. The spicy tiger sushi roll was yummy and had a spicy kick to it and the tempura shrimp roll was worth it. Cons: it's in a super tiny parking lot. You most likely have to park on the street. read more

Come here for lunch special!! It's so goodddd and very reasonable prices! I got the Sashimi soba bowl and it comes with side dishes, miso soup on the side and green tea ice cream afterwards. Trust me you won't regret it! The portion size is huge and flavor is delicious. We also got the tempura udon bowl as well and soup and noodles were very good. The owners are very friendly and extremely accommodating. The inside is also very clean and there is plenty of parking in the lot. read more
My family has been coming here for birthday dinners for almost 8 years. Luckily, this place is delicious enough that it was able to survive the pandemic, even as businesses in the area started closing. FOOD I can't speak for anything but the sushi and the soup, as that's what my family always orders. We always get the largest sushi boat and maybe a smaller one depending on how hungry we are and the size. The price is great and we always have leftovers. Since it's Korean-owned, they throw in side dishes at the beginning. My favorite is the sea urchin rice. Admittedly, it has some off days depending on the quality of the sea urchin. The last time I went, it wasn't great. All the other times have been good though so it might've just been an off day. SERVICE Sushi isn't hard to get in this area. What brings us back is the service. The owners are incredibly nice and very generous. At times, we'd come in for birthdays and they would give us free dishes. The last time we were here, everyone was buzzing about the lottery and we went to the liquor store next door to fill out lottery numbers. The hostess saw us and struck a conversation with us about the lottery. She came back with 2 free meat dishes (can't remember which one) and a noodle dish. Then she joked about remembering her generosity when we win the lottery. They've always been very generous with exceptional service. We're checked on often and water is always refilled! PARKING If there is one downside to this place it would be parking. We've always been lucky with street parking but it's not ideal. read more

We came here to celebrate Father's Day with my family. We ordered the X-large combo and a lobster roll. The combo included a large sashimi platter, sea urchin rice bowl (2), oyster shooters (my favorite), lobster soup, side dishes, and ice cream. With tip, the dinner came to around $240, which I think is reasonable considering the amount of food we got. We were only halfway through the dishes and already feeling stuffed. The large combo would have been the perfect amount for us. The owner was also incredibly sweet and friendly, and the service was excellent. A repeat for sure. read more

My dad's friend lives around the area and brought our family here for a little celebration. I believe we got the some large set for the entire table and also extra uni bowl. It was so much food and everything was delicious! We enjoyed all the side dishes that came with the sets. Fish collar, sashimi salad, fried fish, korean style steam egg. Overall it was great for our group! We were able to get the private dining on the side as well which I recommend reserving Need to come back and try again! read more
