It was an okay meal. I'm not a big sandwich guy and that's what they had the majority of here. I went with the Kalbi Curry Bowl but had to do a lot of altering to get it how I liked it--without the coleslaw and without the kimchi. Otherwise, it was a good bowl--a bit overpriced for just meat, rice, and sauce but what are you going to do? The service was nice enough and the place is pretty spiff looking with a lot of space. I am also kind of a katsu snob and I adore the thicker cuts of Japanese katsu (Korean katsu has its place in my heart though!), and that is exactly what Mr. Katsu serves up! I recently had the pleasure of visiting Mr. Katsu, and it did not disappoint! The quality of the food was top tier, and the portions sizes were SO HUGE! Something noteworthy is that they have not raised their prices since 2020, making it the BEST DEAL in all of SoCal. Everything is also made in house so you know the quality and thoughtfulness is there in each dish. I was able to try the curry katsu sandwich which was soooo yummy! I have been in Japan several times and I love the variety of sandwiches over there. My score is lower because of the online ordering system provided by Yelp, Yelp do high overcharges to the food for pickup and provide no value and justification for them. I order for pickup, ie: a $12 sandwich cost $15 when ordering thru Yelp, it is 25% more just for ordering for pickup. The surcharge doesn't exist if you call the place directly or order directly at the restaurant. I am very disappointed that Yelp is abusing the community they are supposed to be supporting so avoid at all cost using the Yelp ordering system. It was my first time coming here. We ordered three bowls, French fries and potato puffs to go. While I was waiting for our food, I watched the lady behind the counter throw two of our orders in the microwave, still in the plastic to go containers.
