It was our first time doing the full tea service here. I've been a huge fan of their cakes previously and wanted to come here for Mother's Day tea with my mom and my 4 year old. The decor is absolutely beautiful. It feels very special, unique and fancy. My daughter was so happy to be at a "real" tea party! We had the ginger peach, vanilla caramel, and strawberry shortcake. The vanilla caramel was THE BEST! All of the sandwiches were really good but the bread of the roast beef really made it shine. All of the petite desserts were delicious as well. There was plenty of food for the three of us to share, I paid for the split charge for my daughter since I figured she wouldn't eat all those sandwiches to herself. There was a little hiccup with our reservation. I booked it for 3 and added in the comments that my daughter would be sharing and we would pay the split fee. The week before I received a notification that our reservation had been changed to 2. I called the restaurant and spoke with someone who assured me that our reservation was still for 3, but that they changed it to 2 so they wouldn't make the food tower for 3. Well upon arrival to our reservation the girls at the front said our reservation was only for 2 and that they had only a table set for 2. They went and spoke with someone in the back and then said they would add a small chair to the 2 top. I pushed back and said that I didn't want to cram the three tea pots and settings into a tiny table and they eventually moved some things around to give us a table for 3. The other thing is that once everything was dropped off the server disappeared! We didn't see her again until I went to the front to ask for my check. We were completely out of tea water for a while and then I saw a young man refilling another table and I was able to ask him to refill ours. The table next to us grabbed him as well. I also would have loved to ask someone for a regular glass of water but no one was around. I will say when our server dropped off our tower she did offer to take a picture of us which was very thoughtful. This has been the best high tea that I've been to. It's super cute and very pink. A little too pink but that the aesthetic. I got the mango and peach tea. It was really good. They come around to add more hot water to your tea. I enjoyed the egg sandwich the best. The chicken one was a bit dry. The croissant sandwich was roast beef and had truffle in it which I don't like. I wish I could have gotten the caprese like my vegetarian friend. Since she is vegetarian she got 2 of the egg salad and 2 of the cucumber and cream cheese. Been seeing so many posts about Sip & Sugar, so I finally stopped as it's in a plaza (hard to find) in Anaheim Hills location -- and I'm so glad I did! The decor are absolutely adorable, and the service was so warm and welcoming. You can really feel the intention (girlfriend hangout with class vibes) behind the space -- it's such a cute, girly spot to hangout and enjoy tea with your girlfriends. My only little complaint is that the place is on the smaller side. Our table was right by the entrance, so there were moments when people bumped into us coming in and out, or manuring to their table, which took away a bit from that calm, relaxed tea vibe we were hoping for. :(( The sandwiches and tea tower is as expected...and the centerpiece of the afternoon tea experience!! We opted for the Royal Tea Experience, which comes with 2 pots of tea, 5 assorted tea sandwiches, 2 scones, and a trio of sweets. For a small charge, you could add edible glitter to your tea, which of course, I did. The sandwiches were typical of most high teas -- cucumber with cream cheese, egg salad, chicken salad, turkey and roast beef. They weee tasty. The scones were also very good. It is decorated in lots of pink, they even have pink sugar cubes and pink heart shaped sugar "cubes." They have lots of floral decor and it's very pretty and kept neat. We were a group of loud giggly girls and were probably a nuisance to have but they were so sweet. The tea place is located in an older plaza, slightly rundown and need a facelift so I wasn't too sure what I was walking into. I think it's ok for a casual place, but definitely should get some interior design help to get it more up to date. The table has honey and the cutest heart shaped sugars to put in your tea. While I enjoyed the sandwiches and scones, the desserts were just ok, and the tea was average. On the way to the restroom, I saw the tea settings, and tea making area on the shelves. They have boxes of teabags that you can buy from the market, as well as some loose leaf teas, so depending on what tea you get, you could be drinking the same tea you can buy from your local Vons (ie Stash) They have a dessert case with a variety of cupcakes and macarons, as well as various breakfast pastries that I just had to try: Guava Cheese pop tart, cinnamon roll, almond croissant, and chocolate croissant. They were all amazing, I especially liked the chocolate croissant, it was chock full of chocolate, very different than the ones I get from the French bakeries with a sliver of chocolate in the middle. Sip & Sugar has easily became one of my top 3 tea spots. From seamless reservation to outstanding food and service. When making a reservation for larger parties, you must call in and I recommend calling in during business days around 10 am - 3 pm. No deposit required which is a plus but you do need to put your cc info just incase of a no-show. For large parties, they allowed Saturday at 10 am or 3 pm. I don't know how quick the reservations go, but they only allow you to book 1 mo in advance so do time wisely. If you're a small group, they do allow walk-ins. The pictures are exactly the same as how it is in person. So aesthetically pleasing, calm down, girl vibes. At $40 pp for one tea selection, 5 tea sandwiches, 2 scones and 3 desserts, it was a steal. It quickly filled me up and I loved each bite. My favorite was the roast beef crossaint and chicken wrap. I loved the scone with the cream and jam. As for the dessert, I surprisingly enjoyed the apple pie mini tart. Everything else was good too and filling! I ordered the Jasmine Rose tea which was great. I did get to try different teas from other friends but wow the hot chocolate was so creamy and delicious. I would recommend. Service was friendly and too notch. I'm getting angry with them all over again as I write this. I was there in Saturday with 4 of my friends to celebrate a birthday. We brought a birthday cake. (Good thing there was not cake cutting fee or I would have lost it.) The guy who works there is an idiot. He took the cake and held it for us while we ate and had our tea. I was torn between the Mango Peach Tea and the Berry Essence. Our server recommended the Mango Peach as they use Philippine Mangoes (I was sold!) My best friend went with the Berry Essence and she was also craving a hot chocolate. The server recommended the hot chocolate as they melt chocolate bars to make it (yes please!) Our teas came out first followed by our tower of foods. We let the server know my best friend couldn't eat deli meats so they kindly heated them up of for her. The food was good! I especially loved the scones! It was a lot more food than I thought so it was worth the price! It was nice sitting with our girl squad and catching up for 2 hours. Our server came by to ask us who were the birthday celebrants and at the end they came out with two cupcakes for them! We sang happy birthday and took and bunch of pictures! I used to come here often for their cake bars (before I moved away from the area), and I only recently discovered that they converted the dessert shop into a tea room. There is a small selection of pastries and breakfast sandwiches you can order separately from the tea service, but it will likely have to be to go - they only allow non-tea service dining-in if they're not fully booked. Case in point, we arrived at 9:50 am and were the only ones there, but were told only one table was still available for dining in on their cafe menu. Eventually people started to filter through for their tea party reservations, but the place was still only a third full by the time we left over an hour later. It felt somewhat disorganized and inefficient - like they could better utilize the available tables around their various bookings, rather than wholly blocking them from use. Anyways, during our first visit to the transitioned shop, I ordered The Basic breakfast croissant sandwich and strawberry horchata latte. The croissant was amazing! Made in-house, the croissant was perfectly flaky and utterly delicious, and it paired well with the egg and cheese. The latte, on the other hand, was mediocre at best. I actually wanted to order some tea but was told I can't unless I'm there for tea service, despite it being listed on the cafe menu on the shop wall. Just another example of how things could be organized better, as it seemed the items available to order changed depending on which employee I spoke with. Our second visit was for the tea service ($40 per person). We were given a variety of mini sandwiches, scones, and a few other desserts along with our choice of tea. Everything was fantastic, especially the scones and tea. The strawberry shortcake black tea I selected was truly the highlight of the tea service. So much so that I asked if they sold their tea blends separately. I was first told no by the waitress but then when I went to pay at the counter, the guy manning the register said they did sell their tea bags at $4 per individual tea bag. That is a ridiculously exorbitant price for a single tea bag! I've bought housemade tea blends from top-notch tea rooms at $12-20 total for 4-8 oz of the custom tea, (so more than 10 servings). Truly, I've never seen a normal tea blend as expensively priced as they tried to sell it here. To end this review, I'll just say the chaotic disorganization was vexing, but I'm rating this place 4 Stars because the food and tea were at least delicious. read more
