It's located at Irvine Spectrum so there's plenty of parking available. I tried the bowroom at cocktail hour. It's 21+ only, so don't forget your ID and an 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. The menu is limited to desserts and drinks, though they do offer mocktail options, and there's also a 1 hour and 15 minute time limit for each table. The staff were friendly and the decor/details throughout the space/food/drinks were cute. With the limited menu selection, it was a one and done experience for me.
Did a Mother & Daughter date here in the bow room, it was absolutely worth it! My daughter loved it. You have to make a reservation for the bow room, we did the afternoon tea, which provides you with a small selection of food and dessert items. The food tray was good along with the tea. Outstanding service as well! The servers were really nice.
This is the hidden gem in Irvine, you gotta come here to experience the fun and aesthetics adventure of Hello Kitty Cafe inside the Bow Bow Room~!!! I used to come to order Togo from the counter and take pictures, but this time I gotta come inside the hidden room yay! You must RSVP in advance to save your spot , as it's very limited. My first time here brought from my girls to celebrate Mother's Day. I love this place because it's Hello Kitty themed and I cant stop taking pictures of all the cute pastries, decorations, and the taste of all the delicious food freshly made. They taste good and delicious! The cute tea pot was served hot and tasty fragrant aroma , I ordered the Peach Blossom it came with a hello kitty shaped punk sugar, everything is so cute!!!! Service was awesome. The server explained each tier of the tea set what's in it and the choices of drinks. And best if all, helped us take group pictures. Love this place! Strongly recommended for any kind of celebration ~!! For the Hello Kitty lovers this is a must come place!!!!
I'm a huge Hello Kitty fan since 2001 (don't ask my age) so my review might be a bit biased. It's so exciting to walk in and see the little Cafe. Everything is super cute. The employees are welcoming and helpful. There's drinks, donuts, ice cream, cookies, pastries, souvenirs, etc. On this trip, I ordered oreo donuts, brown sugar donuts and a strawberry cold brew. My sister ordered the horchata ice cream. Everything was so nicely put together and tasted great. I just hope they bring back the fruity pebble donuts.
Came here to try their cake. The cake, cookies and macarons are boxed and ready to go as soon as you purchase. The mini donuts are made fresh and took a while. They tasted like churros and were really good. The price of the cake was high. There are some cute photo ops in the store and some other merch to purchase like t-shirts. Will come back to try their tea service.
People who know me know that the key to my heart is Hello Kitty. To say that I'm a huge fan would be an understatement. When I visit the Irvine Spectrum, a visit to the Hello Kitty Cafe is a requirement. During my previous visits, the 10-year anniversary water bottles were always sold out. This time, both the 18-oz and 32-oz were available, so I purchased both. They had a complimentary limited edition Year of the Horse bookmark that was free with purchase, so I got 2 with my 2 purchases. The water bottles and bookmarks will be added to my growing collection. It took a while for my friends to pry me away from Hello Kitty. This is my happy place. Great service and the cafe is beautifully decorated in a pink Hello Kitty theme. Great treats too, but on this particular visit, I came for the water bottles.
I have read all the two and three star reviews over the years. Most people are not fans of the overpriced afternoon tea, so I just never put any thought into going. But as I was walking past the ferris wheel while shopping, I saw the pink neon sign flash on with the words, "Hot Donuts". Like a moth to a flame, I walked in looking for something sweet. For those without reservations, they have a takeout menu with various drinks and desserts. Seasonal special at the time were these freshly made mini maple donuts. The price ($8.50, now $9) is not so mini, but they put a lot in the cup. It was surprisingly delightful, super fluffy and warm. Way sweeter than expected though. But I'd come back, order the regular cinnamon one, and maybe ask if it can be made with less glaze and sprinkles.
Wifeys been wanting to try this place for years, and we finally did get to try it with our LO. Of course the hello kitty theme was a hit with them. The bite sized savory and sweet items were on the 50/50 side. We agreed that the savory items were better than the sweets. Maybe that's just us getting older :) The server was kind and knowledgeable. He checked in on us quite often. We appreciated that. Will comeback, but after some time! Recommend, if you've never been!
Spending the day at the Hello Kitty Café with my dear friend Bart was a dream years in the realization, & it lived up to every sparkling expectation. Everything in sight was a vibrant celebration of all things pink, delicious, & undeniably kawaii! We indulged in a whimsical spread of savory chicken croissants & crisp cucumber sandwiches, followed by buttery scones and the most adorable strawberry treats imaginable. The service was also very attentive and warm. Our host was kind enough to explain what each yummy item was on our hello Kitty tea tree, and there was a nice grandmother with her young granddaughter next to us who took some of our pictures. We also got two glasses of bubbly champagne to celebrate my early birthday! The entire space was a Sanrio lover's paradise, with every tiny detail themed to perfection. I finally got to debut my new Truth or Dare plaid outfit, which felt like the perfect choice for the occasion--I was even lucky enough to receive several compliments on the look! It was truly a wonderful day filled with great food & even better company; I simply adore Sanrio & afternoon tea! Pinkies up~~~
I am thinking that when one imagines a Hello Kitty Cafe one cannot help but imagine an environment drenched in pink and cute. That is certainly the image I had about the Hello Kitty Cafe when I went in. It is important to note that I had not performed an internet search on this cafe prior to going so my expectations really were pink and cute in an overarching way. I did not know how the pink and cute were actually going to take form or if they would land as welcomed fairy glamour or garish hot pink spewed from an ogre ill with a pink fever. I am happy to report that the pink at the Hello Kitty cafe ultimately landed as ornate sugar, like the one used to make intricate designs on fancy laced cakes. Now we moved to the specifics of how Sanrio imaginers translated pink and Hello Kitty bows to create a momentary pink fantasy that is immersive and sweet. When my friend Ronnie- my partner in pinky raising- and I entered the cafe one was blasted with Hello Kitty merchandise, imagery and photo opportunities. It was clear from the sweaters on the walls and the dainty bow-forward cakes on displays that we were not in Kansas or Oz, anymore. We were in purr and bow territory and that meant we were pawns that now had to move with pink pace. This pink pace does not belong to the Pink Panther or to Barbie, or to Elle Woods of Legally Blonde stardom. This pink pace is unique to Hello Kitty and its distinguishing factor is that moving at this pace, is simply an act of leisure and rest, it has no purpose other than to exist in a suave, comfortable drowl. All the other pink owning people listed before move at a pink pace that is meant to accomplish something. For instance, Pink Panther desires to solve cases as it moves in pink, while Ms. Woods (comma) Elle has court battles to win in her pink pace. I, for one, welcomed being enveloped in pink slowness. There was a a stand in front of the Bow Room that suggested a host stood there at one time. But since there was no host, I mentioned our arrival to the cashier and they explained that the host of the Bow Room would be informed. A person came out of the Bow room, and told us, we had four more minutes to wait. A break in the pink fantasy but every paradise needs gnats that gnaw. As soon as one enters, the pink atmosphere- described above with maybe painful detail- wallops. In fact, when I entered the sole gender neutral bathroom I found pink hand-wash. Thus the details, like sugar, were granular. The chairs had bows, some other customers had hello kitty prints, others dressed in streets clothes, the sugar cubes were pink and in Hello Kitty form, as well as the cucumber sandwiches, as well as the tier holding case, as well as the central design feature of the room, as well as the napkin holders, as well as the chocolate design of the chocolate mouse and strawberry opener. So if I had not made this clear this room was absolutely, 1000%, Hello Kitty themed but somehow it worked, it never crossed into a tsunami of pink that could drown and wash away. I think because its own its absurdity with confidence, like a model who wears an avant garde creation/monstrosity with humility abandon. All of the pictures will help the reader decide for themselves if this place's pink is right-on or wrong-off. Now unto the food. I first tried the Birthday Tea which was raspberry forward. I am not sure why I did not like it, even with a hello kitty sugar cube. The server was kind enough to swap it for their most popular tea--- their pear tea. This one could be drank without sugar, which was good, I did not want to use too many sugar cubes, like one for every cup. To prevent this, I put a sugar cube in the pot. I know the review is dense but I hope people take note of this fact: Put a cube in the pot, instead on every cup, to ensure one does not over-indulge in sugar. Especially when the tea bites were, in my opinion, overly sweet. More broadly speaking, the tea bites were mostly standard, with some being more, and others being less. For example, the chicken salad croissant was good and had a pinch of maybe celery or another bitter-like vegetable that added crunch and zest but did not fully reach its promise, it went forward but not reach its full bite goal. The apple tart was a mini apple pie that I could leave after one nibble, as apple pies are so well known that I did not want to get to know the familiar again. There was a hummus on a pita with something red on top, this was a solid bite. So basically I am saying that the atmosphere and design- from tea spoon to walls, was the real draw of the place, where the food falls short and eats as a minor let down. At least for me, others might love the food, but now I am over stating as we all know that taste is a relative human experience. I would not go back to this place. I did it, know what it was and that was enough. But I am glad I tried once for now I know what a pretty pink tea party feels like.
Came here to experience the 21+ cocktail service in the Bow Room. It was definitely a great experience to share with a group of friends. Bow Room is adorable with the most adorable drinks that you just would like to order them all. Reservations must be made online for any Bow Room gathering. I received great customer service from checking in with hostess to our assign waiter for night. Some cocktail drinks are seasonal so it's always good to visit throughout the seasons.
Got to try the hello kitty cafe! Been looking forward to trying since my experience in Vegas! When I went they were celebrating 10 years and lunar new year! I love the magic of this concept. Something about seeing people of all ages rave about hello kitty is very contagious! Honestly made my day with how friendly the staff was even when it got busy and how happy the kids are! My milk tea with pudding was very good! Be sure to mix it or you ll get a glob of brown sugar! My partner got the cold brew and presentation wise reminded us of the infamous drink at Disney Coffee wise is palatable we enjoyed the fact there wasn't much ice so eating the cereal was enjoyable!
Lucky timing today in ordering. I don't know if the hype died down or we had a lucky chance to come in with no lines. My girlfriend and I decided to go with a matcha latte to share with each other because I was still feeing very full from an earlier brunch. We enjoy the strawberry milk here but decided to opt for matcha because we had a long day ahead of us. She ordered it sweetened with vanilla syrup and oat milk. The total with these customizations led the drink to cost over $9, so keep in mind the pricing. I'm super relieved to say that however the drink was VERY delicious and good!!! The ice to drink ratio was perfect and we strolled around for the next 30 mins at Irvine Spectrum centre enjoying the creamy matcha drink. Can't wait to come back and get another drink from here again!!!

This was a really cool and cute tea experience so i'm glad i was able to do it. For the price point i would do it just this once. My friend and i did the bow room afternoon tea which is SO pink and gold and hello kitty perfection! They started us with chocolate mousse and strawberries which was delicious and i picked the honeyed pear tea (non caff) and my friend got earl grey. My tea smelled and tasted amazing. The sugar cubes are pink hello kitty shapes. Our tea came with 2 of everything: cucumber hk faces, beet hummus pitas (tiny), 2 egg salad waffle cups, lemon tarts, blueberry scones. chicken salad croissants, macarons, strawberry tarts, and little petit-four type cakes. Everything was quite delicious and i did get full from it and i didnt even drink all my tea. It seems like the pots are endless refills but nothing else is. I was disappointed that they gave us one small pat of butter and one little thing of jam for both of us - at that portion size we needed 1 each. Had a nice time! Would like to revisit the "to go" counter next time. Everyone was SOOO friendly and helpful but not smothering. Everything is perfectly hello kitty which i love. read more

[Atmosphere]: Cute cafe with plenty of Instagrammable decor. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are Strawberry Cake and Macarons. They also sell Hello Kitty-shaped cookies, donuts, and Hello Kitty merchandise. Please note that this is a Hello Kitty-themed cafe so don't expect to find other Sanrio characters here. [The Bow Room]: The Bow Room is a speakeasy that offers afternoon tea for $65 per person (last seating at 5 PM) and cocktail service (7 PM to 9 PM on Wednesdays and Thursdays & 6:45 PM to 9:45 PM on Fridays and Saturdays - 21+ only). Reservations can be made through Tock. *** Strawberry Cloud Matcha (matcha latte with strawberry cold foam - $8.00): The matcha tasted really weak and the drink tasted more like a green tea latte from Starbucks. *** This is one of those places where visitors come for the vibes more than the drinks themselves. Lucky timing today in ordering. I don't know if the hype died down or we had a lucky chance to come in with no lines. My girlfriend and I decided to go with a matcha latte to share with each other because I was still feeing very full from an earlier brunch. We enjoy the strawberry milk here but decided to opt for matcha because we had a long day ahead of us. She ordered it sweetened with vanilla syrup and oat milk. The total with these customizations led the drink to cost over $9, so keep in mind the pricing. I'm super relieved to say that however the drink was VERY delicious and good!!! The ice to drink ratio was perfect and we strolled around for the next 30 mins at Irvine Spectrum centre enjoying the creamy matcha drink. Ok. So it's super cute but honestly, the food doesn't look good at all ! The line was long and people couldn't make up their mind on what to order so I ended up not ordering anything. This is my second time going to the bow row! I love the experience that alyza and Sammy offer. Both are extremely kind and friendly. They offer great customer service and as always, the drinks are delicious. My favorite dessert I tried was the tiramisu dessert. It's not too sweet and you can taste the espresso. I recently visited the Hello Kitty Café at Irvine Spectrum for the Afternoon Tea Set experience. The ambiance was adorable, beautifully themed, and perfect for Hello Kitty fans. Making a reservation was simple, and the booking process was straightforward. Guests are required to pay the $60 per person fee in advance when making the reservation. One thing to be aware of is that upon arrival, an additional 18% gratuity and Irvine sales tax (7.75%) are charged, which increases the overall cost beyond the advertised price. While the presentation was cute, the snacks and tea did not feel worth the $60 per person price tag. The experience lasted about 45 minutes, and there wasn't much reason to stay longer since the snacks are not replenished. Overall, the atmosphere was enjoyable and photo-worthy, but the food and beverage offerings did not provide enough value for the cost. Unfortunately, I would not consider the Afternoon Tea Set experience worth the price. read more

I really enjoyed my visit to the Hello Kitty Cafe. The food and drinks were great with everything having a hello kitty theme. The whole place has a really cute and fun atmosphere. Especially Stephanie, she was one of the staff members who was soooo helpful. She super friendly , very bubbly and just made my experience much more enjoyable. What a fun and cute Hello Kitty experience. This is located at the Irvine Spectrum. We made reservations, and when we arrived we walked through their pastry storefront and were then led through a door into the dining area. The desserts were all delicious, from the chocolate strawberry mousse to the Birthday Surprise Cake. I wasn't a fan of my Apple Mocktail, but my girlfriends enjoyed their alcohol-infused drinks. I've loved every Hello Kitty Cafe I've been to and this one was no exception! As a big Hello Kitty fan this cafe really made my heart happy. The desserts and drinks are always super cute and yummy. They also have seasonal items so we got a pumpkin latte and a pumpkin tart. Only downside was that there was a big line (as to be expected with how popular Hello Kitty is) but the staff still got everyone through pretty quickly. They have a back area where they do an afternoon tea and a bar for the evening that I would like to check out on a future visit. I didn't get a get a good look at it except for a peek through the door and it looked like Hello Kitty heaven on earth. read more
What an adorable cafe! I still remember when Hello Kitty items were exclusively found at Sanrio boutique stores before they became available at Target, Walmart and other stores. Seeing this Hello Kitty Cafe at Irvine Spectrum made me feel like this was an exclusive spot - just like it used to be. All things Hello Kitty (and her friends) are nostalgic and will easily draw me in - especially since I used to work for Sanrio at the mall as a teen. Walking into the Hello Kitty Cafe, I was immediately welcomed by the familiar Sanrio drawings. It was also a perfect opportunity to buy some sweet treats for my cousin who was heading out to Hawaii the next morning. I purchased the madeleines because they were individually packaged and came in a cute pink box, as well as some fresh mini donuts (cinnamon sugar mini donuts). These were delicious! Spontaneous visit to SoCal in the beginning of November and the Hello Kitty fan that I am, wanted to try out the bow room with my sister. The ease of getting a reservation was not too bad online , it was the connecting with them when delayed at the airport to make the reservation time was frustrating because we would get an AI bot and not get through to the staff. We found out their messaging system was down and we were able to keep our reservation after being 45mins late. With that said, we were actually the first reservation to be seated and was able to enjoy the whole room to ourselves for a good 15-20 mins. The decor was so cute every detail from the floor to the table settings to even the bathroom was super cute. For the amount of food you get and sweet treats I was satisfied and not feeling stuffed. The tea was surprising good and does not taste too artificial. It was a good experience for a one time thing but would love to bring my daughter when she is old enough. read more
As a lifelong Hello Kitty lover this was it! I love the hello Kitty Cafe! Making reservations for the Bow Room for drinks was easy. Cute pink everything. You need to purchase at least one drink from the menu, and the time limit is 1hr. You can order from the cafe to enjoy other treats with your drinks. I tried berry kawaii drink and enjoyed it. The drink with the Polaroid is called picture perfect, $20 which is worth it as a lil keepsake from the experience. The service was great and drinks were amazing. I visited the Hello Kitty Cafe at the Irvine Spectrum, and the decor is absolutely adorable. It is such a cute spot and definitely gives girls' hangout energy. Everything is pink, playful, and very on-theme, making it super photo-worthy. You do need a reservation to sit in the dine-in area, which is something to keep in mind. They also have a to-go area, but the line can get pretty long, especially during busy hours. The staff was kind and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant overall. While I personally wouldn't come back if the wait was long with no reservation, I still most definitely recommend trying it at least once. Food: The desserts were the absolute highlight of the night. The Mama's Apple Pie was incredibly delicious so warm, perfectly spiced, and even better with the side of creamy vanilla ice cream. The Strawberry Tiramisu was equally impressive, light and flavorful with the perfect balance of sweetness. The cocktails were another standout: beautifully presented, vibrant, and surprisingly strong while still being super tasty. Every drink felt thoughtfully crafted. Service The service was excellent. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and quick without ever feeling rushed. They offered plenty of great recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the visit. Ambiance The ambiance made the whole experience unforgettable. The Bow Room is absolutely stunning! so much detail everywhere and the cutest Hello Kitty décor from corner to corner. 4.5 for their afternoon tea! There were more misses than hits in terms of the food, but the whole experience was amazing and super fun because of the adorable Hello Kitty details and decor. Our server was kind and attentive, as well! We got the peach and apple teas and both were great. -- Food ratings -- Great: 1. Mini apple tart (great crumble topping and flaky crust) 2. Raspberry macaron (delicious and soft) 3. Strawberries and chocolate cream (light and refreshing) Just ok: 4. Pumpkin scone (too dense/dry) 5. Hummus pita bite (cute but nothing special) 6. Egg salad cup (decent egg salad but does not pair well with the waffle cone flavor) Bad: 7. Cucumber sandwich (soggy) 8. Chicken salad sandwich (croissant was good but there was too little filling; just one strip of mushy chicken salad) 9. Strawberry tart (oddly runny filling with an artificial strawberry flavor) 10. Stopped by with a few friends and we were able to secure a same day afternoon reservation for Tea Time. We started off with a birthday chocolate mousse and strawberries, ordered our tea flavors, and del in the 3-tier hello kitty tower filled with sweet and savory treats! A friend of mine mentioned this HELLO KITTY CAFE that is located in Spectrum Center. My husband and I decided to visit , we came in the late afternoon which is way past the last hours for their Tea time, so we just ordered something to try from their place: *COOKIE SET *STRAWBERRY CLOUD LATTE *CAPPUCCINO with LAVANDER Tables and chairs are only available at the Tea Room that they have, and outside the tea room it is just a space to order and to get your drinks and snacks to-go, they also have a small window to watch them making donuts, but outside their store there are a few tables and chairs provided by the mall that you can sit at. The cookies I got are cute and good, I enjoyed them, and my husband's STRAWBERRY CLOUD LATTE was delicious. I have had a CAPPUCCINO with LAVANDER in other stores before, but the one here I didn't like. Their staffs here are so nice. There's Plenty of parking in Spectrum Center. This place is great for any ages, especially to Hello Kitty fans. read more
The Hello Kitty cafe is a super cute photo op. The food items heavily lean sweet, so this is the place for you if you have a sweet tooth. The tea selection is varied and there are non-tea options for kids. We were disappointed that the chicken salad croissants only had 1 small line of chicken salad piping instead of spreading throughout the center of the croissant. Some of the cups had chips in them, so that did take away from the aesthetics. The tables were also extremely close together so felt a little cramped while eating. This is a super cute spot. I grew up with Hello Kitty & Sanrio so it's nostalgic for me. Upon walking in I was surprised that it was so sparse inside. If you walk to the right, there's a big plastic hello Kitty, that would be great for photo ops. Just to the left of that is a window where you can watch staff making items in the kitchen. Next to the counter there were mugs and only a few other items for purchase. Would be nice if they had more merchandise. At the front counter is where they have all the items packaged, to go cookies, pastries, etc. No one ever said hi or welcomed us walking in. In fact the whole time I was there, the people were not at the counter. They were in the kitchen or behind somewhere. There was no line and only three other people in the store using the back wall for photo ops. I ended up just leaving because no one seemed to want to help at the counter. I'd love to maybe try a cocktail hour sometime in the future as a novelty, but that needs to be reserved well in advance and I was just stopping in. It's very cute and perfect for kids and photo ops, but I don't think you would need to go more than once. read more

They have 3 types of ceramic cups, hello kitty theme. Expensive no special prices (not even with a purchase" also most of their stuff is always sold out you'll only get drinks
Is the Dole Whip still vegan since it's served with vanilla soft serve?
The vanilla flavor is not vegan as it contains dairy but the fruit flavors are vegan as long as they're Dole.
When you go for the afternoon tea service, are food/drinks included in the reservation price or do you pay for that separately?
It's a deposit so you pay $60 per person, minus the deposit as of 11/2025
How much is it for the afternoon bar service?
It's a la cart. You order drinks and desserts off the menu .

Is the tea time available on Tuesdays?
Tea time is every day of the week, I believe. If you are looking at their calendar and the days you want are disabled, means that they are all booked for that day. Usually, you need to make reservations two to three months. I hope that was helpful!

Can you bring small dogs for the lunch tea in the bow room?
Pets are allowed at the Irvine Spectrum, there is not seating inside the cafe, aside from the bow room. Pets are not allowed in the bow room.
I made reservations for tea with my twin daughters who are 9 &have tons of allergies & aversions. I just want to take them for the experience. Will they still charge $60 each for them if they can't eat any of the food? Special needs child?
Yes, it's $60 each. I'm vegetarian, so I couldn't eat several items and it was still $60. This is just my experience, I would call to double check.
Can we get lunch or food at the cafe with out any reservation?

I know the donuts are what takes the longest sometimes they shut down the machine. The macaroons I never had them say they are out.

Same price for kids when I went with my 9 year old daughter in Feb of this year. They can order drinks that are not hot tea such as lemonade.
