Perfect vibe for tea, food or high tea. They have a patio area too, perfect for when the weather is nice. I've been coming to Morning Lavender for over 5 years now, and it's truly one of the highlights of my week. The feeling the moment you walk in is just so special. Everything is always so beautifully curated, the clothes are incredibly cute and such great quality. And then getting to head to the café after shopping for a coffee and avocado toast makes the whole experience even better. This was actually the first place I ever tried a lavender latte and WOW... still one of my favorites to this day. this is a really cute afternoon tea spot that has been around forever. i was in the area and wanted to try out the coffee/milk tea flight, which had 4 small cups of different flavors: lavender latte, rose latte, rose black milk tea, and lavender black milk tea. honestly, they were all pretty sweet and had similar profiles despite being different flower flavors. the coffee was good and strong and balanced the sweetness well. nothing special that i would get again, but definitely a fun way to sample different flavors in one try! the cafe itself is really cute and decorated with a coquette vibe. there is a connecting clothing store under the same brand, and i would have definitely looked through them if i had more time because all of the clothes looked really cute. read more

Morning Lavender is such a cute little gem right in the heart of Old Town Tustin. It's attached to a boutique, which makes it fun to browse while sipping your coffee, and the whole place has a super charming vibe with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating plus a few photo-worthy spots. The menu is pretty limited food-wise with light bites, pastries, and croissants, but the drinks delivered. We tried the pandan viet coco and the blueberry hojicha, and both were delicious in totally different ways. Friendly counter service too, which always helps. It's been a couple of years since I've been back here and it felt both familiar and a little refreshed at the same time. The space looks mostly the same, but I did notice a few changes. There was a cute photo booth, some new drinks on the menu, and more signage for upcoming events like Mother's Day and Tea for Tots. While looking over the menu, banana cream top caught my attention. I'm a huge banana person, so there was no hesitation there. I ordered the matcha banana cream top and swapped the milk for coconut milk. When my drink came out, I had to try it right away before mixing it because of the cream on top. The house made cream top was so good. You can actually taste real banana, which made it fresh and not artificial. After giving it a stir, it somehow got even better. Every sip had a little bit of everything. The earthy matcha, pieces of the banana, that smooth cream foam, and this crunch that I couldn't quite identify but all of it was delicious! The ambiance is still one of my favorite parts about this place. It has that clean, chic, and aesthetic vibe. Great place to have showers, meet ups, and special occasions. I've had Morning Lavender's Afternoon Tea Service a few years ago and it was a great experience. When I found out about their Bridgerton Afternoon Tea event, I knew I had to go. I went with my friend who also loved Bridgerton as much as I do. It was a lovely afternoon. The ambiance was spectacular. There was even a violinist. I felt like I was transformed into the 1800s Regency London, Bridgerton-style. Their sandwiches and desserts were okay, but nothing tops their scone. I wish we had the option to get a plateful. Service has gone significantly down hill. Went to the afternoon tea (which I've done several times before), it took 45 minutes to get our order placed and to get our food. The servers spent the majority of time inside the kitchen celebrating another employees birthday. When ordering a drink at the register, the barista rudely questioned our decision to purchase a drink because apparently we "had enough food and tea" with the paid service. When check arrived, I was greatly disappointed that they added a 18% gratuity and then still asked for more. Service like this should not have added gratuity. This place has been on my list for a long time but they open a little later in the day so I'm not able to hit it up before work. Well today is my day off and I visited. The seasonal apple pie matcha is DELICIOUS! I'm hard to please with flavored drinks but this one is amazing. Not overly sweet as I only had one pump of their homemade syrup and the added graham crackers and cinnamon apple just brought the right notes. I drank it very fast and am excited to try other things on their menu. There is also a boutique attached. Pastries from the case are from Crema. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Great service. I went to Morning Lavender on 9/14/25 for a 10am reservation to celebrate my boyfriend's mom's birthday. We arrived early at 9:50am and were the first guests for our time slot. The staff told us we could sit immediately or return closer to 10am, so we browsed the boutique and came back at 9:57am. Our server, Hannah, greeted us and explained the menu. She had to attend to other tables before taking our tea order. By the time she returned, the patio was packed with multiple parties--including birthdays and a baby shower. I noticed the food/dessert towers went to other tables first, even though we were seated first. Once it arrived, Hannah explained the items, and the tea, sandwiches, and desserts were delicious--as always. However, the experience was extremely uncomfortable. Patio tables were too close together, making it hard to enjoy the meal or get service. Guests constantly brushed against our table, and the noise from celebrations and airplanes made it hard to relax. When I was paying, I mentioned to Hannah that this was a horrible experience due to the cramped seating and asked if we could've been seated inside instead. She replied that yes, I could have asked or notated it in the future. She also glanced at the seating chart and admitted that they had packed more people onto the patio than usual for their headcount, which might explain why it felt so tight. I continued to enjoy my day, but prior to writing this review, the Morning Lavender manager called me at 12:51pm after Hannah told her I wasn't happy. I went over everything, and her response was simply, "oh, I'm sorry that happened." She admitted they had seated seven more people than their headcount should have allowed, which is why the tables were closer together. Regarding the airplane noise, she said there was nothing she could do. With the amount of money I spend here, that reply felt unacceptable. She then offered, "oh, we can give you and your boyfriend's mom a complimentary drink," but clarified they wouldn't refund anything for this experience. I'm very disappointed with both the experience and the manager's response. If they were aware they had exceeded their headcount, it would have been reasonable to adjust reservations or proactively offer indoor seating. Guests should not have to request this themselves. If you plan to visit, I highly recommend sitting inside for a more pleasant experience. read more

We asked to sit inside in the air conditioning and were told only 2-seater tables were available. We said that was fine, and they squeezed our party of 3 onto a tiny table... yet there were unused 4-seater tables inside. Food was fine but very limited. Only one of each item per person, so it felt rationed. The 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Overall, it's a cute spot for photos or maybe a special occasion, but for the price and the comfort level, I wouldn't come back. No parking available. Difficult to find street parking. read more

This was such a nice experience! I had known about Morning Lavender for years, but I mistakenly believed that it was reservation-only. This morning, I wandered in and was delighted that their cafe was operating. I ordered an iced rose pistachio latte with less sweetener, and it was perfect. It's hard to make a drink with three competing flavors and *less* syrup, but the barista struck the perfect balance between flavor and mellow sweetness. The espresso wasn't lost under the flavors, and was noticeably fresh. I also got a gluten free banana bread slice, which was yummy as well :) The cafe is clean, pretty, and not super crowded around 9 AM on a Tuesday. There's plenty of seating, a nice restroom, and--- a miracle--- outlets!!! While it is a little pricy (it was $10 total), the pricing is consistent with other cafes in the downtown Tustin area (and SoCal, for that matter). read more

Cute afternoon tea spot! There are such nice photo op spots throughout the cafe. The tea service comes with one pot of tea of your choice and a selection of finger sandwiches, desserts and scone. All tasted great and fresh, very dainty. Only complaint is I wish it came with a little more food... the price point is for the ambiance and the teas are pretty good. I absolutely love the Morning Lavender Cafe! I've enjoyed all of their locations, but the OG is the best! Throughout the years, I've come here for matcha lattes, regular lattes, baked goods, and shopping in the boutique. All of which have always been phenomenal. They have some of the best designs/styles for clothing, so make sure to stop by the boutique! Recently, I finally had the chance to have afternoon tea service in their courtyard. You do have to make reservations ahead, which is why it took me so long to finally be able to go, as they book quickly and quite ahead of time too. So I would suggest to book a few weeks in advance! I enjoy going to different tea services regularly and I felt their tea service itself was quite up to par with others. They had beautiful place settings, good service, delicious tea sandwiches, scones, and desserts. The sandwiches were all fantastic, the scone was perfect (especially with clotted cream!), and the desserts were just delectable. We even ordered a flight of mimosas which were all quite yummy. My personal favorite was the lavender mimosa. The only part that I found lacking in this experience was the tea itself. I tried the pot of earl grey lavender, honey lavender black tea, and the strawberry rose champagne oolong tea. I think the oolong and black teas themselves were fine, but the flavoring just wasn't right. For the earl grey lavender, the tea wasn't strong enough (most likely due to not enough tea mix in the pot as it seeped for over a hour and never got stronger). The honey lavender black tea had a bit of honey to the flavor but the brew looked like green tea and there were no lavender notes at least that we experienced in our pot. The strawberry rose champagne would taste great in the beginning but had a slight after taste of cherry cough syrup. This was my personal experience and taste, so this may not taste the same to others! I still had a lovely time at their afternoon tea and would be happy to try other tea flavors in the future. The food for the tea service alone would bring me back again as every item they made was fantastic! Their afternoon tea was quite peaceful on the back patio too. read more

This is a clothing & dress shop that turns into a café as you walk further back into the store. The café opens out onto a large patio that can be used for tea parties and celebrations. While we were there, a group was gathering for a baby shower and it looked like a perfect spot for one, with florals and pastels being the theme inside the shop. One of my sisters bought a full, long golden-colored skirt with pockets that was very beautiful. My other sister ordered a rose latte that is made with real rosewater. It was delicious. This is a truly adorable cafe. We went with a group for tea time and everything was fantastic. There was a miscommunication on both ends in regards to pricing for a toddler but the manager was kind and able to accommodate the confusion. I ordered the Peach Matcha Iced Latte. I was under the impression that it would taste like peach, but when I got it, I didn't see Peach or taste peach. I asked for it to be sweet too. Then, hours later I actually got sick from this drink. I feel very deceived that this drink didn't appear as advertised. The girl who took my order made it seem like the peach cold foam would be on top but when I got my drink, you can see that small drizzle on top of my drink. It was not at all like it was shown in their promo. Sadly, I have paid twice on 2 drinks from this place and still didn't look or taste great. I made it very clear I like my drinks extra sweet, but didn't come out at all sweet. Then on top of this drink, I got sick from this beverage. I really hope the milk they used was properly refrigerated. Their HH says kids drink free, but you have to have your child with you in order to get them a free drink. Morning Lavender Cafe is a spot that offers Afternoon Tea, drinks, and food at the back of the Morning Lavender boutique. It's a cute space with lots of pink, purple, and florals. Came here with some friends for Afternoon Tea on a Saturday. We made a reservation for 12:30pm. Check-in was easy and quick. Since it was raining, we were seated indoors. Our server came to explain the menu and tea choices. Unfortunately, they were out of some teas, but they have a seasonal tea menu to make up for it. There were four of us and we all got the Afternoon Tea set. The teas we chose were the Coconut Milk Green Tea, Blueberry Pie Green Tea, Earl Grey Lavender, and Cherry Rose Rooibos. The teas came out first followed by the food items. We were told to let the teas steep for 4 minutes before pouring them. They were all great, but the favorite for us was the Coconut Milk Green Tea. It was creamy, smooth, and milky with a nice coconut flavor. The Blueberry Pie Green Tea tasted like a blueberry pie. We did not feel that the blueberry flavor was artificial. The Earl Grey Lavender was more Earl Grey than lavender. There might have been a subtle lavender flavor. The Cherry Rose Rooibos was surprisingly flavorful. We were able to taste both the cherry and rose. The food items were all solid. Our favorite sandwiches are the Chicken Salad and Cucumber ones. The breads for all the sandwiches were soft and fluffy, but they held up well. The scones were crunchy but not dry, and the jam was delicious. The fruit tart was mediocre. The pastry was soggy, affecting the texture of the tart. The macaron was not as chewy as others I have had in thr past, but was not too sweet. I did not try the donut so cannot comment on it. Overall, giving Morning Lavender Cafe a 4.5/5. Service is great and staff are quick and attentive. The teas were all good and most of the food is solid with exception of a couple of bites. Came in this afternoon for a mother-daughter date with my 3-year-old, who was excited to order the strawberry milk. The menu clearly states: "Milk (Regular, Chocolate, or Strawberry) - $3.25." But when the cashier rang it up, the total came to $5.50. I politely pointed out the listed price, and she responded that it's $3.50 plus $2 for the strawberry syrup. I reminded her the menu explicitly says the drink is $3.25--no mention anywhere of an extra charge for syrup. Why even have a menu if you're going to tack on hidden fees? If they took a step back and honestly looked at their own menu pricing, they'd see it doesn't add up. I kindly asked them to honor the price listed. They consulted with someone else and brought it down to $5.25--lol. Charging nearly 60% more than what's advertised is not okay. It's misleading, and frankly, dishonest. I sent a screenshot of the menu to several friends, and every single one agreed--it clearly says $3.25. If you think this review is just about $2, you're missing the point. For sure, you should check the screen to make sure you're not getting ripped off, but I'm with my toddler and teaching her what integrity looks like.
