There are plenty of parking spaces, but if you want to park in front of the cafe, there are limited spots. They also have indoor and outdoor seating available. We ordered the breakfast burrito and smoked salmon toast. The smoked salmon toast was really good, but the bread was a bit hard; it wasn't the soft bread. The breakfast burrito was okay because it was a bit dry to me. It does come with salsa, but I would prefer if they had their own sauce. I recently visited TruBru, one of my all-time favorite coffee and breakfast spots. Unfortunately, it looks like TruBru has been hit hard by Ozempic. My all-time favorite breakfast burrito has apparently gone on a serious weight-loss program. What used to be a satisfying burrito has now suffered from some serious shrinkflation. At this point, I'm convinced they've been injecting Ozempic directly into the food because the portion size looks about 100% smaller. The lemon scone is still worth the visit... maybe. I snapped a quick photo of my burrito to document its impressive weight loss and sent it to a group of friends. Their response? "Did you order from the kids' menu?" From an American economy that was already struggling before this president took office, to inflation, to shrinkflation, and now Ozemplation... TruBru just isn't what it used to be. But the saddest part isn't even the burrito. It's watching a college student take over a four-person table for hours with a laptop and a single coffee, while actual paying customers ordering breakfast, coffee and food are left standing around--or trying to balance on an unsteady outdoor table while being harassed by birds. Wow, how have I not added a review for this place yet. Discovered this place a couple years ago, hidden in the middle of nowhere I feel like. But it's close to my house. Cute ambience, and there is always a crowd there. If you come on the weekends, it can't get very busy and crowded in the parking lot around. The ordering system also can get very long. They have two register and you have to wait in this long line to order. You could always order on their app, though as well. They have a wide variety of coffee drinks. I do wish they would make their own syrup. I believe they only have one housemase syrup. They offer a wide variety of food options as well for lunch and breakfast for a coffee shop. Their bakery is also absolutely delicious! All those items I know are baked fresh. I've enjoyed quite a few of those. They are a little pricey, though, just to be warn, but it's understandable. I ordered their Banana Foster Iced Latte a week ago and the first few sips seemed like regular iced coffee but the lower half had amazing banana flavoring. I came back with a friend today and this was not the case. There was LITERALLY no banana flavoring- just tasted like a straight iced latte. Great customer service, good coffee and a nice atmosphere. First and foremost, they make their own flavored syrups, which is such a small thing but it makes such a drastic difference in the taste of your drink. No artificial aftertaste! YAY! I got an iced vanilla latte, with banana cream cold foam; it was so good! Again, the banana cream cold foam is made in house and it didn't have an artificial taste, but it was pretty sweet. I forgot to ask for half the vanilla syrup to offset the sweetness from the cold foam. So, beware if you don't like sweet drinks. The barista who took our order, Ella, was super sweet and welcoming. She took her time, answering our questions and made some recommendations too. The one drawback of this place is probably one of the things that makes it extra special, too. They have a little brick oven that radiates heat throughout the cafe. It was really warm in there, I couldn't wait to get out. It didn't help that I visited on a triple digit day! A very popular stop on Chapman Ave, nestled back near the 241! This coffee shop often has a line out the door and rightfully deserves it! Tru Bru's lattes and chai's are unmatched! The breakfast burrito and the avocado toast are excellent companions to a warm latte. The shop itself gets loud, but it is warm, welcoming, and kid-friendly! You will often see families and dogs hanging out outside. Mobile ordering can help you skip the line, but I promise you, it is worth the wait! As for the items I purchase, as well as what my friends had ordered, I ordered their avocado toast. The options you can decide are Half (1 avo toast piece) or Full (2 avo toast pieces). I did add sides to mine. Bacon and One egg medium over easy. This staple is my jam every time! Just hits the spot as my breakfast go to. For my beverage, I knew I was coming for the Chai Latte. I ordered it iced, but the beverage tastes wonderfully hot as well. I did see that in their Spring Drink Menu it mentioned Banana Cream Cold foam, so you already know ya girl had to try that out. Just can't love this place more! The one in Irvine is also wonderful. The food is outstanding and by far the best scones I've ever tasted. They are true perfection. I've also had their hot breakfasts a few times and they're delicious! Get the scramble. The best part is the coffee. My typical drink is an Americano (hot or iced) and TB delivers the flavor. Their employees are so sweet and friendly. Never, ever had a bad experience at TB. I was really disappointed by my experience at Tru Bru. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt very unwelcoming. It genuinely felt like the staff looked annoyed or disgusted that Hispanic customers were there simply trying to enjoy a cup of coffee. Super popular cafe off Chapman Avenue, right across from Santiago Canyon Community College. There's ample seating, although it gets especially busy during weekends and some nights. This is a good study spot since there are some outlets and you're able to order actual dishes/meals instead of only baked goods. Parking can be difficult since it's in a shopping plaza and is somewhat limited. My recommendation at Tru Bru is the iced chai latte and I ask for it to be less sweet. The iced chai latte is a nice drink, the flavor almost reminds me of arroz con leche. Their matcha lattes are also decent, but I haven't tried many other drinks from the menu. They also sell a variety of baked goods and food items. I'm a fan of the banana bread and the breakfast sandwich. Was on my way to Santiago College for a seminar and needed coffee and Tru Bru came to the rescue. They're located caddy corner from the college and have a nice outdoor seating area that faces the college. I ordered a latte and a strawberry muffin and was elated when both tasted great. Even though there was a line, my order came out pretty quickly and I made it to my seminar on time. I'm always afraid of trying a new coffee place and it's not good, but Tru Bru was great and there was a lot of locals here which was nice to see.
