I've been coming to Tru Bru for over a year now as a regular and I've been meaning to leave a review. I Have to say the coffee is consistently good and the beans are organic. They also have a seasonal menu that always fits the season (like the strawberry cold foams during Valentine's). The food is just as great , especially the breakfast. It's genuinely hard to choose between the breakfast sando and the breakfast burrito. But what really makes this place great is the people. The staff is friendly, sociable, helpful, and kind. That welcoming atmosphere is exemplified by the manager in Brickell, who sets the tone for the whole team. Ugh, I do hate leaving mediocre reviews, but this is what Yelp is for, we have to say it like it is and it's not always great. First time coming here, I don't see myself coming back any time soon either. As always, sometimes it's an off day and then It winds up being really good, so don't take my word for it. I wanted to order the GLUTEN FREE walnut bread that they had labeled in the bakery case. The lady at the register told me she didn't think it was gluten free even though it clearly was labeled. So she went to the back and confirmed that it was mislabeled and told me that the muffins on the bottom were gluten free, however they were NOT labeled as being gluten free. Confusing I know, but it appeared the entire bakery case was labeled incorrectly then. I suppose if you had celiac, this could be a concern. I'm sensitive to gluten but not allergic thankfully. I mentioned this should have been labeled correctly, not to sound pushy but it could end up being a serious problem for someone. Lastly, I ordered the Turkish latte, and she rang up a regular latte, no problem, I let her know it was the Turkish Latte that I was ordering so she corrected it but when I picked up my coffee, I wound up with a regular latte anyway (and paid for the Turkish Latte). Not the best first impression, coffee itself wasn't bad, disappointing though, Turkish coffee is pretty strong and this tasted like more milk than coffee. Definitely not strong enough, and kind of added to the frustration. I would not recommend this place, there are plenty of fantastic coffee houses as you can see from my reviews, I'd go somewhere else. read more

all of the staff are very kind, food is fresh, and coffee is delicious. It's one of the few coffee places where each drink isn't $8 for having a different milk. I'm always leaving happy and full! It is great that the coffee is organic, but I could not really taste the coffee beans. It was not acidic, nor was it nutty or toasty. The coffee just tasted a bit flat and weak... Honestly, and weirdly, I do notice the similar flat taste in other 'organic' coffee locations in this area (except maybe in the one in Tustin marketplace...) The location is nice, and this place is a hidden gem for organic coffee. I just hope they put a bit more care into their coffee bean selection or roasting process since it has great potential to attract more customers! (fyi, the front staff actually recommended adding sweetener to the coffee...I'm wondering if they suggested it because they already knew the coffee flavor was lacking? 5 stars all the way! My coworker and I like to go try new coffee spots weekly and he mentioned trying to come here before and wasn't able to find it. Thankfully we found it together in the back corner of the business park it's in. Walking in it's small and tucked in the corner of its business park but it is nice. Big window view into a kitchen, small front, 3/4 seats to wait for your coffee, it's a place you mainly come in to get your coffee and go. The cashier/barista artist was friendly and had good vibes. Definitely liked ordering coffee from him. I got the iced latte with lavender and it came out awesome. The coffee was really good, nice balance of sweetness, and sometimes the lavender can be too much or kind of come across soapy at some places, but theirs was really good. My only regret is I didn't get the banana bread. It looked so good and I will be back for it. Overall a really nice spot, hope that others push through and don't give up on finding it! This location is a totally different vibe from the one in Orange so it's kinda fun to experience. Food and coffee are the same and both are good. They offer a discount if you pay cash, which I always forget. They also validate parking which is nice. I do feel like they are a little on the higher side for prices but every once in awhile, it's a good spot to stop for some caffeine. I do like their homemade baked goods. The seasonal ones are nice for a change. Friendly staff as well. read more

Their pastries are baked in house and are incredible! They have tons of seating to eat your meal, have an informal meeting or work on a laptop. The staff is always kind and accommodating if needed. This coffee spot is located in a business area with parking lots that are ticketed. Remember to ask them to validate your ticket. There are lots of games outside to enjoy (corn hole, billiards, air hockey). Limited indoor seating but a lot of chairs, tables and couches outside. Bathrooms available. They have a specialty drink menu for each season so be sure to check it out. This one had a larger selection of bakery items that looked delicious. The downside is the price - $20 for a coffee and avocado toast is a bit much. read more

On my way to the Marriott and was Looking up coffee spots nearby. It is right next door in one of the office buildings. I was curious why an organic coffee spot was at an office building. Super cute! My bestie and I came here after a pilates class and the environment was welcoming. We enjoyed it! The hot food is delicious but I usually get a scone because they are the best I've ever had and I always want one if I come here. I love coffee but more so the experience of the cafe. There's a wonderful team here on my most recent visit. I got my favorites, a cortado, a pour over, and a bag to take home. I went there on a Saturday and it was hidden near the Orange County Business Journal. I loved the area and the aesthetic of the cafe. It had a lot of seating options with Wi-Fi and outlets as well. As for the drinks, I tried both the Matcha and the Mocha with a Cream Top. I really liked both and would definitely go again. read more

Came her to get some work done before our Disney day. This place is a bit hard to find, as it is tucked into an area with a bunch of other business buildings. We went into the parking structure to park and walked in. Parking validation is needed, so we ordered and got our validation. Here is what we got: Strawberry Matcha: I got this iced and I thought it just came with the cold foam from an IG post I saw, but it does not. It had a very subtle strawberry taste and was not very sweet, so I had to ask for more sweetener in my drink. The barista did tell me that their strawberry sweetener is not as sweet as the others and was very nice about offering more if I needed it. Mango Smoothie: This was just a basic smoothie. It was very icey and not as smooth as a smoothie would be. Flavor was there though! Chicken Pesto Melt: This was pretty decent. We had a choice of either potatoes or salad, so we obviously chose potatoes. The sandwich itself was really crispy and burnt on one side. The flavor was still good, but I wish it did have a bit more pesto sauce. The potatoes were perfectly cooked and salted. Overall, this serves as a great study spot or place to get some work done. We managed to secure the only table that had an outlet. I suggest charging up before coming here, but there are definitely lots of tables where you won't able to fight to get. I signed up for the rewards and it seems you get a free drink upon signing up. I hear there is a closer location to home, so we will visit that one! read more

The Parking situation is annoying. They are located in a business complex that is very protective of their parking ...follow the signs that lead to the parking lot nearest the coffee shop and take a ticket. Make sure to get that ticket validated by your barista so you can leave. Parking aside, the coffee itself is said to be organic which I am here for! Coffee has a high amount of pesticides and mold, both of which can give you brain fog and feel sluggish. I buy organic cold brew at home and cringe when I am on business trips and drink normal coffee. I went out of my way to get trubru organic coffee. I had a large iced peppermint mocha and ended up paying over $8 because I also needed oatmilk. With a dollar tip it ended up being over $9. There is no way I could do that on a regular basis. The drink itself was nothing special. I thought it was OK but it did not wow me. I would go back if I am nearby 100% because it is organic and for no other reason. The baristas were okay, but not very friendly compared to what I am used to at smaller coffee shops. read more

All the small hiccups from the soft opening are fixed from the consumer experience standpoint, and every drink I've had from them is a hit- cold brews, lattes, chais, & smoothies. Tru Bru is a new coffee shop in corporate Irvine that is clean, sleek, aesthetic. Nestled amongst the high rises, it has a well-crafted matcha latte with almond milk that had no bitterness at all even though I put no sweetener in it. Service was very kind. My only qualm is that is has little to no vegan and/or gluten free options. For a cafe in this day and age, especially once that is advertising itself as being a healthy organic coffee shop, not to have at least one allergen sensitive bakery item in their glass case is honestly baffling. read more

Wow. Usually a cafe is good because of usually two out of the three: (1) good drinks/food, (2) warm and inviting vibes ie. Good place to spend time, and (3) great service. This place has all three! The first gentleman who helped us out, who I assume is the manager, was so courteous and kind. We loved the food so much we went back in line for more and the second guy that helped us out (he was wearing a white chef's coat) was equally nice. We will definitely be back! read more

It's my first time trying this place, and I loved it a lot more than I thought! I got the matcha latte with vanilla sweetener, the brown sugar shaken expresso, and the chicken pesto melt. I was super shocked when my drink was only $7 with oat milk and sweetener, so I think the pricing is not too bad. I think their quality is pretty good, although it's not very strong, but that may just be because I got the sweetener. The brown sugar shaken expresso is a sweeter drink, with a nice strong coffee flavor. Chicken pesto melt is super crunchy and the balance of flavors is great although the chicken is a bit on the dryer side. I can here to study and the environment is nice. Great lighting and open space with the large windows, I do not think it gets too loud as it's not that busy there are a decent amount of tables inside and out so it's a nice meeting spot. The baristas are super nice and came with a great recommendation. They validate parking although there is not tons parking. Right outside they have a small community area with more tons of seating and games such as pool and table tennis. All in all, I had a great experience here! read more
