I used to go to the KIT Coffee in Newport Beach but it's always a bit of a trek and a longer wait. Really thankful for the location of the Irvine one. It's located in a large corporate plaza but the vibes are nice with covered outdoor seating and the fancy water features. We got a classic Cappuccino and one of their popular drink called Strawberry Alarm Clock. Cappuccino | $5.50 - While the cappuccino doesn't blow you away liek some other third wave coffee shop, this was a solid cup. I did wish there was latte art though. They chose good beans for their espresso drinks. Strawberry Alarm Clock | $7.50 - This drink has two shots of espresso, house-made strawberry puree, and oat milk. Really like how it comes default with oat milk and that you don't have to pay extra for sub. This was better than I had originally imagined. The strawberry really comes through and it's not overly sweet, very balanced. The staff are friendly here and the interior is very aesthetic. There isn't a lot of seating inside but plenty outside. There are two locations for parking, be sure to park near the restaurant side otherwise you'll have to pay for parking in full. You can ask for validation when you order your drink, they cover up to 90 minutes. All in all, if you're looking for a specialty drink, this place is a great option. They have lots of popular ones for both matcha and espresso drinks. If you are very particular about your coffee or matcha, this might not be a perfect fit. However, if you're a fan of flavored drinks, you'll most likely like this place. The ambiance is really nice for catching up with a friend or to get some creative work done. read more

Also, tried their secret garden bagel which had many toppings and was delicious and filling!! My only suggestion would be that I wish they had a text system to know when your order is ready as that way, if you're sitting in a library table slightly far away, you know to get your order. I tried the salted maple latte with coconut cream which was definitely a nice treat. I appreciated how quick my drink was made and how chill the staff was. The aesthetic inside is definitely cute and there's a nice seating area outside. They do validate for 90minutes which is convenient. I will definitely return and try something different. read more

Everyone saying this place is amazing is lying to you. Honestly, the middest coffee place i've been in a while. First, the parking situation. I'm sure that we parked in the wrong place but I don't believe in paying for parking just to get coffee. We paid $2.50 for parking and I find that annoying because we were there for less than 20 minutes. If there is a better place to park it's very confusing and not user friendly. We ended up getting forced to park in the garage because there was LITERALLY no way out. Second, the menu was sold out of at least 5 drinks, irritating. Third, the coffee is mid. It's in a business park so you feel really out of place when just there for coffee. There are plenty of other coffee shops that are in business centers that give a better customer experience. I got the vanilla latte, don't waste your time or money it's no better than any other vanilla latte i've had. Trying a new matcha place in Irvine called KIT Coffee. I believe this is an expansion from another location at Newport ... still trying to figure out the parking logistics st this location. It is a little bit inconvenient as there's No immediate parking since it's in an office building setting. Everywhere is a red zone, so please park in a garage and get validation. KIT Coffee have a matcha call it 'Thank You Berry Matcha,' (hahahah) and notice another twist where'Boysenberry Matcha" was also available. Tried the famous KIT strawberry matcha , ube matcha , s'mores cookie and brûlée toast. The strawberry matcha is super sweet, I asked for 1/2 and I feel like it was still sweet. The triple matcha or something it was good but again , sweet. The cream top (strawberry) is good. The ube drink is good. Taste like all the other ube drinks I've had. The s'mores cookie wasn't the greatest, it was hard and just tasted like an old chocolate chip cookie. The toast may have been the best part even though it was okay- . It's a little pricey but expected for an Irvine coffee shop. First of all, I felt like they didn't actually put oat milk because it tasted and the heaviness of it felt, like whole milk. Second, the matcha flavor itself was not good. It was weak and even then, not a good flavor. I can't remember the last time I didn't finish a matcha but I threw about half of this one out because the flavor genuinely wasn't enjoyable and I thought it might be real milk. KIT coffee is by far my favorite coffee chain in the OC -- whether you like matcha, coffee, tea or even an avocado toast, this place has it all. My favorite drink is the Iced Strawberries Wild Latte. It's a seasonal drink priced at $7.50-8.50 (so going to be super sad when it leaves!), and the strawberry cream top is absolutely amazing. Their Purple Dream drink ($7.50) is also delish, and their matcha is nice too! The drinks may be pricey compared to other cafes, but the drinks are too good, so I'd say it's worth it. The service is great too -- the workers here are friendly from the time I went and you get your drinks pretty fast. The inside is also super cute with a decent amount of seating, and they have cute items you can buy. As for the location, it's a little odd since it's hidden in between some corporate buildings, but all you have to do is park in one of the structures and walk to the cafe. They also validate your parking (up to 90 mins I think) for you. They're also only open on the weekdays, but if you need KIT on the weekend, the Newport location is also there for you. :) read more

There's a beautiful water fountain right outside that adds such a calm, relaxing vibe. It's the perfect spot to hang out and enjoy some good coffee or tea. We got an oat milk matcha latte. To be honest, it tasted water down to us. It lacked matcha flavor and barely tasted the sweetener. The staff were also very friendly. Today I got the same drink, and accidentally spilled it outside. It was smooth and leaned toward the bitter side, which I really liked. My siblings loved their drinks too. Unfortunately that's quite inconvenient, and probably the main reason that deters me from returning. Kike Café in Costa Mesa is hands down my second favorite matcha spot--and that says a lot because good matcha is hard to find outside of Los Angeles. The matcha here is legit. The space itself is great: spacious, super aesthetic, and clearly loved by locals. I was actually recommended this place by regulars who go there all the time, and now I totally get why. I'm officially becoming one too--especially since it's walking distance from where I usually hang out. Dangerous in the best way. This place is absolutely bustling around the time I went so I couldn't really get good photos of the inside. I have to say that the inside is very cute and chic though. If you want to sit inside though, do come early because there are limited tables and then a bench to sit on inside. I have to say that the staff were very nice and helpful. There aren't a whole lot of pastry/food options that I have seen there but there are a couple of interesting selections like a crème brûlée style pastry, a cookie, etc. The limited selection looks good though! The drinks are the main reason to come. :) I was debating on the triple berry matcha and the thank you berry matcha which is just essentially normal strawberry matcha. I decided to get the normal matcha and it was YUM! I downed that drink so fast and I wish I had more. I don't know if they do alternate milks since the original had oat milk in it, so you would have to ask. I'm not particularly picky with my milks and even opt for whole milk typically but the oat milk for the strawberry matcha worked well. Also, the seating outside is incredible so I do foresee myself coming back. One other thing-- make sure you get validation because the parking structure would be expensive without it! I've heard of KIT from lots of UCI students and so I wanted to give it a try. I exceeded all my expectations! The ambiance and vibes are so cute. The service is also so kind! You can tell that the staff definitely works hard to make connections and conversations with their customers. I got the Thank You Berry Matcha which was chefs kiss! I love sweet drinks and this was perfect. I just got into matcha so it wasn't too strong either which I liked It was the perfect sweetness for me! I should give this place one star because it has ruined other cafes for me. I never had matcha before their Horchata Matcha and TBH don't think I like matcha outside of that drink. Does it taste like horchata? No. But it's yummy. I'm not a coffee drinker either but after having my second (and last!) baby I needed more caffeine. So I tried the strawberry wilds latte. I can barely taste any coffee. It is so sweet and delicious. I'm addicted. I work in the complex and almost feel embarrassed how often I go here. Unfortunately I don't live nearby and I've been trying all the cafes near me and have yet to find any drinks like they have here. It's very upsetting. Their toasts and burritos are great too. Overall, it tasted refreshing, it would be great on a hot day. Lavender-forward flavor with the matcha quietly sitting in the background. It was slightly on the sweeter side, but I think it needed the added sweetness to balance the lavender and matcha marriage. A little bit of sugar goes a long way. CAPPUCCINO Got excited to try their Coava Coffee here, but I was disappointed. It was a dark roast that did not appeal to my tastes. It was dark with no personality. I've decided that instead of dumping the whole thing, I poured it into my lavender-forward Lavender Fields and I barely noticed it! That's how strong the iced matcha-lavender was! CUSTOMER SERVICE Typical barista-customer service. Everyone did the minimal. It was okay. SEATS Small indoor space with very few tables and bench seats, but there are large outdoor tables and sofas which is a much better option. PARKING / ASK FOR PARKING VALIDATION No street parking, unless you want to walk a whole block or two, as this whole area is office space and have a parking garage only.
