I've been wanting to try Blue Hummingbird Roastery for a while, and it did not disappoint! Their signature blue latte is definitely worth ordering--rich, smooth, and not overly sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is tucked away in a quiet location, making it a great spot to relax on a Sunday after a hike or bike ride with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is peaceful, and the service was warm and friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Looking forward to coming back and trying more of their coffee creations!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Good coffee shop with plenty of outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is spacious and clean, and the staff were helpful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered an Americano and a matcha. The Americano was good, but the matcha was just okay. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice spot to sit and relax for a while.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, a good experience.

Blue Hummingbird Roastery is off the beaten path. I don't think this is somewhere I would stumble upon if I wasn't intentionally driving to it. It seems like the share a parking lot with an office complex. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is some seatings inside their quaint coffee shop, and a few more in the patio area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was quick and friendly. I ordered the BHB Einspanner ($7.50) and I really enjoyed my drink. It was perfectly balanced between the coffee and the cream layer on top. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As someone who opted to stay and enjoy my coffee in the shop I find the space really tight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A little mixed feelings because I like the coffee enough to come back for a take out situation, but they're so out of the way they would never be on my way anywhere. Mixed feelings. I am definitely rounding up this review because I really admire the owner's passion during my time there. He was experimenting on flavors with staff and passionate to perfect the ratio. They were taste testing and I can tell he puts pride into his product. I know he's limited with the space, and I really wish them all the best with the locals in this area.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a cute store![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordered the Blue Hummingbird latte. It wasn't bad, but I was hoping for more pandan flavor. I didn't taste it at all. The owner and all the employees were really nice and they had some pretty mugs and other things on sale. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is also plenty of seating outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Adorable coffee shop small but mighty![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We loved enjoying the outdoor seating, and the Spanish Dark Café Latte was absolutely delicious, especially with the added cold foam. Be sure to download their rewards app for a free latte with no purchase necessary, which was such a fun bonus. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of easy parking, friendly staff, and such a welcoming atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] An absolute must-stop if you're in the area!

COLD BREW fans wanting a successful home brew experience??? Then look no further than Blue Hummingbird Roastery in Irvine for not only the right supplies you'll need, but the right recipe and tips from the owner, Mo himself. We had a perfect brew from the first attempt and trust me when I say this, we have tried so many times before. Our cupboards were full of various gadgets that promised a consistent cold brew and failed to deliver. But after our first batch, we donated them all! Hear me out, the "Toddy" equipment has no kitchen counter esthetics and the first up front cost seemed high for something with no chrome, metal or electronics at all. At the time I bought my "Toddy", there was a deal off the beans if bought at the same time. What I love about Blue Hummingbird is that everything you need, they sell there. The "Toddy" is the same brewing method they use in the roastery but the home version is on a much smaller scale. The freshly roasted beans on the shelves for sale are clearly marked to let you know if they work well for cold brew. Anyone behind the counter will tell you which blend they use in-house for their cold brew so you can copy it at home. They were so sweet to even write the grind number on the bottom of my bag so I'd remember when I needed more. The cold brew you make is a concentrate and they will give you a recommendation on what ratio of water to add so we had fun finding just the right strength. Best part of the entire experience is now when we travel and visit local coffee roasters, we buy beans with confidence knowing when we get home we will be able to brew a fantastic cold brew and it's all thanks to Blue Hummingbird Roastery in Irvine!

Blue Hummingbird Coffee *November 28, 2025 *1pm- Friday *3 Stars Environment: *Large Parking Lot *In-door and Out-door Seating *Quick Service Food/Drink: *Iced Matcha Latte with Almond Milk (no sweetener) *Iced Cold Brew I stopped by Blue Hummingbird Coffee while passing through the area, and the café itself is tucked away in a business/industrial area, which actually makes it feel calm and spacious. They have plenty of seating both inside and outside, and the service was quick. I ordered an iced matcha latte, and the matcha was hand-whisked, which I appreciated. However, the flavor leaned more milky than matcha-forward, so it wasn't my favorite. The cold brew, on the other hand was pretty strong. One thing to note is that both drinks came cold but without any ice. While I liked that the cups weren't filled with ice, which usually means less drink, however, it would've been nice to have at least a little ice to keep them cold, especially since we had a 30-minute drive to our next stop. Overall, it was an okay experience. The space is nice, the parking is easy, and the drinks were decent, but I'd probably wouldn't come back again.

Been going here for a while now. Coffee is pretty solid, and so is the matcha. Staff are pretty Ok. They also have pretty good pastries and ice cream/gelato. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Some good interior and exterior seating good for work.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Special coffee space vibing with gelato, bright and inviting coffee shop; I found clean bathrooms, plenty of parking, and nice outdoor tables too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The specialty menu called to me. Got myself an orange something latte, glad they took my glass but noticed no personal cup discount. Oh well. Maybe that's only Starbucks out west. I enjoyed a tasty sip all the way to a cold beach for the one week Newport got a lot of rain.

Cute seasonal decor inside. Small space but bright and cozy

Blue Hummingbird Latte: 3/5. I wasn't expecting a desserty drink, but it was still a bit too bland for me. I was really hoping for a stronger pandan flavor, maybe it was meant to be subtle. I had to dump the ice when I got home to avoid diluting the coffee. Dark Chocolate Hazelnut gelato: 5/5. $3.50 for a single scoop, which is decent for a delicious dairy treat compared to overpriced trendy (and stingy) ice cream. This was very decadent, but I easily destroyed it on a hot afternoon after work. Since they roast their own coffee, I had to try a bag. The Laurina beans made some great brewed coffee at home! Not too acidic or bitter, which I appreciated. Interior is small but cute and bright, with part of their roastery visible on one side. Both baristas provided quick service and were knowledgeable about the shop's offerings.

I don't know how I had never heard of Blue Hummingbird before, but I am so glad to have been introduced to the roastery. This location has an excellent menu of coffees, matchas, and gelato! I got their namesake latte, which is pandan-based. This is such a unique flavor and is not too sweet. Very refreshing over ice! The space has some seating inside, and plenty of outdoor seating. I went on a Saturday morning and there was a bit of a wait, but the baristas were very friendly.

Stopped by for a quick coffee break while i was working in the area. Located in a business building, there was ample parking with some seating inside and outside. I got the nutelle hojicha latte with almond milk, breakfast burrito and a steak quinoa salad. The latte was very light and had a roasted taste to it. I didnt taste much nutelle though. I wish there was more distinct flavor other than the hojicha. The breakfast burrito has bacon, eggs, cheese and potatoes. My husband wasnt a fan of the burrito because it was pretty plain. It definitely wasnt seasoned. The steak salad had quinoa, tomato, snall pieces of steak, leafy greens, and some feta cheese. It came with a type of smoky dressing...definitely very oily. I thought thr bowl was just ok. I probably wouldnt get it again.

I'm a big fan of Blue Hummingbird. Best tasting coffee in town. A shoutout to *Mo* He knows everything about coffee and somehow still keeps it super chill and approachable. I've asked him a bunch of random questions about beans, roasts, subscriptions, you name it, and he always takes the time to explain without making it feel rushed or salesy. What I appreciate most is how kind and sincere he is. He goes out of his way to help every single time. You can tell he cares about people, not only the coffee. Honestly, he's a big reason I ended up setting up a subscription here. Great coffee is easy to find. Great people aren't. If you stop by, ask for Mo. You'll see what I mean.

My friends and I ordered a kettle of Kashmiri chai to try. Service was good and the chai came out in a few minutes. Unfortunately, the chai was disappointing. The color looked great, and I was expecting a rich flavor of chai, but it ended up tasting very watery. Honestly speaking, it was more like hot water rather than a tea. We ended up forcing ourselves to finish the kettle before heading home. I was quite disappointed because I had high hopes. However, I am willing to give it a second chance and try a different drink on their menu and hope for a better experience because Ilike the atmosphere and the overall concept of the place.
