Alright, I'm not really one to write food reviews but I had to for this. This was only for the food offered for the OC restaurant week which was lobster Mac and cheese and a chicken parm sandwich. The rest of the food on the regular menu looked pretty good, but I haven't tried it so I can't base this off of it. So, with that being said, if you are coming here for the restaurant week offering, DONT DO IT. Totally not worth the money. The smallest little sandwich that I could have made at home, and the most bland Mac and cheese I've had in a while. I couldn't find any lobster, but it must have had some sort of seafood contained within because now my car smells like cat food which will be a nice pleasant reminder of how much this lunch sucked for the next few days as I drive home in this lovely California heat. I would give it one star if not for the fact that the service was great. It took a long time to get the food, but I could tell the staff was really busting their ass and doing a good job. So kudos to them. But yeah, heed my warning. Don't do it. And if you do, order something else. read more

This is such a cute hidden cafe near the freeway. There is a lot of available seating and it wasn't even crowded during lunch time. We ordered the steak sandwich and poke bowl. Both were delicious and very affordable for Irvine standards. The steak was a little tough and had more tendon than I would like but the sauce and bread were very good. The tater tots were super crispy! There is also a drink cafe inside the building so you can get your food and drinks all in one space. If you're short on time, they also have a fridge with prepared foods that is grab and go. read more

I worked from the cafe and decided to try the food side this time. I ordered the burrito bowl again since I enjoyed it last time, but this time I got it with potatoes and soyrizo. I was a bit disappointed with the flavor because it was too salty and very saucy. The texture was also more mushy, which might have been from choosing the potatoes. I'd recommend going with the tater tots instead for a better variety of textures. I came in on a Monday at 9 AM. Most of the booth seating was taken, but there was plenty of high-table seating. The place got noisier around 11 AM when a couple of large groups arrived. Service is counter-style, but they bring the food to your table. read more

The absolute sweetest staff! Decently sized portions at affordable prices (around $10-$20), my favorite go-to is their tacos! I love that they also have MoonGoat coffee there. Such a spacious and convenient lunch spot and workspace. And if it is available, you can also play pool! But their foods tend to be saltier and more oily than I would prefer! Saw an IG reel for the steak sandwich, so had to come in to try it! Super random spot- I love these spots that have good coffee and yummy lunch options. The sandwich took awhile to get, and it was cold- kind of confused by it because I thought it was supposed to be warm? Aioli was wonderful and the sandwich was great. The bread it was made on was crunchy and soft on the inside. The roasted veggies were okay. Kind of overdone and soggy, but nice flavor. The iced vanilla latte was excellent. Looks like fresh specs of vanilla bean. The flavor was great. The vibe is cool, and young. Parking was easy. The service was weird. Review is based on the coffee only! Got an iced latte with oat milk and it was not good. Super bitter aftertaste that made it really unpleasant to drink. The place itself is really nice and spacious. This is a great coffee shop to hang out or get some work done. I love that there are plenty of outlets and tons of seating, making it a great coworking space. On one side you have the coffee shop and the other side is a mini restaurant where you can get food. There is also a nice outdoor seating area. The space is clean and the staff and friendly. It can be a little hard to find if it's your first time but there are plenty of signs to guide you in the right direction, the coffee shop is kind of tucked around the corner, but there is plenty of parking. read more

Wooweee... thank goodness I read the reviews before I visited Moongoat. I get lost easily and so I'm glad there are reviews that mentioned Moongoat is actually in Olive Grove Cafe and that's the signs that I looked for. I instantly fell in love with the courtyard that I had to walk through to get to Moongoat. It looks so comfy that I know I can easily get situated here and work comfortably or get the family together and hang out. There's plenty of seats and tables outdoor and indoor and there's TVs for your entertainment. It's well-maintained and very clean. The barista who took my peppermint bark was super friendly. I was the only person in line and so it didn't take too long to get my order. The barista who made and served my coffee had a little bit of an attitude but she didn't kill the cool vibes I carried on because I was too in love with the cafe. The peppermint bark and the price to pay for it was perfecto!!! I'll definitely come back again to enjoy the ambiance longer and try out their other goodies. read more

Delicious salmon Mediterranean salad. I forgot to ask for no olives or dressing (personal preference since I find either to be overpowering, and it's simpler than asking for them on the side), but the balance of flavors for a cafe salad is pretty fantastic! I chose the cafe because of its proximity to a conference I need to attend and the free wifi. It is spacious, and there are abundant work stations and power plugs. The bathrooms are clean, and it's a lovely community working spot. The service is pleasant and fast. I would definitely come here again! read more

I had just flew into SNA and needed to find a local coffee shop to work before I hit the road again. There were plenty of fine establishments to choose from, but Olive Grove Cafe stood out for me because of its open air industrial look. I got to the cafe around 8:45am on a Tuesday morning. It was cool how this cafe was connected to a marketplace and a cafeteria. I could see it being the one-stop-shop for employees in the surrounding businesses. There was plenty of seating, so I snagged a table with a outlet. The place was busy but quiet since most customers were there working. Also appreciated that there wasn't any ambient music blasting. I could work here all day if I had the time. The place offered free, fast wi-fi, which was a huge plus. I took my remote calls without lag or downtime. Customer service was excellent. This place is pretty cool. Open indoor an outdoor seating. Lots of self serve but also staff to place your order. No one hovering so it's a great space to sit and work. I was in the neighborhood and it was my first time trying Olive Grove Cafe. As I walked towards the cafe I was really liking the vibe. There was a covered outdoor area in front with music playing and the Metrolink people had a table outside with some useful info. There was a table serving refreshments of some kind and people were milling about. As I stepped into the cafe it was clean, modern, very aesthetically pleasing. I approached the front counter pondering the menu for a while when a helpful lady named Alex approached me and asked if I needed help. I decided on a few things and she expertly and swiftly entered them into the self-order tablet for me. As I sat at a table nearby waiting for my order I heard other numbers past my number being called so I went to ask the cashier if they had skipped my number? The food came out right after she inquired and I was excited to try my lunch! First off was the Soup of the Day- Tomato Bisque. It really didn't resemble a bisque at all- it was runny and more of boiled tomato water that had been puréed? No herbs, barely any seasoning and just runny! A touch of heavy cream may have spruced it up and made it tolerable but to me it was quite sub-par. $4 for a tiny cup that was only 3/4 filled? I put the soup aside and moved onto my Swiss Smash I think it was called. It's a burger on brioche with melted Swiss and mushrooms. I took a bite and it tasted fine but there were only a few wisps of mushrooms in there. For $17?? Oh my. I asked the table of ladies sitting in front of me if their Swiss Smashes had enough mushrooms or if it was just mine. They had a few more than mine and they told me to talk to Alex because she's really good at resolving things. I stopped eating my burger and moved onto my Thai Spicy Chicken bowl. The grilled chicken on top was dry, and both the chicken and green beans were not seasoned at all. The saving grace was store-bought sweet chili sauce which the whole dish was smothered in. It was one note--sweet. No spice as the name implied, and no umami to balance out the sweetness. Sigh... I decided overall that I wasn't having a good meal so far and sought out Alex. She was empathetic and listened to my comments quietly and apologized for my experience. She suggested I speak to the chef about it so he could hear firsthand. I asked the cashier if I could speak to the chef and he came out to my table. I prefaced our chat by telling him that I'm a bit of a foodie and just wanted to share with him some feedback on my meal. I went over all the details from the dryness due to the different thicknesses of chicken breast all being cooked for the same amount of time, to the sorely lacking mushrooms, to the runny soup. I asked him if he had sampled the soup and if he felt that it was acceptable to call this a bisque? He replied that it was not. I commented for $17 for the burger it should be generously piled with mushrooms. I commented that the quality of what I was served is unacceptable for what I paid ($39)! He apologized and asked if he could perhaps redo my two dishes, maybe try a different protein for the bowl, redo my burger? I agreed to try the bowl with halibut instead. This time the fish was grilled properly and was moist but still was just overall sweet. The new burger came out with a few more mushrooms so I said it was fine. Let's just call it a day. On my way out I stopped by to thank Alex for graciously listening to me and empathizing. I told her that I had spoken to the chef and that he did try to remedy the food and that he said next time my meal would be on him. But I told her I wasn't sure there would be a next time. I so wanted to like this place but the price was not in line with the quality of the food at all. What a disappointment... After hearing about my experience, Alex offered to refund my meal. That was very kind of her to do so! But honestly Olive Grove Cafe, the way I experienced it today, will not be on my rotation list. There's so many other cafes and restaurants out there serving burgers with better value. The Swiss Smash served was more in line with $12 pricing, not $17, and the bowl was just mid. $12-13 would have been generous, not $16. In my mind there are just too many discrepancies in quality vs price to sanely justify returning to this cafe. read more

So if you've lived in irvine and are old enough to remember , this whole strip used to be lots of used and new RVs for sale. I was so bummed to see it turned into a bunch of industrial buildings but the silver lining is I just discovered they have this cafe i wanted to try out... Pros: lots of open tables , plenty of seating inside and outside with lots of plug outlets , and outdoor TVs , a pool table outside Cons: wifi is free and no password required so I can't log into my work laptop bc of firewall ;( so I had to leave and couldn't really do any work related stuff there . Bummer I wanted to like this place. Service for coffee is a little slow despite two workers behind the counter and the place not being busy at all with only one other customer. I guess they were busy filling online orders $7 for a medium size Spanish latte before tip is a bit much and $12.50 total to include a small muffin with dried blueberries ...but I guess comparable to other coffee shops . TL;DR - solid coffee shop, affordable! DRINK: i got a reg iced matcha latte with oat milk (sweetened). i tried it without mixing at first and it was warm which threw me off lol. don't be like me and make sure to stir it well before drinking it! the matcha flavor was strong and wasn't overpowered by the oatmilk or the simple syrup. super solid! i will say that i still like the matcha from van dyke coffee more. 4.5/5 SERVICE: efficient and nice! the guy was friendly and answered my questions thoroughly. 5/5 WAIT: basically no wait at all! i was the only one in line at the time i went so it took a minute from ordering to getting my drink- can't beat that! 5/5 PRICE: one of the best things ab this place is the pricing! usually shops charge for alternative milk but this place doesn't. the total for my drink was around $5.50, excluding tip! it doesn't seem like a huge difference at first but it adds up since my go-to order would cost around $7 at other places. 5/5 THINGS TO NOTE: - plenty of parking - it's in a business complex and inside where the cafe is at as well - a lot of seating for people who want to study/work here read more

This place is tucked away in the business complex, but yes it is open!! We were a bit confused but if you drive further down the parking lot, you'll see a corner that looks like a common workspace and the coffee shop is in it. They have a bunch of classic drinks but also some specials that looked really tasty. I got a Dirty Chai Latte and it was solid. If I was living in the area, it's definitely a place I would bring my work along with me to do work at. There are plenty of outlets and lots of natural lighting. read more

The churro latte has just the right flavor profile that lets you finish the whole cup without being overwhelmed in cinnamon sugar. This is a very spacious, clean and comfortable cafe, especially great for working. The coffee options are delicious and there is a variety of food options; we enjoyed the breakfast selection. Although This is a Public Cafe Located in a business center, the people that work here are so lively and inviting! Peak time is during 12-3pm. They have Billiard to play and free Wifi to work. What an amazing hidden gem!! Accidentally stumbled upon this Moongoat location and am pleasantly surprised. Hidden inside the business complex cafe, this location surpasses all expectations. I ordered a matcha latte and it was fantastic. They did not charge for alternative milk or syrup and the prices were AMAZING. So my dad just had surgery at Kaiser nearby and I just wanted some coffee/tea. Breakfast ends at 10 and lunch starts at 10 and I just happened to come around 1027 anyhow, saw the sign for strawberry matcha latte. Ordered it. No price advertised and Didn't even think about the amount total I was paying since I got a breakfast sandwich too and I was running in like 2 hours of sleep in the hospital with my dad. When I got back to the hospital, pulled out the receipt to scan it and noticed all the extra charges. Like why is a strawberry matcha charged separately, the cold foam is extra. The strawberry syrup is extra and strawberry topping?! What strawberry topping?! Wish I took a picture of the latte to show the lack of the alleged strawberry topping. This latte came out to 9.45 WTF?!?! I have never seen it like this, paid for this much, for a mediocre strawberry latte!
