Mexi Mocha with the famous little coffee bean on top. Every coffee gets one :)

This staff is ON IT. If the line gets long, 2 of their staff exit their little hut and start taking orders from the line. They are so pleasant and efficient ( my favorite combo). I got the Mexi Mocha with oat milk. It's my absolute fave. Not too sweet and very smooth. You got try this spot!

Love this for a quick pick me up before the gym. The drive thru is super convenient when your on the go. I love the iced mexi mocha. Great coffee flavor with a cinnamon twist. The staff is super sweet and have great recommendations.

California's got a Human Bean location!!!!! Yay!! I first had this magical beanery in Arizona. So imagine my pure caffeinated joy when I found one in Lake Forest! It's a cute lil drive thru in a small plaza right off El Toro Rd..... no frills, all thrills!! Coffee drinks are way better than Starbucks!! Shoutout to our barista Joshua, who was funny, charming, and probably moonlights as a stand up comedian with a milk frother!! Super friendly and very helpful!! I got a 32 oz Matcha Smoothie (at 7-11 this is translated as a Big Gulp lol) and yes, it was as creamy and dreamy as I remembered it to be! They give you an actual BEAN with your drink, like a delicious mascot. Highly recommend!!!!!!

Wow Their coffee is STRONG! When looking at their menu, I was a bit hesitant, the color of the menu was giving sugary drinks . So I decided to add an extra shot to my latte. And wow, it is not light coffee at all? Their latte Definitely can keep me up for late night studying lol! I wonder if they use Robusta coffee cause it tastes like so. Every drink comes with a chocolate- covered coffee bean which I thought was so cute , reminding me of the Kona coffee chocolate in Hawaii. I want to come back to dry their matcha and other drinks on the menu Drive thru is available ! :)

Service is amazing! 10/10 the person attending us was so patient and kind explaining some favorites as it was our first time going Price is great! We got the 24 oz Americano and a 16oz Bees Knees honey lavender iced latte and the price was $10 and some change. *Americano was smooth, not burnt, and up to my husband's standards. Husband says it's a medium roast. * the Bees kneez honey lavender latte was a 8/10 I rate it this way because I like a good dark roast and this was lighter but I loved the lavender notes. Again for the price I can't complain. Drive thru coffee place. Not crowded when we went at 9am. A great hidden gem Looking forward to trying more menu items. Cute and I love the name hehe Human Bean

This Human Bean is only a drive thru. It is in a small shopping center so while waiting I sat behind a parked car which made me nervous. The drive-thru moved super fast though. I waited less than 5 minutes, so no reason to worry. The pumpkin snowy (seasonal latte) was really good. It was a fun, sweet seasonal drink.

Update: Went again today for the 3rd time in under 2 weeks. Haha safe to say I really like this spot. Great service, delicious food/drinks, and very good value.

I recently stopped by The Human Bean in Lake Forest for a quick caffeine fix and was pleasantly surprised! The drive-thru was a breeze, and the service was friendly and efficient. I opted for a latte with almond milk, and it was absolutely delicious .The latte was perfectly steamed and the almond milk blended seamlessly with the espresso. The drive-thru area was well-maintained and had a cheerful atmosphere.

I first discovered The Human Bean while on a trip up to Visalia, California, and I've been a fan ever since. It was a great surprise to find one closer to home in Lake Forest. If you're driving ... um, "enthusiastically" down El Toro Road, it's easy to miss the little building tucked just off the road, but once you know it's there, it's hard to stay away. This location is a drive-thru only setup, and you place your order at the window. The baristas are always friendly, helpful, and impressively fast. The first time I stopped by, I ordered a Mexi Mocha Latte and it was spectacular--rich, just the right amount of spice, and a perfect pick-me-up. On my next visit, I tried the Beez Kneez Honey Lavender Latte, and this one might be my new favorite. There's rarely more than a car or two ahead of you, and if it ever gets busy, they're quick to send a barista out to take orders before you get to the window. Pro tip: bring your debit or credit card--Apple Watch payments tend to slow things down at the window as they are primarily set up to swipe not use the contactless card reader (although they do have one; they use it when they're outside taking orders). This is a great little spot, and I find myself swinging by several times a week now!

I find the Human Bean concept unique at least within this area of OC. This is my second time coming here and so far, I like their pistachio cherry latte. I also appreciate the effort to order take outside not to overwhelm the drive thru person/register. Worth checking this place out!

They actually offer a good selection of non-dairy choices including oat milk, almond milk and cashew milk. Walk ups are welcome, just line up behind any queueing cars.

Will you be open tomorrow 5/31?

I was concerned though that the kouign aman would be too sweet, but because of the slight bitterness of the caramelized sugar, it didn't taste too sweet at all. The almond cake was also delicious. Not too sweet and moist. Full of almond flavor. The ice almond latte was delicious, rich, and the espresso was not acidic or bitter. Now for the salt bread. For my drink, I went with a Matcha with oat milk--while you can't control the sweetness level here, it was still a very enjoyable cup. There is indoor and outdoor seating - we sat outside and enjoyed the greenery. That being said, there were two specific areas where I think they could improve, especially given the premium price point ($18 for the Tamago and $15 for the Pork): * The "Soft" Boiled Egg: The Tamago sandwich is supposed to feature a soft-boiled egg, but mine was definitely hard-boiled. It was a bit of a miss on the execution for an $18 sandwich. * Service Timing: The Pork sandwich arrived well before the Tamago. Since the Pork is a warm sandwich, I had to choose between eating ahead of my party or letting the food get cold while waiting 5 minutes for the second plate. It would be great to see better coordination so all mains arrive together. Bottom line: The flavors are definitely there and the quality is high. We had a perfect brew from the first attempt and trust me when I say this, we have tried so many times before. Our cupboards were full of various gadgets that promised a consistent cold brew and failed to deliver. But after our first batch, we donated them all! Hear me out, the "Toddy" equipment has no kitchen counter esthetics and the first up front cost seemed high for something with no chrome, metal or electronics at all. At the time I bought my "Toddy", there was a deal off the beans if bought at the same time. What I love about Blue Hummingbird is that everything you need, they sell there. The "Toddy" is the same brewing method they use in the roastery but the home version is on a much smaller scale. The freshly roasted beans on the shelves for sale are clearly marked to let you know if they work well for cold brew. Anyone behind the counter will tell you which blend they use in-house for their cold brew so you can copy it at home. They were so sweet to even write the grind number on the bottom of my bag so I'd remember when I needed more. The cold brew you make is a concentrate and they will give you a recommendation on what ratio of water to add so we had fun finding just the right strength. Best part of the entire experience is now when we travel and visit local coffee roasters, we buy beans with confidence knowing when we get home we will be able to brew a fantastic cold brew and it's all thanks to Blue Hummingbird Roastery in Irvine!

The owners (Sean and his wife) were super friendly and enthusiastic. They were such a couple. I can tell they take pride in their food and services. Everything was fresh and so tasty, we went back the next day for more goodies! We highly recommend this charming French cafe.

Food: 2/5 There was a case filled with pastries and I decided to try the beef and potato as it looked popular based on its limited supply. There were no prices available so I assumed, the size it was, that the total would be around $7. However, this pastry was almost $14! I was disappointed by the price and lack of flavor inside. The pastry was buttery but not as flaky as I'd hoped for. Service: 3/5 Walking into the bakery I was glad to be welcomed inside and asked if I had any questions by a young lady. After deciding what I wanted to order I waited in line. The older gentleman at the register was not as friendly. I felt rushed when I was ordering and it felt as if he didn't want to be there. Ambiance: 3/5 The interior is very limited in space, especially when trying to line up to order. There were no tables available or space to wait for your take out order. Overall: 3/5 Overall the prices and service were disappointing to say the least.
