Tru Bru Coffee in Laguna Niguel is one of those hidden gems you would definitely miss if you're not specifically looking for it. Tucked in the back corner of a quiet, mostly empty plaza, I honestly thought I was going the wrong way--but I'm so glad I kept going. The shop itself is small and charming, with a few bar-style seats and a clean, simple setup. The menu isn't huge, but it's focused and high quality. I came specifically to try the chai tea latte after hearing great things and ended up getting a dirty chai--it was phenomenal. Easily one of the best I've had. Smooth, the right amount of sweet, and perfectly spiced. I also asked for a recommendation and was told they make their vanilla in-house, so I ordered an iced vanilla latte. It was delicious--super balanced and not overly sweet. The flavor of the coffee itself really came through and made it enjoyable. While the Laguna Niguel location is smaller and more grab-and-go, parking is easy and it's a great stop if you're in the area and want a quality caffeine fix. I've heard the Irvine location has a bigger menu and more seating, so I'm definitely planning to check that one out too. If you're a chai fan or just appreciate well-crafted drinks, Tru Bru is absolutely worth a stop.

The sweetest and most down to earth staff, with the best recommendations for the ultimate coffee drink! I got the chai dirty vanilla latte with a banana foam top! It is out of this world amazing!

Hidden in a little business complex, you can also order online for pick up to save time. Small coffee spot, not meant for studying or sitting with a group of friends. Menu is simplistic with drip, espresso, lattes, cappuccino, cold brew, etc. I went with a matcha latte and a chai latte. Milk substitutions available and sweeteners as well. I thought they matcha was decent, it comes unflavored so added vanilla flavor, the matcha flavor wasn't as strong as I liked. The chai was pretty flavorful and would recommend this one! Overall pretty good smooth coffee, great for a morning pick me up!

This coffee place would never be found unless you learned about it on Yelp or social media. It is in an industrial section on the border of Lake Forest/Laguna Hills, in the rear of a business complex. Even if you were in the area (for which there is virtually no reason you'd normally be) you'd never find it as it isn't visible from the street. I drove past the driveway to the business complex a couple times before I figured it out. The interior is tiny; just a few stools at a counter along the front window. It's more of a grab-n-go place. My guess is that this is where they roast their coffee and figured 'what the heck, let's let people buy coffee drinks here too if they are able to find us.' The two women working here were cordial and efficient. I got a hot mocha and a chocolate chip cookie from their small selection of pastries. I enjoyed both in my car. The mocha was served at perfect drinking temperature. It was good as was the cookie. Neither was exceptional or wooed me to return. But if I worked in the area it would be a nice place to grab some coffee now and then. If you don't work in the area it's sort of a fun treasure hunt.

Been looking for high quality matcha in my area for quite some time & I found it! Got the iced matcha latte with honey (it doesn't come sweetened) and the walnut banana bread was divine! Will def be coming back. It is also located in a business complex so a bit hidden but they were actually busy when I came by.

ORGANIC COFFEE ROASTERS !!!! WOW! I stopped in here on the way back from my morning errands commute. So I decided to try their seasonal gingerbread iced latte. I also grabbed one of their banana bread treats which is also organic, gluten-free and has chocolate chips. The latte was very delicious has a good gingerbread spice flavor and comes with a small gingerbread cookie 5/5. The banana bread was a perfect treat to go with the coffee, the taste was on point to what I've been looking for 5/5 for flavor and size. The barista was very nice and gave suggestions and I opted to try the seasonal drink! It has a small seating area inside and a window inside of the roastery, everything looks nice and new! It was a little hard to find because it's in a industrial park. But the majority of maps will get you to the right building. Make it easier on yourself by driving straight after pulling in the driveway then look left and it will be on the furthest corner space. I turned the wrong way and drove around the building until I found it, was worth it!

Very cute spot conveniently located and with ample parking. I tried the passion fruit tea, strawberry scone, and banana walnut bread. The tea was sweet but not overly so and the pastries were soft, warm, and delicious. The service was also quick and friendly. This is a new location, so they didn't have hot food yet, but they said they will be serving food in a few days. Very excited to come back and get some good eats

Super delicious iced dirty chai latte!! Highly recommend this little gem of a shop tucked away in a business center.

I had a delicious hot mocha with an extra shot. If you like a good quality coffee/espresso Tru Bru has you covered. I also had a very tasty banana muffin and blueberry muffin, both were good! It's in a unique area but you will find it! Customer service was great, two young women helped assisted me, refreshing to see smiling face with happy to help you attitudes - great welcome!

Tru Bru is located in the back of a business complex area. There is a lot of available parking. Once you go inside, it's bright, clean, nice decor and full of good vibes. It is a small coffee shop but they do have a little seating and they roast the coffee inside. You can see it through the glass window. They have coffee, matcha and homemade snacks. The employees are super nice and happy. I will be back. I ordered the matcha and banana bread. Banana bread is amazing, matcha is ok. What would make the matcha better is house made almond milk or Good Mylk. The non clean organic milks just taste awful. Please get house made milk asap! It will change the flavors in a positive way! It's perfect for a mid day grab and go drink and treat. I love this business and what they stand for. I will be back. I hope they get some clean almond milk soon.

Title: "Organic Latte Paradise!" Review: Hands down the best organic latte in town! Glad they opened a branch in Laguna. We have been frequent sippers at their Orange location. Must try their banana bread soo good and very moist. They have the best freshly roasted coffee in Orange County- this place is a haven for coffee and pastry lovers. Can't get enough of the goodness they serve! Thank you

LOX toast

My first time trying this place I got the iced dirty chai latte and LOX toast and both tasted amazing! The chai latte was super creamy! Best chai latte I ever had! The lox toast is a must as well!

The layout inside was not clearly marked for where to pick up orders, and the regular in-store purchase counter. Because of that, I went to the in store purchase counter. There was one woman ahead of me, politely waiting to be acknowledged by the surly, disinterested young woman behind the counter who appeared annoyed that she had to pause her task of stuffing baguettes into bags--WITHOUT GLOVES. The employee did not smile, did not engage with the older lady buying the bag of coffee, and offered not a single welcome or pleasantry. At the same time, another young woman rushed behind the counter with a scowl on her face, didn't acknowledge me at all, clocked in, looked up at me waiting there, and then turned heel and walked away. The first young woman, whose hands had just been on finished bread, were now on the dirty POS screen and the older woman's payment card. At no point did I see her wash or sanitize her hands. When the transaction ahead of me concluded the surly young simply asked "Can I help you?" DMV employees have more warmth and personality. I responded that I had an order to pick up and gave her my name. She responded with, "You have to go over there," and pointed behind her. That was it. No "thank you," no "have a nice day." The second counter was no better. I stood at the pick up counter for a minute before being acknowledged me. It was long enough that a middle aged woman approached and asked if I'd been helped yet. Again, no smile, no greeting, not a single indication that this employee was grateful for my business. He also asked, with the same lack of humanity, "Can I help you?" I repeated that I was there to pick up my order and gave him my name. He seemed utterly bewildered, lacked any sense of urgency, and apparently couldn't find my name in his computer. He simply stated with a dead-pan monotone, "I gotta check on something." He went back to an unattended shelf that I didn't see or even know was there but was accessible by anyone. He brought my order out and handed it to me, and again I received no thank you, "have a good day," or any other effort toward making my patronage there seem appreciated. The loaves look fine, but the way they packed my croissant in the bag was such that it was on its side between the two heavier loaves and the sturdy paper bag. Of course these means that I pulled out a deflated, completely flat croissant with the filling mostly outside of the pastry. I can't say that this is because of the squishing, however, because the cheese was cooked and solid--just outside the croissant. The flavor was good, but after the first few bites where the filling had all come out of one side, the rest of the croissant had no filling, was super flat, and seemed unusually greasy. This sort of thing would never happen at Moulin. Between the horrible service, the insanely high prices, and the 7-11-level quality of the pastries, I'd recommend that you just go into the Sprouts right there and get something from them. Those employees are always happy/friendly, the value is there, and the quality is superior. Or better yet, go to Moulin where real, French-speaking men and women expertly practice their craft of exquisite artisan baking. Chaupain is a terrible, unsuccessful imitation.

On a last minute decision to eat out for dinner, we took a stroll afterwards. It was probably 15 minutes before closing time and we saw this brightly lit, blue and white shop with a small cooler cart and umbrella outside near the front window and large wall art of Lionel Messi, the soccer player, inside. Being a soccer family ourselves, we asked if it was too late to come in and we were given the warmest smiles and were waved in and I'm so glad we stopped and asked. This delightful dessert spot has so much to offer that had it been a warm and crowded evening, I would have felt pressure to choose because there were so many yummy looking options it was REALLY hard to decide. They are more than happy to provide tasting samples and I think that made my decision even harder because they were all fabulous! Since we let them know this was our first time in their shop, the young server said we needed to have it served with their filled churro tucked into the side, to experience the "full effect" of Helados and although it isn't something I would add every visit, it was a fun addition to the "newbie" experience! Prices are so reasonable considering the quality of product, the portion size, and the overall charm of the place, I was actually expecting our bill to be much higher. This place is one of the best hidden gems I've found in our area! As they say on their website, it isn't ice cream, it isn't gelato, it's HELADOS! And you have to give it a try!
