Met with my local friend at this place some 8-9 years ago but never wrote a review. Now is a good time to do that! Starting with the parking, everything in front of the stores is 15 minutes max and surveilled, so be mindful and park in the large lot. Very easy. The place itself looks very inviting, an arrangement of different furniture pieces which makes it rather eclectic. I like it. My cortado(s, there was a mistake in the order and they were kind enough to give the additional one away for free) was creamy, had full aroma and definitely not bitter. Yes! The coffee cake was recommended and for a very good reason, it's delicious. Lastly, service was prompt, nice enough and again, owning up to the error is a big deal and appreciated. Plenty of coffee places around but 3rd Place has earned its place as being very consistent.... as I already liked it in 2017.

Great vibes here. All young super friendly staff. Coffee was great and so was the coffee cake. Great place to relax, work, people watch. Will try their sandwiches next time.

The guy at the register was standoffish, the burrito was kid-sized, and the avocado tasted horrible. They used old avocado and overcooked the eggs. The only thing they got right was the coffee.

It's 5 min to my house tucked in foothill shopping center right next to Ralph super market and bunch of other shopping stores. All I can say once you there and have their cappuccino no other coffee makes sense anymore. They told My husband the coffee brand they use we also started the using same brand at home for 2 years now. Deliciousness overload!

3rd Place Coffee was on the list of next Coffee places for me and my girls to try. This was my second time trying 3rd Place Coffee. I don't remember it being so decorated the first time I came in. The atmosphere is pretty cozy but still enough space to house plenty of people. There's even outdoor seating available. The guy who took my order was very friendly and quick. I ordered a Hot Mocha Coffee with whole milk. It was pretty okay. I found myself adding extra extra sugar to it. (I like my coffee sweet!) Overall, I give my entire experience a 5/5. From the service to the coffee to the time hanging out with the girls. Thanks, 3rd Place Coffee!!

Such a cute small town vibe coffee shop! Loved the decor and service. My bf & I were in the area and got the brown sugar latte and Vietnamese coffee - I really enjoyed my coffee. We also got the brochacho burrito and California burrito with green salsa - I felt like the brochacho had a bit too much avocado & not enough eggs. However, my bf enjoyed his California burrito. Side note: the green salsa was extremely thick as if it was frozen or something? If they changed it out to be a homemade verde style salsa it would be perfect!

I will need to ask them why they are called "3rd Place" next time I'm in, but they taste pretty "1st place" to me. The pumpkin spice syrup is house made and the baristas pride and joy recipe, so I had to try it. It was delicious and very fall. Some of the cakes are house made and they have breakfast burritos, which I will absolutely have to come back and try. The plants are for sale. Shopping center parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Casual. Good service. Please come and create your own adventure.

Great coffee shop that definitely fits its name. It's so welcoming and great seating for indoor or outdoor. We love the cortados and breakfast sandwich. They have a breakfast sandwich that you can customize the bread & meat. Our favorite is with sausage and croissant. It's so tasty and eggs are always cooked perfectly. Their pastries always look amazing and a wide variety.

Atopped by today and tried the vanilla coffee. The area is large and nicely decorated. Excellent place to meet friends for coffee or do some work. The servers are nice and efficient. My vanilla latte was ok, not much vanilla taste but the coffee itself was good. I will come back and try different drinks. Definitely give this local shop a try.

Coffee to go (this was $6.50)

I have mixed feelings. My first time visiting here was during a weekday morning for breakfast. While the food and drinks are solid (taste-wise), the customer experience was not. Placed the order online and when I went up to the counter, the guy just looked at me. I had to initiate the conversation and say I'm here to pickup an online order. Then he just pointed to the end of the counter. Wow, great customer service guy. Other criticism is the price especially when the customer service is lacking. Ordered a couple breakfast burritos and while they were good, there are better places if you want value. Not that the sizes of the burritos are small but more so how much they cost. Now for the coffee, $4.50 for an espresso drink is fine. Want to substitute for oat milk? Extra charge. Want a flavored syrup? Extra charge. So now that drink costs $6.50. Now that's really NBD but when you see how small the drink is (see picture), you get the idea. Overall if you're going to advertise that you "welcome guests with open arms" and "leave with a satisfied heart... and a smile" I recommend improving the customer service. Then the prices you're asking for won't be such an issue.

My cousin and I had breakfast here right after our hike. The place is very cozy but we opted to sit outside since we wanted fresh air. Food/Drink: - Vanilla Matcha Latte: I had high hopes for this drink but I hated how the matcha powder was not fully mixed. There were still chunks in the drink and I could not taste the vanilla. Would not get again. - Smoked Salmon Bagel: Loved this! It's super easy to make but it was very filling. They do not skimp out on the ingredients. Service was quick and I also loved that their plates are never the same. It adds to the quirkiness of the place. Will be stopping by again if I'm ever in the area.

3rd Place Cafe is a cozy, independent, neighborhood coffee shop, which is why I get my coffee here instead of Starbucks. I suspect many people who visit this shop shares my desire to support local businesses. Unfortunately I learned they no longer has open mic night on Wednesdays. One fewer place for people who love to play for others to perform and people like me who like music. I used the shop and dine Lake Forest gift card to buy my coffee today. It feels great to enjoy a nice cup of Joe at half price.

I'm always scouring for the best breakfast burritos in Orange County, and South OC is definitely slept on in terms of offerings. 3rd Place Coffee is more of a new player on the scene with breakfast burritos being one of their many options as an intended third place coffee shop, and I will have to sample their coffee someday, but this time was just a quick breakfast burrito for some light fueling over the weekend. Immediately one thing that stood out was that they had many protein options, which is always a bonus. For those who love avocado you can get that as well, which I'm sure makes any breakfast burrito a less dry experience. Unfortunately I don't count myself among them. I had the chorizo burrito, an option I always welcome, and it was delicious, with the hash brown being a nice touch. The size was admittedly small for the price, at least compared to the absolute beasts you can get nearby at Linda's or Sunrise, but it is a very good burrito and you won't be stuffing yourself. I do wish there was a bit more salsa, which was delicious, because burritos can always be a bit more dry. I can't say this rank among my favorites, but this will definitely be a place I will come back to and explore more. TIP: Many protein options including ones you normally wouldn't expect.

Ordered the salad and the Olivich sandwich with meat. I noticed several customers going up to the counter to check on their food, so figured they were pretty overwhelmed but after waiting 40min for 2 items, and getting no follow-up from a gentleman who said he was going to check on my order (I saw him leave instead), I asked them to cancel my order. The guy told me to give him 5 min. to get it done. I was happy to get my food 10min later! This is where my disappointment happens.... After waiting 50min for a salad and a sandwich, they forgot to put the dressing in the bag and according to the menu, the sandwich should have been on a baguette but it was on more like a French roll. Tasty, but I love baguettes which is why I ordered it. Maybe a "I'm sorry" piece of baklava would have made the experience a little better? Next time I will turn around and leave if they are really busy. Better to go on a slow night.

The side salad that accompanied the plates was a fresh, tasty touch that I really enjoyed. For my drink, I went with a Matcha with oat milk--while you can't control the sweetness level here, it was still a very enjoyable cup. There is indoor and outdoor seating - we sat outside and enjoyed the greenery. That being said, there were two specific areas where I think they could improve, especially given the premium price point ($18 for the Tamago and $15 for the Pork): * The "Soft" Boiled Egg: The Tamago sandwich is supposed to feature a soft-boiled egg, but mine was definitely hard-boiled. It was a bit of a miss on the execution for an $18 sandwich. * Service Timing: The Pork sandwich arrived well before the Tamago. Since the Pork is a warm sandwich, I had to choose between eating ahead of my party or letting the food get cold while waiting 5 minutes for the second plate. It would be great to see better coordination so all mains arrive together. Bottom line: The flavors are definitely there and the quality is high. I'd certainly come back to try more of the menu, though perhaps as an occasional treat rather than a regular spot.

When we did, they didn't allow any modifications (which I kind of get, it even said it on their menu) but if I am paying $20 for a sandwich I would hope I can modify it. So this was the upsetting part. After they took our order, it took tab out another 30-40 minutes for the food to come out. They did check up on us, but what can I say? So it's a bit confusing as to why making a few sandwiches takes over 30+ minutes. The bread was good, but not worth $20. My tuna sandwich had very minimal tomato + lettuce. The pastrami sandwich is good, meat was flavorful, bread was toasty. Just sucked that the food took long and it is overpriced for some sandwiches. Edited: While we were there, another customer asked if he could sub something, so it wasn't just myself that felt some way about not being able to sub something. I did enjoy the scenery, I thought it was a nice little getaway away from Irvine. However, I think anywhere where you have to wait 30+ minutes for food especially for a sandwich, it is upsetting. Whether it's a small business or an established one. These are just my honest opinions unfortunately.

I'm someone that loves food tripping and breakfast burritos are something I eat often, but this one was other-worldly. The custom pick of protein, the cheese, and jammy sunny side up eggs inside, the crispy tater tots, and the tenderly crunchy griddled tortilla; it was incredible. And if you think I'm overplaying how good it is, then your loss; you don't get to try it. Anyway besides how good the burrito is, service is great! They made my food quick and were attentive to the things I needed. The inside is nice and there's good seating inside, maybe not enough for a big party, but there's a couple two-top tables and a bar seat counter (no bar, just bar counter). HIGHLY recommend! Made with your protein of choice, sunny side-up eggs, tater tots, pico de Gallo, cheddar cheese, and a flour tortilla - I ordered it with chorizo and CK ordered with steak. The steak are thinly sliced - not carne asada style like I assumed, but it was still good. My favorite had to be with the chorizo. Everything in the burrito was well put together and created a good balance. I think the star of the show in the burrito was the tater tots because they're the perfect crispyness and I think it's what the tied the breakfast burrito together.
