The breakfast bowl was pretty filling for an early morning meal, and the Strawberry Matcha had a good balance of flavors. On my second visit, I tried the Monastery Latte with oat milk. It had subtle notes of locally sourced Ramakrishna honey and house-made lavender syrup. The oat milk may have lightened the flavors a bit, but it was still a satisfying drink for a cold morning. I'd come back and try it iced next time to see how the flavors compare. Overall, I've enjoyed both visits and would come back to explore more of the food and drink menu. Location & Parking: 5/5 The café is located in a large shopping plaza with plenty of parking. The lot was pretty empty during my morning visits, although I can't speak for how busy it gets in the afternoon or evening. This coffee shop is so cozy! I was in the area and decided to check out this cute coffee shop i saw tucked away in the corner. I got a London Fog and breakfast burrito. Both super yummy! I'm not sure if their syrups are house made, but they definitely taste like it! i've never tasted a lavender syrup this good in a London Fog before. Toasty but still perfectly floral. The breakfast burrito was good too: perfect balance of eggs, your choice of protein, cheese, and potatoes. Met with my local friend at this place some 8-9 years ago but never wrote a review. Now is a good time to do that! Starting with the parking, everything in front of the stores is 15 minutes max and surveilled, so be mindful and park in the large lot. Very easy. The place itself looks very inviting, an arrangement of different furniture pieces which makes it rather eclectic. I like it. My cortado(s, there was a mistake in the order and they were kind enough to give the additional one away for free) was creamy, had full aroma and definitely not bitter. Yes! The coffee cake was recommended and for a very good reason, it's delicious. Lastly, service was prompt, nice enough and again, owning up to the error is a big deal and appreciated. 3rd Place Coffee was on the list of next Coffee places for me and my girls to try. This was my second time trying 3rd Place Coffee. I don't remember it being so decorated the first time I came in. The atmosphere is pretty cozy but still enough space to house plenty of people. There's even outdoor seating available. The guy who took my order was very friendly and quick. I ordered a Hot Mocha Coffee with whole milk. It was pretty okay. I found myself adding extra extra sugar to it. (I like my coffee sweet!) Overall, I give my entire experience a 5/5. Such a cute small town vibe coffee shop! Loved the decor and service. My bf & I were in the area and got the brown sugar latte and Vietnamese coffee - I really enjoyed my coffee. We also got the brochacho burrito and California burrito with green salsa - I felt like the brochacho had a bit too much avocado & not enough eggs. However, my bf enjoyed his California burrito. My husband and I were looking to get our 3rd cup of coffee. He likes Dünken Donuts, me not so much. So we came across this place, as we pulled into the parking lot I jokingly said to my husband why not 1st place coffee. We walked in there was only 2 people sitting and 1 person ordered ahead of us. 2 people working at the counter we stood there no one acknowledge us standing there, while both of them just chatting about personal life. Third place coffee lives up to its name in "third place." And to be honest, I'd probably place it lower. The food was overpriced for "cafeteria food." We paid $10 for bland avocado mash on toast with a "slight sprinkling" of everything bagel seasoning. My breakfast bowl came with 5 tater tots for potatoes, and I'm not even sure the eggs were real. My latte was palatable but too milky. Our matcha latte was also too milky. Customer service was great though but unfortunately, we would not go out our way to eat/drink here again. read more

I have mixed feelings. My first time visiting here was during a weekday morning for breakfast. While the food and drinks are solid (taste-wise), the customer experience was not. Placed the order online and when I went up to the counter, the guy just looked at me. I had to initiate the conversation and say I'm here to pickup an online order. Then he just pointed to the end of the counter. Wow, great customer service guy. Other criticism is the price especially when the customer service is lacking. Ordered a couple breakfast burritos and while they were good, there are better places if you want value. Not that the sizes of the burritos are small but more so how much they cost. Now for the coffee, $4.50 for an espresso drink is fine. Want to substitute for oat milk? Extra charge. Want a flavored syrup? Extra charge. So now that drink costs $6.50. Now that's really NBD but when you see how small the drink is (see picture), you get the idea. Overall if you're going to advertise that you "welcome guests with open arms" and "leave with a satisfied heart... and a smile" I recommend improving the customer service. I'm always scouring for the best breakfast burritos in Orange County, and South OC is definitely slept on in terms of offerings. 3rd Place Coffee is more of a new player on the scene with breakfast burritos being one of their many options as an intended third place coffee shop, and I will have to sample their coffee someday, but this time was just a quick breakfast burrito for some light fueling over the weekend. Immediately one thing that stood out was that they had many protein options, which is always a bonus. For those who love avocado you can get that as well, which I'm sure makes any breakfast burrito a less dry experience. Unfortunately I don't count myself among them. I had the chorizo burrito, an option I always welcome, and it was delicious, with the hash brown being a nice touch. The size was admittedly small for the price, at least compared to the absolute beasts you can get nearby at Linda's or Sunrise, but it is a very good burrito and you won't be stuffing yourself. I do wish there was a bit more salsa, which was delicious, because burritos can always be a bit more dry. I can't say this rank among my favorites, but this will definitely be a place I will come back to and explore more. TIP: Many protein options including ones you normally wouldn't expect. read more

Let me start by saying that this place has a cute atmosphere and definitely has the coffee shop vibe. This place is about 15 minutes away from me today and I wanted to give it a try. I ordered the following: Matcha Latte with lavender syrup and almond milk, jalapeño bagel breakfast sandwich, coffee cake, and a hashbrown on the side. Let's start with the matcha latte. I'm a sucker for a matcha with lavender syrup. When I took a sip all I tasted was matcha. I mixed it to make sure the lavender wasn't on the bottom, but it still tasted like matcha with almond milk. As someone who loves matcha and has tried many places, I understand that matcha usually comes unsweetened which is how I'd prefer it. But today, I wanted a lavender taste to my matcha. Since I didn't taste the $1.25 lavender syrup I asked for, I politely asked if my drink came with lavender syrup. Instead of them offering to remake my drink or lead with a customer service mentality, I received an explanation on how their matcha isn't sweetened and how if I'm used to sweet matches theirs is different. They only offered to add more lavender syrup. After the second addition of lavender syrup, I was able to taste it. The bagel sandwich tasted like something I can make at home. It wasn't terrible, but it's not something I'll remember about after today. It didn't have a wow factor that I look for in fresh bagels. The hashbrown is a patty they most likely buy in bulk at Ralphs and heat up and charge for. The best thing today was the coffee cake. I sadly don't think I'll come back. They're better off concentrating on selling pastries and coffee because the good is not it. read more

Service was friendly. But this is not a fast place for food. I could be wrong but I think there may be just one person in the back making all the food items. Had to wait 20 mins for my sandwich due to a busy afternoon. I ordered the Turkey Avocado Bacon on rosemary sourdough. The bread was good as far as it being fresh but the rosemary was a little overpowering for me personally. It's been hours since I ate it and can still taste it. As for my decaf oat milk brown sugar latte... I knew from first taste it was a bit more acidic than other places I get my coffee from. Acidic isn't great for my stomach as Dunkin makes me feel ill as well. Needless to say, it's a cute spot and very busy on a Saturday afternoon as hikers go there after their hikes next door. I've never written a yelp review before, I literally downloaded the app just to write this review. After a 14hr graveyard shift I was extremely hungry and tired. I decided to give this place a try as it was on my way home. It seemed cute and I wanted to support a local business. I was not acknowledged, not even a hello, and the three employees present simply stood around having a personal conversation. After two minutes this old man in yellow beanie decided to acknowledge me. He was extremely rude and condescending. He didn't even say hello or ask what I would like. He just simply asked "what do you want?". I gave him my order, and I had a question about the menu item and he proceeded to say "look at the board, middle bottom" what ever that means. I should have left, but at this point, I was literally starving. Long story short I paid and of course he didn't even tell me what my total was or ask me if I wanted my receipt. AND THE CHERRY ON TOP was when he tossed the food at me on the counter! The food literally fell out of the paper bag onto the counter, the paper bag even ripped! Horrible business, horrible behavior from an old man, and the food was terrible!! If you get anything out of this review literally go to any other coffee shop. First time coming to this coffee shop and it was quite nice. I asked the barista for the reason behind their store name and they said it's a classic "third place" between home and work. I wasn't hungry but did notice that they have a food menu as well...which ranges from breakfast items (burritos, avocado toas) to pastries like cinnamon coffee cake, which I was totally eyeing but I knew it may not pari as well with my vanilla matcha. I feel that some menu items were reasonable and some were a bit pricey like their wraps which range around $13. House made vanilla syrups and a few other fun flavors with honey they offer Super friendly service. She explained to me how they make the vanilla syrup and I knew I was in for a treat. The flavors did go very well but the flavor of the espresso was slightly weak in my opinion I kept thinking maybe they put too much milk and maybe not enough of the espresso because at one point I thought maybe it was just a milk drink.
