    Mango Bingsoo
    Michelle N.

We are always looking for some local small businesses to support. Our ventures took us to UYU this time, which is right in our neighborhood. It's nice to see more Asian desserts popping up in South OC so we don't have to make the drive to at least Irvine to get something of the sorts. We came in and tried the following: Taiyaki: we got 3 and tried the custard, pepperoni, and the butter. I liked the butter once the most, because it was warm and salty, but still chewy with the mochi texture. I have not tried this at any other place before. Custard was decent but definitely not as food the one from Somi Somi and the pepperoni probably had a singular pepperoni in it with an ounce of cheese. Overall, probably would not get these again, since we have had some better elsewhere. Thai Tea: I was really hoping this would be good, but it just wasn't. It tasted a little burnt? Like the tea was just left on the stove for too long? Not sure how to explain it, but it just was not the thai tea I am used to. Mango Bingsoo: This was the highlight of the visit. I really enjoyed how they have smaller sizes. The bigger ones are usually overwhelming and we get flavor fatigue before we ever finish the bigger sized ones. The mango was fresh and the bingsoo had mochi on it which was a great addition. They did have some claw machines in there. As we were waiting for a group before us to try it out, we heard that it ate their $5 bill, so we did not even give it a try. The place is spacious and they did have a large area where bigger groups can come in and play games. Other than that, I would say this place is just average.

UYU used to be Binga Boonga so im glad that they have come back! We need more Korean representation in Lake Forest! :) I really love their bingsoo aka shaved ice. Simple, refreshing, and really on par with other bingsoo spaces. They renovated their space so that there is more indoor seating: 2 are picnic style with a seats each and 2 are good for casual seating; also 2 seats each. It looks much cleaner and modern inside with their choice of furniture. They now offer cake. Today's offerings were Dubai cheesecake, ube cheesecake, and oreo cheesecake. These go by pretty quickly and I think they only have 1 cake per day. They brought back the taiyaki! And i love their floral teas. They are very flavorful.

Such a cute little spot for dessert. Came with the whole fam, which was perfect since this place is great for sharing! Bingsu is like a milky shaved ice with fruit and ice cream on top. They have other toppings as well but the fruit one was the perfect amount of light and sweet. The taiyakis and the bingsu were made fresh to order. Love that you could get different fillings in the taiyaki - red bean and Nutella were hits. They also have some teas and coffees and cheesecakes on the menu. Family also had fun with the claw machines while we waited for our desserts. Service was great and place was super clean - perfect for hanging out and enjoying some sweets!

First timer! Found parking easily. Really cute cafe with good amount of seating. Great music. Friendly staff. Tried their bingsu and it was delicious! It wasn't overly sweet and was very refreshing. The shared bowl fed the 3 of us.

This cafe was cute and cozy with a minimalistic look. Inside there is enough room for seating with was two large long tables and a few smaller ones. Parking was not an issue. Got the Matcha Bingsu and Strawberry Peach Tea. The drink was carbonated and very refreshing with a cute design/logo. The Bingsu was sweet and delicious. Would definitely want to come back and try the other desserts. Overall this is an adorable cafe to stay and have dessert and study/do work. The staff here was very attentive and provided great service.

I'm still pleased with the quality of the flavors I come back to try all the flavors. I had a good service whenever I come and the place is always calm and chill.

Needed to get my bingsu fixed and was pleasantly surprised there was a local bingsu place. Looks like this is a fairly new place. Spacious and even have a couple of board games so you can play with your friends. Had the mango and oreo bingsu and both were yummy, but definitely liked the mango better. There was also Taiyaki made to order with various flavor choices was also delicious! Simple bingsu which I liked,

This review is based upon the location and the eagerness of having a wonderful well-known café experience, from what I understand is going to have a wonderful vibe, community interest. Additionally, this is going to be right next to the Starbucks in the same shopping center. That will be interesting.

Right next to o Starbucks, very clean inside . Looks like a nice place to hang out and grab a snack. Disneyland get to try the bingsu or taiyaki. We got the strawberryade and th brown sugar milk tea . There is no boba.

Located in the same plaza at the Spring Hill suites. Parking was plentiful, they don't have a military discount. Came on a Friday afternoon, we were the only ones. Had one lady working the whole place, she was lovely. The place was clean, had music playing. Ube cheesecake didn't taste like Ube at all but it did taste like cheesecake. Shared size Bingsu with half mango and half strawberry was okay. The shaved ice part was very creamy and sweet and the fruit on top was tart. So overall it worked. Probably wouldn't come back.

Stopped by here after dinner a few Friday's ago. It wasn't super crowded but definitely had a steady stream of clientele. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. The place was spotless, though a bit warm inside. We came in with a group of 5 wanting bingsu. We ordered the mango bingsu and the Oreo bingsu (both share size). They were huge! Definitely big enough to share between 3-4 people each. Both were LOADED with toppings. I didn't get a picture of the mango bingsu since we ate it so quickly, sorry! Definitely recommend this place!

We love to come here for dessert, they have the best snow ice, we've tried every flavor and all are delicious. The kids love the mango snow ice. We always get the big one to share. Then they also have freshly made taiyaki...nice and crispy on the outside and warm and delicious on the inside. Kids love the Nutella filling, while the adults preferred red bean. I also enjoy their hot ginger honey tea with some pine nuts. We always get excellent service and love the decor inside. The only suggestion is to have more seating

PLEASEEEEE COME HERE. I've been NEEDING a better shaved ice option (sorry Sno2Go), please check out this place so I can make this a staple in my diet. Service and ambiance are great, but I will be returning for the Strawberry Bingsu. It was too yummy to take a picture beforehand (I'm not sorry).

Red bean Taiyaki- sorry not the best photo... but it was good that I ate all 3 and the to go never made it home!

Very nice mango bingsu, $9.5 for the small one, the taiyakis with red beans are delicious, but $12 for 5 is pricey.

5 stars for the goma matcha latte and milk bread with crunchy pearls!…read more The goma matcha latte 5/5 had a black sesame paste that was like the black sesame version of smooth peanut butter! One could probably eat it by the spoonful! Such a complex flavor complement to the matcha latte. The matcha latte (4/5) felt fairly strong (I estimate 4g at least), and the mango puree tasted real/ fresh but was nothing special. However, I did like that it was not too sweet. Caveat: I am partial to mango/coconut milk or mango sticky rice matcha lattes. The goma matcha was worth the $8 pricetag. Tip: Matcha Mondays=10% off matcha drinks! The mango one maybe was worth it due to the amount of matcha, but I do feel like I could make it at home. The milk bread ($5.50) was soft, with a delightful bursting sweet cream filling topped with those shite pearly crunchies-- unique and delicious. I also loved the kinako an pan (sweet bread with red bean filling, $5.50) because of the nostalgic flavors, but also because the azuki bean had a nice crunchy sugar quality. It was on the drier side the day after purchase, but I enjoyed it. Service was cheerful and speedy. The space is pretty large with probably as much outdoor seating as indoor, and there were a few open spots at 1:30 on a Monday. Parking was plentiful in the shared plaza lot with some shady spots. I would drive back just for that goma matcha latte!! Also to try a few other breads or for a nice friend date spot to sit outside.

The mango cream bread had a good amount of cream and the filling was delicious. The chocolate cookie was good but so hefty. I ordered the matcha cheesecake and original cheesecake thinking it was the soft and fluffy texture but it had a thick consistency. The matcha was good with a very strong matcha flavor and the original had a slight lemon flavor. I enjoyed all the food and sweets here, but a bit disappointed with their drink portion.
