Was in the area and checked Yelp for a breakfast suggestion. Sunny Up Cafe showed great reviews so I tried it. Located inside an Auto Spa/Gas Station it makes good use of its space. There are several booths for seating and orders are taken at the counter. I had the Breakfast Platter with eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, hash browns and toast. I also ordered an Oat Milk Latte with Vanilla. The food was done perfect! Lightly seasoned and basted eggs, flavorful bacon and toast that was perfectly buttered and crisp. They also have at least 4 different hot sauces to choose from. And... the Latte was one of the best I have had anywhere! My order was taken by Daniel and he also made the Latte. His attitude and attentiveness were exemplary. I look forward to returning again as the menu has many tasty looking items.

    Chilaquiles Platter

I was craving chilaquiles for breakfast and did a quick search on my Yelp app. Many Mexican restaurants popped up, but this one caught my eye because it appeared to have excellent reviews and it was located inside the Chevron gas station mini mart! The cross streets are RSM Pkwy and Alton Pkwy in Foothill Ranch. I checked their menu online and decided to order pick up to go. I ordered the chilaquiles and chose rib eye for my protein, red sauce and my eggs over easy for $12.99. Yes you read that right! I couldn't believe how reasonably priced all of their items were! One thing to note is that they do charge a service fee. I'm not sure if it's a flat fee or a percentage of the total cost, but mine came out to $2.50. Nevertheless, $16.50 is a great price for chilaquiles! It took around 20 min for my food to be ready. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and offered me a free hibiscus tea drink since it was my first time there! The chilaquiles came with queso fresco, pico de gallo, sour cream, avocado & onions. It also came with potatoes & beans. And let me tell you... they were one of the best chilaquiles I've ever had! The red sauce was so delicious and all of the ingredients came together perfectly. My only wish is that the corn chips didn't get soggy so fast, but that's a minor thing. The overall taste was outstanding! I will definitely return soon to try some of their other items!

Turkey Sausage breakfast burrito. The red medium hot salsa not shown is really good too.

One of the best breakfast burritos I've had in OC! The place is tucked inside a Chevron gas station, but don't let that fool you. I'm always on the hunt for a good BB and I've found my spot. I ordered the turkey sausage (a more healthier option than bacon lol), eggs, hash browns and avocado. It comes with avocado at no extra charge, which is a plus. I added pico de gallo. The meat to egg, hash brown ratio was perfect. I loved that the hashies were a little crispy and not soggy! The turkey sausage was really good too and the burrito itself had good flavor. And it's a HUGE burrito. Oh, and they also grill it to make it the near perfect burrito all for around $12 which is a great price for the quality of the burrito. I'll be going back to try their chilaquiles next.

Daniel is a great host. Brought me my breakfast and an ice water.

Daniel was a great host. I had two street tacos. Al pastor was delicious and so was the carne asada. I was gifted a black bean tostada this was perfect. I added a mix of the habenero and tomatillo salsa. My mouth is still tingling. They have a high end coffee machine and the coffee is HOT and perfect. Picnic tables to sit on. More of a take out crowd. I don't know why I only think of them when I'm having my car repaired.

Sunny Up Cafe is inside Chevron ExtraMile mini mart

Sunny Up Cafe is located inside the Chevron ExtraMile mini mart, where Charro used to be. It has a limited menu that I would describe as Am-Mex. There are omelettes, pancakes and French toast, as well as burritos and chilaquiles. Most items are $15. It does offer a couple daily special items for less. It doesn't have many tables like a diner such as Denny's. You order from the counter first then find a table to sit down to eat or take it to go. Basically a place for a quick meal.

My friends recommended this place as a new spot for us to try out. It's located within the ExtraMile gas station and it just recently opened. For the place to be located in a gas station, I wasn't expecting not only the food to taste that good but I didn't expect the portion sizes to be that big either!! I only paid about $5 for my taco and it filled my entire plate and my appetite. The woman who was helping to serve was on top of her game! The moment I came in, she greeted me with a Good Morning and a smile. After taking my order and serving the other girls, she was still so attentive and friendly and accommodating. I wish I got her name, but I wanted to say THANK YOU for your kindness (I'll get your name the next time I come in!) Overall, for the first time, I give it a 4/5! Only because my meat was a little on the dry end. But I look forward to trying Sunny Up again!

Update. Sunny up cafe stays open later on weekends and has added street tacos to the menu.

    Street tacos and tostada.

Stopped in at the recommendation of a coworker. The place did not fail to impress with the food. Small little spot hidden inside the Chevron gas station. Two street tacos pastor and asada, and the chiliquias. They tossed in a tostada on the house. Beans were flavorful, the meat was perfectly cooked with no traces of gritty fat. Not only good flavor, but the after bite had good flavor and left me wanting more. I will be back. Additionally, the staff were nice and friendly.

Ever since I got my driver's license, I have been constantly going here every other week because I have been craving their food. I always order the asada burrito with extra beans and the price definitely matches the portions unlike Chipotle. They also give you chips for free, plus there's a salsa bar. This place always fills the burritos and makes it packed. After eating, the food makes me full and really satisfied in a good way unlike other places. I always try to recommend this place to my friends and people I know, this place is really underrated!

5 STARSSSSS FOR A RESTAURANT MAKING AN AFFORDABLE WHITE MEAT CHICKEN BREAST BURRITO!!!!…read more I'm particular, but I've been on the hunt to find somewhere close to where I live and work that offers a good-tasting, high-quality white meat chicken breast burrito that doesn't cost $16-20+ and I have FINALLY found it here at LA Tia Tacos! For $10.75 you actually get a good-sized white meat chicken breast burrito, with rice, beans, onions, cilantro fillings AND they give you some chips AND they have an open salsa bar with condiments on the side! I could not be happier to finally find a spot to replace my previous favorite (Sharky's) which has been long gone from OC and is now only in LA unfortunately. I know why restaurants use cheap, poor quality dark meat but I don't know why people prefer dark meat over white meat. It's gross and does not taste any better and you get gross gooey bits. LA Tia uses clean, marinated, high quality chicken breast and it will make me a recurring customer! I've already been coming each week and as long as everything stays consistent, I will be a longtime customer. My only small critique, although not a complaint, is that it would be nice if theh could add a few more chips to their meals. Sometimes they are a bit sparse and it would be nice to get some more. Now let's compare this with the overrated and over hyped Crapotle. Here at La Tia, you get better quality meat, free chips and a salsa bar that actually has good tasting salsa varieties to choose from, whereas at Crapotle, you get cheaper, low quality dark meat gross chicken and you have to PAY extra for chips and salsa on the side and their salsa choices suck anyways. Altogether, you would pay more at Crapotle for less quality. If you're a real chicken lover who understands and appreciates the white meat superiority, this is the spot you should go to! For under $11 you will not be disappointed! I'll be back again this week to get my burrito fix!

My wife ordered the chile verde burrito chimichanga style, and that's where the experience dropped off a bit. The pork had very little flavor and, considering it's supposed to be simmered in chile verde sauce, it was surprisingly dry. Service was good. We went on a Friday night and the place was fairly busy with a mix of dine-in and takeout orders, but everything moved along smoothly. The moment I walked into the restaurant, I was welcomed with smiles, amazing smells, and great service. After looking over the menu, we decided on a few different things. When I go out to eat, I like to let the cooks do what they do best and experience their dishes through their own style, creativity, and personal touch. That is part of what makes dining out special. For my meal, I ordered the "Fish de Veracruz," and it was truly delicious. First off, there was a generous amount of food, which for me is never a problem! (Ha ha.) The olive tomato sauce with capers paired with the red snapper was excellent. The fish was cooked perfectly tender, moist, and flaked apart with ease. The flavor was all there, and I didn't even need to ask for limes, salt, or hot sauce because honestly, it didn't need anything added. My wife ordered the breakfast burrito with green sauce on top, served with rice and beans. She chose the pinto beans, and she also really enjoyed her meal. She especially loved the sauce on top, saying it was very flavorful without being spicy. She felt it really completed the burrito by adding another layer of texture and flavor. My daughter, being a toddler, can be a little picky, so she kept it simple with rice, beans, guacamole, and chips. However, she absolutely enjoyed her meal, along with the fresh lemonade they made for us, which she couldn't get enough of. I will also add that eating my dish brought me back to memories of being at my grandmother's house in Puerto Vallarta as a child, enjoying a home cooked meal while she made me laugh and served me food with love. That feeling of comfort is something special that good food can bring back. I did take some time to read through other reviews online to see if they matched my experience, and I noticed they were very mixed. Some customers mentioned concerns about prices, wait times, incorrect orders, or feeling that they did not receive enough value for what they paid. At the same time, others shared experiences like mine and described it as some of the best Mexican food they have had. I can only speak from my own experience, and based on how my family and I were treated, the quality of the food, and the overall atmosphere, our visit was a very positive one. Every restaurant can have an off day, and everyone's expectations are different, but I can only share what happened during our visit. For us, it was a good experience filled with great food, kindness, and hospitality. Olamedies may not be the biggest restaurant, but it is full of warmth, heart, and incredible flavors. I would definitely recommend giving it a try based on my own experience, and I personally look forward to coming back again soon!
