Stopped in for breakfast this morning. Sonja was my server and she was pleasant, professional and efficient. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs with coffee and OJ. The ambiance was pleasant and the food was filling. Walked there while having my wife's car services at 949 auto repair and boy was it a hot one. The weather is for the birds. Oh wait, not one bird seen in the sky, they must be hiding in the shade somewhere, lol.
The Country Fried Steak was so good, and the breading was nicely seasoned and crunchy! The gravy was thick, peppery and delicious, but would be perfect if sausage was added. My waitress was friendly, professional and gave excellent and attentive service! The busboy was great too, as he always filled my coffee cup with hot coffee, was friendly and cleaned the tables very well! This is a great restaurant with excellent, comfort food! I will be back soon!
Right off the bat, what surprised me about the Snooty Fox was it's ambience - it's very old-fashioned american. The chairs are old and madr of wood, the wallpaper is a faded, patterned blue. It's not the sort of place you'd expect in Irvine: coming in here feels like visiting an old grandmother's inn. Likewise on a Tuesday morning, most of the patrons seem like they're old regulars. There's an old, patriotic Americana feel to the whole space - and that's not necessary a bad thing. As for the food, I ordered a salsa egg burrito. It came out decently fast and smelled AMAZING. The portion size is more than generous, I didn't even realize the hash brown potatoes the menu mentioned it came with were on the side and not just in the burrito The inside of the burrito is completely filled with egg. In terms of taste, it wasn't one of the best breakfast burritos I've had, but it's still good and very filling.
The Snooty Fox is FIRE . I LOOOOVE me a good breakfast spot! This cute little diner feels like home. Cozy, friendly, and anything you order is going to be delicious . I love finding cool little spots! I will definitely be back when I visit.
Found this place on my way back home and I'm so glad I did. The food was delicious and filling, and the whole spot has that old, familiar, mom-and-pop restaurant feel that I absolutely love. I was especially happy to see Mexican plates on the menu that did not miss on flavor, everything tasted fresh, comforting, and made with care. Customer service was spot on too. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, which really made the experience even better.

For lunch, my family always loves the Foxy Chicken Burger and the Super Melt, both are consistently delicious and satisfying. Honestly the best American breakfast place I've tried in the OC! So classic can't go wrong with their perfectly cooked eggs Benedict and super comforting huevos rancheros.... The French toast was lovely as well, not soggy or heavy and came with a bunch of strawberries!
Ok. First timer and probably won't go back. The food was ok. But what REALLY BOTHERED ME was that I told her server I have a health condition and can ONLY eat SOURDOUGH in case I wanted to eat bread and she brought me this WHITE BREAD. When I asked her please to change it she refused arguing IT WAS SOURDOUGH BREAD. It CLEARLY IS WHITE BREAD. I had to leave it. She ALSO FORGOT MY AVOCADO that I ordered on the side and she never apologized. I won't be recommending this place. Just a side note: in the middle of AUGUST PLEASE PUT SOME FANS ON. It was extremely HOT.
The Snooty Fox is a breakfast institution in Lake Forest. They've been around for a long, long time, 30+ years, serving up hearty home-cooked style American breakfast. My all time favorite is the garden omelette, adding ham with the sourdough. The hollandaise sauce on the top is so good. Other options are also tasty. They've also got a kids menu with some pretty good options. Service is generally pretty good, though they are always slammed on the weekends so be prepared to wait and deal with that. We started calling ahead and getting our stuff to go. The location has that small town diner feel, that has been around since the 80s. By the cash register there are so many pictures of kids and families that have been regulars over the years. It's a classic and if you are looking for classic breakfast- you can't go wrong here.
First timer! Saturday brunch. Waited about 15 mins for a table inside. Friendly, helpful, and efficient staff. Food came out quick and was tasty. We ordered the steak and eggs as well as pancakes. Loved the feel of this place. Enjoyed our experience here.
Came here for breakfast and almost every table was filled including outside. Even with the busy day, service was efficient. By past 11 am, it became quieter and not too noisy. My family enjoyed what we ordered: the grilled French Toast (four halves) was fluffy with butter and syrup, the 2-egg (sunny side up) with three sausages, a couple of biscuits, and hash browns were deliciously generous, and the Eggs Florentine was incredibly tasty! Overall the meal was satisfying and very filling. Will definitely go back much later in the day for a quieter breakfast.
Ya bruh still goated asf best breakfast spot in the lake Forest Laguna hills area. Ambiance is straight gas. The service is always good and the water is always cold!

This is a local gem. It's a quintessential diner and open until 3pm and I believe seven days a week. I usually get the Eggs Benedict as does my wife except she substitutes sausage instead of ham. They have great hashbrowns and what they call "oh those potatoes" which is a green pepper and onion and potato concoction which is also popular. My kids typically get French toast or pancakes and gobble it all down. I feel like the same servers and Cooks have been there since I started going eight years ago. The ambience is what you'd expect with a lot of old pictures on the walls. The last time we went was Monday and it was so busy I couldn't believe it. There was actually about a 40 minute wait to sit down for a party at four. Parties of two were able to sit down a little quicker because they have lots of two tops. I've only ordered breakfast, although they have plenty of sandwiches and salads. I saw a stack of onion rings piled high that looked pretty tasty. The menu has a wide variety that will satisfy just about anybody. read more

The place is such a cute spot. Outside doesn't look so flashy but don't let it fool you. Coming in, the air filled with lively chatter of families and friends over what smells like good home cooking. I loved the decor. (I didn't take photos). It feels like home away from home. Everyone here was friendly. And the staff are so welcoming. The hospitality was beyond. I came here with my mom and we both enjoyed it. My mom had ordered their fresh blueberry muffins and she enjoyed it along with her coffee. I didn't try the muffin this time because I wanted something savory. Next time for sure because it looks delicious. I had ordered the #1 on the menu choice of meat with eggs (any style). I ordered my plate with bacon, eggs over medium, with hash browns styled "Those Hash-browns" which has onions and bell peppers. (Not to be confused with house potatoes fyi). I also had it with a side of toasted sourdough. It had hit the spot for a breakfast plate and the price was very reasonable compared to other breakfast spots. The portions I feel were perfect. I took leftovers home (hash browns wise). I can't wait to come back with more family and friends and be able to just indulge in the yummy items of their menu. 11/10 for me. More than 5 stars to be honest. I'm glad we decided to stop here. read more

It was an good experience overall, a very convenient breakfast spot right of the I-5 and Lake Forest Dr. Seating inside only. Clean restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. It was 2 of us, around 8 am. Not busy, we left around 9 am, and it was pretty busy. Staff could've been a bit more friendly, especially since they were not really busy around 8 am. They seemed to be very friendly with their regular customers though, not so much with new ones like us. Food was good. A bit pricey I would say. I had the Foxy scramble ($17), but the portions are definitely worth it, and the food is delicious. I didn't give them 5 stars because of the customer service. Other than that, good experience overall. Worth coming back! read more

I had brunch here with my mom and wife. I ordered the eggs florentine, my wife the French Toast and my mom the eggs overeasy with hash browns and sausages. Of the three dishes, I thought the eggs florentine was the best: lots of spinach and hollandaise sauce with the poached eggs. The hash browns were called "those potatoes" on the menu as green peppers are added to the dish. (It's a signature twist on hash browns at the restaurant.) The French Toast and the eggs overeasy with sausages were solid dishes but nothing too special. Our waitress was friendly and efficient --- and very busy as the restaurant was packed. The ambiance was that of a packed, very busy and popular breakfast, brunch and lunch place. I thought the prices were on the high side but otherwise its a good place for a good and filling breakfast. read more

I wanted to stick it in the food it was sooooo GREAT! The French toast was a "naughty bitch" and submitted to my tongue. I LOOOVVVEEE FRENCH TOAST MAMA, AND THIS DELIVERED!!!!! holy conoli I think I had an accident.!!!!! 4/5 cause I'm broke and too expensive. Even tho I didn't pay and my fiancé did. read more
Eating out for breakfast or brunch is a rare occurrence cuz while at home I can easily make a yummy breakfast, but when I don't feel like cooking I gravitate to the Snooty Fox. Breakfast is served all day and besides breakfast they have a nice variety of sandwiches and diner options that hit the spot. We typically order the pancakes which are plate sized, super fluffy, and dense. The deep fried french toast has the perfect crunch and doesn't deflate. They cook eggs to order perfectly everytime. I love their roast beef sandwhich with hatch green chili and tomatoes paired with the crunchy onion rings. The staff is awesome, fast, and thoughtful. There tends to be a tiny wait on the weekends but I've never waited longer than 20min. Ambience is awesome for fun loving groups or solo sessions. For reference I give Denny's and IHop 1.5 stars. Snooty fox gets a 3.8 but rounded up to 4stars. read more

It truly depends the kind of person you are. I didn't adore it but i definitely see the appeal. I got a patty melt with extra onions and potato salad. I also got a side of macaroni salad. My husband and I shared some fries and onion rings while he had a huge meatball melt. I loved the patty melt. It was really filling and greasy and cheesy and savoury. The potato salad as well, perfect texture and taste. And the onion rings were amazing. I very rarely like onion rings as it's always a toss up on if you get good onion rings or just a mouthful of batter and nothing else. These were perfect. Crispy and balanced and sooo good. On the flip side of things, the macaroni salad was meh. Not my thing. And to add to that, my husbands sandwhich was truly too much. According to him, it was so delicious but the bread got soggy and was falling apart as he ate it. If that's your thing, go ahead. For the most part the food was delicious but extremely rich. Regardless their motto is true, very filling, very affordable, huge portions, and overall, delicious food. Very worthwhile. read more

Overall good but room for some improvement. Came today for the first time for breakfast. It was packed when we arrived but the wait time for a table only took a few minutes. The table we were seated at wasn't fully cleared yet and the check from the last party was still at the table. The space is a bit tight so as to fit lots of tables but clearly a popular spot! Food was a bit pricey for what it was. I got a breakfast burrito that came out to $22. It was okay, a bit bland but a heavy pour of Tapatio helped. The hash browns seriously needed some seasoning too. For what it was I did think it was overpriced though. read more

We have been coming here for four generations. Say hi to Mike the owner or Gloria Sr or Gloria Jr. their breakfasts are generous and tasty. Don't miss their omelettes or scrambles or THE FRENCH TOAST! Small, good seats, always worth the wait!! read more

Since 1978, this wonderful restaurant The Snooty Fox has been here ! They used to have the most delicious spinach quiche, (hint to bring it back,) but they added new other things to the menu; such as a chorizo egg breakfast. They are keeping up with the times, and the menu is reflecting this. This family owned restaurant, has generational families frequenting it. Once again the food was delicious, and the generous portions will satisfy, even if divided. The food is reasonably priced. In addition, the restaurant staff were extremely positive and attentive. read more

How long is the wait on a Saturday late morning?
Probably close to 30-45 mins. Gets full on weekends. Sunday's are worse I think. About an hour unless you get there at opening.
Any gluten free options? gluten free pancakes?
Unfortunately, I go to the Snooty Fox every weekend and I have never seen anything gluten free.
